- RBX10 RYFT diff tare down and inspection the axial ryft has developed more problems during my last run i started noticing i only had three wheel drive so time to find the problem after inspection it seems the spider gears are stripped out for lack of availability in parts I ended up ordering two vitavon lockers will take a month to arrive filmed with my Samsung galaxy s9 and edited with powerdirctor pro version
Vitavon axlehousings are the solution brother.Vitavon to the rescue.

Good Golly Brent, That Ryft seems like a Great Experiment in RCing, I use my Power Driver for some but like the feel of my Milwaukee hand driver 😂🤣😂

@@AdventureTimeRC Okay lol did blow the foams or the actual tire?? So let’s start with the least expensive remedies first.. You can tape the foams with gorilla 🦍 tape and glue the bead locks to the rims to try to stop the ballooning.. Hostile Rc also makes some zero growth foams for the tires from Ddm Racing ..A lot guys are having real good luck with the proline badlands tires for Traxxas Xmaxx.. just have to mod the hex holes..
@@MRBRUSHLESS i exploded the tire itself i never thought of taping the foam i also saw people running duratrax tires to i didn't know you had to mod the hexs

Yeah had to order off of ebay China express and all I could find was vitavon so expensive
Imagine that... I'm going to pick up a GMADE rock bouncer in a biy... I think it's an R1 or something like that. I live the Ryft... but damn the issues...

GOM isn't that bad, Junfac it and your good to go. Some complain of the steering, using it as a bouncer it's not that bad. Lock out the Dig, the only real issue I have had, or there is a mod for that too.

I use my 18volt Ridgid Impact driver for disassembly. Very rarely for install, maybe wheel nuts. D'oh! on the gears in the diff. Last time I ordered from China it came in just under 2 weeks. While the gears from the USA to fix my Xmaxx took 3 days longer. So you may get lucky on the shipping!
That's pretty quick for over seas shipping power tools are the way

I am at the same standstill point right now. Haven’t pulled the trigger on the vitavons yet. Can’t get a straight answer from HH about when they will have the spools for the RBX10 in stock again. Much less , when they will have the diff gears in stock. I would be pissed about it , but the Ryft is such a fun RC I have no regrets about buying one. Thanks for the video, guess I’m purchasing a ticket on the ‘slow boat from China too’. That’s what Amazon has done too us, I’m pissed if I have to wait more than 5 days for something. Me talking to random RC parts company “ what do you mean you don’t provide next day delivery, are you all savages?” Just kidding
Its really hard to get parts thats what the real bummer is wish they would have had more inventory before releasing it and the parts really shouldn't break so easily but that being said I do love it when its working
The stock shims inside the diff behind the side gears wears out and that's what causes the gears to strip.

Hey do you think the iron cross locker from the ar60 axles would work? I filled my front diff with 1,000,000 mil at. Silicone and it made it better. Good enough to launch it and snap the rear axle.
Well that will do it! looks like you may need to put a thin shim behind the big bevel gears you were showing to make them run deeper into the small bevel gears it looked to me like they must have had to much play and rounded off the gear ends? happy wrenching!
Yeah a couple of the screws were kinda loose from the factory to wondering if that was part of the problem if fixed it for good ordered lockers lol

I was lucky I only twisted off my Axle. Which you were prepared for. lol I am a little surprised that happened to be honest. It should be rock solid in there. Needed shims maybe? To tighten up the gap? Nice work though bud. Well done

Hoo dear back in shop again 😔 your not having much luck with this one, my kanyon been having a bit of bad luck smashed potal gear stipped diffs snapped drive axle shaft 3 months of fixing after fixing I can now play an test😁🤣😂

Looking forward to seeing this as a crawler, fully locked diffs and a crawler motor esc combo would prob fix all the breaking issues.
Lol I did that to my wendigo because it kept breaking im determined to turn this on into a unbreakable bouncer so much fun
@@AdventureTimeRC hey did you ever find the issue 🤔 I just put harden steel diff gears in mind still slipping makes crazy noise lol it fine when it's not under load ? As soon as u get on it no good ..was thinking maybe my internal little gears inside or something in my transmission very annoying...any help would be appreciated 🙂

Use putty in the diff. Old school trick it works cuz I stripped my rear diff.

Had the same issue on mine. 3 dffs have had the issue. 2 from the factory were missing the shims.. Went through and rebuikt.them with all the proper shims,. Bam happened again on the first battery (4s) those gears don't seem stringenough or have enough contact for the power.
Starting to have the same issue on my ryft kit with the axe v2 300kv, 13t pinion, and 20mil diff fluid. Just crawling with it and the diffs start breaking.
I don't understand why they didn't do some more troubleshooting before releasing this rig and parts are still hard to find I ended up ordering a set of vitavon lockers
@@AdventureTimeRC vitavon, very nice!! Those look like quality parts. The ryft seems rushed, parts quality and assembly issues. Not to mention the parts availability, have been ordering extra when they are in stock. Waiting on a rear axle housing...
My Ryft build not going well. I did not allow for the pinion being a 5mm and I'm using a 550 motor. I ordered a pinion with the right hole 32p 17t and it was not right. Now waiting for pinion adaptors to arrive. One thing the kit has a spare diff but I will go over to lockers if they go as well. Have you realised that there are 3 diffs and you ordered 2 lockers.
Hope it all works out Malcolm I really like the RYFT when its working its great I think the kit is the way to go
@@AdventureTimeRC It's almost finished, had an issue with the alloy wheels I used and the brake callipers. Using a file and repaint they will now fit. I love the look of the Ryft as it will look great beside the Wraith.
I am well familiar with those little green axial bags, I forced them into sending me quite a few of them for the 6x6. Watch out all you rift owners if they keep having problems like this they'll just drop the ball discontinue it rather than fixing the issues, ask me how I know.
Lol the axial curse so cool but can't find parts for things that shouldn't have broken anyway lol

Lockers for sure bro. They made one for it. As in the kit comes with one, when it needs at least two. And they are back ordered for days. Still a very exciting RC to drive
Yeah I had to get vitavon lockers from China couldn't find any others and the vitavon is expensive
