2023 is a step up now, but I feel they either need to drop the n get a new engine mid engine or step up the 5.3 in power and efficiency
I just bought the 2021 Ram Big horn with the RMT package. Came off the lot with a 6" lift, 20" wheels, 35" tires and the 5.7 Hemi. I love the interior and exterior look of the truck and its roomy and all around comfortable.

Just bought the 2021 Ram Laramie crew cab nicest truck I have ever owned.
Ive had a 2020 gmc sle 6.2 10 speed and traded for a 2020 Ram Big Horn with the hemi. Im so impressed with the Ram it is twice the truck gm is and the gmc was 14 k more money. Go with glory go with Ram Better all around, quiet, comfy and the Ram is quicker than the 6.2 in my testing and still gets 20 mpg

I love the Ram but there’s no way the Hemi is quicker than the 6.2. All tests have proven the 6.2 is quicker.

I just bought the 2021 Bighorn with the Midnight package, put on Flowmaster Outlaw 10s a month ago, truck has insane power. I've always been a Ford guy, but purchasing this Ram has changed me quick.🤘

@@kyboy5 you do know that the 5.3 has the same tick problem same thing with the 6.2 but there still not enough evidence to prove it but everyone knows that the 6.2 has DFM so it will ticking noise in a few years.

I’m guessing you’re talking about the 5.3 when it didn’t have the updated AFM or DFM because there’s videos showing brand new Silverado with the 5.3 having ticking issues early as 20,000 miles you can even go on forums why you think everyone is doing a DOD delete so they don’t get the tick on the 5.3. And people killed the HEMI tick by using redline oil but many people don’t know that because they don’t know what the fuck is internet. I don’t know what truck u own but I’ve never it was made in mexico I only said that because Andrew m said that ram trucks are fiat.

ive owned both a silverado and a ram over the years and I must say the Ram has won me over. Its a better vehicle overall and has an interior that is way ahead of everone else. my 2016 is basically like a new silverado on the inside. the 2022 ram is a huge leap from 2016.
I agree, as a guy who has never owned anything other than chevy trucks all my life, 55 here, I got my first 2020 hemi ram truck a few months ago and will tell you I really like it alot, Chevy truck quality has been in a slow nose dive for about the last 10 years and I am done with them.

I am a DODGE person, however for this video, the Chevy wins for many factors, but in special the FRONT EXTRA seat capacity in the console.

I love the leg room that my 2021 ram has with the bench seat in front! I can man spread allll day long and really not loose that much storage space. I plan on putting LEDs in mine.

Agreed. That Chevy dash looks like my brothers 1996 Chevy. So outdated.
GM could make a very competitive interior for about $100 per unit cost. But GM stayed with their pennywise ways of using thier surplus parts bin. Which is fine it just cost them a high percentage of market share. I have a 2018 Silverado and if I were to buy new today GM would not even be considered. There is a point where penny pinching turns buyers off and GM is well beyond that point.

I’m a Ford guy also, most recently had a 2018 F150. Went to dodge to check out a Durango for my wife, time to trade in the explorer. Left dodge with a 2021 Ram 1500 and a 2021 Durango. Didn’t know what I was missing.

I was pretty happy with my 2019 Silverado currently with 68,000 mi….. but about a month ago began having the 8 speed transmission shifting issues and today a collapsed lifter. Both problems very well documented mechanical issues that GM does not recognize and will not address….. so looking at the RAM.

In Feb 2021 6 to 10% of the US is unemployed and around 15% have a household income over 100k a year. A lot of 50 to 60k trucks on the road given these statistics . Idk how people do it. I hadn’t gotten over vehicles being 30k yet. Still driving a paid off 07 here.

As a previous generation Silverado owner. With GM deciding to use it's surplus parts bin to make a 2021 model truck the "new" 2020/2021 trucks should sit on lots and rust away. IMO.
Ram actually changed their ENTIRE 1500 lineup. Interior and Exterior is nothing like the 4th generation. The 2021 Chevy interior is exactly the same as the 2011. They quite literally have not changed the interior at all and they are charging it as if they made some huge big deal change. Ram all the way.
For 50k I expect it have come standard with the LED lighting package

Just traded my Junk 2020 Ram for a 2021 Silverado Z71. Yes I was a long time Ram owner... But after 5 visits to the dealer about electrical issues and no help I gave up on RAM and went back to Chevrolet. Will never again buy a RAM.

I do like the RAM better than the Chevy but my hearts go out to Toyota’s they are without a question the most reliable trucks in my opinion
They are all reliable any more. The whole “Toyota is so much more reliable than the other brands” doesn’t really apply anymore.

Used to be the case. The Toyota Tundras reliability has gone down considerably. Ram is ranked higher in reliability now.

I take ram over Chevy due to cloth seats over fake leather (vinyl) even with heated seats. It will crack over time and get hard due to hot and cold temperatures.plus hot black seats not good in 30 degrees Celsius temperatures.LEDs will cost about a thousand dollars to replace the whole unit,halogen bulbs easy to replace and it will cost around $40 and up (depending on bulb type) and you can do it your self.
Not gonna lie I’m a dodge fan but the Chevy does have the outlet in the back next to the trunk door where it be easier to hook construction equipment and use the door has a table to cut wood or have a welding machine, generator, air compressor in the back
I think a better comparison would be the Laramie trim on the ram which has the LED lights and upgraded wheels and interior. The Sport is not a direct competitor for this Chevy ZR1 trim.
You couldn’t get a Big Horn with more of an off-road package for comparison?
Then he would have had to gotten a silverado with a off-road package that was a fair comparison the silverado was not a z71 and was not a trail boss. He was right on with his comparison
The Ram looks like it's the best run for your money. The interior is fresh and up to date, and you get a lot for what you pay for. On the exact opposite end, we have the Chevy. Their interior hasn't been updated since 2010, and you don't get a lot for the money you can use to buy the more up to date Ram. I will never buy a Chevy for as long as I live.
Ram's looks cool, Chevy lasts longer. Most mechanics would agree 🤷♂️

To be fair I think you should have used a Dodge North Edition Big horn because you used a Z71 Chevy
Looks wise the Silverado > Ram. Silverado looks like a “Truck”. Interior wise the Ram > Silverado. Motor/engine really just depends on what you’re looking for. Just my opinion though
I feel like the chevy has a cheap interior. The vinyl will never hold up in the long run. The 1990s gauge cluster kills me. Ram is more capable all around and classier looking. Specially at the 54k price point
If your a contractor you would know chevys the more capable one, ram looks nice and appeals to more ppl because if that but real world it’s less work friendly and more for play
Tbf when working in construction ive seen more ford than chevy more rams then chevys and maybe chevys and gmc equally i wouldnt say any one is more capable

The coil spring ram will not tow as well as the leaf spring silverado I've owne both and tow a 35 ft 4th wheel camper and the ram simply can not hold the weight of the camper the silverado with 5.3 hardly Evan squats. I would post video if I could under comments but I can't lol.

True level, wise. You're not even close to being apples to apples. A custom, without the z seventy one package would have been comparable
12 year Ram owner, every 3 years I leased a new one. Loved them all and never had a problem. I just left both Ram and Chevy and in my opinion the Chevy Silverado rst is more of a truck, bigger tougher looking. The Ram seems to have been lowered a bit and drives smooth. The Silverado dwarfs the Ram to me, tomorrow the RST will be in my driveway.

Good review. I like the Ram, overall. The one thing I like about the Chevy is the instrumentation. The gauges were easier to read and much less confusing. You didn’t mention the mirrors on the Chevy.
Hard selection, I like chevy and ram for different reasons. Ram is the better ride and interior. Chevy is the better looking truck in my opinion. Chevys ride quality is good also but Ram is overall a better riding truck. Both really good trucks can't go wrong with either one. I was born and bread chevy so that's what I stick too.
for $50K...I better not get vinyl seating...cloth is bad enough at that price point...

One can sense your bias with ease, the RAM trucks are far better quality regardless of trim comparison. Chevy trucks are plain fugly and sub-par to even grandpa Tundra.

In terms of these two particular trucks I'd take the Chevy too, the bighorn wasn't optioned out at all other than camera system but apples to apples ram makes a better truck especially the interior

Im not sure why that sport has 18” wheels i have a Ram Sport it must be the package that came with I have 20” wheels bed lights and leather seats. I will say the leather is very uncomfortable. Not a great ride for road trips I’d rather have the cloth seats. I find it really awkward the Chevy has 4x controls by the drivers door they should’ve designed that by the radio somewhere. You didn’t mention also Ram has real coil springs much better ride than a Chevy or a Ford.
The Chevy is UGH-LEE. And I just bought a Bighorn, so I am biased.

How do you know if ram has the same problems as the previous 4th gen ?. It’s like me saying I’m not buying a new Silverado because my previous Silverado with the 8 speed has been unreliable having transmission shutters and because of that reason I won’t buy a new gm truck.that’s called a outdated experience because you had a problem on a previous gen truck doesn’t mean it’s still has the same problem on the new trucks.

Definitely the Chevy LT durability y it's going to hold up much better than the Dodge I like the Dodge styling Y and everything plus you're not looking at the fact that you have the off-road package which gives you a lot more capability
