As someone who makes silent films of my adventuers I've only just discovered you, thank you so much for taking us on this journey with you and sharing your insights. The "Why do I like the things I like?" monologue is one I've had with myself after every multi-day wild camp hiking with 16kg on my back, but I wouldn't have it any other way. You're a beautiful badass, please continue to have and film these epic adventures!

I've accepted that I do things for the story you earn by completing it, battle scars, near death experiences and all. Nothing is more satisfying than testing and exceeding your percieved limits. And on your 'being present' monologue, I purposefully don't listen to anything to force myself to be mindful and experience my emotions. When you've hiked 30km on your (birthday) second day of three with no signal and just your thoughts, you get to know yourself very well haha

This was the first time I think I’ve ever turned on a TH-cam video and didn’t for a second think WOAH A SOLO FEMALE ADVENTURIST IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY!!! I never thought I'd be the guy that writes a long, personal, sentimental comment under a random youtube video, but here we are.
After I visited Iceland in march of last year, I said something to the effect of "Iceland is definitely the most unbelievable chunk of land on the entire earth, but I could never live here." It's too cold, the skies are always grey, it's cut off from the rest of the world, and god, do I hate the wind. There's no way I could ever wake up every morning for years and years and think, "I'm happy I woke up in Iceland, again."
After having been removed from Iceland for a little more than a year now, and having watched this video, I think back on that sentiment and laugh at how ridiculous it is. I miss Iceland every day. I've avoided watching videos on Iceland since my visit because I wanted my experience there to remain special and unique to me. When this video popped up, I hesitated, but clicked anyway. I reasoned that this video is different because you experienced Iceland in a completely different way than me.
I went near the end of spring, when the snow had halfway melted and the lambs were still cuddled up in their heated barns. There was still plenty of greenery, but the snow gifted the landscape an otherworldly feeling. Watching this video showed me a totally different Iceland. The fog and rain and wind were all still there, but the colors were more vibrant, and the world felt more alive. Being able to recognize some of the places I saw and seeing them for how they look without a pile of snow was surreal.
About halfway through, you went to a lake, with a white fence near the water and a house on a hill above. I might've stood in the exact same spot as you, but my view was a little different(a lot different). The lake was frozen over and a fresh layer of snow sat on top of the ice. If not for the road behind and the mountains in the back, I might've gotten lost in all the whiteness. But in your video, it's completely unrecognizable, if not for the house and fence.
I don't think it was any more or less beautiful than when I went, but it was definitely a different brand of beauty. Snow can make an unassuming landscape look dreamy, and what it does to Iceland's landscape can hardly be described. But here, the skies are blue and the hills are green. There are sheep grazing the plains, and the water is not only unfrozen, but a spectacular shade. In the summer, it genuinely looks like a perfect painting. I realize now because of this video that I want to be in Iceland when the sheep roam.
I definitely cried a couple times while watching. I just want to go back so bad. I almost want to train every day so I can bike it like you did, just to get to experience it in a different way. Which, by the way, it's nothing short of incredible what you did with this video. Biking like 100 km every day and sleeping in impossible conditions for three weeks is complete insanity, and you did it. And you filmed it, and made an incredible documentary out of it. Huge props and congratulations.
This video seriously moved me, so I just wanted to say thanks. I fell in love with Iceland again.

My favourite part from the video: "Being present.
Its rare to be fully fully present in day to day life and even out here.
Even if I am not distracted by my phone, book, music or podcast, I am internally distracted.
I am always planning out the future,
    stressing or anticipating.
Or I am thinking about the past,
    regretting or reminiscing.
I am never in the right now.
    Its an ichy habit.
    I came to Iceland.
I expect to be mesmerised by the country you are in, the culture and everything.
But that does not come for free.
If that is the habit when you are at home, its the habit you are going to have in Iceland or wherever you are.
If I dont know how to check in with myself at home or remind myself of whats going around me and whats going on in my body, and in this actual moment, I am not going to be able to do that in another country.
Since I have come here, I m fighting two separate battles.
One is the physical battle, cycling everyday. Its physically the hardest thing I have ever done.
But the other is mental. Its fighting the battle to be present and undistracted.
I came here to feel my feelings.
I came here to feel the physical pain in my body and the physical release and the bliss that comes after the pain.
And I came here to fully immerse myself in what I am doing.
This was always intended to be an emotional journey as much as it was a physical journey."
As a viewer its helps to know what the journey and the exploration means to one and how it changes one in the process. It helped me relate and understand similar things I experienced on my trek to Indian Himalayas.
    Much power to you ❤

I have watched your video entirely and enjoyed your calm, slightly ironic and very wise words. I will remember these especially: If you can't find peace with yourself at home, you'll never find them anywhere. Travelling is not going to heal your lack of presence in the right now. I have experienced this on several trips, probably living more in the moment is the most difficult task for me in life.

Great job! Awesome video! I was in Iceland in late July 2023 hiking the Laugavegur Trail and the Fimmvorduhals Trail extension. I recognized the Skogafoss waterfall near Skogar and the campground in Reykjavik in your video. I also got to see the volcano eruption when I was there. I really enjoyed Iceland and would like to go back. If you ever go back, I highly recommend hiking the 34 mile (55 km) Laugavegur Trail and the 15 mile (24 km) Fimmvorduhals Trail extension. I think you would enjoy it and crush it too like you did biking the Ring Road. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure on TH-cam!

Just finished the video. Jenna I am amazed. The whole video was excellent. You are so strong and put together, I'd be all over the place. I'm proud you did it! Iceland looks breathtaking; I didn't know there were so many waterfalls. I don't know how you could cycle so many hours a day; I get tired just cycling to the shops! But I feel better when I do; like I'm taking care of my health a bit. Have you experienced any physical changes since you started this journey and cycling in general? Thanks for sharing with us. ❤❤🎉

Thankyou so much for the kind words ♥️ and yes the scenery was unlike anything I’d ever seen! And of course I had to do a bit of training to be able to cycle for such long hours but I found that I got used to it as I went on! It was definitely a mental challenge to keep pushing.
And yes There were some physical changes I could see in my physique when I returned home but those all evened out when I went back to my “normal” routines haha nice while it lasted though. Enjoy your rides! Thankyou so much for watching all the way to the end it means a lot to me ♥️

Great video. Thanks for letting me see what it would be like. In 2003 I rode from my home in NJ to Nova Scotia - Newfoundland to St. Anthony and on to Labrador. I planned to do this exact ride in 2006 but marriage happened and this is the only way I will experience it. Some stuff is similar to above. Lots of wind. Lots of rain. Lots of insects. You look to have had more traffic. Again, many thanks.

Congratulations on this big adventure, journey and accomplisment and thank you for sharing it with us. I really resonate with the part about the two struggles - the physical one and the mental one. I felt the same while walking Camino de Santiago. Even though I am not a sporty person, my body behaved surprisingly well. It was the mind that insisted on not being there, in the moment, especially in the beginning. We are big headed creatures... But these experiences are enriching and sometimes we do get to us and toi the here and now. A hug there

We cycled in May, split the segments into manageable pieces with hotels as an occasional treat. I feel I've done Greenland on bike no need to repeat. The wind and elements can re as lly being you down to earth. Having others around really helped my attitude and remain flexible as my tendency is to muscle through even if I am miserable. 😅

I thoroughly enjoyed watching your journey. I've started biking the last couple of years and am recently super into bike packing. I'm inspired by your courage in going to another country and doing this on your own! On a side note: I've never heard anyone express themselves so similarly to me. Even the way you deal with and accept emotions (but as you said, "there's a time and a place") is so much like me - it was kinda surreal but it further boosted my desire to get out there and do these things because I kinda felt like having heard "myself" in you, I almost know how I'll react? Ha! (If that makes sense.)

Yet in your beautiful film there's so much of the unknown for me. And I doubt that I will ever be able to go so far, but you show me the direction and the ultimate goal, I guess. I even got some practical tips from the video. Thank your so much for this expirience!

Amazing trip Jenna. Love that long long downhill stretch. I encountered a similar long downhill 10 years ago riding LEJOG in Scotland, 7 or 8 miles of downhill bliss, and then realized I'd made a wrong turn. Rather than turn around, I took a different route forward through the mountains to Glasgow. Turned out to be very interesting route, but, oddly enough, I've never been able to find it marked on a map. Keep on trucking.
