If you compare multiple videos you will notice big difference between the various cars And this honda has one of the best sound I've heard on this channel (take for exanple the Vw golf 8 test.. difference is huge) What is sure is that you must watch them with high quality headphones like I do
@@shemmy7302 I work for Honda for 28 years, and I can assure you that Honda Motor company does not manufacture speakers. They never have.. They are not Honda branded.. They just don't carry the manufacturer's name in the on lights. I'm sure this system will sound good, But to say that the 580 W 12 speaker system that came in the previous one didn't, is just idiotic. That system was the selling point when I bought my sport touring. My point is, the previous system was no slouch… and I doubt the name will make that much of a difference in this one. Not enough to drive the Fugly mobile it's attached to. Maybe, for the 2 dozen people who are using "lossless files". I have very few. My music collection started when memory was a premium.
It's the first time i see such a well made review dedicated solely to a car sound system, and the highway testing was very relaxing too, almost ASMR like... You are great, keep it up! Btw i love the new Civic, hopefully the hatchback still got the 6mt!
I really hope this is a sign of good things to come for the Accord too. A sound system like this is what the Accord is missing. The weak sound system was pretty much the only significant reason I chose not to buy one.
Yeah but its probably next year till a new Accord come in... they already did Jazz, Civic, HRV, Oddysey, City (though most of them in Asian market) .... only Accord & CRV left

Not to mention the headaches... I passed on the Accord due to fledgling audio options. I'm now in a 2019 GLI with the Beats stereo you reviewed. You scored the Beats a 6.5 - 7. The Elantra N is scheduled to drop in July, presumably with the same Bose 8 speaker system offered in the Limited Elantra. You scored that system a 7 - 7.5. Also upcoming are the Si and Type R variants of the Civic. Both will hopefully offer the Bose 12 speaker system you reviewed here. You scored the Bose a 7. Would you please share your thoughts on how the 3 systems compare, strictly as it relates to sound quality? Also, I find it interesting you scored the Bose system with less speakers (Elantra) slightly higher than this Bose. It makes me wonder if the 12 speaker system of the Civic only offers more speakers to implement the surround sound effect (Center point). And does it do so to it's detriment to pure sound quality? It would have been good to know how the sound deadening is in the 2022 Civic. Then we'll know how high or low the volume has to be to enjoy the sound system. Good video through.
I own this exact car, paint and all... I wore my Hifiman Sundaras with a nice AMP/DAC and this recording is decently accurate to the car! The one thing I noticed is the mic pics up road noise way more than I experience in my car on highway. Also the highs are dampened jussssst a tad, but 8.5/10 for accuracy to the sound system, and agree this is such a great system. Not having to pay thousands for an upgrade to decent sound, at least intro to hi-fi sound level, it was worth it. I agree it is 7/10, my Sennheiser HD600's are way more clear than my car, but the mids and bass are where this car shines (granted bass floor is quite a bit higher than my old P3 Rockford Fosgate).

That Morning Mist Metallic looks real good on the Touring trim. I heard the bass is even better with the Hatchback with the subwoofer mounted at the right rear. I would guess the remaining two speakers are somewhere in the roof pillars near the rear seats, since it doesn't have a rear shelf like the Sedan.

Just got this car. Thought the bass would be better. My 2020 MX-5 probably had twice the punch out of it's subwoofer. I set the level to 6 but still a little underwhelmed.
You have to get the right music to play with good bass in the track. It does indeed thump really well and most importantly crisp and clear bass when you do.
Where is the subwoofer located?? How is the rattling on high bass and high volume?? I really hope it's not in the middle of the deck like previous Civic Touring, which rattled all the time!! Please let me know!

I imaging the only difference is the factory sub location. Most likely in an actual enclosure in the trunk instead of the free air sub in the rear deck
I test drove one of these, the whole car is very nice, at least compared to the crap it used to be! Sound system was pretty dang good in the touring model.
I am also surprised to see rear deck speakers/subwoofer in a small sedan. Most cars (sedan or not) don't even have speakers behind the rear passengers! (speakers behind the rear passengers' head give a surround feel.)
To be honest the only thing I will probably change is the subwoofer. Free air subs just dont have the output and low end extension as a enclosure. After a while ill probably change the speakers out, but as of now im impressed. Ive installed and tuned many systems in various vehicles, but i may hold off until i get bpred of the bose.
Just came from test drive. Sound didn't feel natural. Lack of soundstage. Felt muffly. Was expecting better from a premium sound system. Also quite a lot of road noise was present. Very good for a honda but if you are looking for a top premium then it's not.
Buyer beware. This civic already has problems stacking up. Brake pedal malfunction off showroom floor. Moisture build up in new LED headlight units…reliability slipping
I have this car. Sound system is great but, road noise is terrible and takes away from the sound quality. You can have the best sound system but if road noise is terrible, it doesn’t do the sound quality any Justice.
I still have yet to find a stock stereo system that sounds as good as the bose 9 speaker in my '08 Altima Coupe. I work beside a Honda dealership so I may need to sneak a peek at these :)

About time, they upgraded the accords sound system as well due to so many complaints with the old generation but I still wouldn’t try to blast it, it’s not branded so I know it might still be a bit sloppy😂
The only thing this system is lacking is some bass. Idk how easy it is to tap an external sub into the bose wiring. Whats the easiest way to add another sub?

The sport touring hatchback and type R have both had a 12 speaker 580 W stereo system since they were introduced in 2017.

My 1989 Honda Accord SE Coupe had standard Bose system. Bose is not new to Honda. Honda just got cheap, especially with interior features.

You are experiencing the overall Bose sound. You heard so much about it but not so impressive when you hear it in person

Yes. This is a center point surround sound Bose system. The Elantra just has a standard Bose system, the Sonata gets a center point system though

That Bose in the Altima coupe was one of the worst sound radios I ever heard. Totally gutless past clock radio volumes.
