You are already getting better at fly casting AP. I still love good ol bass fishing but Flyfishing is addicting. Not to be a couch critic but part of the problem is you are doing to much with your arms let the rod do more of the work. Keep crushing it!
With today's modern rods and half these lines being considered overlining 10 years ago....let your load up a bit more and you should be able to shoot without so many false cases. Take it to a field and practice into the wind. I keep my line hand low by my side and it helps to crush double hauls. Watch how your buddy does it. He has it down. Most important...have fun!
