  • Aly Art is one of my faves here on TH-cam. She made a video for #flamboyantgamine #makeup, and I'm here to try it out. #Kibbe FG's are all so different and interesting in the face, so we'll see if her tips work for me.

I'm so glad I'm not the only FG with 2 different eye shapes on my already asymmetrical
    face haha

I definitely liked the last look! It opened your eyes more! I’m a Soft Gamine.

Thank you!! I love the idea of filling my waterline now. It adds a subtle intensity that I enjoy.

It seems like MOST flamboyant gamines have very large eyes and medium to full lips. I am more like you with naturally more almond shaped eyes and much fuller lips. For me I think opening up the eyes without feeling too theatrical is best for daytime look. I normally don’t wear makeup on a regular basis, so when I try stuff like this it feels like a lot. But I have always felt the main makeup my faces needs is mascara. It just makes me look awake. But maybe choosing the right colors is helpful too. I liked look 1 and 3 best on you!

Aly nailed it, her gamine techniques ALL look great on you! The deep red lip look seems good for a more costumed or gala look. The first look is great for every day, with more make up if you want to project a more professional or “adult” look, as in look 3. The lipstick color, the lighter one, is great on you. Thank you for sharing!

For the crease shadow for the second look, you would have needed a smaller blending brush for more precision. Also because you did your liner with a shadow, the blending brush you used muddied the crease and the liner color together. This can be fixed by doing the crease first and then liner or by using a gel or liquid eyeliner which is more smudge resistant. Hope this helps :)

I was going to comment the same thing. The right tools make a huge difference.

I think even the last look is quite tame/daytime on you; you could actually add a lot more detail and intensity and not look overpowered by it.

I discover your channel whilst looking at some Aly art’s video. I try this makeup on my sister because she’s FG and I wanna try it on my mom too even though they have very different features. It looked really great on my sister as it looks great on you too.
I also try her classic type makeup on me and I liked it a lot.
About the crease portion, I think that you started with a too fluffy brush so it put eyeshadow all over your lid and then that’s why you didn’t have that clear space between the eyeliner and the crease. If you want to try it again I would start with a dense brush maybe slightly on the smaller size, it will give you more control on the shape of the crease. And maybe blend it a little bit so it’s not as sharp afterwards.

Ooo yay! Glad to hear that! You're so right about the brush. I've tried this look a few more times using a smaller brush and it turned out much better!

Number 1 for sure. Maybe it's just my face and not a FG thing, but I feel like too much makeup makes me feel like I'm a kid who got into my mom's stuff. Even if I get it professionally done, it's rare that it suits me.
I prefer a bit of concealer, mascara, and some lip stain and then I'm good to go!

it's so important to see the makeup look on the intended body type. I wasn't going to try aly's style because it seemed off on her soft gamine face. Love your content, wish you'd do a video about your daily makeup and what you're adding to it since watching her video!

    • @franibeard

Definitely! Thought it would be important to test it out and see. Thanks for the suggestion!

It's a bit hard for me to see what Aly Art is doing in her videos (though her explanations are wonderful), so this video was helpful. Although this was not really a main point, I was able to learn how to do a cat eye through this video. I can't say my eyes are hooded because I've got a lot of eyelid visible when my eyes are open, but perhaps they would be called "droopy". I normally draw my flick downwards because it's easiest to just not fight it, but I really like how the upward flick looks!

@@franibeard Mmmm...maybe a bit. They were thick as a child, and I never thought plucking like crazy would hinder them coming back. It's possible some of the thinness is from age and having 3 babies. Hormones...

@@heidiwahlquist6030 So interesting how things change over time. I've noticed mine starting to thin a bit, but brow products make it less obvious.
