A used, modified, notoriously over boosted and explodable engine and Hoovie scoops it up. I love it man. You’ve found a great balance of Bugatti ownership while keeping the roots of your channel going.
Notoriously over-boosted? They came with up to 400bhp with factory 3 year warranty. I should know…I sold one from a Mitsubishi dealership to a customer.
Boost is the least of the issues with this, the attempted break in, fake lowering, and stretched tires, front bumper ties are the true indicator of the people you don't want buying these evos and ruining them
Interestingly enough, I won the "Green Light" bidding on this car at Adessa, and the issues at the premium are why I gave it back to them. The transmission grinding was "solved" with fluid and LiquMoly additive which made it less horrible but it's unfortunately a synchro issue. The tune on this Evo was removed as well which is why the car runs well in Open Loop mode then runs like crap once warm. I did a compression test and while hot the car had good compression but a slight imbalance. The wide band "AFR" wire was also damaged before the shippers when I inspected the car. I'd HIGHLY recommend some Koni Yellow Struts and Swift Springs for the suspension. The axles are easy enough to rebuild. The catback & the header flex pipe will be easy to do.
Ha ha yeah sure try to get a shipper to pay for damage over the cost of the shipment 😂 If I was a carrier I’d say no damage coverage on that piece of junk - too much damage already on the car to make a claim
Car wizard now is lazy. Just waiting for TH-camrs to send cars to his shop and make money from content creation rather than being a honest to goodness shop.
This Evo was parts raided. This Evo did have the SSL package. Your headlights should be xenon's , recaro seats were probably ripped off before going to Carvana. It's a 2008. So it should have a metal valve cover too
One of my friends has been running 500hp for years no issues, and another has had to rebuild his motor twice. These things are either the best thing ever or a nightmare
For future reference. If you’re paying a commercial carrier to move something for you, you can be added to their insurance as a certificate holder which lets you file a claim on their insurance and get paid out without the carrier being involved. I am a commercial carrier and this is something that I offer with almost every load that I haul.
Whats the point, they will change their name and continue the same bad business. They also said its almost every shipper anyway, you aren't going to avoid it or call all of them out.
I used to be a car shipper. I only did really high end stuff and talking to a Rolls-Royce/ Bentley dealer I transported lots of cars for told me they paid me 3 to 4 times what they paid anyone else because even lots of the "good" companies have issues. They knew I really cared about the cars and the one time something did happen, a strap rubbed on a front spoiler, I called right away and took care of it. Now I just transport my cars and cars of friend's. Actually heading to Florida tomorrow with a friend's Huracan. Overall the car shipping industry is scary!
How did you get into the high end car shipping industry? I have a cdl and a couple years experience (otr and local) but would like to try something new and independent. Is the car shipping industry with high end cars still worth it or has it just gone to shit like most trucking has?
@shanet7511 I was very lucky. My dad and I had a few cars and an enclosed trailer to take them around at times. I also knew someone that worked at my local Bentley/ Rolls-Royce dealer. They had a situation where they need a Bentley Flying Spur and the buyer's dog from the DC area to Fort Lauderdale by the next day. In the late afternoon they called me. I called my dad to go with me, he went to take a nap while I went to get the car. We grabbed the dog on the way to Florida and drove over night. When I got back they asked if I wanted to do more! That didn't make it for me, I still had to put in a lot of work. To get other work I went to dealerships and asked if they needed shippers. I was able to say I've been working for the Rolls-Royce/ Bentley dealer which helped. On top of that, dressing well, being well spoken, and most importantly do the job well, communication, and respect for everyone involved. I also took the time to learn to do the new car delivery walk through for the cars I transported a lot. I took tons of Bentleys to Florida as new cars. Unfortunately, I got very sick not that long into doing that and spent 10 years nearly bedridden. 25 surgeries and dying twice later I'm finally doing great! For the first few years after getting sick I cut back to a couple clients and my dad did all the driving until I got too sick to even sit in the passenger seat. After I got better I got back into it a bit but in the last few years fuel prices got so high that the people that were willing to pay extra to have their car shipped enclosed in a one or two car trailer decided it was too much when that price nearly doubled. Now I just move cars for friends. I'm actually at a friend's house in Florida after bringing his Lamborghini down from Maryland. I was on the road or hanging out with him and that's why I didn't respond sooner. I tried to write this last night but fell asleep and it all got erased 🤦♂️. Long story short, I think if you can prove that you can do things properly I think there still is money in shipping high end cars. What you have to watch out for is the people that try, and sometimes succeed, in getting their special car shipped because people want the opportunity to move something special. The more expensive the car the more it should cost because you are taking a lot of risk. In the spring I was asked to move a McLaren P1 for a friend of a friend. I flat out said no because no matter what was discussed before or my history of nothing happening the risk with a 2 million dollar car is stupid high!
@thomasdemoor874 Yes, I had both. It's been long enough that at times I pulled the magnetic signs off the doors that had my company name and DOT number if I had a run that the timing wouldn't work. I would tell the dealership that what they were asking wasn't possible in the time they wanted if I ran legally. I carried one million dollars of on the hook coverage. Lots of people claim they have a million dollars of coverage but so often that was liability coverage not for the cars.
@@toddr3093 Ummm you answered your own question. They literally are the shitbox air freshener of choice! Wizard makes himself even more credible with these witty comments, and they are so hilarious! And true!
You need to call that shipper out. A mistake that you miss on a genuine inspection is one thing. Them knowingly causing serious damage and trying to cover it up is a whole other bag of worms.
I have an '11 GSR and have some insight and recommendations: It looks like your Evo came with the SSS package (Sight, Sound, Spoiler), believe it or not, that high-rise spoiler was actually an option initially, but the demand for the larger spoiler was so high that they eventually made it standard. Your headlights look like they are replacements as the first "S" in SSS would set you up with adjustable HID lights, the knob for them is located below the trim left of the turn signal stalk...unsurprisingly these HID headlights are not cheap either which is likely why they were replaced with halogen housings. Your AYC is most certainly the culprit behind the drivetrain error. Not cheap (~$2000), consider getting a relocation kit (~$450) which will relocate it into the trunk once it's resolved. They're notorious for failing due to exposure to the elements and salted roads. They can also be removed/bypassed which will lose the magic of the car's cornering ability. Fun fact, every vent and bit of aero on this car is actually functional, the sole exception being the driver side fog-light ( both sides also missing) vent; the passenger side fog-light vent cooled the oil cooler. It's also worth running the transmission "cocktail", it may help with the slight grinding in your shifts. These cars are so much fun and rewarding when they're running right, and I hope you get to enjoy this one once some of the mechanical issues are sorted.
They traded the stock recaros for what looks like final edition or base lancer seats 6:03 and either sold the stock metal valve cover or swapped a later year motor for whatever reason 7:43. The awd service req light is from a bad ayc pump(located in the trunk) 9:54
You got yourself a FrankenEvo, an Evo put together from parts of other dead Evos. Hopefully the AYC pump is in working order because that part is expensive. Look forward to see you bring it back to life!
A small bit of good news: the fuel door spring clip you need is only $7 on Amazon and you can replace that yourself in about 5 minutes. I just did that on my Outlander, and it's the same part on the Lancer/Evo. Most wear parts on this platform are relatively cheap.
When I had my Exige delivered by an automotive shipper...what showed up was a fully enclosed 18-wheeler trailer, with the car racks and lift built in. The driver maintained the inside of his trailer like a medical clean room. He personally covered each car in his care to protect from other cars in the upper rack dripping anything. I had been anxious, but when he showed me around and explained his process, I was put at total ease. He wouldn't let anybody else, like the seller or the buyer, drive the cars on or off his truck. He inched them along very slowly, stopping often to check clearance, tire position, etc. He was a class act.
car shippers...borderline criminals. Had a Lexus SC400 shipped years ago, driver dropped the top rack down on the car and put two HUGE dents in the roof at the windshield line and broke the windshield. Trucker unloaded the car a fair distance from my house, drove it here and then put that down the it was picked up with those dents. FRAUD! Long and short of it, finally their insurance wouldn't take care of it since it was a driver error....so to sue the transit, I had to take them to court in their home state of Florida (why is it always Florida).
@@privateer0561 umm it generally cost's more money to have it shipped, what you mean is either lazy or works his butt off and cannot take the time off of work to go get it himself.
@@privateer0561 Dude. Sometimes schedules don't line up and people have no choice but to ship. How can you make assumptions about someone and then immediately put them down about it? People like you give the car community a bad name.

The standard Evo 8, 9 and X had a 5 speed trans. The MR edition had a 6 speed. The 5 speed was known to be a stronger transmission than the MR 6 speed though.
This whole car is missing matched. It's an 08 so 08 had different options, even big wing in 08 was an option. This 08 is missing the metal valve cover and it's seats. This kid definitely sold all his desirable parts, reverted back to stock, and then sent to carvanna
Good luck, Tyler. I experienced the same issue with my Mercedes S65. Luckily, I had flown out to the dealer, took the car to the Mercedes/Maybach/AMG dealer for a PPI and took pictures of the car the day before it was loaded on the truck. There were several dings and damage to the car…predominantly from unloading and reloading the car between Ohio and California. Because all documentation was done on a tablet, the driver demanded me to “initial” the bill of lading and call the office with any noted damage. I took pictures of all damage and brought a witness with me to the truck stop where he did the drop. As I suspected, he denied ever removing it from the truck during shipment and any damage to the vehicle. I knew this to be a lie because his last stop had been to LA to pick up a bunch of lease return Teslas, which were bound for Fremont. Because I had paid for the vehicle at the dealership prior to loading of the car…the dealer suggested the shipper used and I paid for shipping via the dealer. This, and the diligence I took with pictures in both Columbus and in California, allowed me to file a claim with my insurance and the insurance went after the shipper to be reimbursed. It wasn’t big damage, but it was still $3+ k for the repairs.
One of those o2 sensors is an aem wide band sensor and you’ll need that for the tune to run properly likely. Also you need to find out if it’s been e85 tuned which is highly likely based on what I see.
Wonder what's been done to it and how much power it's even making, don't know much about these cars, but the comments here are definitely spelling out the fact that they're a tuning/mod heaven.
I lived without a car for about a year. My apartment was across the street from a grocery store, and I used the bus to commute. But if I wanted to visit family etc I'd rent a car from Enterprise since they'd come to my apartment to drop off a rental and I could take it back to them and they'd drive me home. I'd always ask for a small car, but one time they said they'd lend me an Evo (automatic) at the same price because I'd been a good customer, always returned cars in perfect shape, and they wanted to hold some smaller, cheaper cars for the holidays. I'd be driving it and at a stop light when the light went green, I'd touch the accelerator and that thing would fly. It really took me by surprise at first. And then people were trying to get me to race them at stop lights. Very fun to drive and way more power than the weight of the car could handle without taking care. :)
Pro tip. Start using owner operator hotshots to ship cars. We constantly exceed expectations, and as our reputations depend on it, deliver a good result every time. Rando's with a 3 car wedge, not so much.
I love my Evo X, it's worth fixing and saving. Good thing is there is enough of an enthusiast market so you can find lots of parts for it and the aftermarket parts are often cheaper and better than OEM. Also that AWD warning light usually means a problem with the AYC pump. That can be a few grand to replace, but I'd start by bleeding the system and checking for leaks. They AYC pump can also be rebuilt to save some money.
19:24 It's in open loop at the start until it gets hot enough it then goes into closed loop, closed loop is measuring the exhaust to alter the injection, the injection affects the exhaust that reads back to the injection hence closed loop.
I live in Houston and purchased an E36 M3 in Witchita Falls, TX back in 2017. I contemplated having it shipped but read about peoples bad experiences with shippers and decided to go over there and drive it home. Best 400 miles Ive ever driven. Super fun.
Make sure you don't do any launches with that Evo. They are notorious for launching diff pins through the transmission. Sometimes youll hear the pin rubbing the case from the inside as it lathe through the transmission case.
2008 should have had recaros stock Someone probably took them out and sold them and out the stock lancer seats in. The recaros became a option in later model years
Someone else noted it looked like the HID headlights were swapped for halogen. I wonder what other special Evo parts were swapped for cheap Lancer versions.
So happy that you bought an Evo! I purchased a stock 2015 GSR with just over 70k miles last year, I absolutely love it! Another thing to watch out for is the AYC pump, it’s located in the rear passenger side of the car. They are notorious for failing and having rust.
I had a ‘15 Lancer SE (Evo awd platform but normal shocks and 2.4 NA engine and CVT) and it was genuinely a wonderful car in every way. It was my first new car and I put about 85k miles on it and it never skipped a beat. I am probably the only one that did the proper 60k mile service to the CVT and fluid flushes as the manual states. It had some awesome engineering ideas in it - simple things that make you go “why don’t all companies do this?” like a window plug in front of the rear wheel where you can shine a light and check the rocker panels and pinch weld areas for debris or rust. For a daily driver, I had a hard time finding any complaints other than less than impressive mileage (which was on par with epa numbers). I hope the thing is still going today!
@@nathangiles8258 Ralliart was Mitsubishi's race team, this car is 100% a Evo, not a Ralliart. Ralliarts are hoped up Lancers, Evo's have their own chassis.
I love Hoovie walking around saying this is wrong, that is wrong, this is broken but it’s not that bad…this thing has to be mechanically totaled. It’s going to cost a fortune to get this thing straight.
As a previous Evo X owner. These are one of the funnest most reliable cars I've owned. Bigger turbo, on ethonal was a blast and it never let me down. Owned it for 6 plus years. 15k miles to over 100k miles. Replaced it with an Evo 8 however about 2 years ago.
As a former Mitsubishi employee that sold and ordered a ton of these evos back in the day that Car definitely “had” Recaro racing seats standard also if it had turn the key it would NOT have the push button on the trunk it would also be a standard key. It also appears someone has tried to add The Rockford Fosgate subwoofer as the package that gave you this sound system would also give you hid head lights and push button start. But it appears to have the headlight leveler button on the dash which would not be part of this package factory this is definitely a Frankenstein evo looks like many things have been added and taken away over the years.
In the USA you call them Miata but in the UK known as MX5. As Japan is right-hand-drive, used MX5s are imported into the UK in their 1,000s each year and instantly sold.
Wow that’s so funny I must have been scrolling Carvana at the same time! Just got a 2017 Lancer SEL in November! Would’ve loved an Evo but it was a little out of my budget. Found a fully loaded, top trim, final year, one owner no accidents on Carvana and couldn’t believe it. Even came with an OEM Factory installed roof rack! Hope to keep my new found treasure for years to come :)
Had a 1999 Lancer coupe I bought new. It was a fun and fantastic car. Not AWD but loved the 4 wheel steering and factory it had 18psi boost and you didn't have to use the clutch to change gears. Sadly they stopped making the coupe in 2003 and changed the engine line-up. The 1.5 litre matched to that gearbox was a weapon changing gears faster than an automatic. Plus it handled like it was on rails. Negatives were it did bottom out easily so I'm surprised this Evo was lowered.
"The Spirit of Competition" was Mitsubishi's motorsports slogan for much of the 90's to early 2000s much alike to Mazda's "zoom zoom". Still better than the "Drive @ Earth" they did after.

It was a fantastic thing to have happened. Massive kudos to both of you. PPS Publish the name of those cheating, dishonest, cack-handed shippers.
Fuel filter. Not getting enough gas. When you slow down the pressure allows whatever is blocking it to fall back and when you start driving it again the debris blocks the filter again.

I worked at a dealership back in 2012 when these cars were relatively new. The Middle Easterner Owners did not give a fluk about any cars. Drove like they were still over there lol! Me and A childhood friend were doing two pickups from an Auction. About a hour from the Dealership, he Drove a dark Blue Evo and I Drove a black Cadillac 6 Speed CTS-V back. The owners left before us cause we had dead batteries or something.. So we knew he’d call if there were any speed traps. We beat the crap out of those cars on the way back 😂😂. I was in front when we hit the highway and I got scared slowed down he passed me, then once we got off the highway on the back roads it was dusk and we were coming out sideways at every intersection!! The Cadillac had like 550HP 6 speed and the super charger would roar on off the straight but Dewayne drove the heck outta That AWD Evo and I couldn’t keep up on any turns from a stop or a sharp curve. We were together till the last 10 miles or so. He was already smoking a cigarette drinking a Twisted Tea when I pulled in the back dirt lot sideways. lol I didn’t really have the money anyway, I wanted to buy that Evo so bad but it was pre-sold. When I was in Automotive School one of the teachers said this was the only car he’s ever seen that destroyed itself when it wasn’t even running. Good ol Lancer.
As someone who had shippers damage a car, I know how much of a struggle it is to get them to pay out. They gave me their insurance info, but their own insurance company couldn't contact them to get any info on the incident. In the end, the shipper did pay me, but I believe that's only because I called them multiple times a day, every single day, until they paid me.
The ricardos weren't an option. They were standard and only the 2015s didn't come with them because they didn't want to re crash test the car for the new regulations. The previous owner sold the seats and put stock lancer seats in.
Many car magazines of the day reported them as the best seats ever made and should be in every car, especially the Corvettes of that era with their floppy bobble head seats.
Sounds just like the 2008 Supercharged Toyota Mark X that I bought here. The car was severely abused and neglected by all the prior owners. There was glue used to stick the trim panels in place - and even staples used to hold some wrap that was done shoddily over the dashboard. The sad truth is that there are a lot of drifty boys who buy and trash such cars because they just want to race the heck out of it and not spend a single cent on vehicle maintenance. Sure sounds like a hooptie - but I hope you can manage to get it fixed up, Tyler! Great content as always, and keep the videos coming!

That manifold is cracked. The stock cast manifolds on the X always crack eventually. Upgrade to an MAPerformance exhaust manifold. 2 options, Aftermarket Cast or Tubular. That corrugated part of the exhaust is the down pipe, they sell new aftermarket, which is best practice for replacement. For parts for the EVO RockAuto. They have best price with varying quality on just about everything OE Replacement parts. The sensors, only go with Denso, same as Factory. You should check if the master cylinder was ever upgrade from stock, and whether or not the car has a Clutch Fork Stop, or an ACT monolock collar on Clutch. They both can keep the clutch together. One wrong shift without either/or will result in needing to pull your transmission to reassemble the throw out bearing. Stock TOB is 2 springs and a Clip, there’s an access hole under the transmission, you can remove the rubber cover and shine a light in to find out what you have.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

ight a few things your gonna have to do, as an EVO X owner since it's inception I had to deal with a lot of shit for this car. here are the main issues your gonna have to look in to as well that wasn't mentioned. 1)If the car has seen snow and salt that AYC PUMP is fucked and will need a rebuild or Replacement Code would be C161E on the OBDII 2)Get a tactrix 2.0 and evo scan, it will help you with remote tuning or messing with the evo x's ecu if your aren't going to a local tuner. 3)The turbo and exhaust manifold are notorious for cracking and having massive exhaust leaks, would definitely look in to that, MAP has a good exhaust manifold that's absolutely solid 4)THE TAMING CHAIN! GET IT REPLACED ASAP IF THE CAR HAS A LOT OF MILES, EVO'S FROM 08 TO 13 ARE LIKELY TO HAVE THE OLD CHAIN AND ARE PRONE TO STRETCH! 5) Change all the fluids on the drive train and make sure the Transfer case isn't whining, if it is and it feels like it's kinda slipping on higher gears it might be time to have a look. 6)CHANGE THE FUEL RELAYS! and check the fuel system make sure the previous owner didn't have an aftermarket fuel pump. 7) try to remove all the shitty mods added by the previous owner!
The service AWD light is for the center diff actuator pump it is located on the right rear underside of the car and for a while Mitsubishi was replacing them under recall. I had mine done for that issue. The car would just randomly go into limp mode and require a shut down.
My wife still drives a 2002 lancer. 😂 It. Won't. Die- btw.. I know you loved your grandma. I just lost my last grandparent 2 days ago. He was 92. You should have seen his cars, big Cadillacs
My 2003 Lancer also refuses to die, I bought it 20 years ago and it's been extraordinarily reliable. Even drove Florida to California 2600 miles with absolutely no issues.

This is actually a good purchase at that price. You'll have a pretty well sorted Evo for 15k. Beyond on the cosmetic issues, most of the mechanical stuff is pretty simple and these cars are reliable if you keep them under 500 hp
You need to get a new AYC pump, which is located under the right side of the rear bumper. Get the AYC relocation kit also which relocated it into the trunk. That why your AWD Service indicator is on. Also that Evo definitely was parted out because the seat should have been Recaros and the valve cover should have been aluminum not plastic.
The engine cover is from 2010+. Before they were aluminum so I would guess that it may have a 2nd engine as nobody goes for the plastic one and rather installs the pre-lift aluminum one. It should have the Recaro seats. Only RS models had FE in the US had normal seats. Still a great purchase. These cars are really underrated.
It has probably been commented already, but the “ spirit of competition “ is the moto of ralliart. The mitsubishi racing division. Only the true homologation specials EVO 1 to 6 will ever be really collectible and appreciate in value, as the later were not homologation specials. Also a common fail point on evos is the fuel flap release plastic springs. You need to pull the release lever while simultaneously stretching your leg and pushing the fuel flap with your toes at the hinge side of the flap. Its an easy fix thought to replace the release mechanism.
Interesting you shared only the base Evo came with the manual! I own a '15 Outlander Sport with the 5-speed and it was the same deal: anything above the base model was a CVT. I love the car, it drives like a big Lancer.

Notoriously over-boosted? They came with up to 400bhp with factory 3 year warranty. I should know…I sold one from a Mitsubishi dealership to a customer.

Tuner Hoovie Arc 💪
@ That’s not how you spell Tyler. 🤪😂😂

I'd still go back on the shipper for the exhaust damage. They KNOW they did it so make them pay for it.
It was probably delivered by Carvana. Should be an easy fight.

For future reference. If you’re paying a commercial carrier to move something for you, you can be added to their insurance as a certificate holder which lets you file a claim on their insurance and get paid out without the carrier being involved. I am a commercial carrier and this is something that I offer with almost every load that I haul.
How much extra does that cost?
Really good to know. Thanks.

Do you transport internationally?
Why should I pay for THEIR insurance? The shipper just blatantly destroys things and that's somehow my problem to insure? Nah
Call the shipper out! People need to know if they should avoid them
Whats the point, they will change their name and continue the same bad business.
Were you licensed and did you have insurance or what?
Thank you for caring about cars

You need to call that shipper out. A mistake that you miss on a genuine inspection is one thing. Them knowingly causing serious damage and trying to cover it up is a whole other bag of worms.
I have an '11 GSR and have some insight and recommendations:
It looks like your Evo came with the SSS package (Sight, Sound, Spoiler), believe it or not, that high-rise spoiler was actually an option initially, but the demand for the larger spoiler was so high that they eventually made it standard.
My guess is it's an engine swap
The stock valve cover is plastic. You upgrade to a metal one when you go bigger turbo because they can melt. It's the stock motor
@ the metal valve cover came stock on evo x until 2010
☝🏻yep that’s correct
Also 2008 cluster but has 2010+ taillights

A small bit of good news: the fuel door spring clip you need is only $7 on Amazon and you can replace that yourself in about 5 minutes. I just did that on my Outlander, and it's the same part on the Lancer/Evo. Most wear parts on this platform are relatively cheap.
Why do you own an outlander?
I need that, I got to prop my lever with something and then I go out and open the cap in my Evo 😂
Lesson: Flying is cheap. Make payment after an in-person inspection. Then drive it home yourself, cheapskate.
Find your own shipper or pay money for a higher end shipper. Many drivers are foreign, barely speak English and could care less about your stuff.

This should be fun to watch! I sold my fully built Evo final edition last year. Absolutely loved it! When it ran….
19:24 It's in open loop at the start until it gets hot enough it then goes into closed loop, closed loop is measuring the exhaust to alter the injection, the injection affects the exhaust that reads back to the injection hence closed loop.

But it appears to have the headlight leveler button on the dash which would not be part of this package factory this is definitely a Frankenstein evo looks like many things have been added and taken away over the years.

@@starfox_wr-45e93 I’d need to check the promo stuff, but I think the 360 got it as well. The 400 was wild to drive (I had to shift it between two of our branches) and you definitely bought it for the experience, not the comfort or build.
I always felt they were more hedgehog than shark.
Stock TOB is 2 springs and a Clip, there’s an access hole under the transmission, you can remove the rubber cover and shine a light in to find out what you have.
i used to tune these and was heavily involved in the openecu community.
what a wonderful platform. nothing feels like these on the road. queued to watch. let's see what they did lol!
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.
You should be going to MIT or something.
The fact you got 20 likes while quoting the same joke everyone else has for 20 years, while getting the quote wrong like everyone else, is really sad.
It's "a motec systems exhaust"
Name the shipping company! I'm sure many viewers would appreciate it... I'd hate it if one of my cars got trashed like that.
Yes!!! Even if it's not worth it for him to go after them, please make a PSA for everyone to avoid these shippers.
Bought my 350Z for $2k last year. 2003 early production, touring, 6MT with factory LSD. First one sold new in NC in 2002, preordered before they were even delivered. One owner, garage kept, meticulously maintained, and bone stock. It’s quite possibly The cheapest and cleanest clean title running and driving 350Z sold in the world if not just the US. Living the Hoovie life 😎
Any repairs needed?
@ nothing major so far, previous owner did the clutch, brakes, tires, fluids, and fixed an oil leak from the oil pan (replaced the pan) before he sold it. He daily drove it for about 20 years so it hasn’t been sitting, and whatever it needed it got. I’ve just been cruising and enjoying it, and fixing some random odds and ends (blower motor, trunk struts, minor trim pieces needing re-clipping). They’re GREAT cars if you can find one that hasn’t been riced out and have been loved and taken care of
Ok so why/how did you get it for so cheap? Based on your description It should’ve been double or triple that price.
@ uncle bought it new, so I got the family discount 😂 and at the time it had 215,000 miles. But it’s a well maintained and cared for 215, so I trust it more than most used cars out there
It's also one of the worst and slowest years for them. Park it for any extended period of time in the sun, and it's joever
ight a few things your gonna have to do, as an EVO X owner since it's inception I had to deal with a lot of shit for this car.
here are the main issues your gonna have to look in to as well that wasn't mentioned.
1)If the car has seen snow and salt that AYC PUMP is fucked and will need a rebuild or Replacement Code would be C161E on the OBDII
2)Get a tactrix 2.0 and evo scan, it will help you with remote tuning or messing with the evo x's ecu if your aren't going to a local tuner.
3)The turbo and exhaust manifold are notorious for cracking and having massive exhaust leaks, would definitely look in to that, MAP has a good exhaust manifold that's absolutely solid
4)THE TAMING CHAIN!
AWC module is what I was thinking about .
Those front seats don’t looks like the factory recaro seats … they look like base lancer seats
I seriously thought that sticker on the hood said "The Spirit of Constipation"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣good one
My wife still drives a 2002 lancer. 😂 It. Won't. Die- btw.. I know you loved your grandma. I just lost my last grandparent 2 days ago. He was 92. You should have seen his cars, big Cadillacs
My 2003 Lancer also refuses to die, I bought it 20 years ago and it's been extraordinarily reliable. Even drove Florida to California 2600 miles with absolutely no issues.
35:08 you know, I have watched so many of your videos and never noticed the picture in wizard's office. I love it it is very Kansas
"there's no new ones..." with the swipe of the hand!!! I love it. My mechanic is absolutely awesome and the same way. Mad dismissive but honest and affordable. But he has it right, he's off to the lakehouse whilst im slaving to keep my BMW products from doing BMW.
A JDM car??? It looks so strange and out of place in the hooptie garage
I love it
Not a JDM car since this version of the car was sold in the US. This car is a USDM Evolution XI
JDM would be RHD
This is actually a good purchase at that price. You'll have a pretty well sorted Evo for 15k. Beyond on the cosmetic issues, most of the mechanical stuff is pretty simple and these cars are reliable if you keep them under 500 hp
I guarantee it needs a new engine
"Is this Mansory edition?" 😂
Wizard is funny 😂
*19:15** No. That's exactly backwards. Cmon bro. I don't even wrench turn anymore and I could remember that.*
Explain pls
Hahahahahahaha
The first new car my wife and I bought was a 2009 Lancer ES with a 5 speed it was a great car, always wanted an EVO
reminds me of the one i wanted to buy when i was 19. could afford the car but not the insurance
You could sue the transporter for damaging the vehicle.
Insurance....
Or just file a claim in their insurance carrier.
Or just use the leverage of 1.5 million subscribers and threaten them to disclose their business. It may be a little shitty to do, but it's shittier to break something someone paid thousands for and not be honest and dump it on them.
I wanna know what vehicle transporter company is that so that i will not do business with them if the dummies responsible are still working with them. And if you are the owner of a business that has a driving role, you would wanna know the name of the idiots so that you will not hire them.
Dunno what happened there, but HORRIBLE audio hoovie! Man, i had my ipad up so loud and barely heard anyone but yourself. Otherwise, thanks for a cool video.
0:40 Someone never did research on Evos. "dont break that often" Most owners are known for them being on jack stands more Total time than they have ever Driven them.... They are broken more often than not!
Best advice for buying an evo is to buy stock and unmodded.
Are they unreliable or is it the bone head modifications and stupid driving that does it?
@@Aerzon1v1bad mods, getting high HPs on cheap, sometimes stock parts.
Stock they last good, thing is most of them at any point are going to be owned by someone that does it bad.
The Evos on jack stands are only there because of their owners wanting 1000+hp out of them, i myself have a 2008 gsr FBO, and it has never broken on me or given me any issues i bought back in 2014 it's been my daily
@@Aerzon1v1 Bad owners. They are one of the most "hooned" vehicles along side stuff like the Wrx and Sti. Stock unmodified babied ones will run forever. For both Subaru and mitsu. Its cheap mods, Not getting them tuned, using Access ports for "off the shelf tunes" that usually blow them up.
Hey man just to let you know I believe the strut bar is oem it’s just painted and the intercooler also looks stock to me. Best of luck 👍🏽
