    Hey doc, I'm a dentist chiming in regarding the lower veneers. If you were my patient I would advise you against doing the lower veneers for a few reasons. First, other people really only notice your upper teeth when you smile--it's always best to stay as conservative as possible, so when your lower teeth aren't really the center of attention in the first place, it doesn't make sense to alter them. Second, veneers are made of ceramic, and this material requires a certain thickness in order for it to be durable enough to withstand chewing function. Because the lower teeth are significantly smaller than the upper teeth, there isn't as much tooth structure available for us to reduce without compromising the strength of the tooth, which results in lower veneers often looking bulky and opaque because we still need the ceramic to be thick enough to not break. What I would recommend for you instead is Invisalign to close your diastemata and potentially some whitening to just overall boost the appearance. Hope you see this and hope you stuck with your gut to not lay a drill to those bad boys! PS your upper veneers look great, and you're right that they definitely gave you more lip support and filled out your face nicely. Have a great day!

    • @td6259
      @td6259 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      When I was wearing my Invisilyn that area of my face was fuller and I noticed the difference since I just need the retainer at night now. I'm 58 and didn't think about it until I put the retainers in and wore them like I did during the straightening process. Interesting.

      I found Dr. Dray in 2018 and was the first skin care person I followed. Then 2020 quarantine made me pay attention to "suggested skin care peeps" that was probably triggered form my obsessive following of her. That's how I found you, Hyrm and the Welsh twins. You guys are a great bunch and I never feel shamed. I just wished I found her before I was 39 and used sunscreen sooner. I am lucky I still look younger then.

      What works for Dr. Dray won't work the same for everyone, your comment is ridiculous.
      Also, it's one thing to ask a person if they've had Botox, it's an entirely another thing to call someone a liar when they tell you they haven't had Botox since xyz. Yet the rudness doesn't stop, it continues to fester until a flippin' DOCTOR has to explain how facial muscles are unique. That is harassment and people like that should be blocked from TH-cam 100%.

It’s helpful to know what factors may contribute to why a makeup product looks nice on them (aside from good lighting and, like, post-production color correction or whatever). It helps me temper my expectations for how a product might work for me, since I haven’t had any work done.

It only creates unrealistic expectations, where sharing them to me have such a positive impact. And strange thing, I had a tongue piercing when I was 17, literally removed it within a month and I have that little mark on the tongue as well, had a nose piercing for exactly a week. Oh my gosh I'm so glad I found this video, it was so validating to hear you talk about your facial innervation! I believe I have the same issue, my facial muscles do not behave the same on each side of my face. I'm hoping face exercises will help improve strength, as I have been able to train myself to raise the right side of my upper lip on command after several weeks of practice :)

    Dr. Dray is so awesome, has always been. I think I subscribed back in 2018?? I can't believe her channel grew so much and she now has 1 million subscribers now! She's always been a sweet, caring person sharing her life and informing the public about derm-related topics. She's also really funny, loves Totoro. I love her. I love how she's just herself. She's genuine and has a heart of gold ❤️❤️ thank you for all the videos through the years, hope this message brightens your day! I'm actually feeling very confused after watching select videos by Dr. Dray. She reviews and loves SO MANY different products, that I can't seem to be able to put together a good routine for my 71 year old dry, sensitive, Rosacea prone skin.
      I currently use Paula's Choice exclusively, as I like to use the same line for all my products. They seem to compliment each other better that way.
