I got four kids, two dogs, and a cat and my wife and I were about to sell our house and start this life. So thank you for uploading these type of videos. Very helpful. She’s a traveling nurse and we want to be together now
I really like the integrated bed scale, it's great information to have 'before' you hit the road. The rear pinstripe is cool and all but I prefer a cleaner, uninterrupted look on the rear flare.
The technology and ability to have a trailer library is just awesome. Get your preferences set, the light test is great (especially if you are working solo). Having the odometer is great-can help give a real world estimate of how far the trailer has travelled and when maintenance is needed.
JD sharp looking rig with the trailer. I like the pin strip on both front and back, I own a 2022 450Larit and that was before the bed scale. Nice to see the up dates the new trucks!!!
Very nice truck! One of the big upgrades we did for our F-350 SRW was to change the OEM fuel tank with a nearly 70-gallon tank. It fits in the same space as the OEM tank. We also installed an air compressor inside the frame, located under the right passenger seat. We pull a 38 ft 5er.
Nice setup, and I really like the bed scale. I was skeptical about the bed scale when I first heard about it, but not anymore. I have a combo 45 gal fuel tank/tool box in my 22 F450, and with 3k-3.2k pin weight I'm around the same rear axle weight as you are. Thanks for showing everything.
Nice looking truck and trailer. 11:46. Things I’ve learned on my 24 F350 platinum- That is a whole truck scale, not just a bed scale. The 150 is just an average driver weight ford puts in there that can be changed (not sure where they get that from, I’m way over😂). Above the payload number up there, if you tap the 3 bars, you can change it to an actual scale if you need to and it is surprisingly accurate. Hopefully that helps you with that feature.
1) Interesting video. 2) That auto light check feature is a neat feature. Sure beats walking back and forth from front to rear checking each taillight and turn signal. 2) Keep the pinstripes.
I had a goosebox and with as much as I tow it was a deletion. Glad to see the new truck working for you. Strongly debating doing a truck upgrafe shortly.
The Ford Pass app used to have the trailer light check built in. Incredibly useful and convenient. Ford took that away, but hasn't implemented the trailer light check on the head unit for F150 owners yet.
When I was a kid, we would go camping with my grandparents every summer for a month. They were pulling out of my parents driveway and had left the steps to the 5th wheel out. My parents had an old stump next to the driveway. Let's just say that the stump was removed and the stairs were mangled.
I always leave power plugged in until the trailer is on the truck. It seems to help with voltage to the box for the jacks. I’ve had low voltage issues with the system since it was new.
I have the exact same setup. I use a magnetic telescope ball. I stick it to the back edge of the goose ball plate and back up to the “S” on the REESE 20K emblem and as soon as it starts to bend forward stop the truck. Just eyeball it out the back window. You’ll be right on target.
Mattress Insider 9" memory foam, weighs about 1/2 what you have and it's really comfortable. We've had it for 6 years now and it's better than our Tempurpedic at home.
I have 24 350 dually lariat I like how it will keep track of Miles for each trailer you add helps keep track of trailer maintenance beautiful truck and rv combo I went with black truck and have a momentum toy hauler so the black and white looks nice with black truck
I think it's really cool to tow these huge trailers, real houses on wheels, and it's even cooler that your government encourages caravanning and its roads and streets are well structured to receive them, here in Brazil it's the opposite, most cities don't allow it. At your entrance, most campsites cannot support a trailer of this size, and the Winnebago and Jayco are often sold here but only in small sizes, entering urban centers with a trailer of this size is an impossible task, narrow streets and signage downtown we are trying to change the laws to encourage caravanning here, I hope that in the future it will be different, hugs
JD, i see you jave a solar panel on your good neck, and was wondering what you use it for? I need to keep my batteries charged in Alaska's winter, and solar might ne the way to go. Any information would be appreciated.
Believe me I'm not rv person, don't even own one. Your video just popped up and suggested I purchased a new 2023 F450 although it's just an XLT not the fancy platinum carrying capacity is 5135 on it I pull a triple axle deuce neck triple tandem with a John Deere 700 dozer. I have the tongue indicator built on the trailer and routinely have 8 to 10,000 pounds on the tongue handles it like a champ But then again most of my travels are within 50 miles of my homebase not like an RV going across the United States Also sure like the looks of that truck I bet it looks sharp going down the road
I have the GooseBox as well but my Shrader valve is on the underside. I got a valve extender kit and now I have it mounted to the side of the GooseBox.
JD, On your last rsd F450, did the Centramatics wheel balancers solve the passanger side seat vibration? I've looked at Balance Masters for my 21 F450, because it's very very noticeable. I'll more than likely be adding the driveshaft balancers too.
Hey JD, I hope you're having a great day! I really like everything that your new F450 gives you and all the different things that you can do when you hitch up your fifth wheel. The scale that you have in the bed of your truck is great an the check list that you have on the infotainment screen is spot on . I figured the back end of your truck would have been Squatted alittle bit but you can't even tell that you have weight in the bed of your truck. Have a super great trip and be safe my friend! Happy 4TH of JULY JD!!!! Your number one fan an friend Leonard from North Carolina.
Look at Helix mattresses... I have a bad back and I sleep like a dead man on this mattress. All done online, great return program... you won't be disappointed.
You need to do something else with the ninja what happens when you have a emergency stop? It goes someplace..you might think it'll never move but when you slam hard on the brakes it probably will go into something..
I don't think I saw before that you use the gooseneck connection. Is that a setup you'd actually fully recommend? I like a gooseneck much more than the massive, standard hitch setup but have read in some facebook pages it's not the best. That was a little over a year ago though.
I love your videos. I’m new to your channel so forgive me if you covered this in another video, can you tow this size RV with a 1 ton srw? Specifically, I’m looking at the Brinkley z3610, so it’s a little bit smaller and lighter overall.
Do you have a furrion backup camera on that trailer and if so did it work. I can't get my cameras to turn on my Riverstone 2024 39RKFB. Tried turning headlights on truck still not working. I have a 2024 F450 limited and the Air conditioner went out at 1600 miles. Ford says the compressors are on back order. Hope you have better luck with your truck.
How about an air mattress, technology has to be pretty good in that area these days and they have to be better and that would light. Or a water bed and just fill it up when you get to your spot 😂
If the bed scales don’t give you the amount of weight you just added when you put the weight of the trailer on the ball it just gives you the lights and bar graph, what is the point? Still a guessing game.
The bed scale seems kinda gimmicky seeing it doesn't actually give you any values. I also don't like the pin stripe in either location. Why didn't they make the mirror position programmable and assigned to the trailer profile. Just my opinion so treat it like any other youtube comment from a nobody that matters 😊
You've probably talked about it before, but what's the advantage of a gooseneck ball versus a 5th wheel style hitch? I know the ball can be flipped or removed more easily than the full 5th wheel hitch but is there another advantage with towing, maneuvering, etc?
first thing I noticed when I dropped my gate, was that camera really doesn't help for trailering. Like you said the perspective is a bit off to use in close proximity. I also had a hard time just backing up across the yard using the top gate camera, vs the normal tailgate camera, definitely learning curve.
Did you mention it/did I miss how many camera's does that have? I've got a 2020 Silverado Dually LTZ with (I think I just counted in my head correctly) 5. Front grill, side mirrors, rear brake light for the bed view, tail gate (when closed usage. I think I counted them all.....) That open tailgate camera is certainly something I have wanted many times when backing to load the 5r. That one looks like it would complete the set up. It looks like you've got the same stuff on the head unit for pulling what ever needed. Fancy stuff I found about this truck, being the nicest vehicle I've ever owned, taking me right around 4 months to stop finding something new to learn about with the features! On the next 5th wheel we'll be upgrading to this next year I"m going to get the wired camera's for the head unit to be able to communicate with to get the aerial and all sides on one screen, head unit. It will also show the "Invisible trailer" option.
@@BTBRVReviews Very nice. I guess, back 4 years ago the 5 I have was "good enough" for the tech! Wishing you well JD. Always appreciate the work you do for all of us subs and watchers of your work.
I was wanting to ask you if Battery Disconnect switches are a good idea to prevent theft and battery drain on your truck or RV. Is that something you have considered?
I learned a long time ago... If the wife thinks it looks good and it doesn't bother you... Leave it. 😂
I learnt a long time ago.... if wife gets any ideas around you, change wife asap
I got four kids, two dogs, and a cat and my wife and I were about to sell our house and start this life. So thank you for uploading these type of videos. Very helpful. She’s a traveling nurse and we want to be together now
My wife is the same. Just bought camper and are hitting the road this month for full time.
Well I guess you need to take out the coffee maker? LOL! Sacrafices must be made.

I hit the disable rear sensors button above your screen when I back up to my hitch. That truck is sweet.
That new truck looks so good and I'm sure it will perform flawlessly
Beautiful rig, enjoy!
Wow! That whole set up looks absolutely beautiful !!!! Better then before because the truck matches the trailer.
super helpful. thankyou. post more vids of that setup!
JD sharp looking rig with the trailer. I like the pin strip on both front and back, I own a 2022 450Larit and that was before the bed scale. Nice to see the up dates the new trucks!!!
Brooklyn Bedding. Great mattresses
Love the way the white truck looks with the Brookstone!
Beautiful combination! Congratulations!
It all looks great 👍
Brooklyn Bedding, Baby. Mine weighs 50 lbs. and it is wonderful ‼️
I'd keep BOTH pin stripes . . they make it look more "uniform", like it was factory installed - a real nice detail.
Great technology and thank you so much for sharing. 😎👍
Nice looking setup, pinstripes are awesome.

That totally does. I'm learning something new everyday. Thank you
Sharp looking setup! Nice looking truck. Stripes add some definition!
How is your gas mileage with the High Output motor 65, 70 mph on flat surface?
1) Interesting video.
2) That auto light check feature is a neat feature. Sure beats walking back and forth from front to rear checking each taillight and turn signal.
2) Keep the pinstripes.
Love the truck and the stripes are a nice add on!!
That is a great truck. Nice features for sure.
It's nice man😂😂😂
I had a goosebox and with as much as I tow it was a deletion.
That 5.0 or whatever update ruined the app. I got the APK for an older version, works great.
Man that’s a beautiful truck
Nice rig. I have a F-350 XLT that I tow our Durango with, I"m impressed with the features on yours.
It’s hard to believe that trailer weighs that much… I was expecting right at 3k, great video and demonstration!
3k? My 2024 20’ is over 3600lb dry I have one of the smallest campers made Jeep pulls it with ease
Man that is a awesome setup I love it, can't wait to hear how she tow.😊
Excellent! Looks great! Can’t wait to see how she pulls!

Amazing truck! Beautiful spec
A lot of goodies 😊

Nice to see how the new stuff works
Nice truck great video. We leave a quarter of fresh watervin tanks it takes around 480 pounds of 5thwheel.
I bought the angle adapter for my Reese goosebox based on your recommendation, game changer. So much easier.
Do you recommend using air bags verse an additional spring to raise the back end that sags. Pulling with 1500 Ram. Thanks
This set up looks a whole lot better than the red truck. Just my opinion! Looks cleaner.
We are getting out of Texas in a week to head up to the mountains too. Texas heat is getting worse the older I get. LOL
Gorgeous truck. I am definitely envious !
I have 24 350 dually lariat I like how it will keep track of Miles for each trailer you add helps keep track of trailer maintenance beautiful truck and rv combo I went with black truck and have a momentum toy hauler so the black and white looks nice with black truck
Great Video Always Learning Something New Thank You 🙏
Accent line makes the fender flairs look bolt on.. I like :)
Looks really sharp. Good choice of colour of truck
Good looking set up..been thinking about going to new hitch..
It looks amazing together!
Good looking tow rig and trailer
Can u power the camper with the connection to the truck that get the lites and turn signals?
Looking Good!!!
Great looking rig
Good looking truck/fifth wheel setup. I'm looking forward to your video on the driving experience with the new truck versus your old truck.

Nice setup
Does the parking brake engage every time you put it in park or just when the drivers door is open and you place it in park?
Amazon Basics 12" memory foam mattress cut down to size with an electric carving knife. Very economical, and incredibly comfortable!
Does the trailer light check checks the hazard lights? I didn’t see the hazards get checked.
Why do you use the offset ball puck system in a full size / long bed?
Where did you find that magnetic holder (attached to the side of the Goosebox) for the breakaway cable?
That is a sweet rig. Congrats!
Look at Helix mattresses... I have a bad back and I sleep like a dead man on this mattress. All done online, great return program... you won't be disappointed.

Does the trailer hook up assist work with a 5th wheel or a goose neck trailer as well, like when you use it on a bumper pull trailer ???
JD, I just had a Gen Y gooseneck hitch installed two weeks ago. The installer told me to cross the chains.
Nice rig!
If the bed scales don’t give you the amount of weight you just added when you put the weight of the trailer on the ball it just gives you the lights and bar graph, what is the point? Still a guessing game.
Were you on your helper springs? What was you total scale weigh once you drove it off the pad?
Nice job
Great looking rig... pinstripe looks good...could always find a grafix detailer and get some matching grafix for the truck to the coach...😊
Beautiful
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 Dam that got me roll'n put an RV on a diet jajajaajaja
