      Can u please stop assuming that something is less desirable because it appeals to old people. I am a physician and find your multipe comments disparaging of the elderly. Im likely younger than you so do not assume I am an old physician. Lets see, the back seat is good for older people who shrink, old people don't use gadgets or even play video games so they are fine not having any infotainment in the back seat, and the stick shift is longer for older people because, well, you fail to explain why. I am a subscriber and will continue to watch. Please recognize and limit bias against the elderly. If your lucky, you will be old one day and hope to be respected

    We all know EV's are fun to drive Brian, but it's not 'range anxiety' that EV's suffer from - it's 'charge anxiety'. (Which leads to 'time anxiety'). And the inadequate (non Tesla?) charge infrastructure in the UK. At 36:45 Brian quotes: "I just want to get in my car and go!" Not at 10pm in the evening, called out suddenly, and the car just on charge with only 15% so far - assuming your house/apartment allowed overnight charging. As Brian says: you need two cars - expensive. It's horses for courses.

    • @pioneer7777777
      @pioneer7777777 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have a garage and can charge at level 2 you'll have very few problems. That gives you 7-11kw and really adds on the range quickly! Definitely a different story for apartment dwellers with poor charging availability.

About electricity, you said 2 phase or 3 phase for charging. No, it's mono-phase or 3 phase. You can't have 2 phase. Just detail, keep up the good work, I can see you've understood the exciting revolution we are witnessing in transport, moving quickly towards all electric. I've been waiting for this development for 47 years now.

I need heated seats for lower back problems (polio as a child) but I don't need, like or want full leather seats. Other than that - it's a smashing looking car. Looks like I will have to look instead at the new Ford Puma & the Toyota Corolla GR Sport which, incidentally, both come with heated seats as standard. It's a shame alright.

    I'm extremely ready to switch to electric. The only issue is... WHERE am I going to charge it? I have solar panels in my house, I produce more electricity than I use... but my car needs to be parked on the street, not at my doorstep! And I think this is the situation for the vast majority of people living in cities, and no-one talks about it. How am I supposed to charge it during the night, as you suggest? Throw a cable down the building? Lay it on the floor and have pedestrians tripping on it? It's just not an option, I'm afraid.

    • @Hazzer20
      @Hazzer20 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Critical Rider I think most people would charge it in their garage but if it’s not an option I don’t think you could.

    well this confirms what i suspected, the VW group 3 cylinder engines are a lot more responsive and dynamic.

    • @BobskiGang
      @BobskiGang 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      VW engines are not more responsive they have very short gearboxes. 7-speed DSG longest gear is shorter than Peugeot 6-speed manual longest gear.. So they feel a bit responsive from 0-50, but on speeds where you actually need power (80-120km/h) Peugeot engine is much more responsive.. Peugeot engine has won "Engine of the year" four years straight in engine gategory 1.0l - 1.4l.

    • @TheLastCrankers
      @TheLastCrankers 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrGonzonator tech is still expensive, a battery is a complicated device while a fuel tank is just a steel bucket with a lid and a pump. Still, I wish it was cheaper too

    • @MrGonzonator
      @MrGonzonator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLastCrankers there is no engine. So let's say that was £5000 in the top diesel, that means the electric drive train for this tiny car costs £20000.

    • @MrGonzonator
      @MrGonzonator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Catmother batteries are down to less than $100 per kg. A 500kg battery should not cost more than £5000, and motors etc should not cost more than the engine they replace. Deduct the government grant and really, electric cars should only be £4or 5k more. This one is £11k more, meaning either they have bought batteries poorly or they're trying to limit demand. Or both.

    • @TheLastCrankers
      @TheLastCrankers 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrGonzonator but the ices are shared with other cars in the range, the electric drivetrain is shared only with the corsa. Peugeot says it will sell ~10% electric too, so there's more ic units that can be sold cheaper and still make the money that was spent on development back.

    Long gear stick throw for older drivers? Have fun trying to turn on the heater or aircon then.
    I feel like i would have to pull over on the side of the road just to adjust the climate contol.
    Also that 3d cockpit, it would be good if you could actually see it past the steering wheel.

      I have a feeling they do the long throw shifter mostly to sell the automatic. Mercedes, BMW and Audi have been doing that for decades now. Personally I much prefer the EAT8 anyway, but I wish they wouldn't gimp the manual as long as it's an option.

  • @incassable

    why is the manual gearbox so bad ? because it’s the same basis since the 205...
    Want a Peugeot ? Take the EAT8 that is brilliant, NOT as manual !
