    I think the mini has the best, most comfortable size. Unless you have to use your device specifically for something that requires a big screen, there will be hardly any advantage with a big screen but many advantages with a smaller 8.3 inch screen which is still much bigger than a phone screen.

    I kinda disagree about the ipad 10th gen.
    The base model comes with a 64GB of storage, this isn’t enough whether you’re a student, a grandma, an iPad kid - soon you’ll find yourself removing apps or using cloud which isn’t very comfortable. When you expand the storage to 256GB, the price becomes comparable to the 128GB iPad Air.
    The lack of a laminated display is a very significant problem for note-takers who want a paper-like feel. A gap between the screen and the display makes your notes feel “distant” in a way. The base iPad is designed this way for schools to be able to repair it for cheaper, but it’s not the most user friendly design.
    Moreover, the base iPad is more than 2 years old now, there being talks of iPad 11th gen already. It also uses an iPhone 12 chip. These are significant compromises as the base iPad isn’t as future-proof. On the other hand, the iPad Air uses m2, a computer chip, with double the amount of cores. For someone who wants to invest in an iPad for the long term, iPad Air is a better choice.

      @@wandersonfreitasfilho5122 If 64GB is enough for a person, and if that person doesn't need the Air's specific features like screen sharing or the pencil pro, I agree that it might be the better choice with its price. 350 dollars is really good, and that yellow looks gorgeous.
      However, as a student who gets distracted by the most minor things, putting the data for my tablet in another device, would become a chore for me.

    Another great video, Tech Chap. I’ve been continuously tempted to buy a new iPad Pro ever since it first came out with the M1 chip. However, other than a dying battery that I’m going to replace, my 2018 iPad Pro (12.9” screen, 512GB, cell, Logitech keyboard case, and Apple Pencil 2), which cost about US $1,800 still performs flawlessly. It even runs iPad OS 18.1 (with some limitations, obviously).

  • @jmilesfox
    @jmilesfox 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +50

    The iPad mini can be found for $400 in the US. Taking price out of consideration, it is still the best all rounder in my opinion. It can do most of the things you want an iPad to do, in a size you actually want to use. I’ve had the 11” and 12.9” Pro, but I have only used the Mini consistently. My only caveat is if I were a student, I’d probably go with the 12.9” for screen real estate.

    • @MPD90
      @MPD90 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But on the other hand, it's really not bigger than a Pro Max phone when it comes to media consumption, so if that's your purpose then the mini feels borderline irrelevant.

    I have the iPad Mini 7 and the 13-inch iPad Pro [M4]. I've been having a heated internal debate over the last few days as to which to keep, but I'm leaning towards the Pro. The keyboard case is really great and isn't cramped for typing, plus the screen is noticeably smoother. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the texture of the case on the Pro's Magic Keyboard case, which feels like a mix between rubber and suede, although I admit I haven't looked at other options [I mean, good grief, I spent as much as I did on the keyboard case in the first place 😂]. Totally agreed. If you already have a cellphone and a laptop, do not buy one unless you have a very specific need for it. The reason for the past few years of declining iPad sales is because people have realized what happened; expiry of IOS support, before you know it, years passed and you can't update IOS anymore, and the thing becomes an expensive photoframe/alarm clock. Now of course all devices eventually gets outdated but the problem is, the tablet is often not the main priority device of most people. The cellphone is one, the laptop for work is another, so most people have no problem spending money every few years to upgrade to a current phone or computer. But if the tablet is a lower priority secondary device, often only for entertainment, then it makes it not that cost effective given their high cost. Its also not worth buying outdated pre owned sets for the same reason. A 15 year old macbook can be revived with Linux OS, but ipads are not ungradeable both in hardware and software. But if you have a specific use for it, ie an graphics artist drawing on it, then no problem. Or you can afford these easily. Otherwise, dont waste your money!

    I see so many people buy the pro or the air when all they are going to do is stream videos and surf the web. They don’t understand that even the most basic iPads will do 95 percent of what the pros do and 99 percent of people will never use that 5%.
    A lot of this has to do with tech bros who are producing video content. THEY need the power of the pros. Their grandma does not.
    I’m still using a 7th gen ipad for business and it does everything I need and more.

      @ stage manager is good for niche cases like running two financial apps side by side and switching to another set of like apps. You would absolutely have to buy the newest pro M4 to have good sunlight handling on an iPad. There is no second best option. It’s the double panel OLED that does brightness. You could try to find the mini LED 2022 model next it’s lower.

    Compared to the iPhones, why are the iPads regressing in their camera lenses. The iPad Mini is the perfect device for capturing content, or especially spatial content if capable…
    Camera operators often attach larger monitors or touch screens to their camera rigs, which also means Apple should either offer a 1TB capacity for the Mini, or introduce a Pro version…
    An iPad Mini with the cameras and storage capacity options of the iPhone Pro series would revolutionize the content creation industry by leaps and bounds…

    I’m not looking for games or movies (bar maybe on my relatively frequent flights for work to not drain my phone battery).
    The goal was to show my photography portfolio on the road if I didn’t have my physical one (prints).
    Anti-reflective was important since i want my images to not be hidden by interior lighting, not having that air gap with the screen is also big in case it’s wet outside and I don’t want to hand people a larger tablet that they could drop easier.
    I think overall the size is fine. I bought my wife the pro a couple years ago and I don’t want to travel with something /that/ expensive
