I have a Victory Vision and I just bought a 24 Triumph Tiger GT PRO. It’s truly like riding a small dirt bike with a big engine and lots of technical stuff. The engine has a great sound and runs so effortlessly. It’s very quick and shifts so smoothly. Phone connectivity is awesome to. Speaking of quick shifter, I don’t use it much either although it works very well. Especially if you want to get up to speed in a hurry. I had a 2014 Suzuki 650 Vstrom and I found it really bothered my neck and shoulders, but not an issue with the Tiger. I’m 66 and love cruisers for there laid back relaxed riding position. I will never give up my Vision. But this Tiger is a keeper and it’s so light and nimble…
Congratulations on the new Tiger. I don't use half of the tech stuff on mine. I've ridden cruisers most of my life, so a lot of this stuff I've had to learn about. I am using the quick shifter more than I thought I would, but there are times I just change gears the old fashioned way. I really like the triple cylinder engine, and the Tiger handles extremely well. I don't think I'll ever part with my Sporster, but the Tiger sure is a lot of fun. I appreciate the comments. Thanks for watching, and ride safe!
I'm in Greensboro, ride Harleys but really like the folks at Select Triumph. They'll let you demo for an hour if you want. I was very impressed with the Tiger1200 when I rode it last year. So it's good to see you ride the 900, which until now, had never even considered. But why not? I love riding the twisties in lower VA and this looks like a perfect little ride. I am 68 and looking for something a bit more sporty than the Harley RGS, and these little Triumphs are so much fun. The quick shifters are better than BMWs. Awesome. Ride safely.
I rode the 1200 but preferred the 900. I was coming off a HD Heritage and wanted a lighter bike, but something that had some power and was also comfortable. The 900 checked all the boxes. I couldn't see the value in the price difference between the 900 and 1200--and the 1200 seemed a lot heavier to me. Unless you ride with a passenger, the 900 is plenty of motorcycle. I'm very happy with my decision so far. By the way, I live in Trinity. I appreciate the comments. Take care, and ride safe.
Never knew about quick shifters till this video! Been riding Harleys too long 😂. But there have been times in the past I’ve shifted up on my bikes in the past when I knew I was in that sweet zone. These days I wouldn’t even attempt it! But that Triumph does sound good when you did those quick shifts!
@@andyfoley6906 it will go when you twist the throttle, that’s for sure. Once I figured out the quick shifter, it made riding a little more exciting. I appreciate the comment. Take care!
Great video Stoney. My BMW 1200 GS that I sold in 2019 had a quick shifter that I really liked. Going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd was not very smooth though. Moving on up in the gears and going down was smoother. It had a light clutch too that I also loved, having arthritis in my left hand also. But, I can tell your bike really shifts smooth with the quick shifter all the way up and down through the gears. I think they have really improved the quick shifters on bikes in the last few years. Ride safe my friend.
I’ve ridden motorcycles most of my adult life. I’m not kidding when I say I had never heard of a quick shifter. If it hadn’t come installed on my Tiger, I still wouldn’t know🤣🤣. I really like it! Thanks for watching and commenting, Bill. I appreciate it.
As many times as I’ve been thru Harmony, I’ve never been headed east. Also never seen you go 80 mph…😳. You’ve ridden a bunch more than I have recently. Hoping to get out this Saturday. Ride safe.
I think you and I came back from Wilkesboro that way one time, didn't we? I know we've ridden it a few times from Mocksville. After not riding much this summer, I've been trying to catch up. I get pretty busy at work in September and October, so I know I don't have many more chances to ride. By the way, I was going 80 kph😉. I appreciate the comments, buddy. Ride safe.
I’ve never had a bike with a quickshifter either until I got my BMW and I didn’t really use it much at first but now I do all the time. That along with the cruise control definitely gives my old man hands a break. I guess in a few years I’ll try out a DCT bike but not quite ready for that yet. Great views of your Tiger! Ride safe Speedy Gonzalez.
The more I ride this bike, the more I'm finding out about it. I've been playing with the ride modes and the suspension settings and it does make a difference in comfort and how the bike handles. My left hand has been giving me fits lately, so I admit I've been eyeballing the Hondas with the DCT. I'm not there yet, either, I don't think, but some days I'm ready to ditch the clutch. Thanks for watching and commenting, buddy. The weather is getting a tad cooler, so I hope you are getting to ride. Take care.
At 68, I want a bit more fun ( and ease ) than my Harley RGS and thinking hard about the Honda Wing DCT, which would be more like a sport bike compared to the Harley.
@@eugeniustheodidactus8890 I haven't ridden a DCT, but I want to ride the Africa Twin, which has the DCT available. To be honest, I don't want to ride one because I'm afraid I'll like it, lol.
Another good vlog! When I went from a 2007 Yamaha Roadstar to my 2019 Springfield what a difference in technology. That Yamaha was a good bike and I put alot of miles on it but the move to 2019 technology was amazing. I think cruise control is my favorite feature, makes a big difference instead of the mechanical throttle set. The Springfield has an easy clutch pull but age is causing me some grief when I ride in town. Might have to look at something lighter to ride, maybe do some test rides. Keep the shiny side up!
Technology is good! Those Springfields are gorgeous bikes. I looked really hard at them before I bought my 2018 Heritage. I may have bought one if I could have found a red one. I have some arthritis and tendon problems in my left hand. The clutch on my Tiger is light, and the quick shifter is awesome. Thanks, buddy, for the comments. I really appreciate it. Ride safe!
On the Spyder, it has a thumb shifter. You must keep power on the throttle to shift as well. When you downshift, the bike does it automatically, but you can down shift it manually if you want. Technology is something, ain't it?
