Have this exact tool, did a lot of reading on Amazon, Google etc.... market is flooded with the Chicom tools. Saw this Lisle tool kit, said made in U.S.A., which encouraged me to hit the buy button. Used it yesterday 8/1/23, first double flare came out perfect. Iam using the Copper/Nickle tubing, 3/16" X 25ft purchased from 4lifetime. Now if I can replicate the line from the MC down to the proportioning Valve on the frame, and copy Fords zigzaggy line, and get it to line up. Charlie
After 40 years in the automotive field I bought one of these and I gotta say there is not a brake line safe in my shop. It is just fantastic. This model does 3/16 and 1/4 inch lines. Bubble and inverted flares. Well made and good for tight spaces.
There is a slight difference between single flare and bubble. Usually you can get away with it , but if you're working on an Asian or European heap that actually does use bubble flares get the tool that makes bubble flares.
@thefixerofbrokenstuff I'm with you on this and well aware. Haven't vsen able to find a good double flare tool for tight spaces though probably going to buy the chinesium vevor hydraulic just for bubble and quick disconnect fittings.
I love all the commentary. I subscribed just because you're entertaining. I already have and have used the tool, came here for a refresher on whether it does bubble, double, or inverted flares because I forgot all the details.
Nice tool kit. I struggled with the elcheapo flare kits for years before I stumbled on to these more professional versions. And I also ran the NI CO line on the rear of my F250. That stuff is great
Neat! Very similar to the Titan 51535 I got off skamazon, but it only does 3/16 (thru also have one that only does 1/4). I'm good with the Titan since I don't need 1/4, but nice to know there's a tool that'll do both.
I just got mine and it is not holding the line from pushing back during F1 step. Cleaned the line and the tool clamping surfaces of all grease with lacquer thinner. Even tried sanding the end of the line. I'm sure the tool it all hardened so not able to punch some dimples in the clamping groove. Tightened the 2 bolts good and clamped in vice too. Steel line. Using a tubing cutter and greased and went just a little at a turn to reduce work hardening. Anyone have any tips?
Just found success. First, I heated the end up red hot with a propane torch. Very fast. So annealed the steel. Second, I ran the chamfer tool a little deeper to create a slight bevel in there and it went like butter. So not sure which of these 2 things did it but maybe it will help someone.
I just recently bought nickel copper brake line on Amazon labeled 4Lifetime. Its not nickel copper, its magnetic. My local parts store carries AGS brand that is not magnetic. Thirty bends for the first line, then another thirty bends later i installed real copper nickel.
Pretty cool little unit, takes a lot of the guesswork and wrangling out of it. It appears to be single flare only, doesn't do the double flares so many things use? Also, that copper/nickel brake line is amazing stuff. I did the whole front end on my 64 Sprite and even with a couple of REALLY tight bends I was able to do them all with just my hands and without a tubing bender. I can't recommend that stuff highly enough. They even sell kits specific to your vehicle. BTW, I share your feelings for the Chinese Commies. All Commies now that I mention it. Especially our domestic variants.
@@supersportimpalass moron, I watched the video and I have been a mechanic for over forty years. Graduated from the Ford ASSET program and was one test away from being a Ford certified Master mechanic when I walked away. I have fixed things you have never even heard of. I guarantee that.

Roll it up on a piece of pipe to get the "spring"

Yup. I wondered where it had been all my life too.
How does it do bubble flare? Says single or double flare right on package.
@@Ryan-mc3mx single flare is the same as bubble. Flare it once for bubble twice for inverted flare.

It's funny because all the old school mechanics are always like that for some reason ...just hilarious

Thank you sir. I wanted to buy US, and you sold me on this setup. It seems like the best option out there
I've since used it many times. You won't be disappointed.
@@thefixerofbrokenstuff ran a couple of test lines and got nice flares right away! It's a nice tool, and compact
Love what you said about the tool .

Well presented, thank you.
It is my pleasure

I'll add, it did nicopp easily after using tubing cutter and chamfer tool. Perfect flairs too!
Fine tool, works nicely
Never knew, thanks
No problem
Does this make bubble flare?
It makes a double flare, standard on brake lines.
Thanks, good video!
Glad you liked it!
It will also flare 1/4" lines but won't flare soft steel lines.
I've done a couple steel lines and it worked for me.
Thank you sir. I've had the cheap foreign brands and they suck so I prefer to buy this U.S.A made unit. Thanks again.
No problem. It's worth a small premium to make work for our neighbors.
Hello,
Looks like a good tool... nice review...
Cheers.

The first end of the threaded tool does a bubble on the end of the tube. The other end finishes the double flare.
Yup. Thats the ticket.
So either you didn’t watch the video or you’re commenting on a subject you know nothing about. Typical.
