2 Day Solo-Cycling to Banff -100 Miles Through Prairie and Rocky Mountain
มุมมอง 411K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Did a two day solo trip out to Banff, where I had the chance to cycle though grasslands and mountains. This was my first over-night bike packing trip that I did in preperation for a three week trip I had coming up (and the vlog for that one will be out soon too)! you can find me on instagram @ jennakoenig Thanks for watching :)
Staying in a cabin on the prairies
มุมมอง 9K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Last winter (valentines day actually) Jet and I took a little road trip out to the Alberta prairies, where we rented a humble little cabin surrounded by grasslands, cows, sheep, and rolling hills. We brought our cat and dog along with us too, of course, and met a kind little farm cat along the way! We cooked by the warmth of the fire stove, and sang our favourite songs in the dark. We even saw ...
7 Days Backpacking Vancouver Island - The West Coast Trail
มุมมอง 24Kปีที่แล้ว
If you know much about the history of the West Coast Trail you’d know that it was used by native villages as travel and trade routes for thousands of years prior to Europeans showing up. In more recent history, this stretch of the west coast was part of what was known as the “graveyard of the pacific”. Since the 1700s there were thousands of ships sunk due to the unpredictable weather, the mist...
camp sight, needs bending over n shafting, that was pretty bad! name n shame dear, id have no problem with that!
its not cheating on the bus hun, some guys who do the great divide, canada to mexico, get free shelter, patrion hand outs, free hand outs along the way, lol technically thats cheating, as they are getting help, but macho it out ;)

Bravo pour tes vidéos, je regarde et cela m'inspire beaucoup pour mes prochaines sorties Gravel! Un gros bisou de France 😘
What would you recommend a beginner travel with regarding bike fixing equipment? The video is amazing!
This 100 mile stretch is so much more scenic than the 65 mile bike packing trip I did through Kansas last year 😅
Very nice views. Really hope can ride like this someday
Wow, never thought of being so proud of a random person until now! You go girl ❤️ I just found your channel today and I’m so thankful I did!
Be careful flames any nylon dont mix, putting your stove in the rain fly could be a disaster
I love your videos so much!!! Cant wait til you make another!
Thankyou! Just started on a few right now!
This is so crazy to pull off!! You’re the goat!! I love Iceland so much I want to go back and drive the whole country.
your mother is Vietnamese or Chinese
What is the cargo rack on that specialized bike? My wife got small frame like that and it turns out there is very little space for stuff on it, and the bike shop did not have a rack that fit. Not very specialized of them, lol
That was so awesome, thanks for the inspiration. Actually made me cry. The free spirit and energy is beautiful. I miss road trips thru Banff and to ride a bike solo on a adventure like that I can only dream. I wish they had those legacy bike paths everywhere. I'm 50 now but I can't wait to get my new bike and go haha! I miss adventure so much. I miss my daughters too and you remind me of them, the energy and strong will, love it!
I don’t care how many of these bikepacking channels come out. I will watch them all.
damn the internet is spying on me. I just learned of bikepacking today, and whilst i dont see myself doing this kind of long term travel its given me alot of ideas. Next year ill be at uni at a sea side city, ill have my accommodation for 51 weeks and it has a bike shed to use. Im planning to take my bike next spring/summer( during term breaks) and cycle down to campsites in cornwall. It sounds like alot of fun!
Nice scenery and bike!
what camera did you record this on? was it a cellphone or smth like a go pro?
very good
bravo!
she brought the cake
awesome views. I wish I lived in such a scenery place
Very nice
Be proud. You're unbelievable.
You are a amazing and so strong women 😊🎉
I like how you smile and when you enjoy beautiful landscapes, you have a great positive attitude and vision of the world
19:40 This is litteraly the myth of sisyphus one must imagine sisyphus happy because he's just alive rolling up and down his rock... he is happy .. And I think thats really what happiness is about.. its about being and feeling alive
you are very good looking.
great, I like to see, beautiful places you pass by bicycle
Here in the US riding on that kind of highway is illegal. You have courage riding with the high speed traffic and the big trucks. Nice views too.
What an amazing journey, props to pushing through it and it's great to see you sharing your moments of reflection and mental state. As a rather unfit 30-year-old, I went for my first multi-day biking trip about a year ago (about 300km over 5 days) and this has convinced me that I absolutely must do something similar like you in Iceland.
21:18 I would always carry a dozen of zip ties on such a trip. They can be extremely useful for fixing things and are light and small.
I so admire you. Wow
Been watching your videos since I was 13 (I’m almost 22 now.) Love your videos and your journeys. Wonderful cinematography. Hope all is well for you!
Wow! Thankyou for checking in after all these years! I hope you’re doing well :)
How did you find random camp areas? I was planning a trip, but I was told it wasn't allowed anywhere, unless we paid.
I contacted some parks or travel department in Iceland (can’t remember who exactly it was almost a year ago now) and they emailed me saying that wild camping is only legal for hikers and cyclists who are unable to make it to the next campsite/hotel etc. there are some other rules about being a certain distance away for a city or actual campsite amd that you cannot stay for more than one night! But basically if you are without a vehicle you can wild camp as long as it’s not private property
I also did try to mostly stay at actual campsites when I could! Only wild camped when I couldn’t make it to the next town within the day :)
I was cycling 44 km to work and back, every day year round. Hilly roads. For years. It was a pain to start doing it, but after three months the endorphine high way overshadowed my natural laziness. When there's ice or snow, you only need a studded front tire. The back tire never slips, and it creates too much drag.
What an amazing adventure! That ram was definitely thinking of charging because you are smaller than a car which he doesn't see often 🤣 8:07 Filtering the water is a smart move, can still have bacteria or sheep poop run-off from the rain which will give you crazy diarrhea -- which would be a nightmare on a bike. Where to next? Norway
What a wonderful ride, Banff looks stunning.
How did you film this? I’d love to know what gear you used and how you set it all up & used it during your ride! Would be very helpful as an amateur cyclist :) thanks
Pocahontas! ❤
