Man classic vanilla (2019) was an amazing experience. So many good memories. Almost as good as O-G Vanilla. Now it's 2022 and I'm using this guide for Darrowshire.
Update
Its 2024 and I'm using this guide for Deviate Delight Fresh.
Still 2022 and im using this guide for everlook
2023 and I’m using these guides on Classic Era!
Hello 2024 I will using the guide wow classic)
Using this guide for Turtle WoW
2024 and I'm using this guide for classic era - deviate delight!
Anyone else watch these even though they have no interest in playing mage? lol These videos and just filled with such knowledge. TY KARGOZ!
Lol for this one no, because since I’ve started playing mage i can’t go back. But I watched his guide for hunter and warlock even tho I know I won’t be playing either. The videos were just that good.
Now we know where to go to gank all the mages before they get to powerful :P
Once you go mage, you never go back
everyone knows that hunter will be an overused class
yeah I'm watching all the classic and vanilla vids. At the end of Kargoz guides I'm like...aw yeah I may play that class...Still can't decide >_< @Rashini nah man rouges
I'm so fucking glad you decided to make these videos available again. I WAS SO SAD WHEN YOU PRIVATED THEM I HAVE SO MUCH NOSTALGIA OF WAITING FOR CLASSIC LAUNCH AND WATCHING THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
2024 fresh realm hype
Crazy how much time you put down on these, appreciate it dude
Mage is what I leveled in vanilla and still play to this day, and I am super aware I made many mistakes in vanilla about how I played, which is why I am thankful for this in depth guide. Just to compare and understand :D
Happy to see these back up. Sometimes I just watch these instead of playing when I need to scratch my classic itch. Holding off for a fresh server until I come back!
2 weeks later and they announced fresh classic. LETSGOOOO
Just started a mage, I have been playing wow since its release but there are a lot of informations I had never heard about and your presentation is really clean and you aren't wasting time on over-explaining things. I usually never say that but this is by far the best information video about WoW I have seen on TH-cam.
Minor piece of feedback: I'd love to see the tooltip as you're speaking about each talent. The windowed mode with backdrop cuts everything off
Game: 3 lvls ahead of you = 16% to miss
When actually casting 3 lvls ahead: 99% miss
🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
*99% resist. That's the base hit chance. That's not accounting for resistances. Vanilla mob resistances were retarded. It's part of the reason grinding at certain spots is totally pointless for certain specs, like frost when you're in silverpine. Things also tend to have much higher frost resistance than fire resistance for whatever reason.
@@misanthropy6690 that's why I went fire to AOE lvl
@@Ithrial420 then you better farm gold with portals and food because fire spec is useless for many raid bosses in molten core and blackwing lair
@@swishsplash you misunderstood what I meant I went fire from level 1 to 22 then I swaped the frost so that I could AOE
@@Ithrial420 No i didnt misunderstand. My point was that respecing in vanilla costs alot
Just started the game for the first time 2 days ago. Playing as a mage, and your video is a lot of help. Thanks for the video
You will not have a problem with money, just raid gear competition
2024 is asking + How did it go?
For anyone attempting to use the macro's in classic WoW, you won't be able to call SpellStopCasting() as it's now marked as protected. Instead, just replace the /script SpellStopCasting() line with /stopcasting, which works
14-year WoW vet here and I must say, phenomenal guide my friend. Well done! Subbed for life.
honestly im not even a mage player but i still watched the whole thing bcs its such a great art piece. well done kargoz pls dont stop making content
Been going through and watching all of your leveling guides. I'm an alt-oholic and cant stick with one character. These have been a great help in easing the some of the pains of leveling multiple alts.
Also im glad Tmugs and North were so hyped to be a part of this : )
Really appreciate the effort that goes into these longer form videos you make. Your love for this fantastic game is evident.
The eternal struggle between shaving off seconds and pulling the needle...
Never ever played a caster(mained warrior vanilla to WoD) after a hard struggle I think you helped me pick my main and thats being a mage. Thank you :D
370z lemus so you chose the most broken class in the game. Congrats for your hard decision. Not lol
Killa Beatz I can taste the salt from here. Let me guess, warrior that has to tank to make gold? Lol
Watched these back in 2019 when i decided to give classic wow a try. Now watching them again as Classic is relaunching in 2024 lol. Love these Guides!!!
nice, i'm getting hyped so much watching all your high-quality content. can't wait. damn
The wait is over!
EASILY my favorite class guide you've put out! There's some seriously killer details in here, and it provides a lot of insight. The vanilla mage is clearly a great example of blizzard's borrowed idea of "easy to learn, difficult to master".
Thanks bro! I’m a bit of a warrior addict from vanilla, but mage was always my second favorite. I’ll probably be maiming mage in classic.
severely underrated content and overall creator, deserves a lot more praise and respect !!! you single-handedly convinced me to roll mage in classic!
Seeing this after covid era and the great classic comeback.. i miss 2019-2020 classic time and pre private server era without servers dying rapidly
Rolled up a mage a few weeks ago. Was having an awful time. Super squishy, getting killed left and right, constant downtime... Finally hit 20, re-specced to Frost. Soloing 3 mobs at a time, teleporting around to whatever capital I choose, getting TONS of green drops, vendor trash, and AH fodder. Just having a blast. Those first 20 levels do indeed SUCK and are slow-going, but when you hit 20, being a mage kinda rules. I used a LOT of the info here m specifically the talent trees and wand progression, and it's like night and day. Thanks for posting this!
These videos are a great watch! Thanks for taking the time to break down the info which I think is very appropriate for the up coming classic wow! - Looking forward to the shaman!
thanks man i appreciate your continued support
Watching this before classic launches later today! thanks for the great info
Same, Undead Frost Mage here we go.
same! human mage named "DocStrange"
I must recreate my Gnome Frost Mage! "Fumblemore"
Thanks for this.. I was in original Wow and no idea what I was doing as to talent trees . Gave up on mage. This time in Classic understand need to quest on my level with a friend. Live longer lol. The charts and explanations are outstanding. Need this for classes ...the best places to be for level.
I'm just getting in to wow and brand new to gaming in general and the loads of jargon is a bit of a hindrance to absolute beginners but I think this is good and concise and will be useful after some more time playing. I've actually naturally fallen in to some of these patterns so I'm confident that he knows what he's talking about, I can tell he's done his research and whatnot👍 we appreciate the effort and grind!
Sweet. Been waiting for this. Rolled paladin and warrior back in the day. Switched to mage during wrath. Going to roll mage when blizzard releases wow classic. You’re videos are awesome.
You're a babe!! I searched for this video a couple of hours ago and couldn't find a mage guide on your channel. Then you upload one , You're truly a master of the arcane. Thanks!!
Keep in mind that Lesser Magic Wand (as all other crafted wands) received a buff in a later vanilla patch and therefor are weaker on earlier patches (For example: lightshope server is on 1.5 and Lesser Magic Wand is a ~6dps wand)
Awesome video man, loving your guides. Just my two cents on some aoe grinding, frost/ice armour is pretty helpful before you have a mount, when your running through packs, face pulling to gather a group it means that each mob will hit you only once and it doesn't split the pack up too much if each mob gets the chill effect. Enchant boots with run speed is also amazing to have before 40. Oh and there's a nifty spot for horde in ashenvale for levels 24-26 ish, theres a furblog cave north east of zoram strand. It has a couple quest objectives related to it however there is an upper level with 2 large groups of lvl 23-24 mobs that has virtually no traffic. I say it's good for horde as there will be a lot of horde doing the quests keeping you safe from ally ganking while they don't have any reason to mess with your packs. Have yet to see it on any aoe grind area guide so maybe it only works on northdale. Curious if anyone else has utilized it as I did for a solid 6 levels in what felt like no time
First day of Classic and the biggest cause of death for my Mage has been Dehydration!
Wand it up lol
These videos are amazing - honestly thank you for the tile you’re putting in. Buzzing for classic. Used to play Mage and had him at. Lvl 39 twink. Want to play it to 60. Keep up the top work.
The detail is rare on vanilla and highly commendable.
What you playing in vanilla?
For all those asking for Paladin. Here you go: Heal.
HANDS DOWN The best leveling guides Ive ever seen on TH-cam. Looking forward to see more guides from you. Perhaps some pvp tactics, farming guides, BG guides (which rolls certain classes have etc)
Really helpful guide, having a lot of fun trying it out. I'd probably remove the Syndicate humans from the AoE grinding spots, though. There are like 10 of them total, they're on a long respawn timer, and they apply crippling poison, which makes it hard to pull them without getting slowed.
nice vid am starting to lvl now first time classic ever
Holy crap, I literally only heard about vanilla servers this week, rolled a mage, and here you are. :D
YES! Thanks kargoz :) Currently leveling my mage on Elysium, before I get my hands on classic wow on blizzcon. Great job. I suggest you make guides on topics like:
Proffesion leveling and moneymaking
Best leveling spots(AOE for example)
Level 60 rare mobs that drop cool items for upgrade
Raid/pvp class guides
I’m really enjoying your content for the last few weeks before the classic demo. Thanks brotha!
thank u bro it means a lot knowing some ppl can enjoy this type of content
The more I watch these, the more I realize why I was never very good at this game lol. I mean I was always the "serviceable" guy, but never top dps or anything. And I leveled SLOW. The thought and detail that these guys have done is mind-boggling. I'm glad videos like this exist this time around. Really excited for Classic and to try some of these strategies out.
Will be playing a mage. Tyvm for this guide. Maybe I will for once try AOE leveling. Since I always specced everything in ST damage.
fuck you
EradicationX | Today their is nothing more hilariously pathetic than a basement dwelling internet tough guy like you it must suck having to wake up everyday and knowing that you are pathetic and will always be pathetic
I've been so excited and waiting for this.
Thanks from the RU community!\Спасибо от РУ комьюнити!))
I fall asleep listening to this 3 times now. Its very soothing. You have a peacefull voice. I love playing and AoE mage. I made a new champ on the new nighthaven realm.
I'm very happy to contribute to your guide man! :D
^ this guy is a legend
^ this guy is also a legend
Gnome power ! +5% intellect baby
Been waiting for this FOR AGES YOU SIR ARE A LEGEND!
I just want you to know that I appreciate all your effort for these guides. I can't wait for your rogue guide :)
Eh, I think he can skip that one. ;)
Finally! Be waiting a while for this one, thanks.
First off, I just want to thank you for this guide. It's been a long time since I played on a Vanilla server or played Retail Classic, so a refresher is welcome. But, as for your guide, if I may make one suggestion. At one point (14:05 - 17:25) you had all three trees open, but when you focused on some of the skills the tooltips were cut off and we were unable to read them. Maybe focus on one at a time initially so that the tooltips are not cut off? This would help some people who may not have played classic and never saw these before! Thanks!!
This will be my full time guide in use wen classic comes out. Thank you for sharing!
God, I miss wands. The first time I realized my wand was doing more damage than my arcane missiles at level 12 almost made my head explode
This is exactly what ive been waiting for. Thank you, and great detail.
Same, this is pretty much all the information I was looking for and then some. Super appreciated for all the depth!
Been playing a mage forever and found this review useful
These guides are so professional. Love it. Really can tell you put alot of effort in and it is paying of judging from viewers and subs. Good job my dude keep it up! I have bookmarked all your guides for the upcoming classic server lmao.
Dammit!! I will never be able to decide what class to play if I keep watching these!! :P
Thanks for another great video. :)
Definitely the best guides man. Honestly too in depth for me, but the beauty of being too in depth is that it catches the noobs like me! I learned a lot in general about classic from your guides.
Love these vids, rolling a mage asap when Classic comes
Cool, finally someone providing the beginners detailed info on this. In a way that's easy to comprehend. Me gusta!
As a newbie in WoW (not just classic but WoW itself) i cant appreciate this video enough. I will definitely be back to it numerous times. I guess i will go with the first talent configuration you show, since it seems the easiest and straightforward. Later on i may consider going for the AoE grind configuration. Idk if i will keep playing mage, so i think Im going to watch pretty much all your lvl guides xD (so hard for me to decide what class to play ngl). Anyways thanks, you've a new sub here 👌
You aren’t alone dude, I’m a Oldschool RuneScape player but I’ve watched so much TH-cam recommended WoW content that I finally gave Classic a go. Idk what class to choose but I’ve seen so many videos that said Mage was good but I’m gonna check out other classes too. Good luck out there!
omg.. i dont know there is so much nuances and builds for lvling. Mind blown.
Hi man do you know already what are you gonna play in classic? Will there be a closing video after all the classes, when you reveal your class choice? :D
Oh hell yeah I've been waiting for this video going to watch it later and I'll drop another comment when I do
Q: now after the release, can u tell us wether clearcasting is in a buffed or nerfed state??
I would like to know aswell!
#NOCHANGES
Ward
heard that it is nerfed version, 1 chance per spell. Arcane explosion lures only once per cast.
yea i want to know
The quality of these vids are insane keep it up man! Cant wait til you finish the series!
Great video but there's a couple of corrections I'd like to see on your horde section. I tried the 31-35 Torn Fin murloc spot but I found way too many casters, I don't think it should be a suggested location. Which leads me to my next point; Dabyrie Farmstead is fantastic. You can do like 31-38 here easily. It's also not involved in any quests so you get very little through-traffic. Also, your list says Dabyrie Farmstead is in Hillsbrad but it is in fact in Arathi Highlands.
Hoping for a Shaman guide to come soon.
I get that leveling quickly has some appeal to a lot of people but I can’t help but feel that this conflicts with the essence of what classic wow is supposed to be about. Enjoy the game people! Make some mistakes, spending all this time to min max every little bit of your leveling experience is going to diminish a really big part of the vanilla wow experience which is the leveling! Not hating, this guide is super well thought out and I appreciate the hard work. Just a friendly reminder: You can play however you want!
That feel when no fire build. :( I loved obliterating mobs in Un'Goro before they knew what was happening back in the day.
Great seeing these videos being pumped out! Excellent quality, keep it going man!
birch thank u bro..i appreciate ur kind words of support..if i can ever be of assistance lmk :)
new server hype
Gnomes master caster race , that +5% intellect really comes in handy
Watched and was awesome as I expected it would be and just makes me wish classic servers were coming out sooner than later I just want them to be out!!!!
Not long now buddy 😁
Good job. I’m going to multibox mages because I wanted to when I played vanilla but couldn’t afford it. Your single target build seems pretty great for that.
Best Guide on TH-cam. Thank you and marry Christmas from Germany
On the Northdale server, I figured out that you can drink and start walking at the same time and have the drink buff still going. Trick is to not click the mouse, you can move straight forward while drink (op downtime reduction). I can video it
FYI: For 18:25,
Without Talent Mean Dmg is *84* per wand hit.
With Talent Mean Dmg is *101* per wand hit.
Hey, i was wondering what was wrong with my mage (grinding spec) and with your work i can finally improve my leveling with better spec and spot to grind thank a lot for your massive work !!
I know a lot of people excited for WoW Classic are both current and old/returning players, but I'm actually excited to play WoW Classic because I played other games in the WoW days and always felt like I missed something great. Would you be able to create a "new wow player guide" (such as explaining terms like proc and spec, etc). I still found this mage guide interesting and will hopefully be useful in the future when I play. Cheers!
I learned a lot here. Great guide, as usual, Kargoz
I made a comment on your presentation link to Wand progression pages. Says, "There is the Mage quest (req lvl 30) that gives a great wand: Icefury Wand, Netherforce Wand, Ragefire Wand. "Sheepsalot-Kronos III". Great viedo btw!
great video. started playing on elysium because im shocked at the state of BfA i cant play it for more than 10 minutes. levelling a lil gnome mage :p
Dude gz on the work ethic, you're putting out a lot of good stuff
Wow I remember when this first came out, now its got almost 1.3mil views! Congrats!
I know its an older video but its a damn good one! Maybe 1 thing to add: put some footage of some1 doing a mob grind for visual learning
Thumbs up man. Having a great time watching these.
well done ! You are leagues and miles ahead of every other guide. Going that extra mile really paid off. gj! i Still think you could learn something from your "general leveling guide". That was one epic video
Hey Kargoz! Love your videos, I think videos on pre raid bis would be awesome for your channel, keep up the awesome work. :)
So awesome that you are cranking these out dude! As an experienced mage, there's a lot of good stuff in there as well as new inspiration. Really looking forward to the updated druid video as well x-D
Yes he made the video on the best class in the game you don't need to make any more every one should just play mage
After a lot of thought i decided to go with mage for classic over rogue, priest, and pally. I was pally back in vanilla. So glad you made this video, reinforces my decision and makes me feel good about it. Thank you for the amazing videos brother. Hit me up on release if you wanna group for some stuff.
One of the best video guids,I love you!
Incredibly well crafted guide Kargoz' amazing stuff. I'd hire you for any job in a snap
What a lot of guys forget is that Vanilla WoW was probably most peoples 1st mmorpg and the competitive mindset of min/making, bis items, knowing the meta mindset etc came from private servers/moba games/online competitive scene of gaming.
Having the private server mentality of knowing everything, following a certain pattern will affect the true original vanilla experience. For example now when I play online games be it mmorpgs or mobas I always learn the meta and the competitive side of the game firstly. This mindset didnt exist before because it was all about the unknown, forging your own adventure and learning on the way not knowing everything which created a lot of adventurous memories, the true vanilla experience was before the competitive side of mmorpgs/mobas/online gaming in general came into play or when meta awareness wasn't a thing at all. I'm not saying it is the right way to play because you cant go back in time and reverse and erase memory but the true vanilla experience is not just about "no changes" it is also about the innocence of a child stepping into a world not knowing anything about wow/online gaming/competitive gaming/meta game & stepping into the unknown!
Im so freaking hyped for classic cya there guys we're going home! :'-) !
All information here is gold, thanks very much. I would add a little bit of gameplay as people like my are really beginners.
7:10 I downloaded EnergyWatch Reborn for classic, it shows my mana but not an "Energy bar" yellow bar like in the picture here... can someone elaborate on how to drink while moving?
These guides pack so much information. Nicely done
