I think it also has to do with the fact that Fortnite's online presence has almost definitely been on a decline. There's no arguing with the Google Trends graph, and plenty of Fortnite content creators certainly don't get the same amount of views. So when you see people talk about a game less, you assume it's "dead/ dying". That plus Content creators mostly just recycling video ideas, clickbaiting or straight up lying these days, and Fortnite's presence in the wider internet hasn't been the same. But even though not as many people talk about it, the game itself and it's playerbase is just chilling.
Definitely. Used to see ~25-30 people online, now I see 1-2 besides my regular team. Literally all my other friends quit. But obviously someone’s playing the game still, it’s just literally 10 year olds now.

Same reason minecraft didn't die post-1.9. The playerbase is young enough that it won't leave, and there's enough media about the game that they never need to advertise again.

As another video regarding Dead Games put it, Fortnite has fought very hard to keep it's position on top of the gaming market. Whenever it sees a threat to it's game, it works REALLY hard get a solution. Right now, for example, they're working on an upgrade to their creative mode system to allow players to build creations in Unreal Engine. Add in a system to search for and view these creations/ maps, and you've got Roblox with better graphics and (hopefully) better creations. Epic are now trying to turn Fortnite into the Metaverse and if you ask me, I'd say that'd be a better option than Facebo- I mean *Meta's* version.
@@GoingIndie Thank you! If you ask me, most of the "Dead Game" mentality just comes from people seeing Fortnite's lack of Online presence and/ or personal experience. "People are talking about the game less and/ or I personally don't like the game, so surely it's gotta be dead? Right? " Also, if Fortnite's plans to become the Metaverse go well, I'd imagine Epic can make an insane amount from Fortnite, especially since they can earn money from pretty much anyone with an internet connection, not just the gamers.
@@gcharles3065 Again, maybe I'm just biased, but I honestly think that compared to what other games/ 'metaverse' competitors are doing, Fortnite's probably the best bet. They've got a decent monetization strategy with selling cosmetics that don't give you any direct competitive advantage. Nothing as predatory or annoying as other games or Facebook's Metaverse. The worst thing I can think of them doing is their "Fear of Missing Out" with Seasons and Battle Passes and stuff. Though at this point, it's kind of too late to go back, people would get mad if they tried to change it... then again, the Fortnite community gets mad at everything and anything.
The "no build" mode in Battle Royale is what brought me back to the game after YEARS of not playing it. Now, I'm almost addicted to it every weekend. I'm not the best at it but I'm also not the worst. It just seems so much more fun and casual nowadays.
Agreed and now with the OG season I like it even more. I dont need extra like build or augments and stuff I just like to run around and shoot things in a battle royal game. I do like the storm though since it lessen the campers that anoy me a lot in other games
How tf 😂 this game sucks regardless if they have building or not. First match I ever playing of zero build I got shot by a guy while I was in cover whole body covered I just quit the match & hopped on apex which rewards you for having good gunskill & not for standing in the open & building the twin towers in 0.001 seconds the nanosecond someone looks at you
@@IDKWHAT2NAMETHISSall I can say is git gut. Fornite is mocked by many. I used to look down on it due to its cartoon looks, but with zero build I can see that this "casual" game has more depth and skill involved than any COD or Apex 😉 you will not agree with me but thats fine. I just played for many many years and Fornite is one of the best games ever made especially when they are adding custom modes, lego or rocket racing. That game is sick!
been playing the game for 5 years and I can confidently say it's been a fun ride with many ups and a few downs, though I can't play as much as I used to, I see myself continuing to play this game for many more years to come, it won't last forever, but for what's it's worth, this game will always have a place in my heart
@@no-hw8db my least favorite season was definitely chapter 2 season 6, I loved the theme, but the gameplay was so tedious and just not that fun for the most part
I’d say because it lets you do more than just shoot a gun. And it does it better than its competition. Using memes and viral videos as their inspiration for emotes was a genius marketing idea. And their physics are so smooth, the dances and other emotes look natural and not awkward like the CoD emotes or other games. The fact that their creative games add variety like deathruns, escape rooms, races, horde mode, etc etc…it’s hard to get bored with a game that keeps giving, especially with new seasons and their collabs with popular shows/games - yet another genius marketing move.
The bottom line here is that there are way too many games that focus on the competitive aspect of gaming, so much so that games that used to be casual, like Call Of Duty, became extremely sweaty. The increase in competitive shooters or switches to competitive gaming leaves a huge empty void that is the casual audience, the majority of gamers that would come back from school or work, plug the system and play to clear their minds of the things in life. Epic Games saw this and decided to tackle that player base instead. That’s just my 2¢.
and your right, instead of catering to a few famous people and hoping to get there audiences to join in for a while until ultimately the streamer switches games. they decided to target the people that just needed something to relax to but was harder to cater to as a whole
exactly, dead by daylight was tons of fun then they started catering to the people who treat it like a competitive game, even though its asymmetrical and can never be fully balanced :/
@@abrasion690 Maybe I just have a old-timey mindset but even as someone who doesn't have too much time to play these games I loved the game when it was more competitive, thats why I like sweating it out in Warzone or Rocket league. Even if the general playerbase dies the sweat playerbase will be playing for decades after. When you spend a certain amount of time in a game you dont stop playing

Heres why its not dying: it bacame basically a social media for people who are in class together and you cant just say, im not gonna be part of it anymore. People hang out in class and in the afternoon in Fortnite. We did this back in the days on Facebook and such, pretty much the same. Recently I started playing again as Zero Build let me and my not as good friend play without being stomped on 24/7. You didn't need to spend hours perfecting building to get good, you just have to know how to hide behind cover and time your shots. It's a completely different way of playing that allows us to enjoy it without dedicating hours to it.
There’s a zero build mode? I need to check it out. I’m new to the game, I never build anything, but my opponents build themselves a home in 2 seconds 😅 it’s funny
Great video. I've never played Fortnite. I know of it but my online gaming days are far behind me. Now, I relax from work with some single-player games. So, that your video kept me watching says a lot.
I know that you've said you prefer single player games, but currently, Epic is working on a system that allows people to create their own content in Fortnite using Unreal Engine (Epic's game engine). The long story short of this is soon, Fortnite will have become a game full of thousands, if not millions of experiences (kind of like roblox, but with hopefully better graphics and functionality). If all goes well, there should be plenty of games in it that are single-player and/ or multiplayer. But you do you, just wanted to make you aware of this in case it interests you :)
@@TheEpicGalaxy21That is absolutely awesome. I cannot wait for unreal engine fortnite or creative 2.0. Give creative 2.0 like 2-5 years and it's probably got many creative games created by people and probably reached its peak.

Fortnite is a great game. I'm an old timer in my 50's who grew up on Atari and Sega Genesis. The level of reality in Fortnite is what makes it so appealing and enjoyable to play. I only play zero build which is just like playing War as a kid with phony guns.
Honestly how the game evolves with the map, gameplay & constant skins releasing i could see why it has the longevity it has. Especially sense it connects with all age groups of players, from 10 years old all the way up to 40 years old probably higher for some people. Could see the game going on through the generations at least a couple more generations at least

I doubt it was tencent that caused PUBG to drop the lawsuit. Minecraft hunger games and DayZ mods had been doing Battle Royale modes for years so there really wasn't much of a case to say Fortnite stole anything. Fortnite just hopped on a trend that PUBG popularized.
agreed, i think they realized they wouldn't be able to win anything in court and decided to make life easy for both of them its possible tencent did give them a slap on the wrist for fighting eachother, but its not possible to verify that without asking them
@@obsidianflight2758 Yeah, but still you wouldn't want to see the companies you have a share at fighting eachother right? either way it's a loss for you amd profit if there was no law suits and each went there way.
Another reason Fortnite hasn’t died is because it’s one of few games that constantly listen to the community. Many loved things are fan made like meowscles, haunted hills and chug splashes. All are things that come to mind when you think of Fortnite and that’s how you keep an engaged community
Personally I think Fortnite will have the same effect that Minecraft has, as it is a game that is targeted towards children, that as much as the older player base gets tired, they'll always have a continuous stream of younger and younger players constantly popping up and keeping them afloat
Not one word on No Build mode. Probably very popular with casual players or new players like me, who can't do both build lightning fast AND fight at the same time.
The simple reason why Fortnite isn't dead is because they continuously add content. I don't just mean skins either which other games pass as content, but whole new modes, ways to play. If ALL it was was battle royal with a map that never changed, no matter the amount of skins, it would have died a long time ago.
People are trying to make clickbaits so hard, "fortnite is dying", "how fortnite became unlikeable", "fortnite is going to end", yet in reality its still a great game with high online and nice seasons
Not dead as: -consistent, (usually high quality) updates every two weeks -Interesting on-going lore -special events and free rewards happen a lot - battle pass gives something to grind for even if you don’t have it -6700 collaborations per season -Map changes and -Loot pool changes keep the game fresh and interesting -As old players quit, new ones take their place -No builds fixing the sweat issue -creative 2.0
only reason i hate fortnite is because of its chapter 4 map i mean it looks so weird to my eyes the chapter 3 and 2 had so beautiful greenish colours and was so simple don't get me wrong the map and its graphics are much better rn but it doesn't actually feel like fortnite the beautiful colours of chapter 3 and 2 matched the artstyle and actual feel of fortnite chapter 4 is definitely good but the colours and feel of the map sucks and one more thing horrible optimization and that stupid shader compilation issue
@@KrakenX07 imo the chapter 4 graphics are amazing. Ray tracing is sick and the colors are so much more lively and vibrant then the muddy look of chapter 3. Chapter 2 graphic were good too though (but leagues below chapter 4)
What's great about the battle pass that no one said is that you could buy it by just grinding v-bucks and then buying it, and then get it easily just with a lil bit of grinding from then on, but otherwise you can just spend $10 to get it once and you can get it every season as you get more v-bucks from the battle pass than you spend to get it in the first place

I played fortnite from season 1 casually. After not playing for 2-3 years I came back last year. No build mode is the only reason that fornite is currently fun for me. Honestly I feel it's a bigger reason than most of those you mentioned. Big omission but still a great video and channel.
Also how it's not just an afterthought. With the added movement features, it doesn't feel like you can't get around. I was honestly really astounded. It felt like a new game entirely
@@JustSayRance Pretty much. Once build modes became so sweaty and draining, I had enough of being outclassed/outpinged, i wished 4-5 years ago for something with less or no builds. The only reason i play again is no builds. Sure, my win rate still is not that great, but I don't mind that. No spamming, always a chance against better players, and can comfortably play on higher pings without massive disadvantage. A quite fun mp shooter.
The reason PUBG dropped the lawsuit was because Epic would pull their Unreal license if they went ahead with it, meaning they would be unable to sell their game. Look up Silicon Knights v Epic, where they exact situation played out. It ultimately killed SK.
Most of the time when people say a game is a dying they actually mean they're personally not having fun with it anymore and that's it. They're just trying to generalize their feeling to the game as a whole.
Okay, reading the title, one thing comes to my mind; People have said the same thing about Team Fortress 2 for nearly a decade now. Neither game looks close to death to me.
They've been very strategic. I could see this as a casual player. I was tired of the high skill ceiling and constant maintenance of the game. Most games when you learn how to play them and come back after months, you still know how to play fairly well and it only takes you a bit to reach your mastery a bit. Fortnite on the other hand is a game that you could miss out on a week's gameplay and return a good chunk of halfway back to being a total noob. I was backing the P90 meta when it came out because shotguns were reining king (and were unchallenged after that for nearly 3 years). I felt myself quitting in season X with how wide the skill gap was. Competitive hyoe is good to start with but are you going to keep your small population of elites happy or are you going to shift your focus to the casuals which is less promotion but more revenue from your existing base. Then come chapter 3 with 0-builds and that was the final puzzle piece that kept the game afloat. People could now better translate their skills across from other BR or FPS games and not have to worry about this whole new dimension of building. It became more Hunger Games which is what BR is intended to be. Chapter 3 marked the end of a 2nd era. The time when most vets of the game moved on and let the new gen of people enter. I could see it in my games with the changes to how build-fights went and the general skill/sweatiness of opponents. Each chapter is a new era. However I now worry there will be a new potential shift. The same way BR was invented to save STW but ended up putting it out of business, I worry the focus on Creative will now stretch thin the resources. BR is too popular overall to abandon like STW, but Creative is rising fast enough that they have to put a significant amount of focus on it. So much so the BR players are getting frustrated about being force fed Epic's Minecraft/Roblox hybrid of a creative gamemode.
About the lawsuit they didn't go through it, because it obviously had no ground. Not only would they completely lose it, but Epic would probably win a counter lawsuit.
Zero Build Really Freshened The Game. As An OG From Chapter 1 Season 2, I Feel Fortnite Is Growing Popularity, Especially With The Upcoming Marvel Season & The New Mode Reload (My Personal Fav)
Nah... chapter 1 map and graphics were the best. The game is just a mess now. Full of things, way too much. Was better when it was simple. Until season X was amazing. Now it's garbage
Something to point out here - it is true that Tencent has a stake in many many video game and entertainment companies around the world, but there are also levels to this - owning 14.5% of pubg is just below the significant influence level for IFRS accounting standards of 15%, amongst other factors, meaning that they may just be treating companies and games like PUBG as an investment on paper like most of us treat our stocks That said on the other hand, tencent is a company with so much sway and influence that talking behind closed doors to both companies to can the lawsuit is definitely a high possibility.
I don't think it'll ever die tbh. Just like ROBLOX and Minecraft, new kids play, old kids come back for nostalgia. Never ending cycle. Plus the collabs really make Fortnite unique. I mean what other game do you have Peter, Goku, Rick, and Spiderman running around building fortresses while using shotguns, snipers, rifles, jetpacks, and powers.
Something else I want to mention about Fortnite is that it's a game with no big artistic theme to follow. Usually games like Halo or COD have to follow have to follow an artistic theme (military shooter for cod and sci fi military shooter for Halo) Fortnite have none of that, and you'll end up having Kratos fighting batman with the infinity sword or something.
Well they did have a theme that they abandoned in chapter 2. If you noticed by the first collabs with marvel and the star lord and black widow skins, they wanted to keep their stw sort of style, but I guess financial benefit from direct collabs changed their mind on that.
Just found your channel today. I've already watched 2 of your vids. I'm sad when they come to an end. You're really good at storytelling. I look forward to your next vid.
I never liked Fortnite and recently got into it somehow, but I think what's great about this game is that they know how to keep everything ticking nicely to keep people interested whereas other big multiplayer games can't get updates/content out quick enough or make any meaningful changes to retain the kind of numbers they're looking for.
same i recently got back into it and i personally like all the diff game modes that you can play. i’ve been obsessed with the spongebob hide and seek one
i started playing it again cus they brought the old map back but not enough to keep me. Game is no different than it was before i quit in c2 s3. Theres no point even trying to get into the game if your new to it or playing it for the first time, everyone is pro players. Itll take years to get even close to that skill level & its not fun in the slightest. Took me less than an hour to quit this shitshow of a game again 😹 i wont regret missing the og season, just cus it has the good map does not make the game good again
@@IDKWHAT2NAMETHISS I completed the entire season and what not and finished the pass out and all the levels. Putting the game down now because honestly... its no better for me than counterstrike.... or any other game... Fortnite to me is that one game that you come back to every few years. I grinded from when i started (s2-s3) to season 6 and then sort of just quit. Came back interchangeably season 7-X and then never really touched it again. Didnt even know about blackhole thing but then I saw chapter 2, gave that a try for 1 season, quit, came back next season, quit, and now all of a sudden its chapter 4 or chapter OG? How did 2 chapters go by so fast when 1 chapter took so long? I dont even know. I just miss season 4 not because of nostalgia but because of what the game felt like. Double pumping and everything... I am good at building too.. I can edit decently and I even kill those sweats with all the skins and badges and whatnot showing they are chronically online and shit in 2v2 fights and what not. I'm not bad but... The game is either you fighting AI or you fighting tfue. There is no inbetween. There is no randomness fortnite had in season 4 where you could be fighting varying skill levels and couldnt predict losses or wins. Now if my health goes below a specific number in a fight i know if its lost or won already. Its sad how the game only got more competitive and less fun.
Honestly it really is something that unless you're a active player then you just wont understand. I've been a active player since season 1 chapter 1 and what that has shown me is that for players like me and my friends the game just isn't beaten by ANY game out there. There is absolutely NO game that even compares remotely to the gameplay of COMPETITIVE level Fortnite other then probably Rocket league. There is a fairly large group of players who honestly I don't see leaving for a long time because of their passion for the gameplay. That being said... the die hard passionate players arent the only players keeping the game alive. Theres also large influxes of new or returning players basically every single season. So should Fortnite be dead by now? haha. No.
Diehards don't keep PvP games alive. Casuals do. This is a metric that has been proven in both PvP and pve games. Also pretending that you have to be a diehard to understand player retention strategies is hilarious.
The fact that Fortnite still averages 1 to 3 million daily players in 2024 is awesome. Great way to shut up all the haters. The game is definitely not for everyone but Zero Build game modes brought many players back to the game.
Started playing again recently and have been having so much fun. You just have to accept building is a skillful mechanic you need to learn to enjoy the game
As someone who doesn't really play many other games that others call "Live Service games", I've always found the stereotype of them being "Barely functioning/ playable games that's more focused on making money than actually being a game" weird. Every other live service game hardly updates their own game, but focuses heavily on their monetization stuff. Meanwhile Fortnite does both.
@@TheEpicGalaxy21 you say that you are “someone who doesn’t really many other games that others call ‘Live Service games’ “ yet, you claim that Fortnite presents a functioning playable game with working monetization. I agree that it does both very well but, I’m trying to understand why say that you claim to not know much about the competition yet, praise Fortnite for their efforts.
@@gcharles3065 It might just be my bias but from what I've heard/ understood, the general consensus on Live Service games or just modern games these days is that they're all just lazy made products that are more interested in your wallet than being fun. Buggy, unfinished, full of predatory monetization practices, all that sort of thing. And with Live Service games that have stuff like Seasons, Battle Passes, and such, it seems like aside from adding slight changes/ additions, the seasons don't really change all that much to the game beyond a different battle pass and season name. Whereas with Fortnite, every season seems to completely go all in with it's theme. Medieval season? Half the map has medieval themed locations, medieval themed weapons and items, a battle pass with some medieval type stuff, etc.
@@TheEpicGalaxy21 But, does their increased effort justify what they are doing. In my opinion, Epic makes possibly the most in the entire gaming market by being the most predatory in the Gaming market. Fortnite has Exclusive Battle Passes, Fortnite Crew, and vaulting of item shop cosmetics to increase their “value”. With this new chapter I also noticed they got rid of season long weekly challenges (As in challenges that would get added over the season but, could be completed at any time during the season). However, I also noticed they allowed people to now buy battle pass levels past level 100. Because of how there is now no season long weekly challenges they want you to play even more now during the beginning and middle of the season rather than the end. Or pay for more battle pass tiers and/or buy Save The World to get more of the XP necessary to get stars so you can acquire everything.
@@gcharles3065 First of all, they actually reverted that change of Weekly quests only lasting 1 week. They're back to lasting till the end of the season now (Though all the quests that previously weren't season-long are still gone). Also, as I've said in the other comment, compared to other games I'd say Fortnite probably does the least predatory tactics. Most other "Predatory/ Live Service" games do exclusive battle passes, and item shops that change regularly. So since pretty much every "Predatory" game has that, that kind of puts Fortnite and those games on an equal level of bad-ness on that front. Not exactly any worse than any other game out there. I just think Fortnite's probably one of the least predatory among the popular "Predatory Live Service" games. I'm sure there's some game out there that's probably somehow doing the Live Service model without resorting to being 'evil'. But so far, Fortnite's probably the lesser of many evils. That plus it's honestly still a really fun game in my opinion. I just don't really care/ mind for all the cosmetic stuff beyond the Battle Pass (which I get for free anyways).
Fortnite is always evolving and bringing new ideas for gameplay mechanics, maps, weapons, skins into the game. It’s crazy how much the game has changed and how much has been added since 2017 but you kinda have to to stay on top. I don’t see fortnite going anywhere anytime soon, they’ve collaborated with just about every brand, person or entity and continue to do so.
i have a feeling that another reason why the game hasn't died yet is because of its story and events It kinda feels like a story game while also being a social/ competitive multiplayer battle royale game. Many people might be invested in the story and want to see what happens next thus making then come back to play the game
I started playing Fortnite now in Chapter 4 for the first time and i enjoy it so much, love the Graphics so much, I play it in Native 2k high/medium settings at 144 FPS. And i love the Battle Royal Zero Build. It's a little like WoW actually, now actually and i'm a WoW Veteran :D
No build mode basically got me hooked all over again. I was hardcore into it on console from launch into season 2. Took a break from all gaming. Then built a pc and got back in this year and I fell in love all over again. I even get the crew and pass and dont feel ripped off.
The pandemic/lockdowns must have helped as well, as so many people across the world were stuck inside and with no work or school to go to either. I bet tons of people during this period must have been playing, and probably loads of new people trying out the game as well. A lot of people got into gaming during the pandemic.
For me, Fortnite was killed when people started tryharding it way too much. I remember that the first few months we just built to protect ourselves or make basic forts. When people started tryharding buildings, the game just changed
I realized what was happening when I noticed that my little brother was having fun playing Fortnite with his friends. He was having his "Prime" Fortnite. It then hit me. The game isn't dead or even close to dying. It's just the fact that after 3-4 years the player base (That started playing in chapter 1) got tired of the same game of and over again. As long as fornite tries and doesn't give up there will always come a reset in the player base and they won't die. Just like Minecraft
tbh it’ll probably end up like minecraft where it seemed like it was dying for a few years and then come back and to some popularity but not nearly as much
The no-build game mode made me get into Fortnite. The fact there’s no pay to win advantages to buying stuff and it’s pretty much a skills game is what’s making the game stay relevant.

This was really interesting to read. I appreciate the comment!
@@GoingIndie Thank you! If you ask me, most of the "Dead Game" mentality just comes from people seeing Fortnite's lack of Online presence and/ or personal experience. "People are talking about the game less and/ or I personally don't like the game, so surely it's gotta be dead? Right? "
Also, if Fortnite's plans to become the Metaverse go well, I'd imagine Epic can make an insane amount from Fortnite, especially since they can earn money from pretty much anyone with an internet connection, not just the gamers.

They've got a decent monetization strategy with selling cosmetics that don't give you any direct competitive advantage. Nothing as predatory or annoying as other games or Facebook's Metaverse.

The zero build modes really good and the way they update the map/areas and collab with different franchises helps keep it relevant

-Interesting on-going lore
-special events and free rewards happen a lot
- battle pass gives something to grind for even if you don’t have it
-6700 collaborations per season
-Map changes and
-Loot pool changes keep the game fresh and interesting
-As old players quit, new ones take their place
-No builds fixing the sweat issue
-creative 2.0

The reason PUBG dropped the lawsuit was because Epic would pull their Unreal license if they went ahead with it, meaning they would be unable to sell their game. Look up Silicon Knights v Epic, where they exact situation played out. It ultimately killed SK.
this is incredibly well made. Great job
Most of the time when people say a game is a dying they actually mean they're personally not having fun with it anymore and that's it. They're just trying to generalize their feeling to the game as a whole.
People got sick of the bots in match making... I myself don't play anymore because of it.
Okay, reading the title, one thing comes to my mind;
People have said the same thing about Team Fortress 2 for nearly a decade now.
Imagine a company so big that those sub companies dont even know theyre under the same one, thats crazy

That said on the other hand, tencent is a company with so much sway and influence that talking behind closed doors to both companies to can the lawsuit is definitely a high possibility.

So should Fortnite be dead by now? haha. No.
In my opinion unless somebody copies fortnite and makes it better then Fortnite isnt going anywhere. Its basically a new genre of gameplay
Diehards don't keep PvP games alive. Casuals do. This is a metric that has been proven in both PvP and pve games. Also pretending that you have to be a diehard to understand player retention strategies is hilarious.
@@requiem4ameme929This is a fact, pubg has been reduced to its hardcore fans and look where it is now
Some things need to be done to make it fun
The fact that Fortnite still averages 1 to 3 million daily players in 2024 is awesome. Great way to shut up all the haters. The game is definitely not for everyone but Zero Build game modes brought many players back to the game.
Great video. Subbing solely for the Kelsier love. Still waiting on more Cosmere Castaways
On god
Blizzard should take note.
Make your game accessible for as many people possible, and a competitive scene will grow out of it naturally.
well look like you got it
OG Fortnite came back and 100 million players came back
"Just because you lost interest in a game does not mean it' dying."
Of those kids could read, they'd be very upset.
Fortnite is great, cant even lie as a 27 year old , its so refreshing comparing to warzone and co.
it's the only BR me and pals play these days
Because Fortnite is fun. I'm 38, and Playing Fortnite BR since it's first release 2017.
It's the only place master chief and ezio can double-team deadpool, I still play it every few months. It's fantastic
What an awesome channel. Love all your videos so far - really great topics and insights!
Amazing video and very nice documentary . I think chapter 4 really made Fortnite come back
Started playing again recently and have been having so much fun. You just have to accept building is a skillful mechanic you need to learn to enjoy the game
The idea of highlighting indie games is awesome! good job supporting the indie game creators and the community
because it's a quality product with constant updates, a far cry from other "games as a service" like call of duty nowadays
Back when people sold accounts , trading rare skins and playing with old friends
It waa good.
Fortnite is always evolving and bringing new ideas for gameplay mechanics, maps, weapons, skins into the game. It’s crazy how much the game has changed and how much has been added since 2017 but you kinda have to to stay on top. I don’t see fortnite going anywhere anytime soon, they’ve collaborated with just about every brand, person or entity and continue to do so.
i have a feeling that another reason why the game hasn't died yet is because of its story and events
It kinda feels like a story game while also being a social/ competitive multiplayer battle royale game. Many people might be invested in the story and want to see what happens next thus making then come back to play the game
No offense but the story isn’t their focus i play and the story is rarely mentioned in game
No, the story stopped being important after the end of Chapter 2.
1:46 you combine two quotes "seeing the writing on the wall" and "the final nail in the coffin" lol but I kinda like your one!
Zero build is where it’s at.
epic games are kind of marketing geniuses
Fr
Its my question too. On why fortnite isnt deleted yet. used to be fun back in the midas season..where it was all perfect! midas fans like/
exactly chapter 2 season 2 was the last good season imo
It's not because no one can agree when it dropped off cause guess what people can like seasons you don't
Yeah I started playing late 2020 but stopped mid 2021 never downloaded again
The main reason Fortnite didnt die is because epic both cared and knew how to fix it.
For me, Fortnite was killed when people started tryharding it way too much. I remember that the first few months we just built to protect ourselves or make basic forts. When people started tryharding buildings, the game just changed
As long as there’s 24/7 ad-friendly twitch drones, brands to squeeze, & 9yr olds with credit cards, it’ll continue to lumber around in stride
Who’s here with chapter 5
Started in season 2 and now I’m here with chapters just thanking god I don’t have to learn how to build like a crackhead anymore.
tbh it’ll probably end up like minecraft where it seemed like it was dying for a few years and then come back and to some popularity but not nearly as much
So the only people who hated the updates were the pros. understandable
Pretty normal😂😂😂
because it still can be fun, just not every season.
Facts
Congratulation to epic and their successful strategy.
touhou
The no-build game mode made me get into Fortnite. The fact there’s no pay to win advantages to buying stuff and it’s pretty much a skills game is what’s making the game stay relevant.
Buying a PC is pay to win 😂🤦
@@hoani3264 The hell are you talking about?Nowhere in my comment is there any mention or anything close to me talking about buying a PC.
@@The_Rude_French_Canadian u said theres no pay to win advantages? Buying a PC gives you 240fps on FN there's heaps of PC players playing I upgraded to a xbox series X and all of a sudden I had aimbot
@@hoani3264 oh I don’t know about that, im playing on ps5 i haven’t really noticed players having any advantage, but I guess what you’re saying makes sense I just havent really had any issues.
@@The_Rude_French_Canadian people will buy expensive monitors and a PC to get the smoothest gameplay it's worth the money tho
People watching this in Chapter 5, when he said “I don’t think Chapter 5 will be coming out anytime soon”.😆
well.. it´s back now
Fortnite is still going while PUBG is riddled with cheaters. Epic Games has the last laugh
Not gonna lie I played during the popular build phase and stopped playing in 2019 because it was getting way too competitive. About a year ago my friend wanted me to play no build and I got back into it because it felt like a whole new game. Being a casual player now I honestly enjoy hopping on for a few games of no build and being able to enjoy it without being destroyed by TTV sweats.
