I work at a high end hotel in the maintenance department and all of our reach in coolers and freezers are Traulsens. The cab and evap sensors go out sometimes and I’ve replaced them before. Great job and great video.
Great Saturday fix Super Dave ... Hope the customers appreciate all the good jobs ,not only you do but all the other guys on these channels do ... Lot of good people on here ...
WHAT! YOU DON'T HAVE EVERY SENSOR KNOW TO MANKIND ON YOUR TRUCK! Seriously, of all the makes that I have serviced over the years, Traulsen has been the least troublesome. Then they went and put the smart motors into them. A bird farts on a power line and knocks out the smart evaporator motor assembly. That's oh so much fun to replace.
32k ohms in ice water is what you are looking for. 2014 sensors go bad. Mostly the coil sensor. Latest version will have GB on label. Replace both. The coil sensors go bad much more often.
@@NorCal-refrigeration Yes 100% the old sensor was bad, but the 2nd hand one you put in,you may have been able to calibrate it to be correct.. but your getting a correct new one anyhow.. top job.. one question, washing condensor, can you get water in the electrical box underneath..???
Good afternoon Dave can I ask a question on a unit traulsen ADT132wut-hhs is a unit whit a refrigerator in the top and freezer on the bottom, the top unit has the coil sensor clamp on the txv but the bottom freezer the coil sensor is on the coil ,the txv on the freezer was replaced I don’t know if they forgot to clamp the sensor at the txv or not ,but we’re the coil sensor supposed to go ,on the txv or the coil ?
These sensors are notorious for going bad. I've probably changed a few hundred in the last ten years. I usually swap out both the cabinet and evap sensor while I'm in there. They both will fail eventually.
I have a 2009 traulsen one door freezer, I bought it used having trouble with the txv valve sticking because of green dye that was put in.What txv valve do you like? And how would you clean out the system if possible. Changed out the 404a gas twice and filter dryer, still has trace amounts of green dye. Thank you for any help.
What does ele los and err mean brother I just finished HVAC/r school and working at nugget casino in Reno nv and I have so much to figure out. By myself wtf?! Lol
I’ve worked on a few of these and I have looked in the manual and can’t seem to find out what that left little control is mounted about half way up by the condenser looks like it has a phone cord plugged into it. Any idea what that does ?
Partstown site seems easier and more reliable than Heritage , but Heritage has had better prices on parts I've needed so far. Try and get make and model from customer ahead of time so you can download manuals ahead of time.
Why are Traulsen Refrigerators considered by some to be better than say a Beverage Air or even Turbo Air? Better components, less failures, better design?

Always good to save those old parts. They’ll get you through a pinch. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Good video Dave🤙 I like to pop the sensors in ice water and look for 32k @ 32*f. Ever off I replace
Yea, Nice trick ! easy to remember !
Thanks 🙏 a lot we have a couple of those on our place I known how to trouble shot them
Hey Dave, does that Traulsen electronic t/stat have a cabinet probe calibration parameter..???
drcolster I don’t know. But the sensor has a specific ohms valve at a specific temperature and it’s has gone bad.

drcolster water yes. I didn’t understand your 1st question. Makes sense now. 👍
what if the pipe coming out of the coils that freeze is frozen?

Never worked on these units. How complicated are they ? Are parts easy to find ?
Good show, what catalog was that?

It’s for fast programming and troubleshooting with a controller or lap top I believe
which brand coil cleaner you are using ?
jain toms Home Depot stuff in a can.

My question is where you got that book
Whole sale house that’s sell that brand of equipment. And google on your smartphone
Wondering if you have an app or website to get equipment manuals?
Partstown and heritage parts is good for commercial units.

@@NorCal-refrigeration close to clemson sc
S. Carolina maintenance I had no idea you had cold winters there, I always thought it was mild in winter in SC.
@@NorCal-refrigeration some days are ok but we do get to 0° mid winter. Enjoy the warm weather. I have to wait until April or may to warm up.

They are one of the only to use a txv, and without a receiver. Their stainless lasts forever, and easy to work on
Dan T they are rebuildable and last.
You cut out the only part I needed to see pmfao
man i work on a lot traulsen how’s can i get one those catalogs just starting my on business
Just got my RHS catalog ( www.rhsparts.com) in the mail today.
