One tip i picked up from a guy in Alaska was to find a tent that your tent could fit in, and to set both of them up + some pad to keep you off the ground, if you so that + a mylar blanket or sleeping bag =🤌. The airgap inbetween the two lends itself to retaining heat a bit better :)
really enjoying your videos. im too sick to go out camping or hiking nowadays, so watching you explore and camp in interesting places is a lot of fun. and makes me feel a little less sad about not being able to go on the long walks i used to love so much.
Glad I found you. Love what little tiny tent experience I’ve had. Spent four months farming in the mountains camping in a tent about that size. Had the time of my life.
I've been quite satisfied with the Vango single tents and used them in Norway in similar conditions - always get a good, dry, night's sleep. Great video!
I bought a Vango Neon last year and have used it a few times. In your very entertaining video, I think you did a great job of reviewing the tent - and keeping the condensation problem in perspective. In nice weather I think its great; in cold or damp weather its ok and just as you describe it, and basically that's the trade off for the tiny weight and size! Thanks and well done!
Yeah gotta use these things for what they are designed for. Definitely not a tent for everyone! I’m looking forward to using it next spring when it starts to warm up again
This sort of place looks so nice. If we had something like that I'd go hiking myself, but in rural Australia all we have is heat, flies, red dirt and some bushes. Doesn't really lend itself to a scenic wander.
This is the first video of yours I have ever seen, and only 10 mins in and this looks like something straight out of "Frierin: Beyond Journey's End". The scenery, the cinematography, the MUSIC oh my gosh man. Everything about it all, what a gorgeous place to be

I stumbled upon your last video of the Rad, and this popped up so I watched it. Fascinating to share your camping experience somewhere in UK, I'm in US. Although specific brands would be different I got enough from your product reviews to evaluate what might be comparable models in US market. Scenery and video very enjoyable, thx
Holy crap the fact that you had to run parts of this trail twice just to show us nice footage is amazing. Especially considering you JUST mentioned "im gonna zone out and run this then meet back up" you totally could have left that footage out and no one would have been bothered but you went above and beyond to deliver an entertaining video. Youve earned a new subscriber for that alone! 😂👍 Great content man
Ah dude just discovered your channel a few weeks ago through the Carrauntoohill video as i'd just climbed it myself and then you went and got shouted out by Tom Scott so I have to watch you now! Love your style of editing and you seem great craic to hike with...
Great film, thanks. I’m a keen hiker/camper but never really felt the “shorts” thing (bugs, thorns, nettles) watching you didn’t change my mind 🤣 thanks for sharing.
😂 if you are running, shorts are really the best option for regulating heat. Trousers are only ideal once it gets properly below freezing and windy. I’ve been on summits at -10c in shorts and not been cold. (Always carry full length layers etc in pack just in case) Downside of course is you’re more prone to scratching and biting things
The edit from the comment about 'You don't think it will rain too heavy tonight' to your face was the funniest edit I have seen in a while... whole video was great too.
At a first glance the tent looked too low and I expected you to have massive issues with condensation. For me 180cm and 115kg it might still be too small, especially since I am not very agile anymore (59). But it seems to work fine for you!
There was condensation but I just wiped it off the door with a tiny microfibres towel and the rest of it didn’t get onto me so not a problem. I’m the same height and 85kg and there was width to spare
Very enjoyable to watch! I watch a lot of camping video’s from different creators, but you do it just a little different and more creative. Totally nice and relaxing 🙏🏼
Well just at that location, it’s about 175m above sea level on the coastal side of the mountains so it’s very exposed. Trees lower down still have their leaves. Some haven’t started changing colour yet either.

if I am bushwhacking here in Virginia, I often bring a pair of felco hand pruners to keep me and my son away from brambles and greenbriars. might be worth it for you.
I think he's being a lil dramatic😂 I walk through the brambles/prickles and thorns often and its not too bad, if you come across a thicket of it then you're not getting through, you'd be trimming half the day The gorse you can brush past The only thing that will scratch you up here is the hooked thorns, mostly they're single 'vines', nothing crazy
I know there's multiple definitions for bushwhack, but at first I thought you meant that you just casually engage in guerilla warfare with your son. I said "Damn I didn't know it was like that in Virginia".
