I used to work at a dodge dealer and we had 2 hellcats stolen one night, a track hawk and a Durango. They somehow disabled the trackers, we heard nothing for weeks, and then the trackers went off one day I guess as they were removed and one ended up in Germany and the other in China. Car theft happens almost exclusively at dealerships these days. Most dealerships are incredibly stupid and have a super naive sense of security which makes it very easy for a group of thieves to break in and be gone with 4-5 of their most expensive cars within a couple of minutes. It's way more difficult and way more risky comparatively to be trying to steal vehicles out on the street or in someone's garage.
My 1967 Firebird got stolen a few weeks ago out a secure barn. The same thieves took 2 other classic cars around the city in the same night, totaling $120k. I live in a place where car theft was never a problem until recently. recovering cars is just not a priority for my local, county and state police. Really sucks that it’s gone as that’s what got me into cars.
One of the woldest things I have seen was at Walgreens. I pulled into the parking lot, there was a Charger parked in the nearest spot at the entrance. Whoever stole those wheels need to go and tryout for Nascar or F1 because they were fast.

Few years back a guy that lived in my neighborhood had his challenger stolen from his driveway by a couple of teens. Problem was this dude was in a biker gang that one, didn’t take too kindly to having one of its members robbed and two, was extremely well connected with the criminal element. Few days later his car was back in his driveway and there was a missing persons report filed on two teens that were known car thieves. Last I heard they still hadn’t been found.
My friend's civic was stolen and many months later we were on our way to a rave in socal and saw the car with some chick sitting in the front in the parking lot of a shopping center we stopped at and confirmed it was his car so we called the cops and had to tell them exactly where the car was and had to describe what the chick looked like. We watch a whole sting operation go down in real time and watched them arrest the chick and he ended up getting the car back!
I can testify to older Accords getting stolen. I had a 94' accord back in 07'. For a 20 year old kid at the time, it was a pretty decent car to have since I had bought it from a bit older friend who had it repainted, lowered it (cut springs, I know they suck), had subs, exhaust, stick shift, and some nice black/steel 18's on low pros were on there. Within 2 years they tried to steal it 6 times. The first 2 times they failed & just jacked up my window gasket/rubber trim. I then installed a touch sensitive alarm with remote feedback. I remember waking up 4 times that same summer to having them try and break in and even caught one of them running down the street. Heck, they even had tagged up the garage door at the apartment I used to park at. My downstairs neighbor one day told me the graffiti was an auto theft ganging marking my car to be stolen. I got rid of that thing & got a 3 series, and no one ever bothered me again.
"Heck, they even had tagged up the garage door at the apartment I used to park at. My downstairs neighbor one day told me the graffiti was an auto theft ganging marking my car to be stolen." That is 100% an urban myth.
The one vehicle in Canada , Ontario specifically that is stolen frequently but oddly not on any list is the Cadillac Escalade and Yukon . I work for GM up here and some are being taken off our lots . If you have one of these vehicles relocate the horn to the inner fender , its what we are doing at the dealership , its the first thing they pull out to avoid setting the horn off . Some owners even remove the fuel pump fuse .
@@BrockVillain In Canada its a different story . We have had 9 Escalades stolen in the last month alone . Had my Trackhawk stolen in 2021. Heard it start from inside my apartment and ran outside to see the taillights leaving the parking lot. Instantly pulled up the gps tracker and called the police. The state troopers caught up to him on the highway and he ran the tank dry trying to get away eventually blowing the engine at 160 mph after I turned off the car remotely. He ended up being bailed out from jail the same night unfortunately and I never heard what happened with the case. Insurance paid me more than I bought the car for so that was nice.
@dw1894 I don't understand why the engine have to be turned off remotely AFTER the "tank was dry"?? How could it be running on a dry gas tank? But a better question is if you could turn it off remotely (I don't think that you can?) why didn't you do it immediately after you knew it was stolen??

I saw a news story that cataloged all of the car thefts that took place in my area over the past few months or something, and most of them seemed to be caused in part by old people exercising questionable judgement ("ohh, I'll just leave my car running in my driveway, I'll only be in my house for a minute. I'm so proud of those young boys outside for wearing their masks and not spreading COVID-19 :)"

I always worried about my FD being stolen, so I installed a hidden kill switch and aftermarket steering wheel on a removable short hub. How was I gonna get to school? How was I gonna pick up my siblings from school? I think the V6 Challenger is reported as stolen more often because insurance company receptionists don’t know which model to select and end up choosing the first option listed.
Or V6s are more commonly found in low income, crime-ridden areas because they have a cheaper price tag than V8s so that's what's most available to criminals.
If someone is a car thief and are just going to flip the car to a chop shop for a few bucks or use it to drive around for awhile, they're not going to turn their nose up at a v6 if there is an opportunity to take it.
14:23 Yep, I can believe it! My 2019 Dodge Charger ScatPack was stolen back in 2021. Was at the store for about 20 minutes and came out to find broken glass where I parked. @@KidLatin27 There are things you can do to make your car less appealing to steal. A hidden fuel pump cutoff switch and ignition cutoff switch can make it harder to steal. Most of these drive-by thieves aren't carrying sawzalls or angle grinders so a good old steering wheel lock like the Club can dissuade them. Wheel boots can slow them down because they have to get that off too. These thieves are looking for an easy score, not something they have to work for. They want to be in and out quickly. There's no such thing as a theftproof car but you can make your Hellcat less appealing to steal than the one down the street.
This is what dumb criminals think..."I'll just outrun the cops with my 807 hp Hellcat Redeye!"...and then radios and helicopters enter the chat. They eventually found the truck the next day abandoned 30 miles away in a neighborhood of Anaheim Hills.
For anyone looking to prevent theft. You can splice a switch in your neutral safety switch or fuel pump relay. Hide the switch. Neutral switch kills power to starter. It’s awesome.

Range rover parts are so eye wateringly expensive new, there is a massive demand on used/refurbished parts. So when they are stolen, they will mostly end up broken. However the most stolen car now here is the Ford Fiesta, ford stopped making them and the parts are getting harder to get, meaning that the market for parts for it is massive. For anyone wondering why the charger is so easy to get into neutral, the ZF 8 speed it uses leaks pressure down internally in about 15 minutes after engine shutdown.

Ever since i got my car I would of never thought I would've been a victim of car theft. That was until, one day when I was at work, they managed to steal my 97 civic from the parking lot. I think the V6 Challenger is reported as stolen more often because insurance company receptionists don’t know which model to select and end up choosing the first option listed.
Ok bud
Or V6s are more commonly found in low income, crime-ridden areas because they have a cheaper price tag than V8s so that's what's most available to criminals.
If someone is a car thief and are just going to flip the car to a chop shop for a few bucks or use it to drive around for awhile, they're not going to turn their nose up at a v6 if there is an opportunity to take it.
It's because it's the same demographic stealing all of thise dodges...

Did he leave the keys in? Or had he not locked the car doors?
For anyone looking to prevent theft. You can splice a switch in your neutral safety switch or fuel pump relay. Hide the switch. Neutral switch kills power to starter. It’s awesome.
Yup. They're really easy to install. On all our old farm rigs the ignitions would eventually go out(old trucks) so we'd just splice in a switch instead of replacing the ignition.

Reason for the range rovers getting stolen is like most cars this side of the pond, parts are worth more than the car itself. Your talking about a car sold in it's millions, with a huge chunk of those going to younger drivers who really don't want to claim on insurance, or have massive amounts of money to spend on repairs either.

So many Dodge Chargers, etc. were stolen, or were attempted to on Hot Rod Power Tour that the owners got creative trying to protect them.
Removing relays, blocking them into parking spots with trucks, etc...
Thieves were basically following the tour because they knew there were a bunch of easily stolen Dodges.
I think it's important to note that the Hyundai/Kia thing really only applies to the models that do not have immobilizers in the turn key ignition. If you have a push button start or an EV, this is obviously not relevant. But people hear stuff like this and assume it's every single Hyundai or Kia ever made.
Exactly, my GF's Sante Fe Sport got wrecked as thieves tried and failed to steal it. Lol. Not a lot of smart thieves out there, cept the high-end ones I guess.
I had my 91 Honda crx si stole and striped. I lost as much in stereo system as the car. This was in 1994. And ironically they found it in an alley a block from where I work now.. The sticker rock thank you
A buddy of mine had an 89 Chevy Z71, 5 speed standard with 1.1 million kms on the original engine back in the day. He bought a 383 stroker to replace the original oil burning engine in that truck when his brother worked at a GM dealer and it got stolen shortly after that. ICBC paid him out 13000$ but when they recovered it,the engine and tranny were gone,of course. He bought the truck back because of the sentimental value he felt in it.
Has James lost weight ? Looking good !
Look after your heart, we need more of you in our lives
hes been losing weight for awhile hes been lookin great
This was exactly why I got rid of my Challenger some years back. I was becoming too paranoid.
Same here bro my Durango was getting broken into way too much. Had to let it go
A lot of them get picked up by the repo man for non payment..
I live in Milwaukee, also the reason I got rid of my Charger, and I got a garage. I seen a guy park his Widebody SRT on the side of the street everyday. Don't know how he does it, but also don't know what other car to get. I'm thinking a manual M3 since it's manual, but I also don't know how to drive a manual. Gotta start soon tho.
Good point haha! @dubsessed9790
@@iiBeasttt I didn't have a garage at the time. I don't live in a bad neighborhood or anything but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to those cars. I ended up going with a Camaro SS. The only thing I really miss about the Challenger it is the cabin space. Those M3's are dope though, I'd say go for it if you find a good deal.
I started with the SXT. That one taken at a stoplight in Chicago on a main street at gunpoint. They found it like 3 days later not too far from where it was taken. I upgraded to the RT 3 years later and kept it for a year and a half before getting rid of it. It just wasn't worth the headache in my opinion.
Love the cap 🧢 homage to

Had a Ford Torino, more rust & holes than paint. One time after getting off of work, note on windshield. "Move your car further down the street, it's running down our property taxes on the business."
Great video ... but why not do another video about solutions and tips to prevent these things from being stolen.. just a thought ..
Of course the chicken people is stealing the hellcat
My 1976 Ford Pinto Squire (vinyl fake wood siding) got stolen(!) in early 1993. It had 85,000 miles on the clock, cracked windscreen, body damage, sun-damaged paint. Fortunately, it was never recovered, so I didn't have to worry about impound fees if it got recovered. Probably made it 40 miles south and across the international boundary.
Love the not-explanation on how to steal a dodge! Always wanted one of those
All cars have a process to unlock the parking paw. Dodge is just used more.
theft in general is becoming a big problem in the world again
Wonder why?
@@zackandjessadventures6219 cause theres no discipline anymore so they can get away with anything they want to. you slap your child on the wrist and social services get involved. its stupid

This video is good timing. My work colleague had her car almost stolen at our work yesterday (we caught them in the act and police were already chasing them and they tried to ditch there car!) she owns a Toyota mark X (essentially a is250 but a Toyota version) and is one of the most stolen cars here in nz
This is so heartbreaking. My pushbike got stolen recently. The thief used a fob to gain access.
I love how this unexpectedly turned into a history lesson and I am all about it!
Love to see a video of how to prevent or fix your car to not get stolen
Look up how to install a kill switch.
I think the Talbot Lago story is hilarious because the thieves were basically just like, "you're taking too long to put this damn thing together!" and did it themselves.
I also love the idea of buy what is essentially a parts kit, getting all the pieces stolen, registering it as a stolen car, and getting a completed vehicle back once it was found.
Gotta say it….I love the DJ Screw hat. RIP to the legend.
🤘🏿
Love the intro with the car on blocks.
I have an Accord, and my boss has a 1st year Q50. Neither stolen yet. But my ex had her Civic stolen.
