    The amazing thing is that you do this with one hand while holding the camera. Patience of Job. I would've been swearing one minute in...lol!

    Great video. Love that mower, got the same one. It’s better than my 2019 Honda HRX by a lot!

    I've got a couple of suggestions. . . don't start in the middle of the repair. Showing the position of the pulley belt guard under the deck BEFORE you took it off would have been helpful. The same for the topside? You should have shown how you removed the plastic cover to access the rear pulley. Should also have shown the longer bolt for the bracket the covers that rear pulley has a spacer underneath. . . but I realize you might not even know that because you did not remove the bolt completely, only loosened it. The reason why I come to TH-cam and watch videos is not because I can't figure it out, but watching a video usually shortens the time I must spend to figure things out on my own, like in the days before TH-cam? But that said, I'm glad I watched and your video was beneficial to my task.

    I have the 2009 model. They used 3 Robertson square end screws to cover drive pulley. Wish they had used bolts like this. It would have been much easier to replace. I found away around difficulty with odd angles, and got it done. Wasn't too bad. $18 for Toro replacement belt though. In the end I could have simply adjusted the tension... the cable and belt likely stretched over the years, so I wasn't getting as much drive assist. The belt was worn, but had a few years left in it.

      Yeah, I don’t know why they did that! I found it was easiest to disconnect the drive cable completely so the gearbox could be pivoted for access since you can’t sneak an open end wrench onto those dang square heads. They did that on all of the newer big box store recyclers too, now getting the belt guard off is a big PITA whereas before it could be done in place. Dirt and grease get packed in those little square holes too, so now you’ve gotta clean them out first.

      @@mjg263 Great idea. I didn't think of disconnecting the drive cable. That seems like it would have made things musc easier. AND I'm glad my little square screw holes weren't full of dirt and grease. That would have made life tougher.

    I was wondering why the belt was so lose after the new one was installed. The last 2 mins really matters.

      @huck01955  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The drive works when you push down on the handel it tightens up the belt and makes it drive . Hope that helps

      @@huck01955 you know why I have an extra allen Bolt? I can't remember where it goes. Its a 8.8 Allen bolt but I can't figure out where it goes. I don't even see a hole for it. Worrys me a little. I appreciate you responding already and promise I would you again. Thanks in advance.

    I guess with out the guard around the belt when it snaps and hit`s the blade it could be exciting..LOL

      It’s a 3L340 belt for the older ones like this and it’s a 3L330 for the newer style with the blue flip up handle release levers. It’s best to look up the part number according to your mower’s model and serial number on the Toro website though, then look on eBay to see what belt size it converts to. For the newer style SR4 I’d go to NAPA Auto Parts and get the Kevlar version #3L330W for $8, it’s a better belt for less money. They should have the Kevlar version of the 3L340 belt for these older ones too. These mowers are awesome, too awesome to sell!
