- Was able to fly between rain showers but still a lot of mist getting my drone wet. So this video is shorter than normal. Shot the areas that are the most interesting.

Merci👍👍👍
Maybe proofrock could hire a couple of ikea assemblers? 😂
Thanks you Brad, video fantastic, from Spain
Thanks Brad
0:12. Southend, east diagonal. Glazing installation hasn’t progress for a couple of days.
Top of retaining wall where the 3 glazed units were removed has been modified. Wall between the embedded plates has been cut out giving a castellated effect to the wall. Was visible in Jeff’s video yesterday. Intact in Brad’s video the day before.
0:17. Southend. Level 2. Guardrail visible behind all installed glass.
2:15. Southend. Stormwater drain. Presumably will dogleg across the tunnel/tunnel ramp alignment.
2:45. Southend. Tank farm. Contract near complete. Site cleaned up.
2:49. River Road. Eastward extension. Preliminary works. Tree clearing, and quarry overburden removal. Ground under might be mush to the bottom of the quarry.
3:41. Parking Garage site. Crane being dismantled for removal.
5:04. Westside. Tunnel Project. Bottom left. Tunnel lining segments.
5:04. Westside. Tunnel Project. A length of conveyor belt suspended under the bridge beam. Day 60?
6:58. New EOL, west. Left. Test track. Rumble strips etc being installed.
2:45 No paint or different crew?
@@sammyk874 2:45. I think the tanks are stainless steel, might not get paint.
Next contractor that shows up should give some clues as to the purpose of the tanks.
@@DessieDoolan Ah right...well, they should polish them up then!
@@sammyk874 The best polish is no polish!
Airwave Dynamics video today. I haven't watched in fully, just sped through it to check for any TBM action........none.
American Tank and Vessel trailer is still at the Tank Farm.
👋👍
Thanks Brad
Thanks for the great video. Looks like more tunnel segments arrived on-site. 212 stacks = 106 segments = 159m. it's ~200m to make it across the road, plus any additional distance to the actual surfacing location.
Did you count those bottom left at 5:04?
@@DessieDoolan Yes, I also noticed there's 16 stacks there, and it looks like they left space for a lot more (better view at 5:50), There's the original 6 "red" ones near the superchargers, 108 along the highway, and 82 more facing them (easier to count in Thursday's video). So the rest must still be in Bastrop.
@@satoshimanabe2493 5:29 I have an idea these were shifted from the EOL site to (top) to the TBM site (left).
My speculation is that the tunnel entrance is within the extension. Distance from the silt fence in front of the cutterhead to the perimeter grade beam of the extension measured on google earth is 296m. 15m to the cutterhead.
@@DessieDoolan You may be right, there was a bunch near the red pieces that disappeared, so those may be the same pieces. And sounds like consensus on the exit location agrees with you. My only question is how they would get the TBM out. When setting it up, they had to pour concrete so the crane could lift that weight, there doesn't seem to be that much prepwork done on the other side. I imagine they can't just back it up, since the tunnel is smaller than the TBM?
@@satoshimanabe2493 Interesting point. I was also assuming the exit would be in the first extension of the building that was previously completed. They could probably remove a wall panel at the end (where the Cybertrucks exit now) and pull it out on rollers until they get to where a crane can lift it onto a truck. Or maybe they can load it on a truck inside the building? Or we could be wrong, and the tunnel comes out outside the building, but that wouldn't be nearly as cool.

Could you do _Time Glitches?_ Were a couple of frames glitch back say a month, 6 months a year with a old-style onscreen date. Just need a few fames from the same perspective. Would be a cool way to show the progression. A signature sound would help identify something diffrent.
Thanks Brad for the effort in flying in weather that wasn't all that great!
EOL Superchargers:
@ 6:03 So far... They seem to be only charging a few Cybertrucks at a time (No Model Y's), and ONLY in the north stalls. East parking lot Superchargers remain in use.
In JeffR's Mar13th video it looked like there was one Cybertruck plugged in on the south-west stall, but yeah not in general use yet.
@@Gig0Surf Thanks. I missed that on Jeff's 3/13 video.
I'm guessing they're moving Cybertrucks to the new EOL facility first, and then Ys once it has the capacity. Cybertrucks seem to have one section of the east EOL lot, and production has exceeded that capacity. I'm guessing the next step will be to stop having Cybertrucks on the east side, but they seem to still be using the rain room (or whatever they call the water test), so that may wait until they have that on the west.

P garage. I thought that they would take the western crane apart on Wednesday. But, I am not the project manager. Was the disassembled cranes lease up today?
Is the large construction opening in-between the construction expansion project at the west end of the building and the existing factory for the tunneling project to end in that area? Would make sense to wait until that happens before erecting any steel.
The gap in the retaining wall, centre screen at 1:11 is the tunnel alignment. Deeper inside the steel erection has stopped. That suggests for access to remove the TBM.
No official details, speculation.
LOOK @ the cybertruck end of line exit door. Notice how the new building expansion
makes a perfect rectangle around the exit door area. This would be a PERFECT place
for the tunnel to surface. Cybertrucks shoot out the end of line door & into the tunnel
and surface across the freeway @ the westside charging station in preparation to
being loaded & delivered. From behind the boring machine it is pointing DEAD ON
towards that rectangle. ALSO, it would make PERFECT sense for a tunnel to be
drilled from the northside of the building on the westside TO the model Y end of line
exit door just north of the factory main entrance.
Just a Thought...
!
You thought correctly. Route known since early January.
@@electropetrolhead And the potential Model Y 2nd tunnel?
@@jeffcarlton3590 Do they need a tunnel for Model Y? Should be possible to keep a path clear through the factory to the same tunnel entrance.
My guess is that the Tesla side are getting a bit frustrated with the Boring Company. If they are waiting for the tunnel to surface in the as yet unbuilt area.
I would have thought they would have expected the tunnel to be complete weeks ago according to the TBC website.
Very slow putting other conveyor together.
Day 61 (18 March).
There's not much steel on site right now. Looks to be only enough to finish the west side of the extension, and perhaps a similar amount of structure around the tank farm area on the east side.
I'm looking at the steel stacked around the building, and what is stacked in the 'old contractors parking lot' to the west of the tunnel project. Haven't seen that stack for 2 or 3 days, so might have changed.
There's large amounts of steel west of the highway up towards Tesla Road. That stockpile for over 2 years has been reported as being for the extension, but is in fact being used to build out additional floors within the main building. Distinct lack of columns amongst the components.
Might see some changes to the stockpiles in the next videos.
Should get a video from Jeff (standing in for Joe) tomorrow (Monday Austin, Tuesday where it counts).
Hey Brad, if you can angle the drone like you have in 2:01 and use the beams like a gun sight you can probably tell where the tunnel will go
Getting bigger by the. Day
Microsoft copilot - just what I need to make my iPhone even more work than it is. Unfortunately, the ad shows up throughout the video as a large panel that I can’t get rid of.
Much better to watch these videos on a computer monitor or large screen tv. 😊
But construction began at the same time as Giga - Berlin and Giga - Texas. On the outskirts of Berlin, construction is completed, but here... it is in full swing.
Very different factories. They're making two different vehicles in Texas, with the south expansion for a third. They're making 4680 cells in Texas and expanding the lines; Berlin has plans to do that eventually. And those are just the most obvious differences.
someone needs to get up on the roof of the main building with a Swifter and clean up all that dust and dirt. I'm surprised no one has dragged them into sponsoring one of these videos for it actually. ;)
Wouldn't help,All the rain in Texas,is unfortunately made up of granules of that red clay.Science!
Maybe it's just me, but why?
Probably waiting until all that dirt is covered. Will come back until they stop digging in the dirt.
@@rb8049 That may be true. I think it should be cleaned at some point, but not right now since I think ramp up of production is more important at this point..
The roof is only dirty because we get to see it. A take on 'if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound?'
Will the parking structure get the white stain/paint like the main factory did?
I hope it doesn’t as it might decrease the prominence of building one
Does anyone know if all the construction projects are on time and under budget?
How would anyone here know that? Even if they did, unlikely they would share that publicly.
Yo Boring Co. What’s the holdup?
It's probably not meant to be fast. Do you think Tesla is paying boring??? It's definitely a free tunnel for Tesla
Elon can't be paying them when he's the owner. I suggest they are waiting for the building to be more finished because of groundworks before tunneling under into the new building where the cybertruck comes out
They are using this as a test for employees for other tunnels like las Vegas. This is definitely not meant to be rushed because there's no risk or reason to be fast
@@TheMagicJIZZI disagree. TBC need to get it completed and get out of the way for Tesla to complete the structural work.
What's up with the tunnel? When you go to their website, they emphasize how QUICK the setup and 'getting-to-work' is, yet, this is the opposite of that. I've seen the statement that 'this is a new model', but, that makes it worse because you expect newer models to be better, not worse. This is definitely worse....but with a friendly customer who is 'understanding'. This smells like a big piece of support equipment wasn't planned-for or built properly and so has to be redesigned and constructed. I see they brought in lighting, usually a sign of impending action, but, that may just be a ruse to keep criticism down. I recommend they move a lot of the 'WOW' trailers away to the South though. They need more room. I have zero confidence that ridiculous little 'box' container they built next to the conveyor can hold very much quantity of spoil at all for a 'never-stop, continuous digging' operation. This seems to be an 'OJT' project.
We have no idea what Tesla was expecting from TBC's schedule. TBC may be working out bugs in their system with this project, and may have factored that into their schedule from the start. Or maybe not. We have no data.
TBC is probably taking time as this is a free tunnel. Elon's probably not paying the boring company... think about it
It's a research tunnel to show off tools and help train employees for other tunnels. Tesla surely can't pay the boring company for this because of Elon's ownership
