Wish I live closer. Recently went to podiatrist & after 3 visits decided I need to get lab work for naturopathy which I will follow with. You have given me more then any doctors I have that I met with.
Each podiatrist only gave me insert pads or metatarsal pads. Never took time to do a . Seems just like we are on the clock visit. Thank you for all you do. I did give you a review of 5.

The only shoes I can wear are slip-ons, not a good shoe when it gets cold….my feet hurt so bad. I just had x-rays of both feet and am waiting for results. I can no longer wear plain sneakers, just open sandals. Pain in my feet is constant.

I started skiing recently. Late in life learner at 36 and its been 2 weeks since my last ski trip and my left foot still has numbness and soreness. Had issues with left foot burning in the boot while skiing. This video is eye opening for me because it isn't healing. Starting thus routine and no barefooted walking. Thank you!!!

OMG Man I am so thankful that you've put out this info . For years my podiatrists have done nothing but give me these painful insoles and told me to wear them for at least 8hrs. a day for the next 3-4 weeks . They have never discussed what the issues could be other than neuropathy. Nothing they have done has relieved any of my pain , as a matter of fact it's gotten worse to the point that most days I can't even walk but a few feet before my feet are killing me You have given me more info and options in 20 minutes than I've gotten from any of my doctors in over 20 years. I hated last month going to the neurologist because they did that freaking nerve testing and didn't stop with the 1st set of tests they felt they had to make it even worse by using a needle to prick my nerves and send me some electronic intensified shock treatment . All this torture to find out that this issue has been torturing me for years ! I'm going to take your advise and give it a shot , what have I to lose. It seems as though my doctors don't give a rat's behind about the pain I've been dealing with for years now. Just as long as their getting paid from my medicaid and medicare by giving me these insoles that aren't worth a dime !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, Morton’s neuroma tortured me for most of my life! Horrible horrible pain. My left foot is slightly deformed, with the metatarsal a bit too short, so ball of foot for me is between big toe and next toe. Burning horrible pain. When I was 35, I was out stomping my left foot on the ground and crying about the pain and yelling for the pain to stop. And it did!! I cannot tell you what the relief of the pain stopping felt like. So wonderful. And now, about 30 years later my left foot has never given me pain in all the years since then.

Love the clarity. I injured my foot in a slip and bent it backwards severely. Here in my part of Oregon, there is only one foot doctor available, so it took 4 or 5 months to get in. Everything he said made since regarding the injury and he suggested a pad and surgery if it doesn't get better. Well, since then, a hammer toe developed seemingly overnight. Your video caught my attention, and I realize so much was not assessed regarding my balance. It has been a year and four months with little improvement. I will try the stretching exercises and a new doctor in Portland somewhere. How can I shop for a good foot doctor? I feel bad for all the other patients getting the same treatments of a pad with no assessment. Thank you for going a "step" further.

I have excruciating, burning pain in the ball of my right foot. I have never worn shoes with high heels though I danced five nights a week for a decade wearing flimsy shoes. Resulting bilateral foot pain inspired me to consult with a podiatrist 40+ years ago who advised me to begin wearing Birkenstocks. They helped somewhat. I developed a severe case of plantar fasciitis which was relieved by losing 20lbs. weight, wearing New Balance walking shoes with a wide toe box and having custom orthotics made in his office, using plaster of Paris until it hardened to the shape of each foot. Then peeling off the cast. I didn't like them as they felt as if I were walking on the top portion of bowling balls. They were made of hard blue plastic with a softer replaceable cover. I was given foot exercises, such as rolling a water bottle filled with frozen water back and forth under each foot. Eventually, I regained full range of motion and could walk with little or no pain. Yay! Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with a 10x14x16cm. mixed ovarian cyst which required surgery for removal. 7 months later, having never fully recovered, an abscess broke in which a foul-smelling liquid spilled out from my vagina. I was referred to a general surgeon for a colorectal barium enema to detect the origin of a colovaginal fistula. My surgeon was pleased that it showed up on the light board as being in the sigmoid colon as he reassured me that a fistula is harder to repair if within the rectum and it often does not fully heal, requiring further surgery. I had the second abdominal surgery within 8 months. Frustrated by this rare and challenging series of surgeries as well as having suffered with abdominal pain from adhesions, scar tissue, I was more than ready to be done. My body, however, was not done as I woke up in the recovery room, holding the PCA button to self-administer morphine, surprised that the highest level did not lessen the excruciating, burning pain in the forefoot of my right foot. Morphine was very effective in nearly 100% relieving the 11 inch vertical incision scar yet did nothing for my poor right forefoot. Surgeons were puzzled and referred me to a vascular surgeon. I was referred to a neurologist, and a few other specialists, finally arriving at a podiatrist's office. My foot was purplish, very cold to touch, swollen (edema) with toenails growing in strange ways as they curl upwards, are layered and very painful to cut. My dear husband cuts them for me as I scream. She diagnosed me as having CRPS, complex regional pain syndrome, formerly called RSD, reflex sympathetic dystrophy.. She referred me to a pain specialist, who informed me that there is no clear cure for RSD but polypharmacy, trying many different medications from different groups, is the method for treating its symptoms. No one knows what causes it though it involves nerve injury, thus the burning component, excruciating burning pain as if walking on hot coals. Its nickname is "the suicide disease" as people before finding meds that help to reduce their pain are often suicidal. I was before being prescribed Oxycontin 10mg. It took the edge off enough to give me hope as I spent two years trying different meds until I found ones I could tolerate that were effective in reducing my pain. I've also tried every procedure that claimed to offer pain relief from a series of lumbar sympathetic nerve blocks, which gave me temporary yet nearly full pain relief up to one week. That was sooo wonderful though I was devastated when the stubborn pain returned. I gained a few extra days with each block though my pain doctor felt that it was no longer beneficial, given the risks involved. I tried Calmare and got substantial pain relief for five whole days, yet followed by worse pain than I had when I had started. Fortunately, after three horrible weeks, pain returned to my normal level. It scared me bigtime to think that I might have to live with worsened pain. I lost momentum and my willingness to try any experimental procedure in hopes of some pain relief. Then Covid hit and gave me an enforced rest break. It's been a rough road though I am finally at a pain level that gives me the ability to walk, even dance if I do it briefly, with tolerable pain most of the time except for some awful nights. It is unpredictable for the most part though I am aware of things that will reliably trigger greater pain. I have sound allodynia, sound sensitivity such that loud noises, even loud pleasurable sounds, will exacerbate my pain. My husband is fast at muting loud music or applause or screams in movies.
.My new pain doctor ordered a neurogram of my right foot scheduled for this Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, as he suspects that the pain could be due to a Morton's neuroma. Though skeptical after living with one consistent diagnosis for 19 years, I hope he's right as I've been diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, which began after a colon resection 19 years ago. If the cause is a Morton's neuroma, the nerve can be surgically removed. The downside is the likelihood that I will thereafter have numbness in the toes and possibly forefoot. It seems that there is no free ride within the world of medicine.

      Angela, thank you for watching.
We really hope that you feel better soon, that is tough for sure! We really hope that your condition will start to improve. Usually there are some physiological causes of numbness or tingling in the feet or toes. The best solution is to visit for consultation with your podiatrist as there as many possible causes of this sensation and identification of underlying causes may require in person examination or imaging of leg.

    2. I have Varus / Supination , and was a high instep but now with age it seems closer to average. Your recommendations only refer to people whose gait and arch shape are quite o
different. What orthotic insole advice can you suggest, also what sort of shoes and slippers. I have a nartow heel and i never wear slip-ons. I cannot find any better site than yours, it is really thorough. Thank you

Wow -- this gives me hope. I have horrible numbness and pain in the balls and toes of my feet that activates and gets worse when I walk. It's gotten to where I can't walk any kind of distance without real discomfort. I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy by a neurologist, but the bloodwork shows it is NOT diabetic neuropathy. I've just been told it's an auto-immune disease. I'm 47 and in grad school and this is very frustrating and scary -- the symptoms are about 18 months old and getting worse. My question is can Morton's Neuropathy manifest with fairly equal symptoms in both feet? That is generally my experience -- it's not just one foot. I know you can't diagnose without a visit, but I'm just curious if relatively equal symptoms in both feet might still present Morton's Neuropathy. I will start stretching and will make an appointment with a podiatrist. Wish I was in Michigan!

thank you for the content that you have provided. about four months ago i started to experience sharp pain in the plantar plate area on my left foot. My chiro thought it was a neuroma because i favored my left foot and gave me a list of exercises to do every day. The pain has been greatly reduced though i still feel pain around the ligament on my 2nd toe and a dull pain around the plate area right beneath the toes. I thought that i was on the road to recovery but yesterday I discovered a slight "V" shape between my second and third toes which i believe may be a tear. I have taped the toe, as you instructed in another video, and will make an appointment with my local podiatrist monday morning. a couple questions though: 1: i have my annual orthopedic exam at my chiro monday morning. should i postpone that until after the appointment with the podiatrist? 2: my job has me standing long hours though I do have good quality Keen shoes with custom made orthopedic cushions. should i take time off so i am not on my feet until my appointment with the podiatrist? I am afraid that he wont be able to see me for a couple of weeks. 3: outside of taping should i continue to use the ice-bottle and toe "scrunches"? i have flat wide feet and my second toe is the longest.

@@DrTomBiernacki the local podiatrist told me that in all of his years helping people with foot problems he never came across someone who correctly self diagnosed the problem that they had. He initially thought i was a medical doctor myself. I confirmed to him that I was indeed a DR specializing in BS :) After doing the x-ray the "knuckle" on my second toe is now flat whereas all the others are round. Dr. Allen said that fixing the deformity of my toe was not possible but the plantar tear can be healed in 6-8 weeks. he recommended using strips of moleskin from the local walgreens. The only question that i failed to ask is if i have to worry about arthritis in that toe as i get older. Anyway, thank you for your help. i am actually enjoying watching your other videos since you seem to take a holistic approach to medicine.

I have had tingling in my feet for over 5 years... but it began on my left foot, only my second toe from big toe. Drs. say because it is likely due to major car accident in 2009 where I fractured both pelvis's and sacrum .... they said it was likely nerves being pinched... and they said to strengthening my core muscles (like a 6 pak). The tingling is now in both feet, no pain, just tingling. Any suggestions as I'm 75 and likely not getting a 6 pak. n. thank you.

I have been experiencing a sharp, needle-like pain in the second toe of my left foot, next to the big toe. The pain occurs only when I press on the area while walking. The type of shoes I wear does not seem to matter; the pain started after I walked 6.5 km in a pair of rough shoes. Normally, I wear closed walking shoes that are not very wide. I am not diabetic, and this pain has been persistent for the past two days. What could be the issue?

So, I have this from wearing very heels recently for an event for about 5 hours. There is no pain though, just numbness in my 4th toe.

I am frantically looking for something that will alleviate my husband with his neuropathy foot pain that is constantly prominent pretty much unbearably at night time when trying to sleep.. it is a horrible situation.. he will shake the bed due to the pain.. just as I think i'm able to drift off to sleep he shakes the bed and i'm kept from sleeping as well. it's messing our lives up.. more so because of him having to deal with this excruciating pain night after night.. I'm looking for something that will stop this problem instantly.. I dont need all the background / education reasons why .. I know it's here and it needs to be stopped.. what do you recommend? are the foot neuropathy wraps useful? he doesn't want creams and supplements take time to work .. plus the price of those promoted are so expensive that an ability to buy a bottle isn't going to work at all if it does, then there's none left til you fork out expensive costs to get more. Need help .. I am beyond stressed out with this problem .

Talk to your doctor. There is medicine for relief. I go though the very same thing.

What do you call it when the balls of your feet feel as if you stepped on 16p nails?
My toes are mostly numb and have like ingrown toenails on both big toes.
    How do you fix that?
    I can barely walk.

I fixed my in grown by cutting e V into the middle of the nail it receives pressure on the sides eventually you can clean out your toes and cut nails right back

Hello love the video helped alot. I'm honestly still waiting on my x ray to see what the diagnosis is. But I just wanted your Input. So I'm a dancer and we dance on the palms of our feet. I recently had and incident where I stepped on an object during the time I was dancing. It bent my toes up a little. And I felt this pain the next day on the palm of my foot and in between my toes. Wld u say it's neuroma or did I just strain or bruise my toes n palm of my foot?

I have to push to find it. Don't notice it while walking.

Can too much driving, braking often cause it. My brake n accelerator is higher than in a normal car. My friend noticed same thing as she has same car. And also i probably dont walk good plus in winter same shoes n thick woollen socks so it gets tight in shoe. I do not wear high heels but my work shoes.
