It should have a battery isolator switch under the front cover ? My Mondial QV has, and I know F430's have them. Shouldn't need to plug your battery in for a two to three week storage. Thanks for the video. Oh just a word of advise, don't do track days.

Really enjoyed the review. Owning one of these myself I find it amusing to see the same quirks on other cars :p. The engine light is a problem I had as well, quick fix: unscrew fuel cap and screw it back on properly, then switch the battery of the car off and on again. Should be gone. Also there is a trickle charger port in de trunk, I find that one to be the most useful. And yes don't reverse up a hill, just replaced the clutch and it made me go bankrupt haha xD
Does the battery go flat because the car draws electricity from it for some system, even while the car is off? I have a sports car, and often go weeks between using it, it starts up immediately and quickly no problem, has for over 2 years!
I watch this video before and after I bought my 360 Spider period that makes a lot more sense after owning one and your review is spot-on. The stop button really confused me also. I love the sound of the exhaust.
Had same issue ref reversing up hill , burns out clutch on f1 real quick . Had 430 conversion, different story ….when car first came out under warranty
I never understood why ferrari owners never just spend $400-500 on a new light weight battery like the new anti-gravity "re-start" battery. i have one in my mr2 spyder and its amazing. weighs 3 lbs and if the battery gets too low on power it literally has a built in safety feature that shuts itself completely off and has a button on the battery for when you are ready for power again. had to use it a few times already due to leaving the car sitting for 2+wks without driving it. no "charger" needed.. P.s , i love the cat in the background trying to get in the car etc hahah
Great video! I just purchased a 2004 360 Spider here in Denver. I appreciate the tips and advice...especially about putting it in reverse up hill. We have friends in Sintra in Portugal and go there almost every year. When we're in Spain, I'll look you up and we can talk about our 360's. Cheers! Peter
Will do! Just picked my 360 up today. What a blast to drive! I'll post a video at some point. It's winter here, but we'll have some sunny driving days. Cheers!
Great video. I sold my 2003 Nero spider 360 manual 2 months ago because prices went crazy and I made a tidy profit. I now have a new 2016 Cayman GTS. I loved the Ferrari but it was time to move on. I owned it for 4 years and loved it. I had the both the starfish rims and the 430 rims (the only feature I preferred on the 430 over the 360). I had tubi exhaust - what a sound and what an occasion car. The feedback from the car - incredible. You are sitting so low that you get road rash on your ass LOL. Brilliant beautiful car. Enjoy. You are in the right country to enjoy it.
@@FezzaYT Enjoyed your presentation. I like the rims as they are. Love the engine viewing window, and the engine. Not to mention the sound. At 400 hp it must go like blazes compared to my 328. Your a fortunate fellow.
Always loved the design of this over the others, was tempted to buy but life changes prevented. Will still get if and when possible but with cream leather seats.
I have 04 spider F1 and my battery hold good charge for long time. since I drive her on almost daily base, I don't use trickle charge other than winter season. maybe you need to change your battery and replace that mirror, please. other than replacing clutch and brakes, no real problems with mine. bought it with just under 13k miles and now have little over 48k miles and going strong. next summer, I'll be driving new Huracan convertible and can't wait.
See my point above. I can leave my 360 for weeks and it will start no problem. I chose to top it up if not used for a couple of weeks just to be on the safe side.
Want to get one for weekends or merely for when I feel like being unpractical but not too certain on its reliability, living in Australia I wouldn’t want something to break when schlepping across the middle of nowhere.
I have an '07 Alfa 147, that has the same issue with the sticky plastic. Will try the WD40 trick. Had the pleasure of driving one of these, and a Gallardo. The Ferrari was much easier to drive; much lighter on the controls and much better visibility. A much easier car to live with I thought.
Hi could you do a video about your story. May be whilst driving your current Ferrari. Did you move from the UK , daily drudge to glorious Spain with a Fezza ? I’m intrigued and insure others must be ...
the problem with reverse if that's it's very high geared. The ratio is more like a second gear instead of a first so when reversing up a hill you get a lot of clutch slip and the smell is (financially) terrifying. It's like pulling out on a hill in second gear...it's just not a good idea. So you have to try and avoid situations that may require reversing up hills!
Hi friend Nice to hear from you, no, unfortunately I have not much time to run it, also because of the poor summer we've had here in Denmark the weather here is not like yours in spain, but in return have I built a little, send me your email so I can send you any pictures of it if you are interested in seeing my car, write if you were to visit the north one day. Dear Fezza, thanks for this excellent and very instructive video about your 360. I am toying with the idea of buying a 360 Spider with a stick shift. Do you think selling prices will go down? Or do you think they have already passed their lowest levels? Many thanks!
@@FezzaYT Thank you very much for your prompt response. I'm in Germany. On www.mobile.de rosso manual 360 Spiders in good condition, known history and complete service record are about 75-80K Euro.
I've listened to your last 5 videos while working on something, as you're very interesting. You explain things perfectly in a way that anybody who has ever wanted a Ferrari can relate to. Why not a classic Dino or daytona next time?
Other than the oddly rounded front bumper, the 360 is a great design. MUCH better than the f430 imo. The air scoop on the f430 is hideous and out of place. It looks tacked on.
I really want a 360. It's about the only 'more modern' Ferrari I have any hopes of attaining within a decade lol. Hopefully I can find one in a few years or so :D
it's very good. When you really look hard you can see that there are a couple of things they could have done better but overall it's excellent. The entire car was done, I think they must have stripped it of everything to paint it so thoroughly.
Great review! I drove a manual 360 Berlinetta two months ago and it felt surprisingly similar in terms of seating position, controls and feel to my old MX-5! One big difference however is that the 360 seemed to ride like it was on double cream.. Absolutely smooth ride.
Interesting piece and thanks for posting. I have a Ferrari 360 and don't suffer the same battery challenges you have. I did 5 miles in Dec and 15 in Jan and topped the battery up twice to full again. This took around 12 hours for each. My immobiliser is also different and is original so clearly not all the same in every car. Interior is purely personal preference. Led to believe the car sits the height it does as standard due to potential issues that lowering it has which you are experiencing. Easy to rectify. Challenge grill is something that we both have and I do agree it does look better to me as well but again a personal choice. Disappointed with your "heap of crap" comment on the 348. That comment offers no value to anyone but if you have driven one and a 355 your comments would have been of interest. You buttons need a full refurb. Check out the Ferrari forums for recommended firms to do it. Got to say lights going on is not standard and I would check that out. Finally point, very good point regarding reversing up hill. Never ever do it.
thanks for the comment! I think I use my car much more than you do...I am doing about 10,000km a year! Yes, I need to do my sticky buttons. Just haven't had time. I think my battery issue is down to the radio so I have disabled it and will see what happens!
You are clearly doing some epic mileage and seem to be enjoying everyone of them. Good for you. Your climate is much better than mine for using the car so you are a lucky man. I can't comment on the radio but there could be something there as mine is disabled. Exhaust vs radio. You clearly know which is best running the Capristo!
I have a 2001 360 F1...love the car. Like you, I (and many others) agree that it is probably the most beautiful of the modern Ferraris. I like the roundness of the styling that you mentioned...more like a woman than a Star Wars Darth Vader/Storm Trooper! My only issue is having to baby the clutch, but once under way, fantastic! I had a choice of this 360 or a 430 at the time of purchase; the 360 won on looks alone. How much extra horse power does one really need on the road??
decent review after all, although - one thing doesn't make sense. you like to work your car? you didn't bother getting the manual? anyway. great car - and a straightforward review.
+1. Didn't like the design of the 360 for a long time. Too "jellybean" but then a couple years ago it suddenly struck me "Y'know what...it's rather timeless" and then I bought one. :)
I am going to do a video with the 2 cars in September. Just waiting for August to go as it's heaving with tourists at the moment and it's a nightmare trying to get anything done.
I am thinking of buying one for myself, 2004 model showed up on the ad, kinda scares me that it would break down .... I want PPI but I wonder whether this is possible in this country(currently assigned in Philippines)...cuz mechanics here are really really not trustworthy...........or a bit less trained I must say....
I'm thinking about getting one of theses or a 348 or 355 what are the carrying costs of these ? And maintenance costs on these? I have money but not a lot lol. Looking for one that's not a major headache. Also how much are oil changes on these cars . Thanks again ! Cheers!
costs really depend on whether you use an independent garage or a proper dealer. I use an independent which saves a lot of money on the upkeep of these cars. I think costs vary from garage to garage. Best thing to do is join the Ferrari Chat forum and check out all of the really helpful threads on there. Lots of people there who give excellent advice...much better than me!
Second FerrariChat.com 348 is the red haired step child, so you can get one cheap right now. I like the looks, but it drives like a tractor. 355 is much better. Last of the aggressive, straight line look. First time F1 was used in a street production car (not very good) and the price has shot up by 50% in the last 18 months. Cost now same or more as a 360. 360 first of its generation, with the rounded lines. F1 works and is a lot of fun. 430 evolution of the 360 with many improvements, including F1, more horsepower (and lighter engine, think it is a Mazerati engine), slimmer look, and a "start" button on the steering wheel :) All of the above are equally expensive to own. Yearly service at Ferrari is EUR 2000.00 Insurance is another EUR 2000.00 (full year) Something will need replacing every year (brakes, tires, etc) another EUR 2000.00 and then every four years you need to do a "full service", usually engine out, new clutch, time belt (not 430) and everything checked, this will run you EUR 10000.00
Nice car, but the buttons and instrument cluster are very cheap looking. I'm a bit surprised. Seems like Ferarri focused more on the styling of the body, and just rested on their laurels with the interior, knowing people would buy it anyway because of the brand.
completely agree. The interior is quite a let down. There are plenty of aftermarket carbon and other options to enhance the cabin and some are very good...but personally I don't care, all I care about is the noise it makes :)
Fezza They do sound insane, and after body styling, yes, the engine sound is really what matters. Ferrari excels at both. And wow, very nice home and beautiful area you live in. If my son sticks with his Spanish studies throughout high school, I'm bringing him to Spain as a reward. I've traveled the World, but never Spain. Enjoyed your videos.
does it really need a trickle charger or the battery dies in 5 days? I would think your battery needs replacing or the car has a power draw for some reason.
I think there is a power draw somewhere but even so, they don't last too long when not connected to a charge which is why they are supplied with one ;)
Just 1 remark. If your battery holds only 5-6 days, that's not specific to this car's issue. Either your car bettery is old and needs replacement, either you have a parasite on the car's electrical system which needs to be fixed. It is NOT normal for a battery do go dead in 5-6 days, especially in warm weather conditions.
+LoveGod16 it's a new battery. I changed it as I thought that may have been the issue but then I discovered that many other owners have similar short battery lives. What do you suggest should be the right battery life for a car like this when not used?
Fezza.es: I'm not sure, but 5-6 days is definitely not normal on warm weather with a new battery. I've seen cars start even after 2 weeks no problems in cold weather. Go to a car service and ask them to check the car's electrical system for parasites(electronics in the car that uses power even though ignition is off). Maybe it's a common issue on this model, that's why many report the issue.
I did speak to the Ferrari mechanic about this before we replaced the battery but he didn't really flinch when I told him it could barely hold charge for week. It's as if it was quite normal. I will get him to check for any possible losses that could be causing it to go flat quicker than it should.
It has no reason to go flat vs other cars. Why would it? It's like putting it on a shelf. It won't discharge faster on a shelf made by Ferrari vs one made by anyone else. Unless something is draining it, which is NOT normal. Have it checked and report back if you found anything :)
Three very different cars. The 599 and 612 are V12s so more costly to maintain. I have driven a 612 and if you need 4 seats it's actually surprisingly good to drive. The 360 is a good first Ferrari but if you can stretch to a F430 it's a big leap up on the 360 and I love mine :)
@@FezzaYT the first Ferrari I ever drove was a Manual gated 430 B..... awesome car.... If I found the spec I like, but it was a an F1, would it be worth spending the $ and turn it into a gated manual?
@@kimbland2614 If you go on the Ferrari chat forums you'll see discussions about people who have done this. It's not cheap though. May be better just trying to find a manual

decent review after all, although - one thing doesn't make sense. you like to work your car? you didn't bother getting the manual? anyway. great car - and a straightforward review.
+JurisKankalis very hard to find a manual version here in Spain. Nearly all are paddle shift
JurisKankalis I
That cat is awesome... :-P
Your usual good job...Muchas gracias Que tengas una vida buena
Gracias :)
A Espana Tu tienes mucho suerte Viviendes en Espana y tienes un Ferarri
+1. Didn't like the design of the 360 for a long time. Too "jellybean" but then a couple years ago it suddenly struck me "Y'know what...it's rather timeless" and then I bought one. :)
I really do love the look of the car now, I think it's look superb :)
i love it its always been my dream car maybe one day if i win the lottery
the rear looks better than the 458
lol
top video keep it up:-) the noise love it cheers steve
thanks mate!
your smile on start up 😂 👌
:)
I would love to know how the speed and handling compares to your new RS
Crazy to think how similar they might actually be
I am going to do a video with the 2 cars in September. Just waiting for August to go as it's heaving with tourists at the moment and it's a nightmare trying to get anything done.
You da man.
Like your vid - where in Spain do you live?
Thanks. I live in the South of Spain, on the Costa del Sol

348 is the red haired step child, so you can get one cheap right now.
430 evolution of the 360 with many improvements, including F1, more horsepower (and lighter engine, think it is a Mazerati engine), slimmer look, and a "start" button on the steering wheel :)
All of the above are equally expensive to own.
Very informative- fellow Brit.
thanks, glad you found it useful :)
Enjoyed your videos.
thanks mate! It is nice around here but my particular reason for living here is....lack of traffic! I just hate traffic!!
I love the cat :)
Your cat is adorable.
6:07 What a scene stealer!! She(?) might know something about car!
does it really need a trickle charger or the battery dies in 5 days? I would think your battery needs replacing or the car has a power draw for some reason.
I think there is a power draw somewhere but even so, they don't last too long when not connected to a charge which is why they are supplied with one ;)
Fezza wrong. They supplied it with one for winter storage which is what many owners do. Great Video though 👍
Will do!
Would you recommend a 360 as a first ferrari?? I am more partial to a 599, or 612 scaglietti?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello
Did you sell your car?
