    This helped me for sure! I just did a simple front speaker swap with some JL audio c1s. Very good and responsive speakers, but since they are much thumpier than the stock civic speakers, they were creating a rattle that was driving me nuts. I spent my entire day just putting foam around the bracket, speakers, and the door. So far iv minimized the rattling to a good enough point. When I do the back speakers I’m just gunna rip all the door apart again and go to town on sound dampening and foam

    Thanks so much for videoing this!! I plan on working in my own soundtreatment in my Civic XI doors one by one.
    First I will do just treatment and see how it sounds without any rattle at high volume.
    Maybe I wont even feel the need to do a whole new audio system.
    Its honestly my only gripe with this vehicle.

      Thank you. Sound proofing works wonders for sure. The right materials, installed properly, in the right locations can enhance any audio system. We have sound proofed many cars where clients just needed a little better sound and sound proofing gave them what they needed without having to upgrade speakers, install amplifiers, etc. There are still benefits to upgrading speakers or adding amplifiers, etc. it just depends on what your sound goal is. Also understanding what aspects of the sound will change with sound proofing. For example if you are trying to get more accurate high frequency response from the current speaker system then sound proofing will not do much for you there. But if you want better sounding midrange, and better sounding bass then sound proofing will definitely help those areas. Sound proofing and DSPs should be in every car regardless of model or audio system. Without sound proofing and DSPs no audio system, factory or not, can truly perform to their fullest potential.

    NICE Job! I like the cloth wrapping of clips IDEA!, I may do this as well, but maybe put on the base and cut a slit so its a little easier to slide in. People do not realize how time consuming it is to do doors, panels etc. I am sure its sticker shock when you give customers the estimate for sound treatment.

    • @sorealsounds
      @sorealsounds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Clip or mounting base will work. With cloth tape like this ( Tesa Tape ) we find it tends to fall off the base after a short amount of time so the next time the doors come off the tape can easily let go. Wrapping the head of the clip has been extremely reliable for us. Fully doing doors the way we recommend can be a sticker shock for some, but not as much as you would think because of our process. Once our clients understand the value in sound treating a vehicle our clients they understand exactly what they are investing their hard earned money into. We give our clients all the information for them to choose the right solution for them, so sticker shock is not a huge issue.

    What thickness Hushmat megabond did you use on this project and is this your typically used thickness?

    • @sorealsounds
      @sorealsounds  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We use all three thickness all of the time. Which one we use depends on reason, and available space. On this car rear deck was 1/2” and door panels was 1/4”. 1/8” was used in many spots through out the vehicle with our installation not shown in video.

    How do you connect the adapter to the speaker?

    • @sorealsounds
      @sorealsounds  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The adapter has pre drilled holes in it for screws in typical bolt patterns of speakers. The adapter is designed to use the factory mounting bolt from the factory speaker, the bottom of the adapter has tabs to fit into the lower portion of the door, and then there are additional screw holes on the bottom corners so you can secure the bottom of the adapter to the door better.

    Which speaker brackets did you use top mount aftermarket speakers to the doors?

    • @sorealsounds
      @sorealsounds  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Metra 82-7805. Be aware many speaker magnets are drastically larger than the factory Honda speakers. Many times modification to the factory speaker opening in the door must be done to fit the new speaker, even with this speaker adapter.

    • @sorealsounds
      @sorealsounds  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no part 2. The subwoofer enclosure was built for a Civic prior to this one. When the client got this Civic we transferred the subwoofer system. This video was second upgrade made for the interior speakers and DSP amplifier. What specifically are you looking to see in a part 2? We can check to see if we have any videos that have what you may be looking to see.

      Thank you! There are still quality audio facilities left in the US. Unfortunately majority of the shops are not, but if you do your research you should be able to find one of the few good ones left in our industry. A great way to help your research would be to call the manufacturer of the audio products you are looking to purchase or install and have a conversation with someone in that company to see who they would recommend in close proximity to you. If multiple manufacturers point you to the same place then you know you are on the right track.
