    1) Wash face twice a day
    2) Use oil-free cleansers after moisturizing
    3) Don't use blackhead strips for long term
    4) Leave extractions to the dermatologists to prevent scarring
    5) Don't skip the sunscreen (oil-free for oily skin)
    6) Use chemical exfoliants twice a week (best ingredient: Salicylic acid)
    7) Use clay masks for blackheads twice a week-Cetaphil brand
    8) Don't sqeeze blackheads
    9) Apply ice pack to face to reduce swelling
    10) Never use face tanners
    11) Use mineral make-up products: Derma brand
    12) Use retinoid
~Might miss some points, but hope I helped :) ~

    1. consider washing face 2x a day
    2. considering washing face after working out
    3. make sure moisturiser thats oil-free
    4. avoid pore strips
    5. avoid extraction
    6. dont skip sunscreen
    7. try niacinamide
    8. use chemical exfoliants 3 nights a week aka dont overdo it; for sensitive skin, consider using a wash-off chemical exfoliating product
    9. definitely go for salicylic acid; be open minded about it, formulation matters too, not just the %
    10. avoid using clay mask with kaolin while using chemical exfoliant (to avoid irritation from dryness)
    11. dont squeeze blackheads
    12. avoid self-tanners
    13. avoid coconut oil
    14. consider retinoids

Graceful Beauty Hi, I just bought it. Can I ask how often you use it and am or pm? I use DE framboos 2x a week, so have a decent tolerance for acids, but thought adding Paula’s might help with the blackheads that have started appearing on my cheeks recently. I’m in my 40s and my pores are now a concern. 😕

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri 4 ปีที่แล้ว +20

@@catherinec.7199 I use it a few times a week. Sometimes in the morning and sometimes at night. And sometimes only in my tzone. I don't typically mix this with other acids and I probably wouldn't use at the same time as the DE Framboos. I usually pick only one to use...AHA or BHA. I may use one in the am and one in the pm. I will however use both ingredients combined only if the product is formulated already with both already in it like your DE product is. But of course always check with your Dr for the best advice 😁

I know picking is a big problem for many people, not just you and I, but it feels very isolating because no one talks about it and many people don't understand why we can't "just stop" picking. I have tried sooo many different things in efforts to stop picking but nothing has worked. I feel defeated.

I finally had to accept that I need a heavier moisturizer and that I can’t let my skin dry out by using something that is not occlusive. My current fave is the La Roche Posay Toleriane Night Cream in the blue bottle.

Pro Tip: The higher percentages in BP can be used for back acne or other body areas, just not recommended for the face.

1- Consider washing your face 2 times a day (morning and night)
2- Consider washing your face after you workout (dont forget to moisturise, choose oil free moisturizer)
3- Blackhead strips are not very useful
4- Dont extract blackheads yourself(it can worsen acne, cause scarring)
5- Dont skip spf. Choose oil free spf.
6-Exfoliating product 2-3 days a week.( active ingredient: salicylic acid(the best) or glycolic acid, lactic acid...)
    7- Dont over exfoliate
    8- clay mask
9- dont squeeze your face if you do apply ice
    10- dont use self tan
11- makeup dye may cause acne
    12-consider mineral makeup
    13-consider using retinoid(adapalane, prescribed)

    9. Do not squeeze or pop your blackheads to avoid scarring

I have used Paula choices bha for around 6 months now, many people rated it very well but idk why I don't see any significant changes for me, my blackheads are still the same like from the start, or there might be even more of them now...
I've been trying to use it 1 time a day for 2 months, then switched to 2 days per time and noticed nothing different... First I use it with other products like simple face wash gentle cleanser, Paula choices niacinamide toner, black snail serum, moisturizer and then I start adding retinol into the routine, then also oil cleanser and foam cleanser as double cleansing method. I could notice that my skin break out less, but it still breaks out here and there, there was literally no point where my face is acne free.. Also, I’ve noticed that using glycolic acid once or twice a week really helps my skin in addiction to daily salicylic acid (both Paula’s choice). Im sure my skin is the sticky type you talked about in a previous video, I really need a lot of acids and differin to keep my skin from being crusty and breakout.
