The old Subaru sounds as beautiful as the first day i've heard it.
Great video !
I still like the older one to look at but the 2021 is something else. The drone pilot is a legend.
Many thaks.
All the camera angles, action drones, and pro editing is literally unmatched. Super driving Ken Block as always!!!
The sound of the old Subie is giving me chills!
i still think that thing would have dusted the new one actually rallying it full bore
@@angelic420x5 I love full bore GC8's!
For having a restrictor that cut off probably half of it's airflow the old Scooby didn't do too bad!?! I'll take the old 555 any day!!
Amen to that!
After the tragedy. It’s weird but comforting seeing old vids when he was still around. It still doesn’t feel right.
Rest in paradise you absolute icon 💯
Rip Ken Block, you will always be the GOAT #43 Forever Legend👊
Liked Russell immediately with that analogy.
Edit then he got asked to go for a ride. Love him now
Russell’s energy is unlike anyone else’s and I love it
Ken's standing around with his energy drink like he's chilling around a campfire with a beer
But it's not even open 😆
and he never even took a sip. The drink is lava.
Gotta get that sponsorship 🍞
I never met you personally but I’ll be inspired by you forever ken, I will miss your voice on the internet you’ll be remembered forever just like Kurt
Ken drives good, the drone pilot flies awesome!
When its up to sound....ill take the older impreza 😍
Would love to see Ken take the Escort, Sierra, RS200, the GC8 and the new subie on the same closed course and get splits comparing the differences. Would be awesome to see.
Not gonna happen he has a contract with subaru now so ford is out
@@rowan1759 But they are all his personal cars
@@grumples1517 sort of but but he drives ford because that was his sponsor
@Rowan17 i believe Ken is a free agent. He will be participating different events in different cars (Trophy truck, Porsche 911). I believe it was mentioned in one of the previous vids
@@Styles29 yes but his contract is with subaru
Disclaimer these are not evenly matched cars by class but good luck finding Group A car to play with. Awesome video. Amazing cars.
Drone pilot is on point! Awesome footage. Need to do this in WRC
I just got a chance to take the 1 day rally course at Dirt Fish very recently. It was absolutely amazing. Spent a whole day on those tracks in an rally-ready STI! Super fun to watch Ken on the same tracks I was just on. If anyone has any interest in rally driving, you MUST find a way to take a class at Dirt Fish. The entire experience was fantastic, the instructors and staff were awesome, the cars were super fun and it was just a very chill, yet adrenaline inducing, fun way to learn how to get sideways in a car.
That GC8 Subie giving that old rumble in the jungle... love that sound! Actually sounds better than the new one.
That is the calmest person (other than Alex) who has ever had a ride along with Ken
Woah.... The gc8 sounds the bomb ❤️❤️❤️ just as i remembers it back then when chasing them rallycars in the Malaysian's forest
Never heard of this Russell guy but I can confirm he is indeed a legend
Ha! That smile on Alex's face in the old GC. I bet that was a huge blast for him
Alright but what about the Group A and WRC GC8's. That would probably be more fair in terms of modifications.
They can't do that because in that case the evolution of the new model would not be so noticeable and would be negative for Subaru America's marketing. After all it’s all about marketing and never a fair test...
130 hp difference... I'd say the GC8 is doing pretty good for being 25 years older
I have exactly the same GC8 Impreza Rally Car and I still prefer it to the new one. Sounds fantastic
KB43VER
We sure do miss you man
That drone footage was sick, shout out to the operator
Ken needs a custom 2DR built by VSC for his next Gymkhana's! A homage to the 22B!
Like mine 🤭
@@ahilkhan555 I have no idea what yours looks like, would love to see!, but sure! Absolutely! 🤘😃🤘
@@WilkinsonGarrett Check it out @ahilkhan555 on Instagram, based off of a STI Type R
@@ahilkhan555 Just checked it out! Wow! That’s an amazing build!
@@WilkinsonGarrett Thanks Mate! Means alot!
Ken Block's Gymkhana series in the future will be in a Subaru again.. hopefully the old one will included
Finally a video where he finishes the stage without rolling, crashing or burning the car!
Be interest to see how the current rally car compares to a Group B Monster , that is if you can find a driver good enough to take the Monster on.
I don't know, but I heard some people online say the current rally cars are faster than group b because they handle much better, which makes sense, but I still think group b cars are the coolest and my favorite era in rally
And just like that GC8 prices went up. THANKS KEN IVE BEEN SAVING FOR ONE OF THESE
@@kelalkelal this is why I switched to motorcycles 🤣
I've been at this school, and its the first time I drove a car above 300 hp. 100% recommend taking a class here
13:32 - Seeing Alex smiling *during* a race, that's rare!
That flat four sound is one of a kind 👌
The 90's Subaru's are just a class of their own nothing of today compares to them not in my opinion I just love old school cars
Is it weird that I instantly recognized he was inside the warehouse in the middle of the Dirt Fish School from Dirt Rally 2.0? 🤣
What would it take to do this again with a 90's or even 2000's era WRC car? That would be way more interesting.
I bet thet it would be real close!
Collins 1997 Subaru prodrive
The 1995 Subaru is by far the most beautiful rally car ever build In my opinion.
R.I.P motor LEGEND
ken block's driving has come a long way, those were some beautiful lines
Group N and Group A back then was so great.
" I need one of these" yes we all need one of these
That OG boxer sound doe
The old Subaru car sounds are amazing! I still remember hearing them with Cat-Back exhausts
15:37 gives me memories of being at a rally and hearing that sound, knowing the car can come around the corner any second now
