Yes, but question will the CHR come for 2022? I heard it will be discontinued is that true? And if you make another video please make the comparison using the same year and mid models of each I.e. 2022 LE of each plus provide the Car list price in US. Thanks! ;)
Definitely! I am currently on the market for a Toyota SUV and if the smaller, cheaper alternatives to the RAV4 are reliable then I’d go with them to save some money. Your videos are so helpful! Please do the cross vs chr!
We have a 2021 RAV4 XLE and just purchased a 2022 Corolla Cross XLE and I can say that the Cross handles better. The cross feels like a mini Lexus and has less engine noise and excellent visibility at all angles. It looks like a mini Highlander from the back. The cross goes over big potholes and bumps much smoother than the RAV4. The RAV4 is bigger inside for both passengers and cargo and handles better in the snow with the snow mode option. The RAV4 is a great off-roader for a small SUV. I also like the sport mode on the RAV4, but that uses more gas than ECO mode. The RAV4 has more power than the cross and reaches speed faster, but is less smooth at high speeds and actually has a little bit of shaking when reaching 75 miles per hour or more. This shaking is how the RAV4 was from after reaching 500 miles on the ODO when we took it up to greater speeds, and is not due to alignment issues. Our RAV4 has the weather package with the heated seats, window, and steering wheel, and I love that package. The Corolla Cross does not come with a heated steering wheel, which I need. It also does not have lighted door lock/unlock buttons and at night you have to know where they are located by touch. The cross does allow you to remote start the engine and change the analog speedometer to digital because the analog display is default and you can't see how fast you are going. See TH-cam Corolla videos for info. Both vehicles are good for gas mileage, but the cross has a smaller gas tank and you will be filling up often. I like that the Cross XLE has all the new driver features for my son such as blind spot and rear cross traffic, as well as backup camera with parking gridlines. My 20 year old enjoys the RAV4 and would not trade it for a Corolla Cross and it still has all those new driver features. The RAV4 sits higher up from the ground and the RAV4 feels like it would be safer in a crash than the Cross. The RAV4 is more comfortable for 4 passengers and all their stuff, but for around town driving with just 2 people, I would prefer to drive the more luxurious-feeling Corolla Cross. The RAV4 feels more sporty and bumpy and I don't like the engine roar even though it has more power. The RAV4 has decent visibility and the blind spot monitor helps. Thanks for your video!
Thanks for the thorough review. I have the RAV4 XLE and love my car. I also agree with you regarding the engine noise. I'm curious to see how the Corolla Cross drives. I remember test driving the Mazda CX-5 and remember it having a luxurious driving feel. But ultimately I decided on Toyota for its reliability. Sounds like the Corolla Cross is the best of both worlds.
i have the corolla cross with 2.0 engine. i use extreme driving style to get 5.0L/100km, which is 49 MPG. i never go over 100km/h, seldom let the engine go over 2500rpm when accelerating and hyper mill when ever possible. so l smile when i see the gas pump, and its a different kind of fun to squeeze for MPG.
The CH-R shouldn't even be sold, it just makes no sense in the lineup to begin with. It's not much bigger than a Corolla hatchback, but still has the old engine and CVT, has less power, gets worse fuel economy, and I believe they're made in Turkey while the hatchback is from Japan.

LOVE my Corolla Cross LE in red! Almost looks the same as the Rav and the cross is a tad bit smaller. I like compact cars so this is a step up for me. Cross is bit big for me to handle but just need to get used to being in a larger car and higher. The Rav and any other car that size is too big for me and it was an easy no to anything larger. I'm not having issue with road noise like some people said. And for the slow pick, who cares! I want gas savings, not a race car. No regrets at all getting the Cross. My sister is now considering one.
Thanks. Great review. The only knock in other reviews is the Cross engine is slow and the car is noisy on the highway. I think the Cross is going to be a big hit and fills a need..
I looked into Corolla cross because the msrp was very low at 23k, so I thought It was more affordable, but no it sells for 29k (cheapest I was able to find), I can easily find a rav4 for 30k with msrp at 28k. Those cross are marked up way more

just heard about this model; its the rightful successor to the first corolla cross over, the Ontario made Toyota Matrix, discontinued >10 years ago. The other hatchback corollas are too small, and only the Rav4 was similarly sized inside both for people, trunk capacity, and ground clearance. Great utilitarian vehicle that won't break the bank. The matrix has niceties that make it hard for me to give up, like split rear window/hatch, and not having wipers in the base trim as in heavy rain or snow, you can't see out of the rear window without it clearing the view.
When you make the comparison, can you please compare apples to apples, meaning if one is LE than compare it to another LE unless they are equal to the price list of the cars which I believe you don’t mentioned. Which is a good information to have in front as well within the US. Thanks for your videos! ;)
The Cross comes in L , LE, and XLE while the Rav4 comes in LE, XLE, and XLE Premium. So comparing an LE and XLE respectively they are both the mid tier for either vehicle.
Thanx for the side by side. Ur correct, there ISN'T much difference. I'd like comparison of basic/top of the line AWD on both, PRICE-WISE. How much difference. This is what will determine popularity. I'm tryn to convince friend when she's ready.
Exactly. The review is for beginners unless you mentioned types of engines and transmissions. CVT is known for its troubles and that is why toyota switched to durable transmissions on Rav4.
When you showed the front view only I tried to choose which was which I got them correct, I liked the cross when I first saw them advertised but to be honest I’d go for the RAV4 to own

Sadly this is the case. Every dealer in southern wv, is pricing the cross at rav4 territory. 5 inches longer, 1 inch wider, 3inches taller, that is 15 cubic inches bigger and that most important part is the rear seat comfort for 5 inches longer. Oh man, plus the engine has 34 more horsepower and 30 more torque and is is also significant difference. Fuel economy is the same. Pricewise is about $3700 Canadian dollar difference for Le vs L, similar features. I think Rav4 is a better deal.
@@user-tb7rn1il3q It's possible that since Cross is released this year, they will make next year's Rav4 more expensive to make people have to spend more to get it. or they might make all Rav4's hybrid (price increase). Gen 2013 - 2018 of the Rav4 is the winner in term of cargo capacities seat fold-down with 73.4 ft³ . Gen 2019-now lost some cubic feet at 69.8 ft³ & the rear opening is now narrower . No official number from Toyota for the Cross cargo , some source said 66 ft³ but I have big doubts about it .
honestly, i don't get why Toyota even bothered. i know the CC starts at a lower msrp, but as a whole it just doesn't make sense to me at least. i can see maybe in different markets around the world where a Rav4 might not be available... just is confusing really to be in the same market. at least with the ford escape & bronco sport, there's a huge difference in aesthetics 🤷🏼♂️ maybe i'm just getting too old lol

Probably because Crosses are still very scarce now in June 2023 and were even moreso a year ago. The Huntsville plant has had big problems staffing up (NASA and its contractors have surged in their hiring there to build hardware for the Artemis moon missions) and has been producing very low numbers of Crosses.
THe headlights are sleeker in front of the Cross and the rear light are bulkier in back of the Rav4s. The fog lights on the Cross are at the bottom very bottom, while they are on the side like of the headlights on the Rav4s.
Yes. The transmission alone would be enough to move me to RAV4. The 1st gear + CVT is more or less a hack Toyota came up with to improve the rubberband effect CVTs have.
Everyone should be listening to music when driving so you don't notice the noise of the CVT or wind noise. I can't stand to drive without the radio on.

I have the FWD. It has a lower floor in the rear than the AWD does.
Very good comparison
Thank you
Need to wait for cross hybrid.
honestly, i don't get why Toyota even bothered. i know the CC starts at a lower msrp, but as a whole it just doesn't make sense to me at least. i can see maybe in different markets around the world where a Rav4 might not be available... just is confusing really to be in the same market. at least with the ford escape & bronco sport, there's a huge difference in aesthetics 🤷🏼♂️ maybe i'm just getting too old lol
Thank you for this
Very nice and useful review 👍😊
Most helpful video thanks!
Thank you for making this comparison, it was very helpful!
Np pat
Excellent review 👍
Buying one today ♥️
Awesome review , tremendous , thank you sir.
I have a 22 rav4 limited hybrid and I think it's pretty quiet... maybe the limited has better insulation?
How does it feel to drive? I'm waiting to test drive but some people are saying it drives like a truck? Lol aorry random, just am curios
@@kayleykat5183 I got rid of it... took it on the interstate and I immediately noticed what people were talking about when you get over 70 mph it sounds like your window is cracked open the entire time. Took it to the dealership and they said that was normal ended up trading it for Mazda CX-5.
Thanks for the detailed video!
Does the Corolla cross have more cargo space than a Kia Soul?
Could you compare the Toyota Cross hybrid and the Toyota Venza. Thank you
What you have done is great. I which if you add urban cross next to them 🤯. I feel all are the same
Good video thank you bro.
Good comparison, thank you!
Np
Thank you.👌 Nice video.
Very good video
Thank you
@@ToyotaWorld which do you think it is safer? Theorically the RAV 4 has a bigger platform so for that it may be safer
Which do you think is safer? Theoretically the RAV4 has a bigger platform so this should be more safe maybe.

Great review, was waiting for this one. Thanks.
Mee too :)
Toyota Make good car,#1 world wide!!!!!!!!
I do wish Toyota would allow the sale of the Raize AWD in the US. as a smaller and cheaper option for whose whom don't want to pay the cost of the Corolla Cross or RAV4 and would not mind the drop in engine output.
I like your comparison in your commentary. I hate your choice of music. I have to fast forward and mute in order to endure it.
Thanks for this!!!! So excited for my cross to come. I was a bit nervous it was significantly smaller than the rav
Np
Did u got yours, i just ordered, so i am so curious a waiting time
@@keto327 I did get mine already it’s pretty similar if not the same size the leg room SUCKS so I hope you’re not super tall my 6’6 boyfriend does y really fit even with the seat all the way back
Does certain colors cost more than others? If so, which colors cost more?
How about same color, park back to back or facing each others 😁
I like the CC’s front styling and Rav4’s rears
Probably because Crosses are still very scarce now in June 2023 and were even moreso a year ago. The Huntsville plant has had big problems staffing up (NASA and its contractors have surged in their hiring there to build hardware for the Artemis moon missions) and has been producing very low numbers of Crosses.
THe headlights are sleeker in front of the Cross and the rear light are bulkier in back of the Rav4s. The fog lights on the Cross are at the bottom very bottom, while they are on the side like of the headlights on the Rav4s.
Corolla cross looks bigger. Rav4,Avenza and Corolla cross almost the same size.
I only seen couple of the Corolla cross n I see more of the RAV4 since I got my RAV4
Not gonna lie, I just love watching your videos not so much for the cars, but because you're hella attractive :)
Lol. Ok. I’ll take the compliment and keep making videos.
No driving comparison....arguably the most important part of the review.
You missed one HUGE difference RAV4 8 speed automatic/ Corolla Cross CVT with 1st gear.
@@TactileCoder in Asia they do the reverse by cvt+final gear.
Thank you for comparison.
Corolla 4 wheel drive Rav4 4 x 4 . The comparison done was just the insides. Do you need 4 x 4?
Offer the iMT manual from the Corolla SE!
Great job
I see where there 22k bran new! Do we need to order. I have my little carolla it's a great car but it's time for a new one of these ! I'm deciding between this or the 22 civic LE same price 22+ I'd rather this I think
❤️it Toyota Are the best
merci pour ce vidéo très bien, je prévois faire achat de la corolla cross
Cross Is my pick..I felt like the back seat of the cross was bigger.. while sitting at the back of the rav.. I felt like it was smaller even though it was not..I dunno.. cross felt more comfy to drive also
Thank You! I have been thinking about which of these two vehicles I should upgrade to from my current vehicle that’s on its way to 200K miles
Np!!!!
Do you know the price difference for XLE vs XLE awd?
hi how are you? can you make video about safety connect/remote connect/ key fob connect in toyota canada cars just like what toyotajeff did. when are they going to expire?
thanks in advance
Sure I’ll work on that for you
@@ToyotaWorld thank you. looking forward to that 🍻
