    Heh, I think navigating a Home Depot parking lot can be a challenge all in of itself, trailer or not lol. Our local Home Depot has a tight parking lot. People whip in and out without looking. I've almost been hit (truck and on foot) many times.

    Curious why you wouldn’t just go to a landscaping company and get the rock delivered or use your dump trailer? I would think it would be cheaper in the long run.

    I love the trailer light test I can start from either the app or touchscreen in my 2021 Silverado 2500, I start it on the app as I'm walking to the back of the trailer and then just watch the sequence to make sure they are all good! I upgraded to LED bulbs on the trailer after watching your videos. I like my home depot better, big open lot for getting in with a trailer!

    Always good seeing the equipment in use. The “friends” circle gets bigger as people find out you have the trailers. Since you know your trailers have good wiring, using the hazards/4 way is ok to check the lights. I have rented trailers and found the left and right trailer lights switched. So my first check on a foreign trailer is to use the individual turn signals. Both our local DIY stores have parking slots for customers with trailers. I also have a Seiko, Casios’ and GShocks. Also Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Snoopy watches. If we had a good watch maker, I would have them working. So for now, when I need to wear a watch, it is an Ecodrive. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.

    I would definitely cut the legs of of the gate and install screw jacks on the back end to help load heavy items. I installed pipe legs on the back of my trailer that I made and that helped a ton when loading pallets of retaining wall bricks. The only problem was that the legs used a bolt to adjust the position. They got stuck on one heavy load and they had to pick up the back of the trailer with the forklift so I could release them. Screw jacks would have been better. I do also hate swing down back gates. As you just had the problem of loading a pallet. I made mine as a side swinging gate. That way a forklift could get right up to the back of the trailer. Anyways your trailer is real nice.

    Guy with sod in his half ton Ford reminded me of a guy that was in line in front of me at a landscape supply business and wanted 3 yards of wet, and I mean wet sand in his F 250. Guy behind the counter says it's too much weight especially with all the rain we have been getting so it's even heavier than normal. F250 says let's try it and if it's too much I'll only take half and come back for the rest. I am getting the exact same thing 3 yrds of sand for an above ground pool we are installing. I tell the guy I have an F450. He says same thing to me it's too much weight. This place is a drive through yard. I drive back and watch the F250 guy who was in line in front of me getting his 3 yrds of sand and the loader driver just dumps it on. Truck goes right to the bump stops on the rear axle. F 250 guy pulls out like - no concern here. I get up to get my load and the loader driver says, hey not sure if your truck can handle the load we just had a similar truck an F350 4 door here yesterday and it squatted so much the front tires almost came off the ground and the guy could hardly steer. I said you just put 3 yrds in a F250 and thought nothing of it. He says yeah that was a single cab and the front axle takes some of the load. I said it will be fine just load me up. It was like a show, guy came out that sold me the sand, 2 other yard guys came over to watch me get loaded and the guy loading me - so 4 store employees to see me get loaded. My wife and I are like what's this all about. They load the 3.5 - more like 4 ( done on purpose no doubt to teach me a lesson ) yrds of sand in my truck and it squats the truck past level and maybe an 1.5" lower in the rear. Truck handles the load no problem. These guys were all ready with their cameras thinking the same thing is going to happen to my 4 door King Ranch 450 that happened to the 4 door F350. They were like this thing is bad ass, handled the load no problem. They all took pictures and said they were definitely impressed. So we are now on our way home. I needed to make a fuel stop and we stopped at a Taco Bell and got lunch to go. Brought the kids home lunch to con them into helping with unloading them sand. After topping off with fuel and food we continued on heading for home, about a 25 minute drive with our load. We get about 5 minutes into our drive and there is the F250 guy on the shoulder of the road that got his load before me with a broken right rear spring and almost rolled into the ditch. To get his vehicle off the road far enough he was on the edge of the ditch. With the lean of the shoulder towards the ditch it looks like this thing will be on it side and in the ditch at any minute. I said to my wife he should of bought an F450 as we drive on by. He had more than plenty of help so I didn't stop. We needed a second load later in the day and went back for another 3 yards at the same place and they were still broke down on the side of the road 6 hours later. They had about 1/2 the load out so at least it wasn't going to roll into the ditch any longer.

    Individually bagged rock is expensive. Too bad there isn’t a quarry or soil yard near you where you could pick it up. Would the bar code on the bag give you the weight?

  • @ron1584
    @ron1584 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    They could of used an empty pallet to push the pallet of rocks forward. You should of had a pallet and then stacked the bags of rocks on it that you moved forward. By not strapping the bags of rocks down DOT consider that a lose load and you can get fined for it and it doesn't matter if your commercial or not. If you were in an accident and the police showed up they could issue tickets ect. for them being lose. If the load is strapped down and bags of rocks fall off the stack it is considered part of the accident. Always stop after you travel a short distance and check your straps as the load shifts and settles. Love your videos and testing of different products. Did you decide what bench or chairs you are going to put around the fire pit by the trailer?

    • @xtanon5540

      When I worked in commercial flooring we'd throw a pallet on top as well, then strap it down from the top pallet. I think it was overkill but it worked.

    No matter what people say about your trailers, if I had the means I could justify 10 different trailers. 1-2 will never be as multipurpose as one would hope.
    We live on a farm in Nebraska and Raise Boer goats on our channel. I have a gooseneck livestock trailer and for what I would look at first is a deck over. Growing up in the seed corn business and with livestock feed I’ve always needed unobstructed pallet loading. On a low deck fenders impede loading ability without stacking an extra pallet to clear fenders for weight transfer. On and on. Keep adding trailers and trying different things with them, it will show all the keyboard experts why you need them all. If need be if they didn’t have the other forklift have them grab a scab pallet and they could set it on top of a couple empties from the side.

    Don't think you can remove the feet on the trailer ramp/tailgate without adding material to the hinge in the middle to create a hard stop point. Otherwise it will just fold down flat at the hinge when you put weight on it.

    This trailer looks so insanely over priced for how useless it is. Looks like the only thing it is really good for is hauling vehicles. That pallet definitely should have been closer to the front of the trailer for safe towing, the reach truck driver should have been able to load that pallet from the side instead of from the back. You probably would have gotten a ticket for having those lose bags sitting there considering your sides have big holes in them.
