I'd like to add one more thing. I like to glue a small piece of foam or sea deck to the front deck where the pole touches it. When you're on a bumpy road or running on the water that contact point hammers. It can create a weak spot on the pole and run your tip coat. Anyway my two cents. Thanks C.A.

I just made a sweet one out of some bamboo I found in my neighborhood on an abandoned lot, suffered poison ivy a bit to get it lol but it's coming with me down la23 tomorrow morning. Cheers
i like to cut a little piece of those cheap pool noodles and slide it over the point end so if anyone accidentally runs into it they won't rip their stomach open.

Cut a piece of pool noodle and cover the sharp tip. Cinch it down in the middle w/ a zip tie
