  • What happens when a #flamboyantgamine wears #softclassic, #classic, or #dramaticclassic lines? I'm putting it to the test in this video. These lines may be the most disharmonious for my body.
    In essence, classics are sophisticated, proportionate, and elegant to say the least, but as a #kibbe Flamboyant Gamine, I know what I'm drawn to in fashion is more quirky and unconventional. I can't wait to hear what you guys think about this one.

    Every time I take the Kibbe test, it says I’m a Dramatic Classic, but I look more like you and like certain Flamboyant Gamine celebrities, and I’ve had the experience you’re describing here in these kind of clothes that I love on the rack and on other people... Time to experiment with Flamboyant Gamine clothes!

    You've helped me SO MUCH. I had always doubt if I am a Dramatic Classic or a Flamboyant Gamine, and altrough every time I do the test I get a Dramatic Classic type, I wasn't sure until I watched this video. Because I see you and I think "yes, I do look like her!" But after you have tried my kind of signature outfits and didn't feel like yourself in them I can really understand the differences. Thabk you for your kindness and your approach.

    I'm not sure what I am, but I strongly lean towards soft classic and when I saw you in that dress, I immediatly thought to myself "I think I would look amazing in that!" Which is interesting because I NEVER wear dresses, so I wouldn't have the dress experience to know that.

      i have almost exactly that dress, and I LOVE IT and i always get comliments when i wear it - therefore it was quite funny for me when i watched this as i have been getting more and more sure that im soft classic (even thou i ruled out classics first thing when i learned about kibbe, as i see my face as being as far away from classic as almost possible)

    I love that you also note how the shoulders of FG do in a way need to be accommodated; I always was told I MUST be a natural type
    I'm also in the higher range of normal weight atm so my upper arms are gaining thickness and I absolutely struggle fitting them in clothes, which - for FG at higher weights - is even by the book. I kept wndering if I need width accommodation, but honestly N styles don't look good on me. I do think I'm FG and I really love this was included. Your videos are super helpful and interesting and I adore your vibe =D
    Also, I viscerally felt when you wore SC lines how you both looked ominously young and it was too big on you while too round at the same time. I think it can be a deliberate look with some combat boots and interesting accessories though, even the little prairie dress :) Thanks for the video!!

    Classic definitely doesn’t do you justice. And soft classic borders on dowdy for you. The thing that made me smile the most… You look like a refugee from Disney World with Mickey Mouse ears while you tried on classic clothing! Definitely not a classic hairstyle! Much too playful and fun!

    Girl. I totally get you about school uniforms. I think I’m an R and I also had to wear a school uniform in middle and high school and can I tell you-it really messed with my body image and self esteem! The stiff bulky fabric made me look so stocky.

    As a soft classic, I like turtlenecks like the one you tried on. The more luxurious the fabric the better. My favorite turtleneck is a black cashmere one with side vents. I think the one you are wearing on your couch wouldn’t work well for a classic because of the ribbing. Something about ribbed knits always make me feel a bit messy, unless it is a dark color and super fine knit merino for example. But, I still think smooth texture is better.
    There was a blue skirt that you tried on in the romantic video that I would totally rock as a soft classic. The lines were very simple but the fabric is light and flowy.

    Thanks so much for this video! Now I know why some of the things in my wardrobe just don't look right on me. I look dull. And yea me too I haven't been able to wear regular button down shirts. I look boxy, fat and like a brick house instead of effortlessly cool. I find shirts with darts that make it fit my body better generally work on me, or ones with interesting detail. Love your style, personality and content Frani!

    I was typed as DC at first and I tried the DC lines. People told me that they look good on me, but I personally always felt too stiff and too formal in them. I felt overdressed every single time. I have always been naturally drawn to flamboyant gamine lines (colorblocking, high collars boxy dresses, sharp corners). For a long time I thought I was a dramatic classic but I always felt that there was something wrong. I felt trapped. Finally I tried some flamboyant gamine lines in my colouring which is Light Summer and they looked great. I think where the confusion came from was that I have this very light coloring and I looked good in those beige, muted, neutral colors (a bit light academia). But I can also pull off patterns very well unless they are in very strong colors. I need like pastel, low contrast colors that don't wash me out. When I try to do a comparison of dramatic classic and flamboyant gamine lines some people told me I look old in dramatic classic lines and that's exactly how I felt. I felt like a businesswoman going to a meeting. 😂 I still think I have a strong classic essence, tho, that's why I could pull off some of the classic lines well. Now that I've found FG lines are for me I feel so at peace with myself.
    All the things you did in this video to correct an outfit to make it look better is what I did intuitively when trying DC lines. I really don't like how blouses look on me untucked - very unstructured

    For the longest time, I thought I typed as Soft Classic because I don't really have an accurate view of my own body. And I couldn't figure out why the crisp button-up shits made me look like a line backer, or why all those pretty fit and flare dresses made me look like a misshaped cupcake. I finally got my mom to help me with the answers and low and behold, I'm a Soft Gamine. Which makes so much sense! Everything I look good in fits those lines!
    Point is, the second I saw you in that crisp button-up, I was like "Girl, I feel you!" I've found the that only button-ups I can pull off are silk ones, and they usually have a small, fun print going on with them so they aren't too symmetrical.

    The first white shirt looked kind of wrinkled and bunchy down the front, I think it would be hard for anyone to make that one work! I'm enjoying this series, great idea! 😁

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good point! I think that shirt may have just been too stiff to work properly, or maybe the jeans weren't fitted enough around my waist. Still experimenting with button downs, for sure.

  • @meowmeow-ep8wm
    @meowmeow-ep8wm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I think a problem with some of the close is that they don’t fit you well, because of the size or to much or to less fabric in different places. For example the white turtle neck made a weird fold across your collarbones and in contrast the black turtle neck you are wearing fits you well, so it’s not basic turtle necks that don’t fit you because they are classic. I think the video would be more interesting if you wear better fitting close, so the viewers can concentrate more in the fact that the lines and the style of the clothes don’t look good on you.
    And in the beginning you talk about that you want to wear bottom down shirt and you don’t know who. Maybe you should try a sleeveless bottom down blouses and close all the buttons to your neck. And maybe in a fabric with some interesting colours and matters :)

    This is totally random, but looking at you at the beginning of the video I noticed how your shoulders have such a beautiful, tapered quality to them! When I watched you do the quiz, you mentioned how bony your shoulders are, and because of the way the quizzes are worded, I saw them as straighter than they are! So interesting.
    P.S. have you joined the Strictly Kibbe group on Facebook? It's such a great resource! Totally reframing the way I see my body.

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! I have pretty sharp shoulders, but if i'm overthinking it I'll push them back and down to create a slope. Once I stop thinking about it they're right back in a straight line. haha!

    I actually like the mint green dress on your frame and it looks (at least in that lighting) very nice with your own colouring. The V neck is also flattering on you. But, having watched some of your videos, I see how it clashes mostly with your essence (in my opinion) rather than with your body. It definitely makes you look more ingenue than gamine.

    do you think a very tiny DC (been typed DC) could get inspiration from your FG style (which is rather neutral and doesn't have much pattern) ? Maybe to get some animation going on.. are these two types close in your opinion ? for someone who's small ?

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is an interesting question! I would love to explore this more. For now, I think any type can find inspiration from another type’s energy. So long as you honor the lines of your own body.

  • @anne-marie8018
    @anne-marie8018 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Almost everything was too big to look good on anyone. Classic is fitted or tailored. It's not skin tight, but it is also not big at all. You should be able to see your body's shapes. Probably not more than an extra inch outside of skin tight. Naturals can carry extra fabric, but this would have been too much even for them. I know they didn't have your size, but that doesn't have anything to do with wearing the lines. I would say that classic fit is the most precise of all the types because it can't pull or strain, but also sits close to the body everywhere. I am a dramatic classic and I look sloppy, not classic, if anything is half a size too big. Or it looks like I'm wearing someone else's clothes.
    Anyway, I think you are adorable and love all your videos. I'm just offering my perspective and experience.

  • @jewelryboxballerina
    @jewelryboxballerina 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Actually you don’t look bad in the first outfit. You don’t look like a little boy. 🤣 You can wear that outfit. The issue is the size of the shirt. You need a smaller size with a tailored look, XXS/00 (j. crew and j.crew factory has some nice ones). The shoes would work too, also some casual sneakers. Sneakers are a FG’s BFF. Also, if you don’t want to wear sneakers all of the time, try some ballet flats with an ankle strap (in black), and oxfords, esp ones with a slightly thick sole. These work well for FGs . I have a pair of the ankle strap ballet flats with a pointed toe. They give off a clean, crisp look which is what us FGs need.
    Do you have a Pinterest page? Maybe we can help each other out! 😊

    So weird. This definitely convinced me I’m a dramatic classic. It would maybe even be more classic if you didn’t tuck the shirt in or roll up the sleeves. I wear button downs and mid rise skinny jeans most every day without really doing anything and this works well. I’d also say scoop neck for that next outfit. Not plunging or high.

    Classic lines does not work on you so just too simple, your lines fabulous

  • @antoinette4995
    @antoinette4995 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Please stop confusing body type with style type. I'm a FG body type with classic/ethereal essence. I have Scorpio Rising with 5 Capricorn placements and heavy 12th house energy. I can ofc pull off gamine styles but the playful gamine look simply cannot be my everyday style AT ALL. It's just not believable or comfortable regardless of my FG body. My face, demeanor, and movements literally ooze classic and ethereal. Most of my clothes are either classic, romantic, or dramatic (my Scorpio Asc. pulls of dramatic amazingly well).
    In your video the issue is not that you're trying to wear classic, it's that you have no idea how to style yourself in classic. For one, you already noted your hair was NOT classic. Then your choice of clothes smh. For example, a big oversized white top with fitted black pants? No. Better to have a top that fits nicely/neatly and pants with a different leg cut. Also, tops should be darker than the bottom. Think grey or brown pants and navy blue or black top. FG have lots of juxtaposition so this must be accounted for when styling as a FG.

  • @pamkauer4766
