      Could a brain injury cause pain in the ball of feet?

    • @jonogren5567
      @jonogren5567 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@thunderbird3694 if your brain don't work. Neither will your feet.
      Do this. I've had problems for 20 years in my feet. My Drs. can't fix it. So I had to do it myself. Tap the back of your head and back of neck. Or squeeze back of neck. My pain goes away. I used to never sleep because of the pain in my burning feet. Now pain is manageable and I can sleep 7-9 hours a night. Dr. Alan Mandell says use a hairbrush. My hand does just as well. Good luck. Also I'm on gabapentin.

      @@jonogren5567 thanks for reply!
      My podiatrist put me on Gabapentin 2 years ago and it only helped a little with the pain in my feet, but did improve my sleeping. I quit the Gabapentin after 1 year because I totally lost my libido and read that was a possible side effect of Gaba.
      I believe brain injury & bleeding was at front right area of my brain, but I suppose that does not rule out injury elsewhere to my brain. It used to feel like I was walking on sharp rocks, but it has gotten better over this past year to where I can actually walk a couple miles/day in soft shoes and it feels more like bunched socks under balls of feet instead of sharp rocks.
      I have no pain in feet when I am sit-in for lying down, but I do get severe cramping in feet and legs during the night on occasion.
      How long do you tap/squeeze back of your neck?
      Did pain in your feet go away the first day?
      Thanks again!

    • @jonogren5567
      @jonogren5567 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thunderbird3694 as much as needed to kill the pain. Like you said the burning pain is worst at night. It's because it's so quiet at night. Nothing to distract the brain like during the day, housework, watching TV, etc. So I will tap and squeeze an hour before bed for about 30 minutes. The longer the better results. I do this at least 3 times a day, when I'm not busy.

    • @jonogren5567
      @jonogren5567 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thunderbird3694 actually the pain did get better in a couple days. I keep at it because I enjoy sleeping. I had years of sleepless nights of shooting stabbing pain in both feet.

    Exercise in water has been very good for me.I have footdrop after backsurgery, nervepain in my feet. I am living in Finland, hot sauna and cold water after sauna also helps for better bloodflow. Days after swimmingpool and sauna I am nearly without pain.

    I got the Covid 19 last year in August, 2022. I was sick for about 2weeks at home. About the 4th day the bottom of my feet started to feel hot and i always were searching for a cooler spot on the bed sheets to rub my feet against. I knew that was a new and unusual feeling that started with my Covid sickness. Well, it’s been 8 months now and that problem didn’t completely go away. Now I have more cold then hot sensations.I don’t feel the hot water in the shower when I step in. My legs from top to bottom are not the same as before I got sick with Covid. My dr send me for a ultrasound scan, and the blood vessels were good but nerves were not tested. And I don’t have diabetes, cholesterol is a bit up but that’s nothing new. Looks like I have to get more tests done, this doesn’t look like it will go away on it’s own.😢 Thanks for this info and video!

    Thank You thank you! My doctor & I have been pursuing the many possibilities of circulatory problems for months-not wrong, I do have circulation issues-but now I know I have neuropathy AS WELL. I could go into boring detail, but suffice it to say I am a textbook case, with all the symptoms you describe. A nurse showed me the flexing exercise you describe just this week; I will add the others to my regime. I have been using the supplements you mention just for a week or two, but mainly for liver protection and general health. so I was about to drop them from my budget. Now I will consider ditching my smart drugs instead. I have saved your video for later review. Thanks!

    I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. One of the very worst symptoms is exquisite levels of nerve pain, mainly wherever there is a high concentration of peripheral nerves. Face, genitals, legs especially feet which is the very worst area. The most distressing pain feels like I am being constantly roasted and burnt everywhere but the most devastating area is my feet which constantly experience unremitting levels of pain made much worse by cold. Although I understand why this pain is present all the time I believe that to much emphasis is always put on the fact I have advanced secondary progressive MS. However, all though I accept this consequence of MS I strongly believe that there is another problem running in parallel. The blood supply to my feet (and other periphery areas) is poor especially in my feet.
    I am looking for someone to provide me with advice on how to ensure my nutrient levels are sufficient to ensure my blood supply is not impeded

      I am curious . Did you have blood labs taken before all the pain began? My coworker is currently out of work because a couple months ago, he had bloodwork, and the nurse tore into his nerve while taking blood.
      Ever since then, his hands and feet feel like they are on fire, and the cold air makes it worse.

    I'm so thankful I stumbled onto your videos!! The information you share helps educate me. What can you suggest for someone who works on her feet all day? The foot pain is bad enough at work, but it's awful once I get home so much so that it hurts to walk and the pain interferes with my sleep badly. Some nights I'll apply Tiger Balm and still takes me hours to finally be able to sleep. I'm only 56 but I hobble around the house like I'm 90 once I lay down for a bit and try to get up even just to walk to the kitchen or bathroom. It seems like I'm in constant pain no matter how many hours I can lay down. I've been in bed for a week now with COVID and I still hurt like I put in 10 hours on my feet each day. Like my Mom & I always joked, "I'm way too young to feel this old!"

    You are right it might be my spinal cord injury which caused the numbness. Only an ortho surgeon is available in my country. I dont think we have PODIATRIST here. Let me check.

So I just wonder if I should go back to my podiatrist or see other specialists. I will try find the best solution because I think I might not be able to work anymore because of my foot issue…. I have pain in my foot, legs, and hands. My feet feel like they are freezing much of the time. Last year I had two blue toes, which we, doctors and I, thought were frostbite. I had tests to check for blood flow to my feet and legs. The test results were normal. The toes looked nearly black. Slowly, the skin healed and peeled off, and the toes looked normal again. This year, the same thing happened on the opposite foot on my little toes. It was determined that it wasn't frostbite because I had not been outside in the freezing temperatures. Then, little dark purple spots began appearing on the bottom of each toe, and these spots were extremely painful to stand on. These spots are slowly healing and scabbing over and peeling. I have an appointment with a vascular surgeon. Sometimes, a good part of my foot looks like purplish blue. I found something on the internet called blue toe syndrome. This led me to
    Ischemic leg pain. I also have MS to confuse matters. Is this a circulation or never issue?
    I would appreciate any insight. I tried to attach photos of my toes but I have not been successful. Also, I am not diabetic.
    Thank you for your information.

    What are your thoughts about the benefits of walking barefoot to re-educate the foot, which brings a multitude of health benefits o ones body - according to numerous recent studies ? Have you ever watched the documentary on Earthing ? Itvexplains the idea of grounding oneself to the Earth's vibrations, thanks to physical contact to it...
    Cheers and thx for the advice.
    Ps: though my doctor says I have gout, she cannot explain how I get it as I don't drink and was vegetarian for 9 out of 10 episodes. ... Also, peripheral pain and burning in my left foot over the years was - I was told - due to HIV drug treatments. However, no foot doctor ever examined me...

      Personally, if you are having foot pain, most people get the best relief for me with more support (proper cushioned support). Then when the pain improves, we can incorporate more minimalist walking to strengthening later. Most people who push barefoot walking are already healthier without major biomechanical issues.

    Ausgezeichnet! Vor allem die ganz normalen alltäglichen Übungen. Für die Nahrungsergänzungsmittel hätte ich gerne gehört, welche Lebensmittel es ebenso oder gar besser tun.

    I haven't found any shoes that don't compress the forefoot. Sandals mean that my toes don't get squashed. But how do you keep an orthotic in a sandal? Best solution so far is metatarsal pads.

      I lost 60 lbs during covid and also gained many benefits. Now it's just the calluses that hurt.

    I do all the things but I really found that rubbing my feet 3-4 x a day ( I am retired so I can do it) with various creams helped. I alternate CBD, Voltaron and good basic skin cream. I also get acupuncture.
    I am seeing a neurologist and so far have inconclusive results. My MRI was excellent, so not a back issues. Still waiting for some lab results.
    I take vitamin D and Calcium for osteoporosis. I also take B1 but if my labs indicate it, will add B multivitamin. I started taking Magnesium Glycinate recently for sleep and mood and it’s been really helpful.
