Lucid Air Touring and Pure first look: Finally, Lucid unveils its less expensive Air models

- The Lucid Air is a fantastic first car from a new automaker. It’s also a very expensive EV out of the reach of most people. The company has promised less expensive versions of the Air and today those vehicles are finally being unveiled.
During the Los Angeles Auto Show, Lucid took the wraps off the Lucid Air Pur and Touring. The two vehicles might not have over 500 miles of range or can hit 60 in under two seconds, but these are likely the two trim levels that will dominate the automaker’s sales.
The Pure is the first and only Air to come in under $100,000 starting at a still pricey $87,400. It’s best to remember that the Air is still a luxury vehicle. While it won’t hit 500 miles between charges, it has an EPA target of 410 miles and can charge at 250kW on a compatible DC fast charger. The Touring is slightly more expensive at $107,400 and can drive for an EPA estimated range of 425 miles.
While the Pure wasn’t quite ready for testing, we were able to get behind the wheel of the Touring for a quick jaunt around Lucid headquarters.

The difference between "less expensive" and "affordable" have never been more clear.
Lucid Air Pure hits all the points for me. More leg room in the back seat (heigh wise) No glass that is annoying in the bright sunlight. I test drove Lucid Grand Touring on the very sunny day. That sunshade on the windshield was not enough. It does look airy but for the actual real world use, metal roof is better. And for those who reserved before the price hike it's still 78k not a bad deal in this day and age.

I have the GT and live in SOCAL. The glass was pretty annoying I gotta say, but after I tinted it it wasn’t a bother anymore and it looks much nicer driving around in the morning

Also the metal roof is better for chips, less expensive to repair. I can't fucking imagine the price of the replacing a glass roof on a gt or touring.

Waiting for Gravity Pure with 7 proper seats, plenty isofix and childseat tilt for 2nd row, of course without glass roof, and hopefully more than 400 miles of range.

Are you sure the Touring comes standard with LiDAR without paying $10k for DD Pro?
How does the company keep stating that they will have the Pure this year? We are about six weeks away and they still aren't producing them.
It starts production in December so that’s probably why
They’re trying to finish all the GT first and then start with the Touring and Pure

Yeah, these cars are beautiful to look at from my old Mazda CX-5.... A few years ago I parked by an electronics store here in Canada, near Toronto. It was the pickup line and there was an older model Lucid. I was completely blown away by the design and the fantastic paint job. The owner actually came out of the store and I asked him what this vehicle was, I had never seen it before and I am a self prophesied car nut. I told him it was beautiful and he told me it was. Allowed me to peek inside, man that was something, made my day I tell you that. Then... I asked him for the price of this vehicle. 160,000 Canadian dollars. I told him I needed to sit down - lol. We both laughed, he was a CEO of something high end stuff in the pharma.
