I also grew up in the 70s with these amazing and beautiful Men.
      NO autotune, just pure talent.
Todays music cannot be compared with all the autotune and added effects when they sing, plus they all are created by the cookie cutter mold.
Most wouldn't make it, they have no talent.
      Want real talent?
Check out Dimash Kudaibergan from Kazakhstan who came into world view at a Chinese talent show singing "SOS". That is a great reference to ssf tart your Dimash journey.
He sings in 12 languages, plays 7 instruments, has 7, YES,7 octave range, 2 masters degrees in music and theater and currently working on his PHD and the best part is that he has remained humble and grateful dispite his HUGE success.
Next is Diana Ankudinova from Russia who came to the world view with Rechenka (River) age 14.
Age 15, same competition sing Wicked Game (cover to Chris Issac), HUMAN (cover to RagN'Bone Man).
Now age 19. Her latest is "I can't help falling in love with you (cover to Elvus Presley), Crow (cover to LINDA.
She has been classified as the rarest of human voices.
She is a type 3 Dark Contralto with polyphonic undertones, simply put you hear multiple tones at once.
      Shaman, tribal, Primitive, etherial.
Absolutely NO ONE to compare her to past or present.
Another vocalist who is humble, grateful and kind.
      Enjoy

The Bee Gees (among the most successful groups of all time) wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was already #1 in US & Canada & #3 in UK before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2017, saying UNICEF had received more than $11 million from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found a solid source for that. Barry included the song on his 2021 hit album, Greenfields, so that (duet with Alison Krauss) will bring UNICEF a whole new revenue stream.

But I am jaundiced because I love their 60’s catalog, hate their foray into Disco and love their 70’s love songs. As an aside, they also wrote great music for other artists. And that is why music nowadays can’t even compare to the classics. Back then they wrote music with pure pure heart! It’s my era and I’m very proud of it!

These brothers had the most amazing natural harmonies, truly gifted singers. They got a bad rep during the disco years, because a lot of people thought disco sucked, they were awesome at it. I loved them throughout their careers…… they are legends!

What's cool is being brothers they vocally are similar, Barry in the middle was just a bit stronger is all, so their harmonizing was always point on! They also had a baby brother Andy Gibb who had his own solo career going on, but you can see him as well in the video "You should be dancing" he joins them on stage for this one. Great reaction.

Yeah. I know. Every woman in the world had the same reaction when this video dropped back in 1978. It's so lovely to see the younger generation discover the pure insane talent of those guys. The BEE GEEs stood for The BROTHERS GIBB. Barry - the gorgeous oldest brother in the middle, Robin (left) and Maurice (right) were twins and their youngest brother, Andy, a big star in his day, sadly passed at the age of 30 from a drug overdose. Barry is the only living sibling. He desperately misses his brothers as you can imagine. They were pure talent - that was a LIVE PERFORMANCE - no auto tune or technical manipulation! That's how REAL MUSIC was done back then. Dig into that era and you will have your mind blown over and over and over.

The BeeGees official career spanned almost 50 years [but, they sang at pubs/clubs, when 9/Barry & 6/twins: Robin&Mo, to help support family (Mom,Dad,5 kids total)]. Barry was badly scalded as a toddler, almost died, & didn't speak until he was 3 (after twins were born). Mo joked they were like triplets "but something happened with Barry". All said when they reached the same mind space when writing music/lyrics, it was as if they were one person & creativity flowed, like dictation. They were beyond immensely talented. Oh, they taught themselves to sing harmony by listening to the radio as very, very young kids. They could not read or write music. They were among the most humble, funny, polite, & considerate mega-superstars. Enjoy the ride!!
