2003 Toro Personal Pace Model 20017: Belt Replacement

Next up on the list is replacing the belt on the personal pace self propelled system. As always, I first remove the spark plug before beginning work.
This is an easy repair. The only tough spot is getting the belt on, and off the transmission side, which I will push between the pulley, and pivot bracket, with a screwdriver to remove. Then give the new belt a good pull, as it needs to squeeze between the belt guard, and transmission pulley.
After reassembly, I give a quick test, and the personal pace is once again, working well.

Pretty clean underside deck, spray some Fluid Film or similar, to keep the grass from sticking, further preserve the deck from rotting out.

Funny you mention that! It's self filming right now. I was installing the new belt guard, and the lower crank seal has failed, and slinging oil. Parts are ordered, and on the way. Meanwhile, since the '82 John Deere is running again, it will be the go to mower, until I get the oil leak fixed in the Toro. Pretty sure I have a can of Fluid Film in the hoard, to use, when repairs are made.
