Such a magical part of the world you live in, so envious. Bike riding in a nutshell: You have no traffic jams, no parking problems, and can stop anywhere on a whim. You have a plan to get from A to B, but it's all under your own steam, a sense of accomplishment, a natural high. There will be adventures/setbacks along the journey, but that is what you will remember the most. Half the fun is getting there. Oh! and the benefits of very low carbon footprint and improved health Keep doing it girl🚴
This was a great video. It's nice seeing these adventures near Calgary. I hope you can do a "how to start bike packing" video soon for those of us newbies who want to get started. I might do a day trip bike around these roads this summer. Glad the algorithm recommended your videos.
I’d recommend talking to one of our local bike shops, Bike Bike up on Edmonton Trail would be my recommendation since they focus on utility bikes and touring. They’ll have some good advice, as well as good routes to try. As long as you have a bike, tent and sleeping bag, you can get started touring! Used panniers sometimes come up for sale online. MEC makes a good backpacking tent. Lots of people overthink the gear, when the best way to figure out what works is to load up and start riding. Once you’re out there, you’ll have a great time.
I love your positive mentality. I have a similar inner dialogue when going through tough times. It was so comforting to hear the way you manage obstacles and keep yourself sane and grounded. Way to make the safer decision at the river. I'm studying to become an herbalist, and I recommend picking and eating some dandelion leaves for extra nutrients and a fresh salad! ❤
Omg so glad I came across your content! Very entertaining and beautiful beautiful scenery. You have guts going solo. I bet it feels extremely rewarding when you reach your destinations. Very motivational! 😊😊
Totally joined you for the entire journey. Thank-you for documenting this in your own ways and sharing with the world. Love your aura Jenna! Glad to have come across this. Sending love and respect your way.
Great video. Your positive attitude is amazing. Great sites and you do live in a beautiful part of the world!! Really love watching all of your videos!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
that is absolutely excellent. what an amazing route and landscape. well done for documenting your travels. I love the word 'thunk'. It's awesome. love and good fortune Jenna A. (Mangala sutta) 😎😊❤ p.s. that was certainly an east end of London market traders accent. Or maybe Fagin from Oliver Twist. Certainly one of the two.
my goodness that is gorgeous .. so so good to see you doing so well Jenna! always a warm comfy feeling coming back to your channel and seeing what you’re up to 🥹
You're so real lmao if I do long trips I always remind myself that working hard is the only way I'll be able to make it back to my car. Otherwise, when I'm home I don't feel like doing anything that might be challenging. Hurrah for trapping ourselves in unavoidable situations!
Do you know what I love besides me living where you live, you never take off your cool pink helmet even when you are off the bike! 😊 Another fun video to watch and enjoy.
Hi Tired! Your at the top baby! Again!! It's all downhill from here, both ways! Thanks for taking us along for your ride. It was fun and scenic. The road less traveled.
Jenna! Amazing job, I like the way you stayed calm and positive even when you got sidetracked a bit. This makes me want to hit the trails near where I live 🚵🏿♀️
Thanks for the adventure! I think you would feel better riding on the fattest knobbies that you can fit on your rims and frame, especially if you're into gravel roads. Cheers!😀
Well Done. It can be brutal on 38's trying to plow through gravel and bigger rocks. Makes for a good workout though. LOL. That was one hell of an achievement.
Just out here waving and mooing at cows, and making friends with sweet dogs 😊💚 such beautiful scenery 😮 Another wonderful gravel bike trip journey video
Looks like an awesome ride. Jealous of the scenery. I would really recommend a satellite phone(if you dont already have one) like the garmin inreach mini2 or something like that. Better to have it and not need it.
Actually hilarious that you said that because I had one on me the entire time and I didn’t even think of it 😂 also if I’m honest I’ve only ever sent the pre-set messages I’m still figuring out how it works
Stoopid bridge :)! I love riding in this area beacuse the views are epic. And yeah, smart call on not crossing that river, especially at this time of year when the water is still ice cold. I'm currently mapping out a ride from Edmonton to Drayton Valley. There are some campgrounds along the North Saskatchewan that I have not yet visited. Anyways, thanks for posting!
this was amazing Jenna! thanks for sharing another stellar bikepacking adventure with us! gravel is so much more stimulating & adventurous than road riding in my opinion. ++ you get to make doggo friends 🐶 hope to see more gravel adventures in the near future! 😎
Hehe Although I still love a road ride this trip has definitely made me want to get out on gravel rides more!! And you’re right the dogs are a plus 🙂↕️
You have such a relaxing style of story telling! I love it. Thanks for sharing. Feeling inspired to go after steeper terrain after seeing those hills you did!
I was just finally about to get a tattoo from you 😭😂 so glad you’re posting again tho❣️ I loved your poetry. Meeting you on some Canada Day years ago felt like I was meeting a celebrity 😫
I started the video thinking that you were in Colorado, then you said kilometers and I thought 🤔 Didn't realize this was near Calgary till I recognized one of the roads hahaha. TH-cam algorithm sometimes works great! Nice ride
Great video! There is a lot of variety in gravel. It can take a while to work out the tires. If you are riding locally you can work it out pretty well, but if you are doing a tour things can change a lot with the surface.
Looks like you were aiming to ride Old Porcupine's Choice Loop. Super bummer that Spray Lakes Sawmills removed the bridge over Cataract creek. Glad you stayed safe.
Glad to see you back on here. You are so brave doing all this stuff on your own. Aside from the athletic prowess, I’d be afraid of the killer at the campsite. Assuming you made your sister’s graduation👍🏻
I assume that bridge is on the forestry road 40, going south from the intersection. At least 2 years ago, it was a big sign right at the intersection, warning travellers not to go south because of this matter. I am surprise it hasn't been fixed.
I feel like on the one hand this video gets me so pumped for some last autumn rides, but on the other hand I'm stressed for you the whole time!! I think I need to cancel my Shudder account, it's ruining nature for me !
feel you. ☝️ I just cykled 12 days, 1065 km, with a very heavy loaded bike in Sweden to visit my sister a few days. I slept in the woods, fought mosquitos, wild camping in bear country etc etc.. These adventures never turns out the way you think it will.
Nice ride I did this section a few years ago as part of a variation of the old porcupines choice route. Too bad it didn’t work out for you. It’s beautiful country.
getting serious Windows XP wallpaper vibes from this landscape

something calming about some guitar strumming and the tire rolling over gravel. peaceful .

He sometimes I forget I’m even wearing it
Beautiful landscapes! That gravel was thick, even mtb's would have trouble with that. I think your tires are perfectly fine.
Glad it wasn’t just me 😅
You're so brave and clever, truly an inspiration
Wow lovely landscape!
