@Scott Miller you're right... Soundstream used to be very legit. They still make decent products here & there, just have to know what Soundstream products to buy these days. Sad they went downhill. Scott I have still have a Soundstream headunit in one of my cars that I installed back in 2015. It's been solid up until a few months back. When trying to use the CD Player it will make it shut off & back on & then switch between all the media sources. Very frustrating & on top of that the radio transmitter has gotten to where it will not pick up local radio stations. So I'm ordering a new headunit. I was going to get the Bluetooth Soundstream double din w/navigation, DVD player etc but I think I'm going to shy away from Soundstream this go around & spend the extra $ on Sony. I really like the new Sony ax7000 that has the high output onboard 45 rms x4 channel class d amp built in. It is cta-approved rated rms which should sound nice until I stop being lazy & motivate myself to install my 4 channel amp.
@@itdoesntmatterwhatyourname6128 do they carry the same sony headunit in a single din. I need something like that because I keep frying my 6x9s evrytime I hook up a second amp to run highs or mids. I get a very dirty signal and ive tried just about everything except upgrading my stock alt because of some whining I get from just connecting the remote wire to second amp.
@@RomaVilla you are wanting a single din headunit that puts out 45 or 50 watts rms x 4 channels? If that's what you're asking then yes Sony also offers their "High Power" headunits in single din aswell, even make a couple of the High Powered units in Marine rated! Btw the Sony Ax7000 I mentioned in my previous comment is actually a single din chassis besides it having a full size almost 7 inch touchscreen. It didn't make much sense to me a touchscreen being single din because they a typically all double din chassis. But go look at pictures of the Sony ax7000 headunit so you'll understand how it is considered a true single din headunit then you'll see what I'm talking about. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger & going ahead to order it even though the ax7000 lacks some features that I think Sony truly should've included for their customers. Its chassis behind the touchscreen monitor is so small (like other single DIN headunits) & I think it is also slightly shorter in depth too which is why it does not have a DVD/CD Player.... The single din design sure seems like it will make it easier to fit in dashes where space is very limited. I know my vehicle does not have much space behind the dash so this unit should benefit me greatly as I have a lot of RCAs & other added wires, amp, dsp wires etc that I have to connect to the back of this headunit. Roma2189 Villa have a good day, hope my comment helped answer your questions or clear up confusion.
Dude wanted to break this amplifier for some reason. 6000 watts with no impedance rise at 1ohm... something that would never happen in real use. Pretty amazing amplifier for the cost.
Definitely a faulty amp I've been running one of these for 4yrs now even made the mistake of letting the positive sub wire hit the negative battery terminal sparks out both ends 😂 shut it down turned back on didn't skip a beat now I'm currently pushing 2 skar zvx 18d1 at 1ohm and it's crazy good love this amp
❤ absolutely not to mention his system had big issues. Dyno has it's thang and head unit issue 😢 how about you fix your shit before you destroy others stuff and bash it
Exactly!!! That's an insane watts per dollar amp! I have one and have been running a couple of ID 500wrms subs until I get the 3 12 box done and I can't wait to run it at 1ohm.
And absolutely massive, too. We had a rack mount PA amp at a music shop where I worked when at college in the early '90s and it was 19" by 30" by 4" and need two people to carry it, and that was only 2 x 500w!
20 years ago it woulda burnt the car down these things are for small setups to talk big. Ive personally seen these amps at 1 ohm simply pop and solder the power to the negative i think they should be taken off the shelves
Soundstream never was really a bass contender but a SQ amplifier I wish I could get my hands on the last 4channel reference amps they released about 10 years ago those things were beautiful
I had the soundstream class A Continuum amp, when I used to be in competitions. That thing went from 25 watts to a thousand Watts. It was a beautiful amp!
Sweet another amp dyno channel. Please test any and everything that can get your hands on that amps up sound. From head units to home stereos, and anything between..
Lol yeah as if there isn't already enough amp dyno channels smfh. Jones really needs to step up his videos if he actually plans on surviving making these vids. This vid was very low b rated quality. C'mon its 2020. On top of that he's running welding cable for power & ground, yet he's using a $4000 plus amp dyno WTF!!!? Dude really needs to step it up! Yes, yes I know welding cable works... But why cheap out!? Not like quality OFC costs a fortune... Think maybe that welding cable could have played a small role into the amp popping at 1 ohm? We'll never know. BUT I WILL SAY it sure is odd that Big D was able to do a dyno test vid of this Soundstream 18k amp, he ran it at ohm & did more rms at 1 ohm than Jones did & Bid D did not pop his Soundstream 18k... Is it the welding cable, maybe other shortcuts that Jones took that may not have been as obvious on video, we may never know. I will say Williston Audio Labs is MUCH more professional & knowledgeable than the fly by night cat in this video. Lol everyone have a great day.
@@itdoesntmatterwhatyourname6128 it may not be on par with Williston audio Labs but it still provides information we can use when we're trying to find an amp Dyno that none of the bigger channels have Dyno yet. There used to be a time when TH-cam was a dating site and finding help video information like this was very scarce and extremely B rated quality. Also I only know of 2 other channels who primarily focus on amp dynos, beside the few manufactures who have done a few vids. Budget Gem, and Williston. SMD don't really do dynos even though he made the tool.
@@itdoesntmatterwhatyourname6128 Welding cable is superior to car audio cable in pretty much every aspect. It played zero role in the amp popping and use of welding cable was a performance move, and nothing to do with my budget. Stay tuned for more of my "cheap" videos or pack your ignorance somewhere else 👊
@@Facekicker I will never claim to know everything, only then does one cease gaining knowledge. So possibly I am lacking in my knowledge of welding cable. If so educate on my lack thereof. Imagine it this way. Dawn dish liquid is for washing dishes & greasy pots & pans. Do I doubt its ability to clean my body if I showered with it? Of course not. But that doesn't mean I use dish liquid to shower with due to it being more cost effective & possibly stronger on grease & dirt.? No, I still choose to use soap specifically made with the intended purpose of being used on human skin when showering. In the same way that welding cable's intended purpose is not for car audio. Will it work yes, does it perform in a superior manner when compared to a quality ofc copper power wire? Well, I would think not. That would be something you would have to prove to me. Then I would be stand up enough to admit I was wrong & had learned something new through being properly educated. Of course welding cable will be superior to a inferior power wire consisting of only 30% or less of true copper & using 70% or more of aluminum or whatever other fillers some manufacturers choose to use. BUT I can even name quality CCA power wires that have excellent performance ability & power transfer. So if a car audio company can make a mid tier CCA power wire that has achieved at powering a car audio build to a certified 180+ DB... Why not show some love by supporting that car audio business & running one of their power wires instead of welding cable? After all it is that type of mentality that keeps what we all love moving forward & progressing. Btw one of the companies I'm speaking of offers both CCA & OFC if one prefers one over the other. But for a person who has a passion for music & car audio doesn't using car audio power wire instead of welding cable just make sense? Idk, maybe I'm just missing something & if that's the case then its nobody's fault but my own. Though I was raised to & still believe in supporting locally owned independent business. Music & car audio being a long time passion of mine I try to support those working in the business who strive to keep it alive & moving forward! So far I'm not aware of any car audio companies making nor supplying welding cable for the use of power/ground wires. Though I haven't specifically looked neither. So Facekicker if you want to educate me on what you think I should know about welding cable, I'm all ears. I'll read whatever info you want to provide. I know everyone seems to have different preferences on many different subjects in car audio BUT preferences are not always facts. So if you want to take another moment of your time to bring me up to speed then I'll read any info you comment. Btw I didn't even bring up the usual difference in the strand size of car audio power wires when compared to the size of welding cable. Strand size can play a large role in the power flow & efficiency aswell. (Which I'm sure you already knew that) PS Facekicker I have seen this same model Soundstream amp tested on the dyno @1 ohm with no issues. It didn't fail.
power wire has 1 purpose supply power. if you honestly think welding cable manufacturers cheap out on there cables that are intended to supply equipment with brutal power requirements (basically holding a dead short constant while melting away a rod anywhere from 1/8" to 3/8"+ day in day out some places 24/7 for months on end your seriously mistaken its just not pretty with a different logo PRINTED on the side. lmao i wonder how much R&D money you think sky high spent "designing" the car audio only power wire? your probly buying left handed screwdrivers too
I always liked Soundstream not for Bass but SQ, My Ref amps are the best in my opinion for the type of music I listen to (Heavy Metal) Some of the higher end Soundstream stuff is really nice IMO
I have this amp now at a .5 ohm load and with box rise I haven't had any problems just make sure to upgrade electrical and batteries to feed it it takes power to make power I set my gain with the clip light on the amplifier and I am very happy with the amplifier
I decided too try my first full bridge, 4 months ago in one of my builds, Sundown SFB 8k, been going strong 💪 daily, and USACI comps, wired too 1.33 on 3 PSI 18’s, I did clamp, 6738, and was dropping too 13.8, now voltage is holding strong at 14.7, 75ah cmax.. Fans are loud though... Super interested in doing a couple big builds with your subs... putting in the research, but I’m moving back too Utah so I’m interested for sure, seem solid and good prices...
I love these tests! Thanks for the vid! Soundstream used to make amazing and reliable stuff. Now it seems like they just make amazing stuff. I had an old Rubicon that had unreal output despite being rated around 4x100. Had it down to 1 ohm for several years before it blew. Got one of their newer 5 channel amps and it sounded fine, but nothing like that old one and it blew up after a couple years running 2-4 ohms. Sucks that they don't have the reliability they once had.
Excellent video! I am so glad you described exactly what happened here with the one ohm resistive load versus a 1 ohm dynamic load like a real world subwoofer with real world impedance rise. This is something Big D needs to explain better (more often) in his tests. This is an incredible deal at $300 for over 6000 watts! For only $1200 you could have over 24000 watts rms! If you bought 4 of them. For the on sale price of a DC Pitbull 20k amp you could buy 9 of these amps and have 54,000 watts rms! And probably have money left over in case one or two of them pop! 😊
This is a badass amp for the money you will not find better at this price! This amp will absolutely slap! Two 15’s in a hatchback it will blow your back glass out no problem. The sound is crisp and clear. I know he was able to blow it but this amp has lasted 2 years on 1 ohm hooked up to 2 15in kicker comps with impedance no problem
NO.. its a 5500 watt RMS 1 ohm stable amp.. Thats an old school rating.. ... Wired at 1.. It will never see it. But it is safe to wire at 1 ohm all day...
@@whoman3466 So your definition of "old school" rating is lying about power output and shooting out flames at rated minimum load. I think you and I must have been using very different equipment back then.
@@hispls Incorrect. Even though they were more accurate on power.. No doubt.. But their ratings were based off wired loads. Not resistive loads... Measuring impedance rise wasn't a super common thing.. And virtually NOBODY outside of competition was .
@@hispls ohm will generally rise at best is 50 to 60% so 1.5 to 1.6 wired at 1 ohm. If you want to get technical. I've been going to competitions a long time and those some 1 ohm amps you could wired 1/2 ohm daily many you could not including name brands. And to see a true one ohm load you would have to be wired to point six to .67. And in some cases half ohm. Many of the old school amps would become incredibly hot running These ohms daily and shut off due to Thermal limitation. So often manufacturers would rate their amps on a 1 ohm resistive load because it's not a lie but the safe wiring rating would would be the wired ohm not the resistive ohm.
The dyno is a *non-reactive load. That said, it's definitely a brazilian clone amp and from a FAR better build house than the last few Rubicon generations. Total garbage those were. Absolutely the most attractive Tarantula amplifier ever released IMHO. Thanks for testing it!

I have two of these amps on two 18’s when soundstream said they made these amps so you won’t need a truck load of batteries they didn’t lie this amp doesn’t like being over 14.4 volts
These two amps replaced my two taramps md 8000.1 I had more problems out of the taramps and I still said I’m waiting for someone else to do a better dyno on this amp Because I have had these amps for three months running in a 1 ohm with no problems
@@nvx8k what problems were you having out of your Taramps md8000? (curious since I have a 1 ohm md8 amp) I'm shocked to hear that someone switched from 2 Taramps 8k amps to 2 of these Soundstream.... No way these Soundstream are putting out even close to the rms the Taramps do! And even those these Soundstream may not be as power hungry as some other Chinese I'll never believe that when wired at 1 ohm that these Soundstream are more efficient than the Brazilian Taramps. Even when a Taramps 8k putting out more rms than this Soundstream I still think the Taramps would draw less Amperage & be easier on the cars electrical system than these Soundstream "18000" *BTW I'm by no means a Soundstream hater. I know they make some decent products long as one knows which to buy & which to leave on the shelf. Too bad they aren't the same company they were a long time ago. Agreed as a member of team soundstream im here to say all numbers that epsilon rates there products at are rated according to specs and this being a fullbridge amp with high current low power design in mind honestly sits real happy at 14.2 volts and the packaging also clearly states that it can be drivin at 16 volts testing was done at 14.4 and it recomends not to exceed 15 volts because the current draw is much higher than that of a standard halfbridge esspecially with a resistive load speakers in enclosures change there own impeadance quite a bit you never wind up being at 1 ohm due to the box rise so case in point sir you have diligantly shown the world how to improperly utilize an amplifier dyno
@@matthewlewis7630 yeah and if you look on every single Dino he did certified uncertified and music simulation it's distorting the whole time the red light is blinking which means he's clipping the whole time he's testing from when he it's that button to start it till it finishes up that red light is blinking and blinking and blinking!!! Theses exrteem series amps are amazing. I say this with the caviot that I match my impedance to my speakers wattage necessity, so I can maxize the output of the speaker and don't abuse the amplifier with the hardest load. Also the sound quality of these amps is superb! And I mean full spectrum! So I'm running the the txp1.12000d @2ohm on 2 - L7 15 Qclass D2's. That call for 1200w rms... Each. There is no need to stress these amps down to a 1 ohm load. I'm getting 2830w (clamped) @40hz showing 13.9v, from an amp rated to produce 2300w @2ohm with14.4v. Think about that... All this chasing the lowest impedance of amp stuff... Unnecessary. Take it from a vet.
How is the sq at low frequencies and how much hissing do they make through the subs? I'm considering one but my subs are sitting in the back of my suv. I don't want any weird high frequency noises coming from the subs that I can hear. Some class d amps do it and it's normal because of their design.
@@Mr.NpK143 it's actually 👌 The rating of 1 ohm, is simply stating the amplifier "can" be wired that low. The manual offers wattge ratings for 4, 2 and 1 ohm loads respectively and like I told someone else it seems like there is more controlled or dare I say cleaner power at higher ohm loads, where it does not work the amplifier as hard to produce. More than six months and the only thing it's missing is... stay tuned to my page for a "1 year review" of both the Soundstream extreme 12k and the L7 Q Class 15's!
Definitely appreciate the dyno..so we know a 1ohm resistive load is a no no now lol...maybe it’s ok on a 1ohm reactive load “subwoofer” so I guess there’s still some hope for it..either way nice video brother!
Amp dyno runs certified to 1percent thd. This amp is rated at 3percent. So with rise wired at 1 ohm and 3percent thd I am positive it'll hit rated power at 1ohm. This is the bargain basement price for insane power. Even 2ohm hit rated at only 1percent...win! I'm going to pull the trigger on 2 of them. One each for my Sundown Zv5 18" D1's.
@@JasonWW2000 oooh, yes. You are correct. That will change the expectation of hitting actual power as advertised. Hmm, even more interesting is that they're claiming 1/3rd the THD than the amp dyno tests at yet the amp still won't make rated power. Good catch homie. I still feel these amps are great bang for the buck. :)
@@Bugglebub Yes, they just need to name it as a legit 6,000 watt amp. Using the 18,000 number just makes it seem cheap and unworthy. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

I had my t1 6000dl for 6 years at .5 ohms i finally smoked it but i rebuilt it with alittle bit of modifications and ramped it up to 6000 watts rms this was a certified run at .5 and it still runs to this day although it takes its toll on woofers gotta be some strong subs to take it now
I had an old school soundstream back in the day. It was hooked up to 3 15w6 JL Audios. They don't play. Did really good with them in the comps man. Thanks for sharing and you gained another sub here as well.
Love it!! At 2ohms it is a very good deal!!.. But on the other side at 1ohms its not so good. They might want to rerate this as a 2ohms amp instead of a 1ohms. Still louder than that other soundstream amp you tested the other day.
Just some constructive criticism. It's static load on the dyno not reactive. Reactive is on a sub. Also, you need to stop the track sooner. The amp popped because you ran it into the rails full clip at over 5,000 watts for almost five seconds. Five seconds full clip with that kind of power is of course going to overload the output section of the amp especially a cheaper amp. Other than that fantastic video keep em coming.
Can I blame the smoke and excitement? Resistive on the dyno, reactive on a sub - I got confused indeed. I don't think hitting pause sooner would have saved this amp though, the dyno had just barely locked the numbers down when it went, maybe 2 seconds later it popped. I see what you mean though.
I think he faked it blowing up. Freudian slip say its gonna blow at the beginning of the video then when it does blow he's missing the power clamp and there is NO smoke from the amp and the lights are still blue... 🤔
Best days of soundstream are long over i have an old soundstream reference 1000s and this deliver what soundstream says i think today is soundstream not more like rockville......
Pretty similar to my sundown full bridge 1500 I had. It didnt take high voltage well and burned it also didn't like 4v from my headunit either. Sucks cause that bad boy was pretty efficient and did alot of power ended up getting a soundigital 1600 evo . so far its lasted longer than the sundown .
6,241 watts dynamic for 289 on some sites is not bad at all. Probably would've survived a 1ohm reactive load. Not exactly what I run ,but impresive for the price.
OK I just bought one. I've asked questions about the amp on several threads and here on TH-cam, and never get replies. I have no doubt it will make power, but if it has crappy SQ....I will post back and let everyone know. It's great an amp can make a high power sine wave for SPL but some people also like to be able to run them SQ for daily and then bang when it's required. Will definitely update for anyone else besides me who cares about more than a burping amp.
It says 7000@1 ohm yes it falls a bit short but well over 6000 watt so that is certainly not bad for a 300$ amp and as far as im concerned a bench test on a dyno only gives a rough evaluation of it. Ive had one of these amps since they came out never ever once have i had any trouble with it. Im currently running 2 18 inch skar zvx d1v2 18s at 1ohm with zero issues. Got lucky today and bought a second one for a good price and now I'm searching for a set of 12s to run. BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOU HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT AMP BUT WASN'T SURE ITS A ABSOLUTE BEAST FOR THE PRICE!!! Hope this helps someone trying to reach a bassaholics goal😊
FYI a subwoofer will present a reactive load with impedance rise along with power compression. The amp dyno will present a purely resistive load. I think the author of this video is a bit backwards on that.
I would be curious to see a current Dyno of the new generation of Hifonics Amps after they decided to go with Peak power output Ratings instead of RMS ratings on thier Manuals, Boxes and documentation. This would be the generation after the BRZ Brutus series. Word has it that they decided to go with Peak power rating after several failed accurate RMS attempts on the AD-1 Dyno.
@@Facekicker I appreciate it. Just so you know, am retired Purchasing Manager for a Electronics Manufacture, so I know how the system works. This information is not solely based on my experience but insider information as well. It pains me to see the decline of the great company Hifonics used to be to what it is now....
If sound stream did a better job at rating and testing their products they would be the best budget company on the market. Most of the time the (actual) watt per dollar on their amps is an absolute steal.
Definitely no reason to pad the specs on these amps, insane power for the dollar. Poor taramps is just starting to make theirs last a while and soundstream got tired of waiting and said let's do this. Pretty much any amp company could have been making the "full bridge" design for years, it's not classified or new technology.
Is it possible that the high voltage contributed? Do you suppose that if you'd run it at 14.4 or 13.8 it would have blown up? The HV input may have caused saturation?
Voltage wasn't a factor. Mfgr rates them for 16v operation. They can't handle extended clipping at rated impedance on the bench - it's inherent in every Chinese SD clone board. Same as Wolfram O Series and Sundown SFB. They need to see rise.
@@lol-ld3jh I would be hesitant to wire under 1 ohm no matter the rise, and don't think I'd do it at all personally unless I know I'm gonna rise past 2 ohms. I'd say rising to only 1.3ohms would be playing with fire, literally. And as mentioned before this would apply to any of the Chinese SD clones, not just the Soundstream. Taramps Smart5k or Smart5BASS would be a much safer and more reliable amp with low rise in this case, in my opinion, and will match or beat the clamped power of the Soundstream.

Mine are also in a Huge Vented Virtual technologies "VT" box. It's big as well I wanna say something like 5 cubes give or take and hers in almost the same size around 5 cubes. But God those enclosures make a world of difference I used to use the QBomb ect big vented boxes but these old school vt box's are so far ahead of their time they put the new boxes to shame.
The no clip light on knob is pretty slack, as far as I'm concerned all amps should have a clip light on the bass knob. The first amp I bought with one made me never want to go back. It really makes you realize how often you're actually clipping. At least this one has one on the amp. But I suppose if you have a steady hand you could solder wires onto the board where the clip led is mounted. I'd like to try a couple of these instead of my cab45, but a 2nd cab45 would be a smarter idea...lol
I have 2 of these on 8 evl 12s no issues they are a little power hungry...scratch that both amps burned out in 2 days after they went on the 12s they worked good on 6 ,8was too much
@@1ohmwrecker my Smart3 is still going strong! Doing so well that I actually have 2 other brand new amps still in their original packages that I haven't bothered to even test out yet. One is a Korea amp: Trauma Concussion 3500 watt amp. Second is my latest amp I bought, Taramps md8000.1 I can't even imagine how much of a beast my 8k Taramps will be, this dang 3k Smart3 already pushes the subwoofer pretty good! I will admit I am kind of anxious to use my Taramps 8k though! I don't care what Taramps haters wanna s say. After using the Smart3 for a while now I know for a fact they make power! Plus they aren't power hungry & hard on the electrical like Chinese amps are. Even at night with my headlights on I get very little voltage drop at full tilt with my Taramps Smart3. During the day I get zero Voltage drop at full tilt, unless I'm sitting in my driveway or parked idling in a parking lot for several minutes but even stopped at red lights at full tilt playing heavy rebassed rap I get no voltage drop. I was completely shocked at the power efficiency of Brazilian amps when I first installed my Smart3!

Again im stating that a 1 ohm "resistive" load is worlds apart from a 1 ohm "dynamic" load speakers change there impeadance because of whats known as box rise and this means in a real world "music" environment you never see 1 ohm its always higher so a resistive load stalls at 1 ohm and doesn't budge i dont know of a single amp on the market that can handle much time with a 1 ohm resistive load
Hi I bought the TPX6000 and now it's showing the clip signal even after disconnecting the all the signal cables including the speaker cable and it's still showing the clip signal. What might be the issue??
I've seen a fairly high amount of people with failures, but a good amount of people with no issues. In my eyes it's a gamble, but depending on application it could be a good deal.
Do you recommend a power supply for bench testing amplifiers without using any car batteries? I'm looking for a power supply that I can plug into 120 volts and run an amplifier in the home.
A good power supply like the Taramps Procharger series will do standalone operation without a battery, but on 120v you'd be looking at 1000w of support max without adding battery or running multiple supplies. Each power supply would need its own 20a breaker as well. I am a Taramps dealer and if you'd like pricing or other info, you are welcome to message me through YT, or the Jones Subwoofer Solutions page on FB, Instagram, or the web.
Dude, this is awesome! Thanks!
You just "Gained" a "Sub" 😂

Wasn't a thing cheap about sound stream in the nineties!

20 years ago it woulda burnt the car down these things are for small setups to talk big. Ive personally seen these amps at 1 ohm simply pop and solder the power to the negative i think they should be taken off the shelves
Soundstream is a beast!.. This amp is a beast. 300 bucks and kicks out that kinda power? really...
300 bucks and that kind of power ..its a beast.

(Which I'm sure you already knew that)
PS Facekicker I have seen this same model Soundstream amp tested on the dyno @1 ohm with no issues.

Big D ain't burning up amps to need to explain that, cuz thats why he explained it cuz it happened.
big d has.. just not every time...
He burned up a Hifonics in one video, tried to run at half ohm and toasted it. Look it up.
This is a badass amp for the money you will not find better at this price! This amp will absolutely slap! Two 15’s in a hatchback it will blow your back glass out no problem. If they just called this a 3600W 2 ohm stable amp it would be fine at the 300$ price tag. Why lie, Soundstream?
NO.. its a 5500 watt RMS 1 ohm stable amp.. Thats an old school rating.. ... Wired at 1.. It will never see it. But it is safe to wire at 1 ohm all day...

@@hispls Incorrect. Even though they were more accurate on power.. No doubt.. But their ratings were based off wired loads. Not resistive loads... Measuring impedance rise wasn't a super common thing.. And virtually NOBODY outside of competition was .
@@whoman3466
So if you are an amp company, how do you rate your amps while figuring in "rise"?

@@drjd2real Perhaps the manufacturer should use a pair of 1/0 inputs and outputs.
That amp is a Beast. I heard it on two Rockville destroyer 15s at 1 ohm. The dude's car sounded wicked with the Bass
Just found your channel! I must say.. the unibomber on a zig zag pack is a bold design choice, sir.
I appreciate that.
Actual did better than I thought it would
It says 7000@1 ohm yes it falls a bit short but well over 6000 watt so that is certainly not bad for a 300$ amp and as far as im concerned a bench test on a dyno only gives a rough evaluation of it.
I think the author has corrected himself in the comments many times 😉
You were hard as hell on that amp
Damn dude I had my fingers crossed on the 1 ohm cert.
@11:28 The dyno is actually a resistive load, not a reactive load like a subwoofer.
I blame the amp smoke for the confusion

I would be curious to see a current Dyno of the new generation of Hifonics Amps after they decided to go with Peak power output Ratings instead of RMS ratings on thier Manuals, Boxes and documentation. This would be the generation after the BRZ Brutus series. Word has it that they decided to go with Peak power rating after several failed accurate RMS attempts on the AD-1 Dyno.
I'll check em out
@@Facekicker I appreciate it.
Not bad for this new amps now in days....too many DNT tell the true..a good amp is pretty expensive ,🤯😜
Is it possible that the high voltage contributed? Do you suppose that if you'd run it at 14.4 or 13.8 it would have blown up? The HV input may have caused saturation?
Someone who is I terestwd in this 8snt going to be running a 16v CMAX bank
Voltage wasn't a factor.
Mfgr rates them for 16v operation.
They can't handle extended clipping at rated impedance on the bench - it's inherent in every Chinese SD clone board. Same as Wolfram O Series and Sundown SFB. They need to see rise.
@@Facekicker so with box rise 1.3 ohm it should run fine? Real world situation

When you went into dynamic at 2ohm it went from 0 to 5000 watts it didn't count up clean. I'm under the impression that it has to count up clean on the dyno in order to concider it a correct reading. I'm I wrong about that because it a dynamic run. I don't think I am I think it still has to count up clean even with a dynamic burst but you tell me. Dynamic is a burst track and everything worked as one should expect it to. No difference in any other amp doing dynamic runs.
Nice job

Thats because big d knows what he is doing with his dyno alot of pricipals here that are overlooked that caused this failure pure operator error
Or, the failure point of the amp was demonstrated, rather than playing it safe.
I don't see anything wrong with that type of transparency.

Can you dyno old school EARTHQUAKE PHD10000DW/2
Yeah, I'd like to see that too. I had one I just sold and never even ran it in my vehicle. Has way more transistors than this soundstream, but obviously won't make numbers as high. Awesome test thanks for the dyno and showing us what we get if we bought this and how cheaply it's made.
It's a very tiny amp, much smaller than the ones companies charge 2 to 3x more for. For something that could feed four huge subs a clean 1000wrms each, I'm not sure where the hate comes from. I mean, look at the cost per watt... I'm about to run three 12s that are rated at 600wrms, because I prefer overkill and low distortion. I've been running the amp a few months now, but only on two IDQ8s, just to have something.
Not too be an ass but it looked like you let it run a bit long on the 1 ohm certified, you wanted to kill the amp haha , still makes good power at 2 ohms for the price
It's been commented on already but yeah I let it eat 🤷
I'll be ready to smack pause when doing future 1 ohm cert runs on full bridge amps.
It seams to me that there trashing other companies, he had ever intentions on blowing that amp, all others that tests amps never make comments like that, still good power from that amp as well as the Soundstream 6000d he trashed on.
I buy these amps with my own money, trust me I don't want to blow anything on my bench.
Imma say it now before I even watch the video.... Now way in absolute hell that puts out that much power for the price tag.... Now sound stream used to be big name equipment.. now days they lost their touch n way... The subs are still decent but the amps....... Nah... It's why I use Sundowns amps and subs anymore.. I haven't had any issues from my salt 8 in my truck and my fiancee she has the salt 4 in her car.. I'm pushing two sundown X 12s and she is pushing the legendary sundown nightshade 15" and it sounds amazing she has hers in a single massive vented virtual technologies " VT box" I forget how big that damn thing is but it's huge we had to remove the back seat of our 2010 VW CC 2.0 TSI Turbo Sport to get that box to go in because it would not fit through the trunk opening...
I like your logo..He showed how weak and powerless the freemasons really are..
I was really hoping it would do the 7k it's rated for I've seen a few of the soundstream amps go up in smoke .
Soundstream and quality should never be in the same sentence. If u want budget go wit skar.

I will admit I am kind of anxious to use my Taramps 8k though!
I don't care what Taramps haters wanna s say. After using the Smart3 for a while now I know for a fact they make power! Plus they aren't power hungry & hard on the electrical like Chinese amps are. During the day I get zero Voltage drop at full tilt, unless I'm sitting in my driveway or parked idling in a parking lot for several minutes but even stopped at red lights at full tilt playing heavy rebassed rap I get no voltage drop. @@matthewlewis7630 and at 2 different ohm loads, which is awesome.
Wow. Didn't think it would put out the power it did. Definitely not 1 ohm stable. Run it at 2 ohms and you'll have a good amp.

Faulty amp is likely, these apparently have a weak QA/QC process.
Let's be honest here. Even running at half power it's still worth it
I've seen a fairly high amount of people with failures, but a good amount of people with no issues. In my eyes it's a gamble, but depending on application it could be a good deal.
For something like this amp what size fuse should someone run to avoid the amplifier blowing up at 1ohm?
~300a is the biggest you should run on a single 1/0 run
Why you didnt stop the dyno seeing that the amp was distorting? Nice video btw 👍 thanks!
Other than the false advertising It makes good numbers why can’t they just get rid of the 18,000 it will still sell like hotcakes
