    I bought a rally pro 1200, 6,4” and the bike fits great, heated seat wasa nice upgrade, engine sound above 5k rpm is pretty cool. Enjoy.

    Good review and brilliant choice of roads to get the best out of the bike.

    Bought a white one of these in July and I love it. I agree, the weight is manageable (less so for the GT Explorer due to an additional 12+kg in the tank). The TFT is a bit glacial on start, and takes a bit of getting used to. Very annoying that total mileage is nigh on impossible to find. Contrary to an earlier comment, iPhone synchronisation was easy, and the turn by turn navigation has so far been useful and accurate. I also disagree that the downshifter is iffy. I came from a Tiger 850 Sport where the downshifter was pretty clunky. If you use this one with a bit of finesse it works really well. Just don‘t think you can slam it down in the hope of getting massive engine braking. Saddle is all-day comfortable, having already done two 8 hour days on this. All in all, a terrific bike.

      @@woodywood3388 I definitely think white is the best colour to go with, and that bike just opens the door to travel possibilities. Didn’t get chance to play with the navigation on the test ride but seems like a great idea and would be interested in learning about it more so will keep my eye out for review videos. I also had no issues with the quick shifter and thought it worked well. In all a fantastic bike and I’m looking forward to getting one at some point. Enjoy your purchase buddy 😃

    I am a 5'6 shorty and also have a white one. Holding the home button lowers the bike by 20mm under 51mph and automatically raises, an absolute game changer. It's a big bike but not when you get it rolling. I had an 800 xrt and the tech spec on the Gt Pro is just superb and the joys of being a shorty means no wind buffering. Put your house up for sale lol

      @@brianlittle1132 ahh that’s a fantastic idea! I didn’t realise it did that. I’m the sort of person who likes to spend an evening or two reading the owners manual, so there are probably a number of tricks the bike has that I’m not aware of yet. But I had a great ride on her and she’s definitely in the plan. Haha yeah that’s one way to fix the problem eh 😊. Thanks for the comment, and ride safe 👍🏼

    I’ve got a 22 GT Pro it’s been a great bike it really has, this year I took it down to the South of France in 40c heat and it handled it all with ease.
    You do know you can drop the arse end if you hold in the home button by 20mm, I’m over 6’ but it’s still welcome, the auto indicators shut off too early for my liking (personal choice) so I keep it manual.
    The stock screen isn’t so good, swapped out for a WRS unit some improvements but still not what I’d call good
    Upper and lower crash bars fitted (lower ones good for fitting highway pegs on those long motorway drags)
    Triumph make you close the throttle for 5 seconds when you change riding modes, so just put cruise control on (throttle is effectively closed) and you can change modes without losing drive - worth knowing if you’re buying one
    The 22 model rolls you into the tank (seat design), the 24 is supposed to cure this
    The auto rev feature is supposed to be there
    I’ll be changing mine in 25, haven’t decided yet (it was an ex demo) it’s reliability has been superb unlike the new GS1300
    Good review 👍

      Thanks for the comment 😊. I didn’t realise you could lower the bike until after riding it, but that would have been nice to try. Quite a good idea really! Yes the screen was a disappointment. I couldn’t believe how noisy it was, although I’ve never really been a fan of standard exhausts, so maybe it would be less noticeable with an aftermarket slip on. Did the WRS screen reduce the noise at all, or did you just find it better for wind protection?
      As for the riding modes, I wasn’t aware of that either, but I’m one of those guys that would find enjoyment in reading the manual in the evening, so looking forward to learning more about it. Planning on getting one the year after next and have some long distance trips lined up which will be great. And it was so enjoyable that I don’t have any plans to try anything else as a comparison.
      Thanks again for the useful info and good look with the next purchase 👍

    • @andrewshore262
      @andrewshore262 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ WRS unit is slightly longer and wider but it still retains a good look and avoids looking like some mahoosive sail attached to the bike, I also added bigger winglets from Puig (daft money) they also help…..
      The problem as you’re probably aware is the aero on an ADV, you get the all day comfort but if you really start pushing it you’ll know all about it - these bikes are also electronically pinned to an absolute maximum of 127mph, that’s down a fair way on other ADV’s but if you’re riding these bikes at those speeds you need a rethink. If you’ve only known faired sports bikes that slip through the air you’ll never achieve that on one of these, the other thing I would suggest is keeping the screen in the low position at higher speeds (notice you hadn’t done that).
      They’ll probably a new Tiger out by your planned purchased date, but whatever you do good luck - ride safe 👍

      @@andrewshore262 Ha I know what you mean about some of the screens out there. Will definitely look into the WRS one, thanks for the suggestion. And yeah you’re right about the speed; can’t imagine it being fun up at nearly 130 on a Triumph Tiger!
      Thanks for the comment and the advice

    Haha :D I just bought (Got it 09.09.24) the same bike (same colour). Funny that before that I could not find any nice review videos of 2024 model Tiger 1200 GT PRO. Nice review btw :P Got it brand new and now I have 400km on it. So far noticed that there is some strange "ticking" noise coming from engine but I guess that is expected? Considering I came from Ducati Streetfighter V4S: Quite.a switch from my side LOL. Anyways I have enjoyed the Triumph so far. It is amazingly comfortable. Obviously haven't used much throttle since it is brand new and I am following the Triumph recommendation of not exceeding 3500 before 160KM etc.
    Faults? Wind noise is quite surprising. Thought it would be much less
    quick shift up is awesome, Down is "if"i
    Screen could be a bit faster. The connectivity with Iphone is nightmare. Using default navigation seems to be impossible.
    Other than than It is awesome bike. I finally can ride long hours because it is comfortable. Looks great with this colour as well.

      @@toomass2668 Ahh very nice!
      Well I only had her for the day and she was very different to what I’m used to riding, but had such a good ride out.
      Plenty of power, fairly agile for a big bike, and could definitely see me doing some long distance touring with ease!
      Didn’t notice the ticking noise, but that may have been masked by the gale force winds I was experiencing 😂.
      Must be quite a transition from a Streetfighter too! Didn’t manage to try out the Bluetooth but from what I read the Triumph app is a really good idea. I would probably resort to a Quadlock in any case to be fair.
      Overall I was really impressed. Just have to work on a storage solution now haha

      @@CharltonsClassics Ye. my first bike was Yamaha R1. I thought I wanted something fast and then after 1 season I realized I want something comfi. Then 4 years passed and I wanted new bike... of course I bought fastest bike out there cause thats who I am. And then after riding SF V4S (22 model) for 1 season I started thinking that I don't enjoy the insane acceleration as much as riding comfortable into sunset. LOL
      Anyways yea. Initially thought about Kawa Versys 1000 but I couldnt get any test riding with it. They had Triumph for testride that day so .. the rest is history :D

    Everyone is on the adventure bike wagon since Ewan went on a ride 🤷🏻‍♂️ yet I see very few adventure bikes under trees when out walking the dog but lots out n about on a Sunday visiting the local cafe …
    Triumph have made the latest 800 tiger sport at a realistic price , clip on luggage without the need for rails but most of all it’s a comfortable ‘road bike’ with a nod to being sporty and no pretensions of ever going off road .
    I wonder if triumph will follow this and turn the 1200 into a similar kind of thing … would take the sales away from BMW S1000XR range with luggage , shaft drive … food for thought as not everyone wants an adventure bike , we aren’t all ‘Charlie’s’ going the long way round to Sainsbury’s

    • @CharltonsClassics
      @CharltonsClassics  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Cheers mate. Ahh I said 'buffeting'. Coming from sportsbikes I expected that the screen would remove the wind blast and it does a reasonable job, but it does sound a bit blustery. Others have agreed and I imagine that a larger more shapely screen might help with that.
      As for the Africa Twin; it looks like a serious bit of kit, and probably well suited to extreme off road. For me I would still choose the Triumph (GT Pro version). Great power, handles surprisingly well and think it would be a better mile-muncher for long distance trips.
      Looks like two test rides are in order

    The bike is heavy and you can feel that when riding it. It does not significantly impact handling tho. The engine sound is like marmite. Love it or hate it. The bike has stacks of power. For me it's too heavy to enjoy it. The 900 is a different story.

    • @CharltonsClassics
      @CharltonsClassics  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know it isn’t a lightweight bike but it did surprise me how manageable it was. Didn’t have any issues, although I’m sure fully loaded with a pillion it would be a different story. Definitely more than enough power like you say, and just so capable. Haven’t ridden 900 but I can imagine that’s also a great bike!
