I am glad you are experiencing The Bee Gees (the Brothers Gibb) They have been singing since the Late 1950's and I grew up listening to them in the 1970's starting in 1975 with their "Main Course" album Barry Gibb is the One in the middle you were talking about with his signature "Falsetto" Voice , who has written songs for stars such as Dionne Warwick,Tina Turner, Dolly Parton, Frankie Valli, Barbra Streisand and many Others. Maurice Gibb ( the one with the shorter Hair and short beard) died in 2003 of a twisted Colon and Robin Gibb (the Thin one with the long Hair) dies in 2012 of cancer The Bee Gees Music is Timeless!!! and Barry is still Preforming and sometimes does duets with his oldest son Stephen and his Niece Samantha. I am 65 and Still have tears in my eyes when I hear them sing.

Long time Bee Gees fan here. Ok for some people that may not know... all of the royalties forever from the song "Too Much Heaven" all go to a specified charity that was setup by the Bee Gees shortly after the song was released. In my opinion Barry Gibb has one of the best falsetto voices ever. Incredible.

These guys sang together since childhood, without formal training. They never knew they could sing in falsetto voices until they recorded "The Nights on Broadway," Barry, in the middle could keep singing falsetto longer, and add in vibrato, which not many can do. So anything recorded before "the Nights..." was sung with their normal voices. Their music was all written by them as well, while they couldn't read sheet music. The theme from "Grease" the movie, is written by Barry, who wrote many hits for other top artists as well.

Barry Gibb, the one in the middle and oldest of the brothers has a great falsetto. It's kind of interesting to say that "it's his real voice". Of course it is him singing (and killing it, of course) but the word "falsetto" is Italian for "false voice". His regular voice is also very good and he uses it in some of their older songs like "Words" and "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart". Check them out too; you really can't go wrong with the Bee Gees.

    Oh mannn...
I was a kid of the 70's. This song was sooo popular my brothers would play it whenever they went on dates with their girlfriends. Smooth and easy listening 🎶 👌

What’s so crazy about this is that when I was growing up during that time, I liked their sound but I didn’t appreciate it like I do now. I guess that’s what happens during your youth. But it does my heart good to see young people like you enjoy these classics! Thanks for sharing your reactions!

I did not know that. Of course, Bryan Jones died very young, and given nearly all the groups from my 1960's era are starting to lose members, I thought it was only a matter of time so thanks for letting us know.

Oh Damn. Charlie was an absolute giant. I remember going to a Rolling Stones concert in my hometown of San Antonio back in 1994. Mick was introducing all the members of the band and Charlie got the biggest ovation from the crowd. You could actually see it bring tears to his eyes because he was so touched by that. That's a memory I will now cherish forever.

Nice to see you back, the day is brighter with you in it. The Bee Gees were an awesome British band that had tons of great songs before they sold out and went disco, try reacting to their pre-disco era rockers and ballads like To Love Somebody, Massachusetts, I've Got to Get a Message to You, Lonely Days and How Can I Mend a Broken Heart, all superior songs to anything they did in the sellout era and worthy of being in a mix with The Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Kinks of that era. These are great songs and should not be forgotten, those guys were awesome songwriters in the late 60s & early 70s. Enjoy and good to have you back pretty lady! 🎸 Take care and be safe and well...

I grew up listening to everything from Jerry Lee Lewis, the Coasters, Motown, the Beatles and all in between. I think many of us took that music for granted because there was so much talent, genres and hits coming out each week on the Top 40 charts, we never thought the music would stop but it did. I was still in elementary school in the 60s and great music was everywhere. In the late 50s when I came into the world doo wop was the thing, harmonized vocals that made you want to sing along. All that great music is gone so now we listen to the oldies.

  • @bobstewart8032
    @bobstewart8032 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Barry is the oldest brother and was the one in the middle. The Bee Gees have been around since the 60s. They had hits in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and into the 90s.
They actually developed the falsetto sound in the mid 70s because they were trying to recreate themselves.
As I said, Barry is the oldest brother, and the only surviving brother.
The other brothers in the video were Robin and Maurice. They were twins.
They also had a younger brother, Andy, who was only 30 when he died.
Andy was mostly a solo act and was also a great singer. The 4 would perform on rare occasions.
All of them had single hits of their own.
This was a great video and thank you for bringing back some great memories!

Had the great pleasure to play in concert on the same evening as The Bee Gees in Scotland in 1968. My band from Galashiels in the South of Scotland was called The State Property - we played for an hour and then The Bee Gees played before we came back and finished the concert!! A great night!!!!!
