☕ WAS THIS VIDEO HELPFUL? BUY ME A COFFEE!! www.buymeacoffee.com/techgeartalk What's up everyone?! I hope this iPad buying guide was helpful. Did I cover what you wanted to know? What else did you want to see or learn about? Have you ever made any of these mistakes? What other iPad buying tips do you have?
In your upcoming Lumafusion video, could you cover whether the editing from an external drive could also work straight from a phone or an SD card reader. If I can take footage straight from my Android without having to copy to the iPad hard drive that will have on impact on which iPad I buy. Also, reading Lumafusion's release it appears that this feature requires USB-C or Thunderbolt. This would rule out the basic iPad for anyone who wants this feature, right?
San Francisco fan girl found this extremely helpful. Now, if I could commit to keeping my iPad 6 or upgrade to iPad 8 on Black Friday 2021 so I can get a slightly bigger and affordable screen to BASICALLY just watch Sagi & Netflix. Any advice, Sagi?
On a limited budget, I can but the regular iPad and Apple Watch SE, or the iPad Air and be left with some money left. I’m not really sure if I need the watch really though but also if the air is worth the extra money, what should I do?
The video's really great 😭 I badly wanna purchase ipad for school but can't cause I'm broke. Can I ask free ipad from you? I'm binge watching your vids cz I do really want it so bad😭
actually buy the one that is a little better than the middle but still not the most expensive one is a even better choice if it is available. Just slightly over your budget but still affordable. You will have a premium feel of the product you got with a very decent quality that will last a long time.
I target iPad in the Middle line up (iPad air 2019), and guess what? My dad help me get the iPad Pro 2020 and telling me its for productivity and future proof device...
As someone who’s had an iPad Pro for a month now, it’s insanely powerful, if you don’t need to push an iPad to its limits, I’d probably recommend an Air 4
Can you give examples of what would push it to its limits? Does sound designing/editing/producing software fall into that? That’s what I plan on using my laptop for and I’m not sure if sidecar only works of it the iPad can handle what the laptop is doing.
@@chloecohensound I somewhat over exaggerated with my comment, but I think some of that stuff would be intense gaming, 4K video editing, and some other stuff. The iPad Air 4 is also great with all of that stuff, being just a little bit slower
@@rascallygoose4926 I was planning on going with the Air 4 but man the 120hz is so good, I have 120hz phone and 144hz PC monitor so the 60hz Ipad will be kinda painfull 😅

I agree with you, “buy it nice, or buy it twice”! It’s better to buy a little more than what we need rather than buying just the exact amount of ram, or storage. USB-C was a life changer for iPads. Thanks Sagi. Another killer video
In what way is the usb-c a life changer? I was disappointed when I learned the iPad Air no longer has a headphone jack. plus I can’t recharge & use headphones at same time. What do you like about the usb-c system? Thanks
Sure, the USB-C would give you higher data trasfer and charging speeds and can even support SSD without external power. But, apart from that, I don't see much benefit. Not worth the price difference between iPad 9th Gen and iPad Air 4
@@ajinkyamehere5365 Personally, it is a major benefit for me because all the accessories I have for my computer, work with my iPad as well. On top of this, I only need to bring one charger on the road because my Dell XPS and iPad charge with the same cable and I can plug a USB-C to lightning cable into both the iPad or computer.
I love how you kinda give adulting tips in these kind of videos and explain it in the simplest way. We should be practical, instead of buying things just to show off or for hype and not get our moneys worth.
@@justmeeagainn anyone who thinks ‘adulting’ isn’t a word adults are allowed to use, isn’t an adult. How do I know this? Adults are mature and responsible and don’t judge by word language.
I’m a high schooler who had to switch to mostly digital for school after Covid. I have the 8th gen with the 1st gen Apple Pencil, and it’s amazing for what I need it to do. The larger display is amazing, and Notability is a wonderful app for note taking. People say you should stick to pros and laminated displays, but I believe the cheaper 8th gen is a PERFECT device.
@@stephm6202 yes it does work great with both apple pencil or another digital pen for cheaper version, let say goojodoq or logitech for more expensive option. if you want to do journaling and light works, ipad gen 9 is more than enough for you

Got the iPad Pro 11 inches last December 2020, it works really well for me (I got the 1TB since storage was a problem in my previous iPad which was an iPad Air 1st Gen). I’m a university student and I’m hoping this lasts me 5 or more years. Helps me get through my online classes, I can write notes while laying in bed and watching lectures and edit videos.
just bought ipad9 ! thats wonderful. enough of everything I need, I'm a sales and that's enough for me to do paperworks, or youtube with my son. best purchase ever
With digital art, your capabilities in the ever-popular Procreate app relies solely on RAM. It directly limits the number of layers you can use in Procreate and that includes grouping. This is important if you want to avoid destructive editing; where you have to flatten layers just to have more layers to add to the file. I prefer the 11.5" because it fits in my lap nicely while drawing and taking notes, and is big enough for typing an email on my $60 Logitech Slim Pro keyboard. The 12" feels kind of ridiculous to me.
@@khakikohii sorry, it is an 11" model. I can't really say because I generally do not game on mobile, I prefer my desktop pc with Steam. Though I imagine it is plenty big without being too big like the 12".
I brought the 11 inch m1, decided it wasn’t big enough, returned it and got the 12.9, which has an amazing screen but is too heavy and big to cart around on a daily basis, which i want to do. Returned the 12.9 and I have now settled on 11 inch m1 cellular 512 gb, apple keyboard and pen. I think this will be good for 5 years for me. I could have gone for the 1TB but i think that is more then I need. The keyboard on the 11inch actually feels better then the 12.9 as there isn’t as much key “reach” for me and I am taking it everywhere. The 11inch feels more personal and just better for me. The two week return policy does help you work out what you need.
I’ve been using an iPad Mini 4 for a long time. Decided it was time to replace. But this time I actually went with the iPad 9. I liked the smaller size of the mini. But I didn’t need the upgrades to the mini 6. IPad 9 gave me all that I needed (watching videos, listening to music and less intense games). Plus the larger screen let me better read graphic novels better. Plus iPad 9 was $170 less. Know what you’re using it for, then go for it.
I got the entry-level 32 GB iPad 8 about six months ago, mostly as an occasional laptop replacement for email, web browsing, note taking, streaming video (TH-cam, Netflix, etc.), eBook reader, etc. But, no games, no downloaded music or video, and no downloaded content except for eBooks. I was worried 32 GB wouldn't be enough. It's more than enough. I've installed all the apps I want and am and still using less than half of the 32 GB. If I wanted, I could free up a few GB by uninstalling apps I never use.
Exactly. Knowing what we use it for, and what we need is important so that even if it’s the cheapest model, it’s enough to meet our demand. Like the replies above, cloud storage also can solve the storage issue. Just use the iPad internal storage for apps and you’ll do great.
I'm waiting for the ipad 9 announcement. Looking for a tablet that I can use to write notes for college and consume some media as well, possibly getting into drawing a bit. I hope the new ipad comes with a laminated display.
I think there won’t be an iPad 9 Till end of 2022 and it still won’t have a laminated display. but there could be an iPad mini with the iPad Air design coming soon
If so, then I think even the iPad 8 would already fulfill your needs, except for the drawing bit. As the video explains, it’s better user experience with laminated screen. If you’re just doodling it will be fine, but if you’re serious then maybe consider a better one.
If you have younger kids, the budget ipad (currently using iPad 8th gen 128gb) is better imo. They could hold it horizontally with both hands without accidentally touching the screen. It works for all their kiddie apps. Get a good childproof case and a tempered glass screen protector and you’re all set.
The only conundrum for me is the higher end storage model that bumps the lower end storage of the next model up such as iPad Air 4 256 vs iPad Pro 11” 128. Thanks for the content. Am really enjoying the channel. 👍🏼😀
Hopefully this will help someone out.... I am a student in college and was looking to buy an iPad to take notes with. There were a few other things I wanted out of it but mainly the notes was the thing I wanted. I watched so many reviews and almost everyone seemed to say that the non laminated display was going to be a bad writing experience. I decided to try it out in the Apple store, and I actually didn't mind the "gap", I thought it would be a huge difference from what I kept hearing lol. So I ended up getting the iPad 9th generation, and absolutely LOVE it. It really suits my needs, and the writing experience is wonderful. So glad I didn't pay the difference for a laminated display. I did used to have an iPad mini, so it's not that I didn't have anything to compare it to (as the mini had a laminated display), but writing wise it really isn't bad. My other reasoning is, writing on an iPad is different from paper anyway, so another little difference won't bother me. If you are someone who is going back and forth because of this also, I recommend trying it out yourself in an Apple store. It may be perfect for you!
This was a really well done, video. I bought the iPad Pro 2nd gen 12.9” and got the most storage I could because I intended to edit videos and photos but mainly use it to store all of my music notation files on. I now have almost 5,000 music files plus many audio files that I link to them. The one thing I was sorry I paid for was cellular option. The iPad Pro was basically replacing an iPad Air 2 that was cellular & I used them cell service when camping & sometimes as a large navigation screen when traveling. The Pro is too large for that and I’ve never activated cell service and most probably never will. Btw, I’m still using the Air2 as a second ‘music book’ and for the cell service when traveling. Your video was right on the money. Thanks for your clear concise view.
So to clarify, 1. You find the 12.9' iPad Pro too big despite the fact that you edit photos, and 2. One need not get the cellular version of the iPad because it is redundant?
Your tips make so much sense! This video has just validated my decision to buy iPad Air 4 even more! Not too big, fully laminated screen, lightweight, and works with Apple Pencil 2.
Excellent POV, use cases and points made for a thoughtful purchase. I recently got an 11 in. Pro with 256 for the same price as the 128 on sale from Amazon for long term use with external ssd and found a refurbished from Apple Mac mini 16 gb/ 512 internal for the same price as the 8 gb. This saved me over $300. If you’re patient and watch for price you’re willing to pay you can find the fit you’re looking for…
@@WidePhotographs yes, from Apple on their store. Just look every day and you can find what you want with patience. It Took me waiting and watching for a couple months but I knew what I was waiting and looking for.

iPad Mini aside, I always tell people to decide your budget, then go buy the newest 12.9” iPad Pro you can afford. Some very small people may find it on the heavy side, so they can go with the 11”. Honestly, if you’re not walking around with the iPad hand held, the size difference isn’t a negative. With the usbc models, I’m not as concerned about onboard storage.
Thank you so much for this guide! It was very helpful and I made the decision to get the iPad Air 4 after comparing some models. I’m going to get 256gb because i have school work and a lot of apps that I need. Also, I edit photo and video. Thank you!
I bought the 12.9 iPad Pro 2017 a few years ago and will be upgrading to the 11" M1 iPad Pro today. Honestly, the 12.9 screen is way to large, I feel a lot more comfortable drawing on smaller displays. Especially since the 2017 iPad Pro has these large bezels that make it even more uncomfortable. But well, I didn't buy nice so I have to buy twice :)
128 gb ipad 8 was the best choice for me. I love i dont have to worry about space. Also i just use it for streaming content, reading, and take some notes, and store my medical books.
still have the ipad 6 : 128gb for the same use, it's perfect, never filled the storage ever, note taking was great with the pen and it was still in the 9,7inch format back then. great for you that you find the base family good : cause its great :D
I had an iPad Pro 12.9 gen 1 since 2017, and as an artist, I used it heavily until it started to get slow, and I had the money at the time, and was planning on buying a new iPad when someone recommended I wait until the new I pad was announced! I purchased the iPad Pro 12.9 M1 iPad, and I’m so glad I did! It’s super powerful and works faster than my old one. I could have bought the previous version for cheaper, but I think it’s much more worth it to buy the newest one for a little bit more, but it will last longer in the long run! God bless!
Agree with your bonus point. My wife still loves her 2016 9.7” iPad Pro (although I think it’s starting to show its age) and I enjoy my 2017 10.5” iPad Pro. Glad I paid a little extra for each so they can last 5-6 years easy.
I use my iPad exclusively for making music. Honestly, my iPad Air 2 still works fine for everything that I need. BUT it has 128 Gb of storage and that's totally full now. So I have to get a new one. And it has to be 256 Gb or more, so I'd need at least an new Air or Pro 11. Frankly, the price difference on these 2 models isn't that big and the extra processing power (and availability of a 512 Gb model) means that I'll probably get the Pro, even though the display isn't so important to me.
I bought the M1 iPad 11inch base model. I just need it for my studies but I want it to last for at least till I finish my education that is 5-6 years, I feel like the M1 won't become outdated for at least that time period. It's totally worty the jump from the air 4
I was thinking the same way as you man, when I got mine🤣 Hopefully the M1 chip still have peak performance if apple doesnt make a M5 in the coming 5 years😂
@@DerFriskyFahmy exactly bro😂 I watched a lot of TH-camrs say it's too powerful for studies but you never know what apple could pull off in 5 years even basic apps might need a powerful processor so M1 is perfect 😂
@@TechGearTalk they were extremely helpful.. I listened to your buy it nice or buy it twice and settled to buy the iPad pencil for the iPad air. And omg what an awesome accessory it is. It takes the whole experience to a new level. Prior to finding your video, I watched a lot of youtube saying you can buy a knock off for $20 on Amazon, I bought 6 different pencils and returned them all. I finally found your channel and got the apple pencil and that was a game changer!!! Thank you! I love the apple pencil. Your video comparing the iPad air to pro was essential to me as it made me aware that I wouldn't use the extra the pro provided so I'm better off with the AIR. Please keep up the good work. Sagi, again a great video! Thanks for that. Just recently it happened that the AC+ for my iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) model ended. Surprisingly Apple now offers (at least in Germany) an option to extend that AC+ on a monthly basis. As far as the Apple support explained you can extend the AC+ for as long as Apple offers support for your device, which is usally at least 5 years for iPads. Keeping that in mind this in my opinion is a strong argument for keeping your older iPad - e.g. my 2018 iPad Pro - for a few more years.
Can you please advice me… i have found a certified refurbished 12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi 512GB for 880 dollars. Is it worth? Im just worried about, it not being compatible or slow or die fast few year later
Very interesting and thought provoking, although I’ve just replaced my 5 year old 9.7” iPad with the 12.9” pro and it’s amazing! The screen is superb, the speakers are clear and crisp, the Wi-Fi throughput is so much quicker and the speed in general is super fast! I’m planning on keeping it for many many years. It’s a shame the accessories aren’t a little cheaper but quality costs money.
Oh man I *just* got my 11' iPad Pro a few days ago! I'm a student so I probably didn't need the M1 chip for something like video editing, but I got the Pro to help with being future proof. I hope the M1 chip lasts me a very long time. The laminated screen is also very useful for me as I do art on my iPad! I hope this funky slab of glass lasts me through the rest of undergrad and even law school
Same here. Went with the 11” 512gb. Going to be my main device for school, plus mobile gaming and just a little video editing. I came from the latest generation IPad mini. I liked the smaller size for portability and bought it when it first came out. So I was due for an upgrade. Now that I’m going back to school, I needed a bigger screen but didn’t want one too big. The 11” is perfect and is working out great.
I had the 11” as well but returned it because i couldn’t use the Microsoft Word without getting annoyed…it keeps on lagging when i type my notes every 15 minutes. Did you guys experience that too?
@@kryp2nite_09 I had that problem using it on safari but having the word app cut that out completely, the iPad Pro i love it way more than my previous MacBook Air
Very informative! I have the iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (3rd generation) and I love it. As a senior citizen and Unless it breaks or goes haywire, it should take care of me for a long time.
Even though I made several mistakes you mentioned (mainly storage) I'm honestly very satisfied with my iPad 8 32gb that I bought for about $350... vs if I buy the 128 gb which would cost $490 because it's out of my budget since I also need to buy the Logitech keyboard (used for $35!). The downside, however, is that I constantly worry about storage and perhaps won't be able to maximize my usage if I bought the 128gb one. I do want to thank you for your other videos though because they gave me more certainty when buying my first iPad. Will definitely go back to your channel if I upgrade, and will recommend your channel to people!
Say if today you had to buy an iPad again which one would you buy? Actually go more expensive with the air or the normal one that comes with 64gb as standard now? I am on a rather tight budget and this would be my first iPad, I'd like to hear your opinion :)
@@KLienne 64 is good but remember 5-7gb is gonna be taken by the system so I'd go for the 128 but only if you got enough money, otherwise get an older model and get 128.
@@KLienne I recommend 128GB and more cause I used two devices with 32GB and 64GB half of the storage is “others”, and not me again will upgrade to 128GB next month
I’ve owned the 10.5” iPad Pro since it launched in 2017 and finally decided to upgrade to the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro because I wanted the larger display for teleprompting and for editing photos in Lightroom. Side-by-side, the new miniLED display on the 12.9” is clearly superior to the old display of the 10.5” and makes a difference when editing raw photos. However, the old display is still no slouch and holds up well compared to the 11” M1 iPad display. I plan to keep the 12.9” M1 iPad Pro for at least 4 years and still keep the 10.5” iPad Pro around as a backup or when I want to travel with a smaller, lighter device. I’ll likely replace it outright if the next generation 11” iPad Pro features a miniLED display like in the 12.9” model.
Why would you replace your 12.9' if and when a 11' mini-LED becomes available? Do you find 12.9 a nuisance/ too big for photo editing? Also, can one take advantage of the above 500+ nits during photo editing? Or is that "feature" only available when watching HDR movie contents?
@@sonicvboom I meant I would replace the 10.5" iPad Pro with a new 11" model if it had the same display technology in the current 12.9" that I recently purchased. In the end, I need 2 iPads for work.
I bought my iPad Pro 11 (1st gen) in 2018 because i wanted the 120Hz and the full screen display to draw and for school and i am still so happy with it!
Would you recommend putting a tempered glass on laminated displays or will it just compromise the feature of laminated display of your device? Thoughts?
Update: been using my M1 11” iPad Pro with a tempered glass for around 3 months now. Sure there’s a compromise of the laminated display but just minimal. You’ll get used to it like there’s no tempered glass at all. Ps. I came from using iPad mini 3.

I'm looking at getting an iPad that I can use as a journal and sometimes just doodle on, and also take notes . Also something that I can watch streaming services on and possibly FaceTime too
Initially, I was having a hard time deciding on the storage on my IPad Pro 11 M1 as it costs more than $100 to move from the base 128gb to 256gb. In the end, I settled on 128gb, spent $10 on a 128gb OTG flash drive and upgraded my ICloud storage. I ended up spending much less and meeting my storage requirement.
Bought the 6th and 8th gens for reading and it has been flawless; I don’t even notice the displays non-lamination. Also, my kids use them for reading as well, if they ever break it, it won’t be too costly to repair.
I bought the cheapest in 2018 (ipad 6 i think) and i’m still really happy with it (btw i study on it and do some digital art) so i think sometimes it’s ok to go with the cheap one if you can’t spend much

Hi. I could really use some advice. I'm interested in purchasing an iPad. However I'm not sure if I could get the 11 inch or 12.9 inch. I'm also not sure if I could get the 2020 model or the 2021 model. Plus I'm unsure about storage options 256 GB or 512 GB I am most definitely a casual user. I usually use it for emailing, light productivity work, watching content, video calls and light gaming. I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have.
Honnestly, people buy overpowered phones for instagram (you don't even need top tier camera to take pics because people browse IG on their tiny phones, nobody will zoom in to see the nipples under the dress), dating apps and mail browsing... You can't really tell people to buy something less expensive because they don't need the power. They buy it because they want to show off that they are "in".
My first iPad was an 12.9-inch iPad Pro 12.9 with 128 GB for art and watching movies, and I am still using it today. I also bought it when it was a year old, so it was great value for the money. I get what you are saying with the storage. For my first few iPhones, I got the least amount of storage and regretted it when I began putting more games and pictures on the phone. For my third I got a iPhone 6s + and I ran with that for 6 years. I am now using a Samsung S20FE, and I am really enjoying having my foot in both ecosystems. Great video by the way.
I absolutely love my iPad Pro 10.5. It still works so well and does everything I need. But at 64gb storage, what was I thinking? Would love more storage on maybe the iPad Air 4 but I just can’t justify it when my iPad runs so well. Never go base storage, kids.
6:12, the base iPad has stereo speakers. The way it's phrased 'moving up to the Air you're getting a significant improvement in the quality of speakers and you're also getting stereo speakers' leads one to believe the base iPad doesn't have stereo speakers... which it does. You could say 'horizontally-opposed speakers', which would be accurate.
May I ask what screen protector you use for the IPads Pro? I have seen a ton of reviews on different ones and would really like your perspective about it. I’ve seen some Apple Pencils in really bad shape because of some screen protectors. I’d really like to buy an iPad for college so it’ll mostly be for note taking, studying, reading and the occasional media browsing. Also, would you recommend more the iPad Air or the Pro? Thanks!
I would definitely recommend the pro, it’s what I have. If its the newer ones you’re looking at the pros have the same processor as the MacBooks. The Apple Pencil is magnetic to the IPad and I use a regular screen protector with the Apple Pencil and my screen protector still looks brand new
I have an iPad 6th gen and I mainly use it for gaming(heavy apps), and some editing as well. I experience frequent fps drops when I try and record, so I was thinking of going for the ipad 9th gen, or should I just buy the 8th gen now?
I've had the 2021 12.9 iPad Pro with magic keyboard for a month or so. This configuration is the closest I've come to using an iPad as a laptop replacement. It's a little clunky in terms of saving files and multitasking, but the addition of the touch screen capability with the keyboard/trackpad make for a nice working experience compared to my MacBook Air. I have easily been able to do 95+% of the tasks on I used to do on my MacBook with relative ease. Given the ability to pull the tablet off the keyboard case and use it like a tablet is a real plus. Still room for improvement, but it's come a long way. The downside - this configuration costs as much as or more than a MacBook Air.

Get either the Air or the Pro!! I have the iPad 8 right now and it’s not the best experience for writing and taking notes in lectures. I really wish I saw this video earlier! The Air has a bigger screen too. It’s definitely better for writing and drawing, so I highly recommend that!

What's up everyone?!
I’m not really sure if I need the watch really though but also if the air is worth the extra money, what should I do?

actually buy the one that is a little better than the middle but still not the most expensive one is a even better choice if it is available.

Yes USB-C is the way to go. As new user I wouldn't never ever even consider to proprietary Apple port.
@@ajinkyamehere5365 Personally, it is a major benefit for me because all the accessories I have for my computer, work with my iPad as well. @@TechGearTalk I’ll be picking up my M1 iPad Pro 12.9 inch today! Thanks for the help.

11.5? which one is that?
@@awakeningscotland Haha, good catch! but you know what I mean.

@@khakikohii sorry, it is an 11" model. I can't really say because I generally do not game on mobile, I prefer my desktop pc with Steam. Though I imagine it is plenty big without being too big like the 12".
can you tell if ipad air is good for digital art??
What is the experience of the display
If I wanted, I could free up a few GB by uninstalling apps I never use.
and it can also be solved by using iCloud/gdrive.
Exactly.
Knowing what we use it for, and what we need is important so that even if it’s the cheapest model, it’s enough to meet our demand.
Like the replies above, cloud storage also can solve the storage issue.
Just use the iPad internal storage for apps and you’ll do great.

I appreciate the kind words - and you taking the time to share your experience. Thank you for being part of the channel!

“Buy it nice or buy it twice” such a good saying. 16gb on iPhones ain’t even enough these days. Time to upgrade to 128 plus from now on.
I got the iPad air 4th gen 256 gb just for browsing when I’m away from and I guess it fits the purpose and never thought of upgrading by now.
I bought the M1 iPad 11inch base model. I just need it for my studies but I want it to last for at least till I finish my education that is 5-6 years, I feel like the M1 won't become outdated for at least that time period. It's totally worty the jump from the air 4

Initially, I was having a hard time deciding on the storage on my IPad Pro 11 M1 as it costs more than $100 to move from the base 128gb to 256gb. In the end, I settled on 128gb, spent $10 on a 128gb OTG flash drive and upgraded my ICloud storage. I ended up spending much less and meeting my storage requirement.
Perhaps one of the more useful and honest iPad buying guide.
Love your level-headed reviews and advice. So helpful!
Bought the 6th and 8th gens for reading and it has been flawless; I don’t even notice the displays non-lamination. Also, my kids use them for reading as well, if they ever break it, it won’t be too costly to repair.
Apple care is so worth it. They usually just replace no questions asked
I bought the cheapest in 2018 (ipad 6 i think) and i’m still really happy with it (btw i study on it and do some digital art) so i think sometimes it’s ok to go with the cheap one if you can’t spend much
I want a big display for TH-cam and movies and for gaming, drawing also editing
Your video are always helpful! I'm just in the process of learning to use the mac mini but i like the idea of a ipad to give me another display! Great Content as always.
So glad to hear it. Sidecar is super valuable!
I currently have an Air 2 and I am finally trading in, while it still has some value. Excited to get the Air 4 ... time for an upgrade. Using whatever I get to pay for my new baby !
These are my reasons to buy an iPad - animation, comic making, gaming and editing, I'm thinking to buy iPad gen 9, is it the right choice?
Yeah I agree
Just move/ transfer your under-used files to a external hard-drive. Problem solved. 😚😚
The Apple Pencil is magnetic to the IPad and I use a regular screen protector with the Apple Pencil and my screen protector still looks brand new
I already have a MacBook Air and want a iPad for playing games and consuming social media what iPad should I get?
I have an iPad 6th gen and I mainly use it for gaming(heavy apps), and some editing as well. I experience frequent fps drops when I try and record, so I was thinking of going for the ipad 9th gen, or should I just buy the 8th gen now?
You should wait for the iPad 9
Wait for 9th
@@happyshare2481 thank you both
"Buying to big" I'd probably the most common! So easy to do when buying any kind of screen based technology.
Yup. Easy to overlook practicality.
Can I use it for freelance writing and logo design?
@@mahdeesakib5958 ~ Freelance writing for sure. As for logo design, I suppose that depends on your software requirements. The Apple Pencil is amazing with the iPad. A lot of artists are using it.
i changed from air4 to ipad pro 2021 ending up buying twice, but i never regret my decision since m1 is so powerful and not just having promotion
What was your reason for upgrading from the iPad Air 4 to the iPad Pro
@@billysmith5977 I upgraded it mainly because of the M1 chip, that chip gives you i would say 3 times the performance from a regular upgrade, every heavy apps i used becomes light on the device. The ipad pro 2021 is a beast. It would take 2-3 more generations of android or apple A series chip to be at this level of performance
man, it's so good to be back! college life has been keeping me busy but I'm always supporting you on the sideline! keep up the good work!
(was also wondering my 12.9 inch iPad Pro 2020 will be okay in 5-6 years?)
Hi Sky!!!! Glad to see that you're staying focused on school. I was away for 10 days, so you didn't miss much. Yes, you should be good for 5-6 years. Here's my comparison: th-cam.com/video/KOMkMM0mpFU/w-d-xo.html (in case you haven't seen)
@@TechGearTalk Do take more breaks when you want to Sagi! Cheers!
@@TechGearTalk That would have been my question as well. I'm a teacher, I needed the bigger screen and the Apple Pencil 2 experience, I won't be video editing, nor anything like this. So I have an iPad Pro 2020.
I love this video because you gave such good information in an objective manner. What can you tell me about the microphone in the different iPads?
I'm a management consultant. Exploring options to move my note- taking during client meetings to a digital medium (I often need to share these notes with my team after the meeting). I was leaning towards Remarkable 2 but the cost vs lack of some basic features (no backlighting etc) put me off. Looking at iPad options now- and I feel the Mini is too small as a notebook replacement. iPad Air 4 looks the best fit, but a bit envious of the screen real estate of the iPad Pro. Any thoughts?
Better wait for ipad air 5 which possibly will be announced in March, unless you need it now then air 4 would be the best for your usage.
@@luthfi1008 well, unless ipad air 5 is something revoluationary, I might hold out till the announcement and then go for an ipad air 4 anyway 😂😂 at a cut-price.
Yes, that's why it is better to wait if not urgent
I just upgraded my iPad 2 with the 9th generation. 🤷🏾♀️ Once my apps and safari stopped working properly, I knew it was time. So anything to me is a great upgrade!! Great video!!
Yeah you got your money’s worth! I feel like my 8 will be fine for years
Amazing video!
You are so kind!
Thanx. Iam going to buy Ipad 8th gen 128gb varient
Im contemplating grabbing an ipad to replace my kindle (yeah yeah i know its night and day diff). Legit just want something that I could dump my cbz and ebooks onto, use for light browsing (for walkthroughs or maps while gaming on pc so I dont have to minimize) and every now and again use for movies while Im flying or dont have access to my pc.
I really was thinking of getting the mini because its small and I could prob easily shove in back pocket instead of having to have a bag on me but the price diff makes no sense. Im totally not paying close to $200 diff for a smaller screen(because I will be getting the largest storage size).
@Princess Kitty Nah I was about to buy it then I actually got a ps5 so money went into that instead.
I have 2 ipads, air and regular but I also have a small kindle to keep my books on because it’s the same size as books. It’s not an ipad but it gets around,
i want to comment for you clips... i seen many ones... want to come out and tell you that
you making a deeper, real life review than others do...
your reviews are so dive deep to a very little details that everyone look ahead
but you see that and that it's huge significant of decision
So glad the videos are helpful. Thank you for being part of the channel!
I’m a student looking into an iPad and I’m torn between the air 4 or the new iPad 9 that Apple realised. I do art both as a subject and spare time, and want to use it for mainly notes but also some art works and art skills so wanted to know what would be best
Get either the Air or the Pro!! I have the iPad 8 right now and it’s not the best experience for writing and taking notes in lectures. I really wish I saw this video earlier! The Air has a bigger screen too. It’s definitely better for writing and drawing, so I highly recommend that!
@@macaronistudies1969 Thank you!!
Amazing video. Finally someone doing real non click baity stuff!!
Got an iPad 4 with 12GB in college, recently upgraded with a iPad 8 with 32GB. No regrets.
Mostly watching TH-cam, Netflix, listening to TH-cam music, occasionally reply email and read Google drive. No regrets.
Great work! Get the most out of your money, Michelle.
Thank you for pointing out that the headphone Jack only comes on the iPad 8. That made my decision much easier.
Awesome video and commentary. Very useful
Thanks for the advice Brad! Much needed, I have to say you are the most underated TH-camr/Content Creator for Tech! Come on guys lets get this legend some more subscribers!! The comments on here are going wiiillldddd!! lol Amazing Studio too btw.. love the background lighting!!
This is such an underrated video, it can be applied to so many more things than just Ipads ^^
Glad it was helpful. Thank you for being part of the channel!
Im getting the iPad Pro 9.7 128gb 2016 model refurbished in a week. I can’t wait.
Thank you very much, many questions come to my mind which you have gone away after watching this video
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Glad I could help.

Totally agree, I have just bought my first Ipad - an Ipad Gen 8 and the air gap makes me very frustrated
I cant notice it. It does not bother me but i wish it had truetone.
It’s probably because you keep thinking of it. I don’t really notice the non laminated display
Do you know, if there‘s going to be a new iPad Pro in 2022? Thanks for creating this video!
iPad Pro 12.9 512gb with cell 2021 is my replacement for my MacBook… does everything I need… screen is awesomely good!
I think I bought the right iPad. I bought the 2020 iPad Pro 10” for studying and taking notes :)
Great breakdown of the difference s between iPads!
I have a 2020 iPad Pro do i need to upgrade?
