  • I make a carved push pole holder on this episode of my Bateau SK14 skiff build update. The holder is made from a piece of Ashe Juniper that I got from my Father in Law in the Texas Hill Country. I start with a fence post size piece of wood and work it down into two small push pole holders. The time consuming project was well worth it as the homemade holders fit right in with the homemade theme of my skiff. I hope you enjoy the video!

Don’t sand to much epoxy off
You should put one good coat of epoxy
    Lightly sand and paint it

Dang nice! You’re happy then I’m happy big dog! I find myself down in Port A tonight, Monday the 9th and looking for tips on a spot or two for the morning. We are limited to nonboat access. We do have beach rigs but not sure that’s a good but. Piers? Bridges? Take care and tight lines

This dang wind picked up and is going to make any surf/jetty fishing pretty difficult. I would check out the bay side of Fish Pass. Drive all the way to the end. It offers a nice deep channel as well as some sandy wading options. Live shrimp under a popping cork in the very early morning should do it!

Hey Michael, thanks for this great tip. I did send you a message so look for it on your email. We had a great morning on Fish Pass, so full of life! Dang, dang, dang! And thanks again, bro.

Hey Rick. Glad to hear that you enjoyed Fish Pass! That is one of my favorite spots, especially early in the morning when there aren't a lot of people around. I looked for your email and didn't see it.
