Manny P Just got my first car yesterday from a dealer. A 2009 ford taurus. Drove off the lot around 10 and I went on to get my mother some food. Im on the way to the intersection and notice the car running hot and a bit of a rumble. I planned on pulling over to a gas station right across the intersection and the car died at the stop light. You're right, but the detailing shop was in on the scam. It's an insurance scam. He is friends with the detailing shop and arranged to "steal" his own car, then drive it into the woods himself to claim on the insurance. This guy is just a petty criminal with a TH-cam channel trying to make himself look legit.
"Really Stupid Criminals" ... They stole his car, got away from the police and got rid of the vehicle without getting caught. I was expecting them to find the thief's DL or something left in the glovebox. They got away with it all.
I giggled when he said that too, when they said they crashed his baby into a hedge row i was a bit freaked out until i saw it then i felt reliefe then freaked out at the scratches and dings!!
That's why you should put a GPS tracker under the flooring of the car, wired into the electrical systems, in case of an event like this. It might seem a bit overkill, but it will pay off when things like this happen.
Bmw’s in general are garbage. Just says bmw means its special? Yeah they’re overrated cars. Idk why people like them. They’re slow.. they’re asking wayyy to much for a even a performance model. I can buy a 2018 mustang gt and it will beat any bmw makes in that price range of a mustang gt.. and the new mustangs i think look better than the bmw’s..
Oh yeah, that bit. D'oh! It's probably safest to cover himself to not expose a criminal without 100% proof. He could find himself getting sued for defamation or something.
I mean legally he has to censor that dudes face. This is America. Innocent until proven guilty. If it turns out it wasn't him then he could sue Hoovie for defamation. You think Hoovie would want to deal with that? No.
She's at risk of being jumped or ran up on by the thief's goons. That's the main concern. I doubt they'll put her in witness protection program over a stolen car worth less than $5,000.
because THEY didn't steal it. You can only hold someone responsible if THEY are at fault. That would be like suing your local mall if you parked in their garage and your car was stolen. Following your logic, technically it was on their property so they're responsible for your car? Not a chance.
No name You are too confident of your logical skills despite having no knowledge of the law. Of course the garage is liable in bailment, or in tort. The point is whether you could be bothered to sue.
No name that’s a terrible comparison. If you have a valet park your car, and they give it to someone else. Who’s responsible? Obviously the valet service. You’re a moron.
TellYouWhat 95 because that wouldn’t be solid proof, all they have to say is “I bought it off someone” they have to be caught. There’s no proof that they stole it, but it would make sense. But not enough to make an arrest
@@Kokobonkers wait but there is like something that stands out like say an accessories or something on the car to indicate that it's not his AND can you just check like the transaction or any close dealership to confirm if that man actually bought it if say he actually bought it well if cash it can be seen if any cctv on the dealership saw that man if he actually bought the car IF credit card of course it can be traced BUT if they didn't find any evidence that he actually bought it it can go on trial/court right????
hey guys chris fix here today im going to show how to get a stolen car out of trees with basic tools.you will need a chainsaw, rope, tractor and a gun to kill the basterd that put it there
Hey guys Chrisfix here and I'm gonna show you how to remove your stolen car from a tree just using some soapy wooder, a breaker bar, and a torque wrench.
It's hard not to feel victimized and PISSED, wanting revenge but stuck and powerless because it's not worth the jail time to serve the dirtbag criminals the justice they deserve. Especially when you know their identities.
Nah. Just good insurance. GPS and Lo-Jack might recover a car, but without good insurance you could be screwed anyways. If they wreck it, you're out of luck. If they strip it, you're out of luck. If they cut the tracking, you're out of luck. With good insurance, you're in good shape no matter what.
A better lo-jack put a snake in the driver seat and don’t tell anyone it’s sitting there and let them get bite or put a dog in the car cause they would not stop barking
Wait let me get this straight The guy on Facebook showed his face and the other guy spotted driving it the other day was closely related to that guy and it was all over Facebook and Police still could only find the car after it was crashed and abandoned in the woods??? WTF??
Sad state of affairs when they have the thief's picture standing next to the stolen car after the theft, and know his identity, and the prosecutor doesn't prosecute.
Wrong. We're a nation of laws. It's what makes us civilized. Street justice just doubles down on the original problem. Get involved. Make a difference. Vote.
He probably did it when he was fleeing from the cops. Was too afraid to drive it (with cops chasing) so he just drove it into the jungle so he would not be seen and took off running from there. Not making excuses for the fucker obviously, should have his right leg cut off for stealing.
Thieft destroyed the ignition on our brand 2005 Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed back in 2005, they broke the dashboard for taking off the GPS so the cops don’t find the car and we never seen the car again.
I like this guy, I remember when they stole my 4Runner. The thieves upgraded the radio for me. Police caught it right as it was going to set sail for the Islands(The Love Manuel 4X4's) I was grateful the police retrieved it, still wished I could think the thief for upgrading my radio.
I once left a car broken down in my apartment complex parking lot, when it just happened to have a major head gasket failure (oil in coolant, coolant in oil, no compression at all on two of four cylinders - might have been a cracked block, but I wasn't in the mood to check since I'd been looking at buying a friend's spare car in better shape for not much more than the repair cost on that one) on a Friday when I was going to renew the registration Monday. (Obviously, that ceased to be a priority.) It disappeared after 4-6 weeks, so I assumed they'd had it towed for the expired registration. Not a huge loss, as it was just about due for a lot more work than just the head gasket. Plus it cleared out the best parking space for my apartment. (Yeah, it was a tiny car and I could have easily pushed it to a crappy space down the way a bit, but it was August in Texas and insanely hot outside.) Almost a year later I get a letter from a city about 40 miles away that my car has been parked too long in their city hall parking lot. Apparently, someone not only stole my car but replaced the engine, drove it ~45,000 miles, then let the battery die while they were at city hall for some reason and just left it there. Given its other issues, (transmission, suspension, and still had the tires that I was going to replace before the engine blew, which were by then way too bald for the highway drive back home) I dug out the title copy signed it over to the impound lot and gave them the keys, but it was still amusing that someone went to all that trouble to steal it and fix it, just to dump it because of a dead battery. Heck, I'd have given it to anyone who asked after I got the replacement car.
Harrison Stone We are in the USA. We have laws that say anyone is innocent until proven guilty. You cannot blame a crime on a person, even in this situation where it may be obvious, because there has not been a court case bringing out ALL of the evidence. It was a smart move for him to blur it out, because if that guy, although unlikely, did not commit the crime, he would have his reputation and identity destroyed. And then sue him in court for defamation or harassment.
Innocent until proven guilty is for when you're on trial. Regardless if the guy in the picture stole his car or not, the police obviously need to talk to him to move the investigation forward. Protecting his identity just makes it less likely any private citizen will recognize him and inform the authorities.
Insured or not, he can still file a claim with his insurance and list the detailer as the Responsible Party, since they had custody of the vehicle during the incident for business reasons. Insurance should take care of the repairs and subrogate damages to the detailer or their insurance. At least if his insurance is decent.
6:22 they were going 60 to 80 mph, that's funny these cops are the most safest cops I have ever seen. The speed limit in MA is 65-70 & everyone goes 75 without getting pulled over if you go slower than that your holding traffic up 🤣
Keem O I used to live in Wichita. The part of town they’re talking about is mostly residential and old commercial areas. Speed limits would be like 35 max in those neighborhoods. LOTS of train tracks and crossings down there too. God only knows what they tore out of that poor car
90 Mass. Pike all the way. MA drivers are crazy yo. In '86 I was a passenger driving down the turnpike. We entered a single lane with tight jersey barriers lining either side. People were doing 75-80 mph in that lane 12 inches from each others bumpers. I'm from Philly originally. People there drive terribly and sometimes fast and close but that shit was off the hook.
SB Johnson ah so many memories in gta III. I remember I had to complete the bank robbery mission I found it pretty har when I was younger even though it was just losing a 3 star wanted level.
@@Thunderbyrd. I doubt it, it looks like a pretty small shop, and this guy wasn't keen on pressing anything, so they could've talked it out and this guy had some compassion
Even if the detailing shop didn't have insurance, you can still take them to civil court. I would, in a heartbeat. It was their negligence that caused the loss.
@@frumpycrust - I have never hired a lawyer in my life. I have been in a courtroom twice, in 62 years. Once to testify on an accident I saw, and the second was in January 1986, for the only moving violation I have ever gotten. 66 in a 55. So, with that in mind, FUCK YOU.

@@JackLister Okay, I don't usually side with business. If you owned business, would you want to pay someone to watch cars dry? Would you want to pay a detailing shop to have someone sit around doing that? A good detailing can cost already upwards of $150... I realise it isn't perfect situation, but what would you suggest?

@@headlessbabydoll thus no comprehensive... theft not insured. The greater point is to call the police asap as they have a greater chance of spotting a stolen car within the first few minutes. I had a car stolen from my house while I was out of town. My neighbor saw it happen and called me. I called the police and didn't even know my license number but they looked it up and put it out to all police departments in the county within minutes of the theft.
If it's of any help, I did some research. He is wearing a Summit Racing Group Tshirt, if someone hacks into their records and looks at the orders from Wichita, Kansas. He will be easy to pin down.
You're lucky the news story heated it up. Did good for your subs too ;) The cops didn't do any evidence gathering on my stolen Excursion at all. They didn't even roll up my windows in the rain. They called a tow truck and called me to tell me where to pick it up. They didn't even meet me there. I had to go to the police department to sign for the truck. I'll give them credit for finding it in a couple days but no arrests have ever been made.
mckrackin5324 - when my Torana was stolen, the police called me and told me it had been sited in a train station car park. I had to arrange for my own tow-truck to pick up the vehicle. The only action the police took was to provide me with a stolen vehicle report in order for me to get the car park fines rescinded.
They collected evidence in this case because since the vehicle was taken from inside a business rather than off the street they can charge the thief with burglary, rather than just auto theft. Since he's a known repeat offender they can hit him with some serious time if he's convicted.
JonnyTaunton I work there. it would not just because of the age. we won't sell anything retail over 10years on the lot. we had a 2003 viper come in in great condition with only 30,000 miles and went straight to our onsight auction.
Dodo Meat Well, assuming they look in the trunk before starting it. You'll need to leave an address they can bring it back to in case they find the tailored suit and accessories after the fact !!!!
The really stupid people were the Detail Shop for turning their backs on a customer's car with the key in the igniton without having the outside door locked , and yes, they should be Public Liability Insured for Culpable Conduct for the full loss/damage value of any car they handle.
The Mouse I don’t think it’s their fault for the criminal deciding to steal. Things happen and you can’t account for criminals actions. Yes some things can be prevented but also consider that Hoover himself says r has always taken his cars their without an issue. So consider all the times a car hasn’t been stolen vs when a thief sees an opportunity and decided to commit the crime.
What? Locking the door with the car running? Ever heard of carbon monoxide poisoning? The detail shop gambled on not having the proper equipment (a dryer blower) so I highly doubt they have a more expensive exhaust gas system.
100% detail shop liability, it was in their care. They need need to either have a cage around the shop or have a different method of drying the interior with heaters etc. Take some precaution, can’t just say “oops”. Either way this dude should stop using that detail shop. Either way it ended well, I have yet to find any stolen property as thieves are well versed and more protected than the victims, if I find my stolen car I can’t do anything about it or I’ll be charged for assault etc.
OneEyeDrone okay so if you have children playing in your front lawn and someone decides to snatch them from your front lawn, who is at fault? If you have a fedex package left at your front door and someone steals it? Who is at fault? You or the thieves?
@@Nessaholiclover1 what are you talking about ? child abduction ?? how is that even closely relevant ? and yes your should be watching over your kids, most abductions happen from the front yard as kids are left unattended as a car would be left with keys running in it. This topic is very simple yet people try to complicate things. The fedex example is not relevant since its outlined in the product responsibility, just like no one is asking the detail shop to be liable for the vehicle once it is returned to the owner. However, are you trying to tell me that when you drop off your car for say an oil change you part ways and assume it can be stolen at any time and it becomes your fault ? The shop has liability insurance and the vehicle is in their car, just like fedex is in care of your parcel on their planes, trucks etc until it reaches the destination. If you live in a rough neighborhood or have the item stolen that becomes your liability as it is in your car and on your property at that point, just as the shop was responsible for the car, not to leave it with the keys inside running. If you have a secure parcel lockbox / drop hatch then your chances of theft are greatly reduced. This case is carelessness on the detail shop in their procedures and lack of liability. Im surprised they haven't lost even more cars operating with such rules. Things like this also happen when a repair shop takes cars out for test drives and totals vehicles in accidents etc, is that supposed to be your fault too ?? the shop in those cases takes the blame and replaces the vehicle as your insurance would for theft/total loss replacement value at that mileage / age evaluation. Its impossible to prevent theft, but its idiotic to make it even easier for thieves, then you are just asking for it.
This video popped up today 4 years after it was released on here. Ironically this is the first video of Hoovies Garage I ever watched. Great to rewatch this video again 4 years later. Hard to believe I have been watching Tyler Hoover for over 4 years now.
cops are mostly nice. i was going 61 on a 45 street at 2 am, a cop pulled me over. he asked my friend and i if we had drunken anything (we hadn't) and when we said no he was like "it's alright, just get home."
Dude be careful when putting your hands in a car after it's been stolen. Junkies often leave needles in them and you can get pricked. Always have the car checked first.

Sad news on the ML and your basic insurance. Over here in the UK, the shops insurance would have been providing cover while it was at their premises as it was in their possession. I would be pressing them for the claim for damages to your ML
Of course the shop is responsible. Good for them that it's found and they can probably fix all the damage. And he probably mentioned they are not insured as it's quite difficult to get right even you are right ... Maybe he didn't have a proper contract with them and to claim a law suit would take ages and costs a lot...
Few years ago, some thief stole my dad's crappy old fold escort 5-speed, broad daylight. I had a pretty good idea of it's visual quirks, broken rear spoiler, some dent in the front etc. Long story short, I spotted what I thought was it, 6 mos later in a Petco parking lot. Got my dad down there and that was it for sure. Only, the thieves had cleaned it up, fixed the e-brake cable and a few other things, along with practically detailing the inside. And the idiots left some note to each other to "call such and such" under the windshield wiper so we of course gave that to the cops too lmao! My dad drove it for like 2-3 years after that XD
+Rocketjay12 it's not a crime unless it can be proven that the driver KNEW it was stolen. Which is incredibly difficult. They would just have to give it back. If I buy a watch from you then am told later you stole it I'm not going to get arrested. I'd just have to give it back to the true owner then would be allowed to try and sue you for what I paid for being misled by you.
Kev Dog Lmao We weren't sure and why would that matter? We confirmed it was my dad's, let the cops know we found it since we had reported it originally and they did their thing with it then he got it back and drove it for a few more years. End of story pretty much. This was like a $600 or so car so no one really gave it much thought tbh.

Dr. Pepper obviously if the property owners hear a loud car and then trees snapping they can have a pretty good assumption that someone crashed it in the woods

Dude, if your car was stolen from the premises of a detailing shop while it was in THEIR possession; how are they NOT liable????🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
because THEY didn't steal it. You can only hold someone responsible if THEY are at fault. That would be like suing your local mall if you parked in their garage and your car was stolen. Following your logic, technically it was on their property so they're responsible for your car? Not a chance.
No name but the detail shop had the car running... and unsupervised
If the detailer damaged the car would he be held responsible similarly his negligence led to this which makes it the detailers fault
howd the dude not get caught. he posted a pic of himself with it
Exactly what I was thinking!

(Yeah, it was a tiny car and I could have easily pushed it to a crappy space down the way a bit, but it was August in Texas and insanely hot outside.)
Almost a year later I get a letter from a city about 40 miles away that my car has been parked too long in their city hall parking lot.
Dang, Dude. 2 years later, that still hurts to watch.

Nice job exposing the snitch, but protecting the actual criminal. Very smart
"I can't show the criminal because if you see him in your neighborhood you should get fucked like I did." Yeah, I don't really see the logic here.
Why would you call her a snitch? She's being decent by helping a guy find his stolen car.
She's probably the thiefs mother
Innocent until proven guilty is for when you're on trial. Regardless if the guy in the picture stole his car or not, the police obviously need to talk to him to move the investigation forward. Protecting his identity just makes it less likely any private citizen will recognize him and inform the authorities.
Wasn't the detail shop insured? Standard business insurance.

Insured or not, he can still file a claim with his insurance and list the detailer as the Responsible Party, since they had custody of the vehicle during the incident for business reasons. Insurance should take care of the repairs and subrogate damages to the detailer or their insurance. At least if his insurance is decent.

Its impossible to prevent theft, but its idiotic to make it even easier for thieves, then you are just asking for it.
in the future GPS track all your cars and have a text alert system set up

cops are mostly nice. i was going 61 on a 45 street at 2 am, a cop pulled me over. he asked my friend and i if we had drunken anything (we hadn't) and when we said no he was like "it's alright, just get home."
Dude be careful when putting your hands in a car after it's been stolen. Junkies often leave needles in them and you can get pricked. Always have the car checked first.
Yeah I looked through... Appears someone slept in there at least one night.
Hoovies Garage If you want a economic solution moving forward (No Really... I would provide service for Free...) Just want a plug, shout out etc for my Kids New TH-cam Channel. DM or email if interested.
Zyzz if so, police should get a dna hit or two (hair samples, skin cells, perhaps even body fluid traces) if perp has priors.
You should also wear latex gloves to avoid contaminating any dna evidence.
Zyzz The theif probably sat naked in the drivers seat and rubbed one out.
10:51 - It looks like the engine bay is fine, so it probably drives just fine. Maybe just some scratches, or a punctured tire.
11:46 - Looks like the battery is working.
There is nothing more ironic then someone who reads how to have a love life but still be a faithful Christian and is a professional car thief.
"Don't fuck with another man's vehicle". - Vincenzo Vega 1994
Mark Whitfield Straight to execution!
True that
Cheap ass detailer should have your own drying fans to dry the carpet
Sad news on the ML and your basic insurance. Over here in the UK, the shops insurance would have been providing cover while it was at their premises as it was in their possession. I would be pressing them for the claim for damages to your ML
It's the same here in the US. The shop is responsible for your vehicle while it's in their care, particularly if it's IN their building, which it was.
Of course the shop is responsible. Good for them that it's found and they can probably fix all the damage. And he probably mentioned they are not insured as it's quite difficult to get right even you are right ... Maybe he didn't have a proper contract with them and to claim a law suit would take ages and costs a lot...
Andy Ransley In the UK it would cost more than this man paid for the ML JUST FOR THE DETAIL:) Cheers
This is the First time in well over a year. THAT MSM WAS ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING GOOD ..
CONGRATULATIONS TYLER !
10/13/2017 THE NEWS REPORT IS FROM THE FUTURE
Awesome!
Smitty Jagerman how were u sure that it was the original theif driving it
Who cares? Whoever was driving it was in possession of a stolen auto. That's a crime too.
Special treatment for cheapest AMG in USA
Trombolio it's the engine that's rare
Pc George Still some german piece of shit.
Trombolio I will shit on your hood
MrChristoffer5700 I would rather have an old Mercedez. any care that is 1980+ is a piece of shit. esprcially from the EU,
they dont make stock engines as powerful and good as they used to. I'm not trying to sit here and shit on benz completely. yes i would own a lot of old benz IF i had the money.
But honestly there are many more cars that PERSONALLY i would rather have...
where's the video of you digging it out and the update on what it looks like afterward?! nvm found it.
What an unfortunate name for a news station. #KakeNews
bukkake news
Should rename it to #KeKNews
Wichita KS
more like cake news.
Now that's sweet!
Kake do you love me are you looking for my Mercedes for me cause I want it and I need it but it crashed through a forest🤣
Looks like you need to find a new detailer and make your detailer reaponsible
How exactly did somebody spot it deep in the woods?
Dr. Pepper property owner probably saw the tracks and followed them
Dr. Pepper obviously if the property owners hear a loud car and then trees snapping they can have a pretty good assumption that someone crashed it in the woods
That's what I'll like to know 🤔
"I'm Coyote Peterson, be brave, stay wild...."
There's a tire trail visible.
I was wondering today when I started watching Hoovie, and it was this video. Feels like yesterday - you've come a long way, man.
That ML55 is one capable SUV being able to outrun the cops
Mattwhitty710 I mean anything can get to 80 in a residential area, they could have caught the car but it would put innocent people in danger so they called it off.
Still not sure why they stopped at red lights, looks like a small town. Going code 3, people will hear the sirens.
Natzoo Dude, that's Wichita, KS. Not exactly a "small town." And the roads they were dealing with were Broadway, McLean, and Seneca. A chase in that area could be absolutely disastrous.
+Mattwhitty710 - A riced out 85 Civic could outrun the cops. You get it up to speed, run a red light, and they call off the chase.
It sure is a capable off roader. If I am to extract the vehicle, I would just put it on D and drive on to the next open field......no cost involved
I still wonder if he could steal you car if it was a manual..
On a hill
Robin Nicht he could but it would be hard as fuck
Jabez Bodden depends on who gets it, I owned a manual for many years so it would be no problem for me.. But before I had it i would not of been able to do it.
"Rare Mercedes SUV"
its rare cuz it escaped the scrap yard and made it to the streets
Well, it was a brown AMG afterall... but still, pretty stupid claim.
Not just rare, but Mercedes first "Hit Rod" lolol
Very rare he found a couple when he was just looking
Wow, I immediately recognized that detail shop, its right next door to where I used to work, lol
