    Although the Marvel was slower to 80% it actually had added more energy than the ID3, when the ID3 came to 80%.

      added more *energy*

      @@bjornnyland Corrected - Though my wording might not have been correct, I hope my message was understandable. Though you tried to find cars with similar battery sizes, it highlights the problem with using percentage as an indicator when the difference in size is so relatively big.

      Adding more energy just means taking more money out of your bank account 🤣

    Hi Bjorn, thank you for your videos. I think you should consider the range added based on your range tests… not only the percentage ⚡️✌️

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. Many of these batteries are used in different cars with different efficiencies.

      I really enjoy your videos, Björn, and respect your EV knowledge immensely, but I’m with Ballantine Electric on this one. Adding a percentage of battery capacity is somewhat interesting, but the thing that *really* matters is how much range is being added per charge time. My logic is this:
      - for those charging overnight at home, these tests are irrelevant - they won’t (or are unlikely to) have rapid charging at home and have plenty of time to charge;
      - for those charging at a rapid charger, they will (normally) want to minimise the charging time taken to cover a given distance, or get the most distance per charging time (two sides of the same coin).
      So, rather than peak or average charge speeds (as a percentage), several factors apply: average charge speed, battery capacity & vehicle efficiency.
      Your 1,000km Challenge is a perfect example of this, but using your figures for range to generate a range/min of charging would be a good surrogate.

    Did you see that energy prices are going up and up in Europe? Some say there will be restrictions in energy consumption and people won't be able to recharge at home

    I think Id3 77kw +/- also at the same price range. Maybe it worth to include also

    Single range Polestar 2 have been 69/67 kwh for a half year now...

  • @edwardvanhazendonk

    The Marvel and ID.3 have charged the same amount of kWh in those 60 minutes, not bad. Also around 35 mins, in the beginning the Marvel is quite slower charging. So your normal 80% charge is a bit slower but also has more kWh. Is the Marvel is more energy efficient?

  • @hegoodha
    @hegoodha ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The PS2 SR has 69 kwh battery, no? Should be fair to mention that the displayed one is outdated.

      @joonas9750 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, not good to test old version. Gives a wrong view. New charges 10-80% avg. over 100kwh, and max 133kwh.

    This doesnt seem right. I always hit 90-92kW while charging my Marvel R Performance, at least up to 45%. Question is, what was the battery temperature and did you use the battery pre-heating feature before charging?

    ID.3 is the best, do they get their batteries from Tesla?

    • @Francis-yc9nc
      @Francis-yc9nc ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, Tesla buys +99% of there battery's from suppliers as the VWG does. the advantage that they had was they could start from scratch.

    Rather disappointed in the charging performance the Marvel was giving you.
    Yours peaks at 82kW when it 'officially' peaks at 92kW.
    German and Austrian TH-camrs even achieved 94kW peaks and 6-80% in 36 Minutes: th-cam.com/video/GstXYaAPOxM/w-d-xo.html - why is yours doing so much worse?
    Some very small temperature window?
    Hopefully it'll do better on a 1000km run.

    • @SweViver
      @SweViver ปีที่แล้ว

      yep it must be the temperature and no pre-heating. I always hit 90-92kw sometimes 93 for a while.
