- They do things bigger and bigger again in America and here’s the proof. The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 and the 2023 RAM 1500 TRX are fire-breathing V8 pick-ups with long-travel suspension designed to race across the Mojave Desert.
Their specs make for stunning reading. The ZR2 pumps out 313kW but the TRX rolls right over the top of that with its 523kW supercharged Hellcat V8.
But with a price starting north of $200,000 and with an ogre’s thirst for premium unleaded, is the TRX just too much of a good thing? Bruce Newton compares the pair to find out.

ram is better in power but zr2 is really beautiful and looks aggressive than the raptor , both gmc and chevrolet beautiful looking front
I just bought the ZR2. 100k less than the TRX, and to be the ZR2 looks better and have a nicer interior. Sounds amazing too

This is a silly comparison, because there is no comparison between these two - the TRX eats anything. No competition.

You people are so wrong. The zr2 has more clearance, looks way better, and has locking front diffs. They will never allow a video on here that shows you how the zr2 will go places the TRX can't.cant. oh, and the zr2 is close to 1000 lbs lighter. You people don't know anything about offroading. If I wanted a sports car I'd buy the new Corvette.

These pick ups are the best . In the usa .. these are standard vehicles. Here people buy baby ute hilux and rangers
They aren't the best in the US unless you are doing desert racing. For pickup truck stuff (towing and hauling) you want a heavy duty truck (over 8,500 lb GVWR).
5:29 - Too bad the volume knob and fan speed buttons didn't get swapped to the driver side. That looks awfully inconvenient. lol
You can not compare these two trucks ..they are in two different categories Lol ! the only TRUCK that you can compare the TRX with is the Raptor or Raptor R .. and the ZR2 with a Tundra TRD PRO etc !
The racing versions of the 1/2 tons give up pickup capabilities for the ability to run across deserts at high speed. If you want towing/hauling capability you want a 3/4 ton or higher.
What is a zid r2 ? Do you mean zr2 ?
RAM wins this with the TRX.
Now if you compare a RAM tradesman to anything else, anything else wins.
They both are not long travel trx is a mid travel and the zr2 just has nice shocks only way to compare a trx is to a aftermarket Silverado jackal stage 3 +
Those two needs 2 doors as coupe-utility trucks; Silverado ZR2 must come with a rare 427 (7.0) V8 or a supercharged 6.2 from Camaro ZL1.

No, what they REALLY need to do is make it not shitty off road. Also, the two door trucks are stupid, they offer way less features and are horrible utility vehicles compared to the crew cab models. There’s a reason brands make very few if any at all, because they can’t sell them

Trx has digital display. This is a 22 or 21 Trx vs 2023 Chevy
Zr2 is $70k Trx is $100k
Now these are proper Utes/pick ups unlike Thai small Utes trying to modify to make them look bigger. No wonder we seeing so many American Utes as they are more useful
@Christopher Holden yes they can be bit big for some suburban areas but seen people parking at shopping centres these days, just gotta reverse back in and pick a better parking area. Australian roads are not small compare to some Asian countries hence we run road trains only in Australia. But yeah you are right, these Utes are not for everybody, specially people living in units

Not really more useful if you don't use the ute part for anything. I have never seen an american pickup with anything in the tray. Small single cab utes have a lot more tray space and are much more practical. People who have dual cab utes may as well have suv's because most just put the groceries in the back seat. Sure these oversized pickups can be useful for some people with towing or big loads but they are stupid cars for anyone living on the east coast. Petrol oversized pickups are really stupid, unless they are performance like these ones.

I am not sure how much we need them here as we have Amarok and Ranger with V6 engine option to cover moat of the tasks we do anyway unless you are a tow operator otherwise these are more like a life style show ponnies like G-Wagon.....
These are daily driver in the u.s and Canada. If people can afford they will buy... Unfortunately many like it but can't afford

Neither are great tow rigs since they are sprung for high speed off road racing. People in the US that tow much skip the 1/2 tons altogether.
Australia has very restrictive towing laws, so you may not need anything with more capability that a 1/2 ton. We have caravans/RV trailers that are 48 feet long with a gross weight of over 10 tons.
