how many miles do you have? ive been wanting to do this since i bought my 2018 wrx late 2017. im not sold on a cold air kit these cars though. its sounds really cool, but for the money that would cover the cost of another part. thanks for the videos.
@@ZedLucas not necessarily. subaru has to prove it. but its risky if your worried about the warranty in these cars. im going to be about 16-18k on my 2018 and i think is wise to wait and see if any problems occur then mod smart and smart maintaining. with that said ive been itching since late 2017 to do it and i think its time. hope this helps.
I don’t know what I should get for my first car, 06 sti or 2019 wrx.🤔 I feel like with the sti I’m saving money for better performance than a wrx. Any suggestions/help?
Just know how old that car is going to be. I always put in perspective, when buying a used car, the amount you paid for the car, half the car price is how much it is going to be to fix it. But if it checks out then get the 06, but bring it to your local shop to get it checked up before purchasing. But also a new car is new and you won't have any issues ever
That's what a lot of ppl forget .They jump in there car and start thrashing straight away .ALWAYS drive for at least 10mins before even thinking abt traffic light grand prix .Everything you said is common sense man 👍
I haven't changed my oil sense I got my car in April of 2017. They said it was super oil and doesn't need to be changed but once every 4 years..so cool
Lots of people run COBB’s tunes for a few years with no problems, very rare cases of them killing the motors, and most people would claim that they’re more reliable than the terrible OEM tune. A lot of people recommend doing an e-tune or protune eventually though, because it will be more reliable and give you a bit more power. I recommend using the COBB tunes until you have stage 2+, and then saving up any additional engine mods to put on all at once and get a protune. That way you only have to have it tuned once.
@@jameshemmings1542 You have to go into the menu of that screen then you can select to edit the multi-display (3-gauge) screen and you can adjust one of them to show the oil temperature.
Been "stage 2" on my 16' wrx for ~20k miles. No issues yet.
MiniSmole Nice nice! OTS tune?
@@JustinShinoda yes, MAPerformance 91 octane stage 2.
How’s the reliability on the stage 2? Looking to get protuned now.
Mini smole I know it's been years since your post but may I ask what part of the country are you in? South or East or west or Midwest? Thanks
@@tony4213 upper midwest!
I got the same air intake it was the best choice I ever made 👌🏽👏🏽
thanks for this. I have yet to go stage 1 but this helps ease the anxiety lol
Cobb ots map are made for cobb parts so if they fuck up is because they using different brand part with the cobb ots maps...it's come in scence
Awesome man good to see you enjoying it!
i got the MAPerformance OTS tune because of you haha
U still stage 1? Hows the car running? Any issue?
Just bought a AP can’t wait to get rid of this rev hang
WOOO YES!
what happened to you man? need update on the wrx 🙌🏽💯
Hey that's one way to get good sound quality😂😂😂😂😂
Stage 1 plus tune it. I change the air filter and give it a fuze it will have enough boost. That aps intake sounds weird.

I went with an AEM intake now, but that is only because of the California CARB laws, but the Cobb intake otherwise is so nice
oh i have almost 20k miles
Justin Shinoda do they come with a tune the aem intakes
Im in the same boat. I want the best out of my stock....but for now.
Blowing up the engine is my worst fear. At least you’ll have warranty if it does :/
Not anymore... intake ap + ots will void it right

Yo yo I just pick up my 2016 wrx last week, what company should I buy for my stage 1 tune kit?

Why dont you pay a few more 100 dollars and get it dyno tuned to insure safety of the engine?
I sub because you were on point about this video
im looking for a good intake for my 2020 wrx i might go with this
Did this get rid of the boost psi being all over the place. I noticed when in boost it will be 16 10 5 10 with throttle at a steady 20%.
you hit 16psi at a steady 20% or even it fluctuating that much doesn't seem right at all. Bring it to subaru.

What gauges do you use ? I also recently installed the Cobb intake but I’m unsure if it was installed correctly also cx
Ayoo Omar Af correction, DAM, Fine knock lean, coolant temp, af 1 sensor, intake temp
Justin Shinoda what did your af say ? How did you know it was installed wrong ?
Is it okay to run ots 1+ long term?

wait how did you get the oil temp to show on the display?
