Right? They give you OP mythics that you have to fight everyone for, instead of stuff like impulses, boogie bombs, bounce pads, launch pads, grapplers, clingers, etc that you can get out of the random chests. Also can we stop with giving out purple in gold only in special chests. Just let a chest be a chest.

I actually liked chapter 4´s graphics and art style. For me it was the perfect mix between fortnite´s cartoonism and realism. It is high quality, modern and more realistic textures, but with bright and colorful tones, beatiful skybox and sunsets, made even better by the island being surrounded by space instead of infinite sea with ugly islands in the distance. If they just stayed with that art style, it would be great. But chapter 5 went down the wrong way sadly, being extremely realistic with dull colors and not so pretty biomes. Chapter 6 gives me hope tho, we can pray they listened to feedback, with the leaked new skybox and lighting looking better than ever.

I have to agree. The sharp contrast between the still-stylized and colorful map of Chapter 4 and the faded and realistic map of Chapter 5, alongside bullet drop, movement changes, etc., really show the direction that Epic is pushing Fortnite towards, and a lot of us will find that very disappointing. Movement is so much better, guns feel better, overall the game feels better. I also like the collabs. I understand why some don’t, but I think it’s hilarious that you can see Frozone throw a Jigsaw puppet bomb at John Wick. Or see Mrs Incredible hit the griddy after killing Luke Skywalker. There’s something about the complete randomness and cluster of different themes, franchises, and characters that makes this game feel so much fun. That’s just my opinion though.

Lots of good points in the comments, I’d also like to mention the sound design. A lot of the og sounds have been replaced in favor of more minimal or realistic ones which just makes the game feel more dull and less fun.
All the collabs haven't made it less unique, just different. There is no other game with this amount of variety. A team of Master Chief, Goku, John Wick, and Snoop Dogg. What other game has that? And the goofiness of fortnite lives on as well, even in the most recent season we had witches broom, a chainsaw you could ride around like a wakeboard, and black panther gloves that let you run around like an animal on all 4. I did enjoy the slower gameplay of chapter 1 but most players don't and the popular gamemodes reflect that.
Nah it looks great during the day but at night pretty ugly imo I just don’t think it stays that true to the previous cartoony look. Imo the original look just gives off the best vibe and has the most character to it Chapter 2 feels very dull at times

i genuinely thought i was watching a channel with like 500k subscribers until you said this is kinda my first video, very impressive for a channel just starting out. keep up the work man
I think bullet drop was pretty necessary because if u think about it all of the scoped ars from the chapters before were op but now are balance. This is still a good video and I enjoyed watching it
As much as I've enjoyed the really early days of Fortnite: BR. What I really hate about Epic is on how easy it is for them to abandon Save the World, it has huge potential to grow big, and also on how the Shop became a Clown fest with ugly skins. No more original OG skins. Anyway, here I am still playin Save the World.
First, that facts I stoped playing because of its lost of his artstyle like when they switched to chapter 4 the artstyle was not the same so realistic and not fun, also underrated asf
You mentioned how it's annoying when there are a bunch of collabs at once, but in my opinion that would actually make it more interesting. Fortnite could've been the game where spiderman shoots a kamehameha(idk how to spell it) at master chief throwing a hollow purple, just for kratos in between them to block them both with a lightsaber. A separate gamemode with every collab item would be so fun. But I do hate collabs on their own because that's not what I play the main fortnite gamemode for.
When Fortnite came out, I only played a few weeks of chapter 1 cause I couldn’t get behind building but I did love the game. I picked it back up in chapter 3 when we got zero build and man I loved that chapter. I totally understand everyone missing “old Fortnite” because even though I didn’t really start until chapter 3 I’d give anything to go back to it. I remember when chapter 4 started thinking that the art style was wack but then warming up to it as the chapter went on. I think epic knows we hate the new art because as chapter 5 went on, we got some new poi that was at least a bit more cartoony with the last season adding some much needed color to the map. I don’t think we’ll ever go back to that chapter 1/2 art style for good but hopefully epic is learning from their mistakes and makes the game feel “silly” again #makefortnitesillyagain
While it definetly won’t happen, I’d love to see them tackle something with the artstyle of ch1/2, but with the colouring style of chapter 4, ch4 actually had some really vibrant colours and it’d be awesome if they did something along those lines
I never had a problem when Fortnite first started collaborating. Just to say, I started Fortnite back in Chapter 1, Season 2. I played until season X where I then stopped playing until Chapter 3, Season 1. (Putting that out there cus my ideas may be a bit biased or not good lol) Anyway, I really liked the Dragon Ball Z collaboration! It was lots of fun having beam clashes with the kamehameha . Or when they added MHA and we had kamehameha and Deku’s smash at the same time. It made the game so hectic and engaging for me! But ever since Chapter 5 has started I slowly realized that Epic Games just doesn’t care about Fortnite anymore. All they do now is put in collabs for no other reason other than the fact that people will buy it because it’s a famous person, or favorite character, or whatever. I mean the new Chapter 2 “Remix” season randomly has Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, and Eminem (again really?) on the map for no other reason than to make money. It ruins the charm of the original map and just makes it feel soulless. Yes they are all great artists but did they really need their own POI for a map that didn’t need it in the first place?? I’m just exhausted from all of these shameless collabs because there isn’t any originality that this game used to have. I miss when a new skin would be in the shop and everyone would be going crazy for it! Hell, I remember in fifth grade when Sushi Master was a new skin in Season 5 and I bought it immediately! (Love that skin, still have yet to see somebody use it though) But now we have The Incredibles, Captain Hook, Cruella, Jack Skellington!?!? There is just no point for these characters to be in Fortnite. They just don’t belong in my eyes. Fortnite has really lost its charm and identity over the years. I wish I could go back in time when Fortnite was in its prime and my friends and I would play Playground and screw around. Anyway my bad for the rant.
I actually like Save the World: It's nothing insane, but it's a perfectly good time, enjoy the writing, kept the look, etc.. And I'll defend the art-shift, to a degree: We're still getting some grand fashion. Hades and Megalo Don are perfect, in my opinion. Though, I don't really have the strongest thoughts on it to start, since I only ever somewhat noticed the shift away from the more "toon"-look.
The Og season 1 year ago was the best decision they made but unfortunately it was only for 1 month. We had the old graphic back, old weapons and just the old feeling with the friends. They should keep it like that just with a few and small updates After some months. But now everything is worse again. They even changed the walking animation. The game disappeared as fast as it came… 😢
Its not even just its art style but its entire identity. All of the wacky guns and grenades made this game unique. The best thing to come out of ANY of this is zero build.
This is one of the reasons I like these throwback characters we’ve been getting. All original Fortnite designs no collabs. They brought back the painterly textures to.
i heard that one of the reasons as to why fortnite changed their artstyle was so it could be easier to build in general, Like when the map builders wanted to stack boxes they couldn't because they were too crooked. So there could be more examples of how fortnites unique artstyle made it a burden to properly build a map.
first thing i noticed when i played CH2 was the lack of the funny looking weapons and PIO's... the mountains where a big W though, i love the endgames on these things edit: i also don't think the collabs ruined fortnite's art style, because those characters pre-downfall only needed some very minor tweaks to belong in fortnite, i think Epic just thinks it's nessecary to flex unreal engine 5's sick looking graphics, which is a shame to all my fellow low-spec pc players out there.
As someone who played and loved the first chapter, Fortnite lost my grace when they started doing nonstop collabs, losing their identity, and succumbing to corporate greed. The gameplay now is too complex, and the game itself is nothing like the game I came to love.
didnt realise this was a new channel until you mentioned this being your first video ! Good video, love the editing and the storytelling. Keep it up 🔥🔥
solid video, ill add that the game looks more and more to be an unreal engine tech demo at the cost of its style. but it aint all bad cause id say that the cartoon art style carried the game when it was at its most jank early on. when a game looks realistic and plays janky it feels bad but with a more stylized game the jank is alright.
The mix of realistic style and cartoon is great as hell. But the idiots are created a realistic graphics trend (thanks to big shots)of realistic graphics and for so many years the style aura disappeared for good. I inspired on that style,I tried to repeat it. I like the chapter 2 for realistic and cartoon style. And I played a PvE, because they have something in common, the soul inside of everything. The era are be gone for good, but I believe there is some hope to return this realistic and cartoon style of chapter 2 in future, if epic will realize what they lose.
The artistic look of fortnite changes and evolves maybe becoming more realistic is just another evolution in the artistic cycle as all things do come full loop we will probably get a more artistic style in future
I get you dude. Marvel season felt sort of dated on release. Like they are a little late to the MCU relevance party. Couldn't care less about most of the skins. I personally see more problems with how game used to feel fresh around two years ago (after all of those things that you've mentioned had started), but now it seems like they want to do the same freaking formula again and again. Some mobility item or two, some overpowered weapons that completely wreck the balance, and so much collab skins that it becomes sorts tasteless. I mean, video game collab feel cool, but all of those real life celebrities feel so out of place and kinda cringe. Still don't know how to feel about cartoon and anime collabs tho, since celebs are at least heavily stylized and cartoon character look really weird with that cell-shading thing going on. And events are so one-note and disposable. The last time i felt excitied about some special location was when there was this heist thing. Bosses - meh. You can solo every single one of them, they are just annoying instead of challenge or interesting. The current season is IMHO the sign of a crisis. They don't have any faith in their own product and just bringing back the past but don't bring back the past. Isn't it too early for such a blatant nostalgia-baiting? While for me personally the most exciting seasons were those with City and the Jungle - they felt kind pf rule-bending and innovative.
Yeah I agree with most Fortnite seasons having the same formula, it almost feels like they add op items just to nerf them now. Also im gettin pretty tired of every season just being bosses with henchmen and vaults, it was cool a couple of time but now it feels like it's being overused.
Ok, so first up: What marvel season are you talking about? Because the first one was based on the comics, and the second *did* release before an avengers movie that starred the same villain. second: mind elaborating on what you mean by events being 'one-note?' The events this chapter honestly felt a lot like old chapter 1 events, with how they occur in normal BR matches, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it lets seasons transition far better into each other compared to... whatever chapter 4 did. last: The the current season was planned at least as far back as april of this year. It's not likely to be a crisis if they already planned to do this. They were likely going to do this even if the game was extremely popular.
Epic didn't invent the tapered artstyle, but I'll give them credit for making it work in a video game and running with it. The earliest I can pull from memory with this artstyle was Tim Burton.
Well the original development team stepped away except for one person and that's what really threw the game into total disarray from the original. That's also what left save the world to fester away too. It's really sad.

i genuinely thought i was watching a channel with like 500k subscribers until you said this is kinda my first video, very impressive for a channel just starting out. keep up the work man
For a first actual video actually good asf
I think bullet drop was pretty necessary because if u think about it all of the scoped ars from the chapters before were op but now are balance. This is still a good video and I enjoyed watching it
As much as I've enjoyed the really early days of Fortnite: BR. What I really hate about Epic is on how easy it is for them to abandon Save the World, it has huge potential to grow big, and also on how the Shop became a Clown fest with ugly skins. No more original OG skins.
Anyway, here I am still playin Save the World.
Wish i could play save the world but its expensive as hell here
That explains why I suddently coulnd't use snipers!! I hate bullet drop, leading a projectile at long distance is hard enought.
Man i miss the old days 😢😭. Plz epic bring back 2017-2018!
Keep it up man awesome video. You really put it into prospective how much i miss the old design
Damn I miss flying the plane in chapter 1 when it was first introduced
I thought you had 363k subs not just 363. Amazing quality. Keep it up.
The chapter one icon skins were so good black window was probably one of the best looking ones
Couldnt have said it any better brother, perfectly sums it up
First, that facts I stoped playing because of its lost of his artstyle like when they switched to chapter 4 the artstyle was not the same so realistic and not fun, also underrated asf
All I’m gonna say is I never played Fortnite back in 2017 and such. But when they brought back og Fortnite it was the most fun I’ve had with the game
saw you only had 560 subs. That number needs to be WAY higher. Absolutely amazing video
I've never seen a video describe the changes in fortnites artstyle so attentively. Great work!!!!
For a first actual yt video you were spittin facts make some more pls
While it definetly won’t happen, I’d love to see them tackle something with the artstyle of ch1/2, but with the colouring style of chapter 4, ch4 actually had some really vibrant colours and it’d be awesome if they did something along those lines
Nice vid, keep it up!
For all my videos I have to crank the saturation up a ton to make it actually look decent...
Great video especially for being your “first video” this is a great channel. And I expect to see a lot of growth in the future from this.
After seeing the cars on the workshop i was wondering why nobody was complaining about that! thank you
Finally someone who respects the OG cars, really hoping they incorporate them as vehicles in the future
0:54 so old League of Legends based art style is unique somehow, cool
This is one of the reasons I like these throwback characters we’ve been getting. All original Fortnite designs no collabs. They brought back the painterly textures to.
I like how the artstyle evolved
0:57 ive been playing this game for 6 years and ive never noticed it but now it makes sense
i heard that one of the reasons as to why fortnite changed their artstyle was so it could be easier to build in general, Like when the map builders wanted to stack boxes they couldn't because they were too crooked. So there could be more examples of how fortnites unique artstyle made it a burden to properly build a map.
The new creative lets you import assets so it doesn't matter regardless
@@coldshock5181 it still matters for people who can't use uefn
yeah chapter 2 not all buildigns are on the proper grid
first thing i noticed when i played CH2 was the lack of the funny looking weapons and PIO's...
the mountains where a big W though, i love the endgames on these things
edit: i also don't think the collabs ruined fortnite's art style, because those characters pre-downfall only needed some very minor tweaks to belong in fortnite, i think Epic just thinks it's nessecary to flex unreal engine 5's sick looking graphics, which is a shame to all my fellow low-spec pc players out there.
yoo this video was really good, subbed
as an og player, they slowly changed style even in chapter 1, it looks so different season to season. season 2 looked the best for me out off all,
Chapter 2 was the best for me, the newer ones aren't terrible tho
As someone who played and loved the first chapter, Fortnite lost my grace when they started doing nonstop collabs, losing their identity, and succumbing to corporate greed. The gameplay now is too complex, and the game itself is nothing like the game I came to love.
i think they shoulve gone with the chapter 2 artstyle, more realistic but still fortnite
rly good video btw 😁
Bro, this vid was great! Was disappointed to not see more vids on your page. Keep it up! Subbed
didnt realise this was a new channel until you mentioned this being your first video !
Finally someone taking about this
The mix of realistic style and cartoon is great as hell.
Ngl chapter 4 had the best graphics or chapter 3
I honestly don't mind, my computer is so bad that Chapter 5 graphics look unrealistic anyway
I miss the goofy look of chapter 1 :(
I think this is a good topic to talk about. I think epic should bring back the old cartoonish art style. Good video, anyways.
i wish seson 3 (orginal) map came back i loved playing on that
First YT video? dayum its 💯
I get you dude.
