One thing to remember is when these games were released, they came with full manuals and a map with locations and some questions answered. I think it detailed where all the crests were located and some other items. I was only 8 when it came out, and for me its not the best game in the series, but i do remember having all the inserts it came with.
I was listening to this while beating DQ2 for the first time on my phone, that version (for android at least) is pretty good, the graphic is not ugly like the switch version,(is actually pixel art without any ugly filter) and the difficulty while high toward the end isn't as crazy as the original release, it might be because they increased the level cap for all party members to 50 instead each character having their own cap like the original. One thing is sure though, the amoung of grinding you have to do is absurd because equipment is so expensive and the gold is never enough, some endgame items cost a whopping 65k gold at piece and that's insane. My teammates were called Thomas and Ginny and i'm not sure why, maybe the mobile version added those names.
DQ2 is clearly a better experience than DQ1, it's just really difficult once you need to find the crests. It's extremely underrated. I like it better than 3 because you don't have to create your own characters. There's a little more of a story. If you want to feel a great sense of accomplishment, beat the game on NES/FC. It is comically hard at parts, which I actually find funny.
@@mountainmgtow5421 and yet the game is still super playable as long as you anticipate that she's weak. Heal her in advance from time to time and go out of your way to get the water flying cloth as soon as possible.
Good video, but DW2 was close to a masterpiece. Not perfect but an amazing game regardless. Remember, the first Dragon Warrior we got in the West was an upgraded version of the initial Japanese game. This is why the step-up seems minor.

My god wouldnt have that been a helpful thing to have
Oh yay! Your video on DQ1 got me to finally play that game - and I loved it! And I loved playing through DQ2 as well 💖
This..this makes me so happy

Probably a lot better than the names I went with :P

It's glitched. The NA version has the Princess of Moonbrooke level up only once every 2 levels.

I don't think my brain could take it. I am trying to do Phantasy Star now on the master system

I reckon, make the npcs be more direct and lower the level required to do it and I will agree. I just hated the grind soooooooo much
never cared for dq2 that much, tbh. dq3 is when it started to get real good.
DQ3 is 😍😍😍😍😍
Yeah and DQ4 was when we started getting more character driven stories in DQ
