  • Should you buy the iPad 10 or the iPad Mini 6? The iPad 10 does have a new design, new display, and a USB-C port, but there are still some critical differences between the two - even when it comes to accessories - so let’s see which one is actually better?
We’ll revisit price later on when we talk about configuration options, but in the US, the iPad 10 starts at $449 and the Mini 6 starts at $499 so there’s a $50 difference - and I know that outside of the US - prices are really different - so let me know in the comment section, where you’re from and what these two iPads cost, where you live.

If you can use the smaller display, the Mini is amazing. I feel as if it’s the best “iPad”. The rest try too hard to be computer replacements while the Mini acts as a perfect and portable tablet.
I loved using mine for about a year. Switched to the 11” M2 iPad Pro since a larger display is much more comfortable for notes. Love the Pro, but the Mini definitely feels more like a tablet.

The way the mini is setup from apple to use and show different websites and apps like an iPhone does is totally different.

I gave it to my little sister and she really loved it. she loves to draw/design and its big screen is great for her work. I purchased mini 6 in the next months and love it so far! it is great to compliment my mac and iphone 11 for my use. work that need bigger screen (and mostly serious work like coding), i will use my mac. for notetaking, reading, will use my ipad mini. and for most communication, camera, more portable entertainment (like when commuting), can switch to my iphone. different people may have different perfect ipad based on their uses, so one should choose wisely

I have an iPad Pro in the house and owned the 8th gen iPad. Replaced that with the iPad Mini 6 in 256GB. It’s a long term tablet for me and for the price I’ve already paid for it in use has covered the value many times over. I will probably stick with the iPad mini and it’s future replacements in the long run. Will keep the Mini 6 until it’s no longer viable.

Watching this from my ipad 9th gen. I think better on smaller ipad which is easy to hold, when playing games your hand not too tired when you hold a bigger ipad and heavy, easy to carry around or when you go out, you can carry in a smaller bag, i got this bulky ipad sometimes hard to carry around but i love my ipad for watching movies. Depend on how you use it.

I have a mini and still have an iPad 9th gen. I don’t use a pencil much, but can use the Logitech crayon in the rare event I feel like writing. Thankfully, there are also cheaper keyboards for iPad than the Magic Keyboard, whose price I can’t justify. Again, Logitech is my go-to. I’m not affiliated with them or compensated in any way-I think they just deliver a great product at more sane prices. I may trade my 9th gen at some point but may wait for the next/11th gen. If I need to type using the mini, I have a Bluetooth full size keyboard that works, but I normally use it for consumption as I use a regular laptop for work.

Just got the Mini and I can’t believe I allowed so much time to go by before finally getting one. This little thing is such an amazing piece of tech. Performance wise, I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Mini is just as responsive, literally no difference at all.
Using my Mini for every thing I would normally use my iPhone for, from gaming (COD Mobile/Warzone) to content (TH-cam, Netflix ex…), making and answering phone calls (cellular version) and much more. I have always wanted a slightly bigger screen for all these things but did not want to walk around with a 10 inch tablet.
Now of course I don’t use my Mini to replace my Mac, I bought that thing for a reason, but I did get the Mini for its portability and boy oh boy does this thing deliver. I don’t regret getting the Mini over the 11inch Pro I was browsing.
Thanks Tech Gear Talk for providing such a detailed comparison between the Mini and other models. Oh, and using your (buy it nice or buy it twice) I went and got the 256gb Cellular. No regrets! 😊❤

I went with the 10 because I DON'T use a pencil and the air gap isn't noticeable to me. Portability isn't an issue either, I'd rather use my phone in most cases. I wanted the front facing camera and the bigger screen because i'm a pilot and use foreflight and enjoy the bigger map display. I've had mini in the past and its slick and fun but its not as functional overall compared to a bigger tablet. Anyone saying it is has a VERY specific work idea for it imo.
EDIT: i had the 9 for a bit with the pencil and I don't know why people hate the idea that the 10 doesn't support the 2nd. I never needed to charge the pencil it seemed, it lasts forever and charges quickly. If you have a cover on the mini you can't charge it on the top anyway in some cases. Unless you're an artist or heavy pencil note taker its not a big deal

I think people over estimate the need for a pencil. I use it as a drawing tool, but I don’t see why someone who doesn’t draw needs it. One of those cheap stylus can work as a pointer if that’s what you need.

    • @MoPoppins
      @MoPoppins ปีที่แล้ว

@@sloppynyuszi Some people use it to take copious notes-they might be students, use it for work, or both, so the pencil would potentially get HOURS of use, even by someone who doesn’t draw (does doodling during meetings count?).
I’m not an artist, but do like having my pencil. I *had* an Apple Pencil, but it flew out of my mini case’s elastic loop when I pulled something else out of my shopping bag, and didn’t realize that the iPad mini would LEAP out w/ it (it was a semi-tight fit). 😮
I bought a replacement pencil, BUT it’s a generic one, and it suits my needs perfectly. 👌 The one I bought was $37, and it both stores AND charges magnetically against the iPad! I didn’t even know that that was on offer, but Amazon suggested the item to me-otherwise, I would’ve settled for one that charges w/ a USB-C cable.
At about 1/3 the cost of an Apple Pencil, I’d recommend it for people who want one, but don’t want to spend $130 on it.

I’m now on my THIRD iPad mini (Gen. 2, 4, and now 6), and I ❤️ this form factor!
Not everyone will be able to do this, since it depends on their life circumstances, but I use the iPad mini 6 as my daily driver. I’m usually on wifi, so I don’t need a robust data plan, and bought Mint Mobile’s lowest one (4GB for $15/mo.).
I have Bluetooth headphones, so phone/video calls can be answered remotely. For my daily basic needs (email, calendar, reminders, podcasts, music, TH-cam, browser, photos, alarms, etc.), the iPad mini 6 can do it ALL!
What I love is that the screen is big enough to see most things that don’t require much detailed viewing, yet is light & portable (I’m a female who uses a smallish crossbody bag). I love not needing a smartphone! I have a 2-in-1 (HP Spectre), if I need a bigger screen and capabilities that this mini-tablet doesn’t possess.
For the right user, the iPad mini could easily be their go-to for potentially EVERYTHING, if possible. If Apple didn’t deliberately leave out certain features that one would have on a laptop, I’d just have a separate screen and keyboard to use it on a desktop.

If you want something that's easy to take with you and has a great display, then the iPad mini might be a better choice for you. On the other hand, if you want a bigger screen and something that's a bit more budget-friendly, then the 10th generation iPad could be the way to go. Ultimately, it's all about what works best for your needs and preferences! I got an iPad Air 5th Gen with a student offer.
In India 🇮🇳 , The iPad Mini starts at ₹49900 ($605.96) yikes!.. Whereas the iPad 10th Gen is about ₹44900 ($545.25). iPads are very overpriced here in India.

I have iPad mini and iPad Pro - I hate the fact that iPad mini doesn’t look very bright. It’s 500 nits on paper but that’s a smaller surface area lighting up so my eyes perceive it as dim. I'm looking at the two for something similar. Since would work while riding in the car on a fairly regular basis, and he said you don't get a whole lot of extra content on the ipad (everything is larger), for me I think the mini would be the best fit, as it would be very easy to hold, and lighting/reflectivity from the windows could be more of an issue with the ipad 10.
However, the ipad with keyboard case could basically be a laptop, which would be great as well.
Did you end up getting one? How has it worked out for you?
