    I think one of the reasons why people still buy intel laptops is because they just can't get amd laptops.

      Nowadays here in Portugal you can find loads of AMD laptops in big retail stores but most are 3rd gen, little are 4rd gen and don't even bother trying to find a 5th gen. If you don't watch closely you'll end up buying a 3rd gen by mistake or you go with the Intel version because the AMD model you want is not in stock and you in need of a new computer! I don't know if AMD is not capable to deliver or if they don't want so they can sell older chips riding the hype around new ones, either way, that's a shame! If you really want a newer chip in the right model you have to buy it online and ......wait!

    • @LeMMingSlayeR
      @LeMMingSlayeR 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Prateek_Rathee2102 I’m assuming that you’re asking the question genuinely, when I use the term bottlenecking I’m referring to a component that substantially reduces the ability of other components to perform at their best. For example my old laptop was a Ryzen 3750H, which was a quad-core processor with mediocre single-threaded performance. I would play games at 1080p and my 1660 TI would only be running at 60 to 70% utilization but my FPS would be low. The GPU was being held back because of a weaker CPU and if I had a better CPU than my jeep you would’ve run a lot faster and I would’ve gotten better performance. When I play games now on my new laptop, my frame rates are much better and my GPU is almost always at 100% utilization which means that there is no other component holding it back.

I also upgraded the laptop to Windows 11 (which runs very well), but new models might actually score with Win 11 from Dell. It still plays all my games beautifully.

    Can't wait for U series and HX series Ryzen 5000 mobile reviews. As well as more apples to apples and price/performance reviews of similar/identical mGPU setups.
    That being said, CPU wattage monitoring is something I see lacking from these tests, yet again. I don't trust bios settings of x watts too much, especially when it comes to CPUs like the 10980HK, which technically is a 45-65W CPU, not a 45W by default. Power testing should be even more important with HX chips, which have fully(?) unlocked power restraints (hence simply marketed as "45W+").

    I know I'm a bit late, but these days there is a massive selling-out of stocks with 4800H, and the prices are insane! I myself bought one laptop with 4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and dGPU GeForce GTX 1650 for only ~900 USD here in EU! I mean, obviously 5800H is the newer and flashier product these days, but it costs close to $2000 for comparable laptop and more if you demand proper dGPU as well! Meaning for those who are interested in high-performance laptop as a workstation rather than gaming station the 4800H laptops these days do deliver almost unbeatable performance/dollar ratio, the 4800H is still very much capable of pretty much anthing you want to do with it and it won't ruin your wallet!

I almost bought a Lenovo Flex 14 with the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, 16gb, 512gb at Costco due to the extra year of warranty and $200 cheaper than elsewhere online. But I then found other Lenovo models with better battery life 10+ . Looking at one particular model on MobileMark 2014 managed 17hrs. What do you recommend?
