    A video with a build list for a 300, 400, 500 HP K-series would be good, just talking through the parts what to buy what to avoid and all that.

    I have never seen any 2 people more excited about building a k series that these guys, and I'm glad I found this video. I'm building my 1st k series, a k24a1, and I got an RBB-3 head for it. I took the valvetrain out and all the pins n springs fell out just like he said. I'm going to put a type s oil pump on it too. lucky for me I don't have to cut it.

    The later tsx engines burning more oil has to be a change in valve seal material because they ALL have bad valve seals. If you are getting the seals replaced anyway, any year SHOULD be ok. With everything you did to this engine, literally just about any K series will be safe. Great video and it really is very informative.

    You want the 06-08 TSX block because its hands down the better block. Better crankcase ventilation, under piston oil squirters, better aggressive cams, the strongest OEM connecting rods.

    Jroc asked how the valves are cleaned. At my old cylinder head shop we used a tumbler that used pea sized shot with kerosene. The valves came out as nice as new every time, ready to have a new face and tip cut. We'd also throw the springs, retainers and keeper in with them. The keepers were put inside something we called an "egg" that was basically two PVC caps that screwed together, with small holes drilled all over it to allow the kerosene in.

      @hassansafeer7411 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sonic_203 thx bro for the reply. But my question is what's the basic difference in both of them? Are these drag cartel cams are heavier in weight if we compare it with type r cams k20a or tsx rbb - 3, or rbb-4 motor head cams. Like I have accord euro r, last year I swapped k24a, rbb-4 head assembly, rest all stock rbc intake oem, tb 70 mm oem, and it's revs to 9000rpm.stock oil pump. So if I put drag cartel cams will it increase it's torque, but what thing is extra in drag cartel cams that it will produce more torque. Both cams are 3.2 if we see their built pattern. Whereas tsx cams have extra 2 round rings on both intake and exhaust, those rings are added up weight to increase torque, i guess. Which I can't see in drag cartel cams built pattern. Type r k20a cams have 1 ring on both intake and exhaust cams, where as tsx k24a rbb, 3,4 motors have dual rings on both intake and exhaust cams. So what thing is their in drag cartel cams which makes more power?

      If you mainly watch popular and famous channels and videos then it will recommend more of that to you and it makes TH-cam more money by getting the videos more views and advertisements that companies pay to have TH-cam out on their videos and it keep TH-cam, a business on their feet and pay their employees

    At 13:52 what are you taking out with a screw and replacing with a bolt? And why. I have a 99 ek hatch I just pulled 2 k24a2 engines out of auto 06 tsx want to do this build. Pretty knowledgeable with engines want to get 300-350 na and eventually go turbo.

    • @jeremyjames2606
      @jeremyjames2606 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also at 30:57 you added a block off plate, for what? And why did you add a 50 degree cam gear? Do you happen to know the mileage on this engine? I noticed no rings or bearing were done or looked at. Just curious because both the engines I pulled had nasty oil leakage. Extremely common though, crankshaft seal, valve cover, vtec solenoid gasket leakage. Just wondering about the bearings and how durable they are hate to do this refresh and then spin a bearing. Thanks for any advice good stuff.

    Is sourcing an engine from an Automatic better because it's not driven as hard. The tranny limiting the hard driving?

    Hello ..I'm watching all of the K24 videos I can ..Just interested ..retired mechanic ,,have a k24a4 .."element" ..maybe you can answer a question I've been looking for ... Why does the K24a4 not have the piston oil squirters in the block ? Just curious ... Thanks for the great video ..

    • @xochiltepetzalailhuicamina2322
      @xochiltepetzalailhuicamina2322 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically oil squirters are in the high "performance" engines like the K24A2 out of the Acura tsx to cool and lube the engine especially at higher rpms. Where as the K24A4 is considered a "fuel economy" engine and makes power lower in RPMs with VTEC engagement, I think being around 2500 RPM in my 2004 Honda Accord K24A4 and it doesn't need the additional lubrication and cooling of engine parts of the Acura Tsx K24A2 with Vtec engagement being in the 6000 rpm range. Even though I think the block can modified to be fitted with the oil squirters if u really want them.

      @@xochiltepetzalailhuicamina2322 Thank you for the reply ...sorta makes sense ..the lower performance motors that make torque at a lower rpm don't get as hot and therefor don't need them ..Honda saved a little $$$ on each of them doing it this way also ..otherwise I'd think just put them in all of them for the dependabilaty it could add .. There was no such thing back when I worked on them (chevy & fords ) ... I have also read where the people who build these for high performance use a forged piston and eleminate the squirters as they don't need them and they cause drag and lower oil pressure .. sorry this is so long ..thanks for the reply ..

    8:40 I've always wanted to strip and rebuild an entire engine only using an impact, would be a fun little experiment to see if it works (or how much you ruin)

    Can you make a boost series similar to this? Like what all is needed for a 300/400/500 supercharged/turbo K? I'm putting together a supercharged K24 and pretty severely overwhelmed lol.

    To plug the hole for the balance shaft oil pump for the Tsx block do you put Hondabond on the small bolt you insert in it?

    Hey guys, I have a fa5. My build is identical except i have a k20z3 head and dc 2.2s. Hoping to hit 12s on the drag strip.
    Would you guys recommend a short final drive (5.06 or spoon 5.1) with a 260 whp on a street car?
    I don’t do much highway driving. Mostly mountain roads.
    Thoughts?
