You might consider looking into an Oil Pan Heater… works better than a block heater especially for cold starting a diesel. Not too pricey and just adhere to bottom of oil pan, plugs in just like a block heater

Merry Christmas young lady from a mountain on Taiwan! Fire-Maple 600ml G3 Petrel Ultralight Camping Pot Lightweight Outdoor High Efficiency Foldable Heat Exchanger Pot Portable for Hiking Travel . They work on all propane and gas burners. Work in half the time saving fuel. I use them in my campers on propane burners too. Love your van set up young lady. Keep it simple. Look at what people with Roof Top Tent (RTT) are doing for efficiency. Incredible views. Remember heat rises so when you run heat the upper part maybe better and can open a lil vent so you have a slight breeze so-to-speak. Make sure you put some diesel treatment in your tank as well for cold weather. Sounds like the fuel is gelling.

If you camp at Tunnel Mtn. again, when it's cold, bring an electric space heater, you are paying for the electricity whether you use it or not.

Hope you reported that license plate and description? Cops take situations like that seriously and it would definitely benefit others. Good job leaving too many naive people out there that wouldn’t think twice.

As Jorg schlagheck says: it is not the destination but rather the adventure that matters. Jorg has cycled in Europe, Central America, South America and across Canada but his home is Edmonton. My thoughts are that your cable slipped or stretched or both! My suggestion is to learn how to tune your rear cassette cable alignment (Derailleur). there are often 2 adjustment screws. one at each end of the cable run. One where the cable accesses the Derailleur and one at the shifter. Shift gears into the middle gear(s) best on a 5, 7, 9, 11 cog cassette, the evens are the same but you may need to test the adjustment on both center cogs so if you have a ten cog cassette they are 5 and. Once 5 or 6 in line with the chain in the same marked gear on the Derailleur, that is it! Watch some videos and perfect fixing gears, fix your parents gears, your friends gears soon you will be the gear wizard! Take care and learn how to adjust and maintain every part of your ride! Take care, Misha LeBlanc Moncton, NB; A few Kilometers east!

An honest portrayal of van life. I once visited a place called Banff but it is in Scotland. I was also a little nomadic at this point in life. Do places named Banff attract the nomadics of earth? Who knows? As a nature lover I think you need an electric powered vehicle. Just sayin. Love and good fortune to you on your journey Jenna A. 😊😎

I really like how realistic your adventure videos look. This way I can feel more connected, like it all could (and some did) happen to me. Real life rarely as pretty as they often show. I like how you find the balance between the youtube genre and the practicalities. And how you describe sensations and feelings. Really wholesome!

Diesel hate the cold. I would just run the engine non stop. Diesel loves running and you will have heat non stop. I used to own a Mercedes GL350 diesel and in winter that thing always idled when I went places. I know people who work north Alberta who leave Calgary and drive to the northern oil rigs and their diesel trucks run 30 days straight till they return back to Calgary. If they shut the truck off for even 15 minutes the truck will not start again till spring. It’s so cold up there that diesel fuel will turn to gel.
