I did a k24/k20 on my fg2 with skunk2 drop ins, no head work. Type s oil pump, rdx injectors. Skunk2 full exhaust and I made 261 on 93 octane. I believe drag cartels 3.2 needs a higher compression pistons to achieve power. However drop ins are the best for 250-260hp goal.
What was the build cost with the labor? And trust me I know quality craftsmanship goes a long way and you guys did a hell of job on that motor. In your previous vid, you said to get an automatic motor, just wondering why that is?

I just the video how you guys pick the winner with Random Generator, how do you account for X2 multipliers in a random 1-10 generator? Its like i do 4 ordes each with X2 multiplier. With random generator its accounting 4 orders, not X2 making it 8 order. I only got 1 order number for x2 multiplier. Your random generator its only accounting for each order, not X2 of each order. If your Number generator 1-10. How would you account for #4 popping up 20 times cause of X2? If you put the generator from 1-10 its not accounting for X2 multipliers. Am i wrong?
They can make 250 with a ported head, 50 degrees of timing, and e85 . But youll need full bolt ons,injectors, and a fuel pump too. My z3 made 220whp with j37 tb, mishi intake, n1 3” exhaust, and the stock header. My tuner said itll do 230 with a header. It has a s2 mani and k tuned rail now so with a header itll make 230 easy. I want to upgrade my fuel pump before then tho. Lol
@@Lastsight100 u could make around 240whp with those mods. Need a dyno tune though. And they run hotter with a lot of timing so just a thought and change your oil more often.
6 grand on not the top of the line parts is good for 255hp. So if you was to buy the best components money can buy. How much would that take to build? $

If you don't care about idle or bottom end you can swap the rockers and swap the cams. Look up vtec killer setup here on TH-cam with any of the economy engines. K20a3/k24a4/1, etc. Essentially you run in vtec all the time using the big lobe on a true three lobe VTEC cam. You can still make over 200whp, but like I said, with only a big lobe your bottom end will suffer, and you are still down on compression. A lot of guys still seem to like it though. You will still need to do your bolt-ons and obviously need to get it tuned. But you could do it for pretty cheap, comparative to doing an engine swap at least. Hope this helps.
Just get a turbo kit and boost it if you're too scared to spend $850 for a k24a2 and swap it in. As others said, the base K's are garbage for NA power. But like most old accord sleepers, you should be able to get 300whp out of a simple turbo setup.
So you telling me $6k to gain only 58hp is a budget build? That si comes with 197hp from factory. You could’ve thrown a supercharger kit on it for less and gained way more hp.
I've seen people using the stock 06-08 tsx k24a2 block with the stock k20z3 head or the stock jdm k24a block with the k20z3 head on it do 250+whp using a type s oil pump and upgraded injectors with all the other bolt ons without doing any valve train upgrade and polishing or porting and using the stock cams in the k20z3 would be more of a budget build

@@yeahman1756 at what HP range does the trans become problematic? I've only every had around 235hp in my swaps. I do plan to get to around 250hp for a street car.

I’d say another 5 or so as the z3 head flows a bit better on the bench. But you can port a 24 head to out perform a stock k20 head

Is the grams dbw tb 72mm better than a ktuned 72mm dbw tb? Have them both but using now is the ktuned
No difference in blade size so one will not make more than the other

Not without tearing it down to the block and building from scratch. That motor in stock form with never make power
